Chiringuito Tulum (Tulum, Riviera Maya) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Tulum has no shortage of stylish lodgings, but Chiringuito Tulum has a distinct look from many others lining the beachfront. Instead of embracing the bohemian-chic aesthetic that’s so popular in the area, this boutique hotel is modern and Mediterranean-inspired. Airy suites have polished cement flooring and minimalist decor, some of it built-in, and wide furnished terraces, many with ocean views and private pools. In-room details like Nespresso machines and Bose sound systems invite hiding away with a good book, though the lagoon-like swimming pool and open-air eatery are just as appealing. Pathways thickly shaded by palm trees lead down to the hotel’s beach club and kitesurfing school, an adventurous alternative to the yoga studios and meditation decks offered at most hotels nearby." - Tablet Hotels

We had a wonderful stay at this cozy hotel in South Tulum. It’s located a bit far from the party zone, which made it extremely quiet, relaxing, and perfect for a chill getaway. We stayed in the ocean-view suite with a private pool, and the room was absolutely amazing. The terrace view was truly breathtaking and one of the highlights of our stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Communication via WhatsApp was excellent and very convenient for ordering room service and asking questions throughout the stay. The hotel also has a beautiful sandy beach right in front, with gorgeous sunbeds that made it easy to relax and enjoy the ocean. There are a few points that could be improved. The private pool water was quite cold, with no option to heat it, so it was more suitable for a quick dip rather than proper use. It would also be nice to have fresh cold bottled water in the minibar instead of a water dispenser. While the room itself was kept very clean, the rooftop pool was not cleaned during our stay and became quite dirty after a couple of days. Additionally, the toilet had a slight unpleasant smell at times, which could be improved with better ventilation or maintenance. It’s also worth noting that fresh water seems to be a general issue in Tulum, as the shower and bathroom water were quite salty—similar to ocean water—though this is likely beyond the hotel’s control. Room service was only available until 6 p.m., so ordering dinner to the room wasn’t possible. However, breakfast room service was included and free of charge, which was a lovely touch. Breakfast was delicious and clearly prepared with care, but the variety was limited. Each day, the main choice was essentially the type of eggs you wanted (scrambled, omelet, poached, etc.). While the quality was great, a bit more variety would make it even better. Overall, this is a beautiful, peaceful hotel with stunning views, excellent service, and a very relaxing atmosphere. With a few small improvements, it could be truly exceptional.

This hotel is incredibly atmospheric 😍 The reception staff are amazing, always friendly, helpful, and full of positive energy ✨ Special thanks for upgrading our room to one with a pool and terrace for a very small extra charge. The room was beautiful and very comfortable. Breakfasts were delicious, and the restaurant staff were lovely. I truly consider this one of the best hotels on the Tulum coast. We’ll happily return!

I stayed at Chiringuito Tulum Hotel over the weekend because it was conveniently located right next to Zorba Tulum, where my brother-in-law’s wedding was held. I chose this hotel solely for its location. While the setting was peaceful, the food was good, and the staff were polite, my overall experience was completely overshadowed by a major issue. In the middle of showering and shampooing my hair, both the water and power went out for over an hour. Because of this, I was unable to get ready in time and missed the wedding ceremony... the very reason I traveled there in the first place. In a desperate attempt to rinse off, I even had to use my private terrace pool as a makeshift shower, which was both uncomfortable and unacceptable for a hotel of this caliber. Although staff apologized for the inconvenience, no compensation or meaningful resolution was offered. Over the course of four days, my husband and I spent nearly $500 at the restaurant, plus mini-bar purchases, yet no effort was made to make things right. To make matters worse, this wasn’t the only power outage during our stay, just the one that ruined the most important moment. Our family staying next door at Zorba Tulum never lost power, which makes this even more frustrating. I had planned my time carefully, but losing a full hour to this preventable issue derailed everything. I would absolutely choose to stay elsewhere next time — somewhere that guarantees basic essentials like running water and electricity.

We came here for a day visit, including drinks, food, and beach access. The staff was helpful, attentive, friendly, and welcoming. The interior is beautiful with a clean simple wood and stone aesthetic. Beautiful views from the dining areas as well as the beach as it’s situated on a bend in the beach. So the view is more expansive. Highly recommend. May stay here on our next visit to Tulum.

Don’t go! Would not recommend this beach spot. Despite making a reservation and the entire beach being empty with many beds & chairs available, the staff would not allow us to rest on a beach chair or bed. The chairs & beds stayed open all day (no hotel guests using them) and still, Chiringuito manager refused to offer us after requesting and being paying customers (we paid a bill that was over $3500 pesos). Of all the beach clubs, avoid this one!!! Poor service and not welcoming

Incredible and dreamy place. Words cannot describe how beautiful and mellow this place was. From the beginning you feel relaxed. Beach access is super easy, free parking, good breakfast, small but serene pool, service was great. Prices were reasonable. Location was perfect. WOULD DEFINITELY RETURN AND RECOMMEND

My wife, our baby, and both sides of our family have been coming here for the past year. You will have no complaints staying at this hotel or visiting this hotel. This hotel has the obvious energy of a place that wants to be the very best in the hotel zone, a lot of thought goes into every detail (which is NOT something we can say for most of the other hotels near by) Mercedes the manager especially has made all of our stays amazing, this is essentially our second home and a lot of memories have been made here.

We stayed down the beach and walked to Chiringuito for a late lunch. The vibe was great. We had a table in the sand overlooking the beach. The food was outstanding and the most amazing part was the service. I can't remember the last time I had service like this. We ordered food and a bottle of tequila and our waiter Gregorio was incredibly attentive. He would do the most subtle things that made the biggest difference. If your ice was melting, he would switch it out. He served the paella with the most care. Everything was perfect, not over the top and we'll definitely be coming back. He made our afternoon incredibly special. Thank you GREGORIO.
