It's very locak market near dist.1. I think this is the nearest market as very local market. Surely there are some market in dist.1, but they have been no more local market, targetting to foreigner a bit. Obviously the target this market is local people. So the price is cheap. It's also located beside river and the opposit side of the river is zoo. Anyway it's good to come here if you feel local market.

The local local market that expats should visit. It is the model of cover-market originally from France. There are some small roads inside in a well-arranged shape. The price is a bit higher than other local markets but the ambience and the feeling it brings is quite comfortable and energetic to me. The architecture of the neighborhood makes me feel relaxing as well. There are some crowded food stall/store nearby. One is the 'banh mi' (baguette) stall which has a good patê, opens around 4pm til 2am of the next day. Price is 15k for one. Another is a noodle store which is famous of the Aromatic broth with Roasted ducked and egg noodle. Price is 80k/bowl (~ $4). You should try.

My childhood market. It got rebuilt but the lay out is basically the same. You can find tons of good eateries around and inside the market.
