A charming vintage Asian fusion restaurant with nostalgic décor and creative flavors. Traditional Asian dishes are thoughtfully reimagined with modern twists. Every bite feels comforting yet exciting, paired with attentive service and a cozy, timeless atmosphere that makes dining here truly enjoyable.

If you’re looking for laksa just like grandma used to make, this is not the place. Chocha serves very innovative food but with traditional Malaysian ingredients. I loved their take on ‘otak otak’ - ordinarily fish cake but they did a veggie mash of fern leaves, mushrooms and bamboo shoots. Also I loved their grilled wing bean and okra salad and homemade donuts n ice cream for desert. Portions are small so it’s more like tapas. Think of it as an opportunity to build your own tasting sampler. I’ve been to this restaurant twice. It’s particularly good for dinner as they offer their own prefix tasting menu. Also it’s 5 minutes walk to all the speakeasies in Chinatown which makes this restaurant a great starting point for a night on the town.

I’ve visited this restaurant several times, and every visit continues to surprise me with its delicious and creative dishes. The ambiance is elegant and beautifully designed, making it such a pleasant place to dine. One of the highlights is their exclusive selection of house wines, which truly elevates the overall experience and sets the restaurant apart. A restaurant with such thoughtful design, great food, and curated wines definitely deserves high praise.

Nasi ulam and Umai are very tasty! For the otak-otak, it is something new but lack of flavour. The portion for each dishes area relatively small. Not worth the price. The building has an open concept, but they do have air conditioning around the dining area. The open area in the middle is quite warm and stuffy, not to forget we get mosquitoes bite too.🙃 Overall experience is good.

Google
Skip the nasi ulam. Fried chicken is so-so. Service was good though — we appreciated the server’s friendliness and attentiveness.

Google
Newly opened for weekday lunch serving a short (4 items) and succinct lunch menu. All items were delicious. Prawn noodle albeit heavily seasoned was creative with great texture and complex flavours. Tongue sarnie was satisfying but probably too small for a meal by itself. Looking forward to more choices. Service could have been faster but don’t think they have got their weekday lunch set up in full swing just yet.

What an absolute treat this was. We ordered all of the appetizers and veg/non veg dishes and it was such a wonderful combination of flavors, texture, fragrant spices plated beautifully without being fussy. Would recommend to anyone visiting

Amazing atmosphere, perfect for a date night. The food felt familiar yet full of surprises, with local flavors blended in such a gentle and thoughtful way. My favorite has to be their nasi ulam udang salai, absolutely delightful!

Yelp
The ambience is truly next level. The architect's touch is pure art. Sit in the area closest to the kitchen, past the bar. If you're lucky it will start raining and the effect is amazing. The food was so delicious! So fresh and unique- I have never had any of these dishes and they were fantastic. I could see the chef at work and could see the care he and his staff were taking. Finally the service was wonderful! Very attentive and truly flawless. I feel like this is more than a great meal. It was an incredible experience!! A must-do while in KL.

Yelp
I have been meaning to stop by this place; but more for its architectural work than anything else (I'm an architect myself). But I was surprised to find that the food here is actually quite delicious - the menu is small, but creative and different from most other "hipster" cafes that serves up mediocre sandwiches and pastas. The food served here takes your average dish and spins it - and succeeds!

Yelp
We walked quite a long way to eat here, as the menu and decor looked interesting. We arrived at 9:45, and were told that the kitchen had closed at 9:30. We asked if their listed closing time of 11pm was correct, and were told yes, but they weren't serving anyone. Closing your kitchen AN HOUR AND A HALF early is ridiculous. I won't bother trying to come back given the terrible service.

Yelp
Very good modern fusion place, a bit on the hipster side. Hidden at the very end of Chinatown's Petaling street, a bit obscure from the outside (no name, only "restoran") but draws locals already when it opens at 11 sharp.

Yelp
This is a wonderful place, tucked in a back corner of the Chinatown area. It's located in the small Mah Lian Hotel building. The staff members are friendly and efficient. The decent-sized food menu has a variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. While the drinks menu has teas, juices, wines, and a few craft beers. The food was excellent and plates come with good-sized servings. We tried the bang-bang chicken and the pesto noodles; I would order those again, but I look forward to trying more of their menu as well. I thought this was a little pricier than many places around here -- about RM20+ for many menu items, as well as for the drinks -- but it wasn't too bad. Cho Cha's decor is simple, warm, and comfortable, with light-toned wood furnishings, and unfinished or aged concrete walls. An open area mid-restaurant lets in natural light. Two areas upstairs look intriguing but were closed when I was there -- one seems like it may have small dining rooms, while the other seems to be a small cocktail bar, with an emphasis on herbal flavors.

Yelp
Unique little place. Worth a trip just for the ambiance. And the cincalok fried chicken!

Yelp
Absolutely wonderful and creative food served by an incredibly attentive and helpful staff. My wife requires gluten-free food, and our server patiently and professionally took her through the menu, and had the chef make needed adjustments to our food. A fantastic experience.

Yelp
I must say that I'm impressed with the decorations of this cafe. It makes u feels very comfortable the moment you enter this place. The staff are very friendly and attentive. I tried their duck rice and Aglio Olio, well balanced and taste good. Very nice presentation. Some of the menu are a bit overpriced. But I'm looking forward to try the rest of the menu. Drink list are limited. But I guess it's a healthy choice. They have cold brews tea of many selections. Give it a try. Of course you may asked for hot tea upon special request. They do serve beers and wine too. Don't be shy to share a table with strangers. U might make new friends

Yelp
A+ for ambience and feel. However, the food is a little overpriced and okay. Good. Not bad, but not great. Very friendly and attentive staff. A friend and I came here on a Friday afternoon and the place was pretty packed with office folks for lunch. If you're not paying attention, you could easily walk by and never notice this place. It's a little subtle and hidden from the outside with no official signboard but the inside is very charming and beautiful. Love the aesthetic. There's a parking lot right next to the row of shops where Chocha is at that charges RM4 per hour for parking. The usual overpriced KL parking rates but the good thing is you don't have to leave your keys with them.

Yelp
A trendy fusion eatery. Lovely decor based on old colonial shoplot from a bygone era. Original rough walls. Very nice. Food was well done. Tried a multitude of dishes. Most worked really well. The duck was interesting, my dinner partner liked it but I am still ambivalent. Overall, I recommend.

Yelp
The cured fish rice (RM 30) was enjoyable...mackerel went well with the rice , egg ... the Ulam Stew Barley rice (RM 28) was unique but gets tiring after a few mouthfuls The sencha tea was refreshing. Ambience great ... overall pretty enjoyable dinner but pricy ...

Yelp
The interior aesthetic is very nice and calming, with blue, teal, and off green tiling and even some hints of pink. The menu has a lot of nice options and I appreciate that you can get almost anything here including teas, beers, wines, and varying food items. It allows you to have different experiences either alone or with loved ones. You can get tea for a daytime meeting or beer with some old friends. BUT, they don't have any coffee options which is definitely a downfall for some people. I was craving a latte this morning but luckily I love tea and they had so many different tea options that you can't be too upset. The outdoor area is very nice as well when it isn't pouring. I do feel a little odd and guilty sitting in this building which was an old brothel. WiFi is great!
