One of my favorite hotpot in the area, they recently opened up a all you can eat menu for $39.99 per person! I love this idea so much, we all get to enjoy what we love and don’t need to order a bunch of different things. I sometimes only wanted a few bites of certain things especially the desserts!!! So glad they have that all you can ear option so we don’t waste the food! Not sure how long this would be going, hoping they have all you can eat forever!!! Although I think the broth is less flavorful, I like the broth that’s served in Manhattan. Still good tho.

Google
Absolutely amazing experience. Loved all the food. Very fresh ingredients, really hearty soup base. We got the meat multiple times and we got the all you can eat special and it was just amazing I would definitely go back for it especially because of the desserts they were so creative and interesting and great to mix and match and the broth was so freaking hearty I can't emphasize it enough. When we walked in they also had a little snacks in case you had a long wait and they are very on the books about timing so if you have a 9:30 booking you will be seated at 9:30 100%. They also have an hour and a half time limit but they were flexible with that when we were there cuz we were a late booking and they had room in the restaurant just lucky but they're very professional and very good service I would tell anyone to go there because you're going to eat well and have a good time cuz the decor is awesome and very cool to watch them cut the fresh meat if I had to recommend something to try I'm going to say everything 100%

Google
Normally i don’t go all you can eat restaurants. But this one i make me want to come back. The bar section is great choice. The meat quality is pretty decent. I ordered tomato broth. It’s pretty good. I also like the sauce that they make it. I guess it’s a signature sauce they will ask you when they take broth orders. Get it!!

My friend recommend me to come here because the food so good, when I come here I’m not regret it… I did the premium all you can eat buffet. The quality of the meat pork & beef are good. I like the variety of vegetable. The seafood section is great as well the shrimp so fresh. The service is great too, server attend our table all the time. Gary taking care of us very well. I will come back!!

Google
The Dolor Shop is a great hot pot spot! For just $39.99, you get all you can eat. The rib eye is top-notch for beef lovers, and there's a good variety of veggies. The service is fantastic, and the place is super clean. Highly recommend! Ps. They no longer have sukiyaki broth😭

Google
This hot pot place is a must have. They offering unlimited hotpot for the month of September and it’s really worth the value at $40 and extra 6 for unlimited drink. The tomato base soup is really to die for and doesn’t make your mouth dry after eating it. One of the few hot pot places in flushing that is clean, friendly service and great selection of food. Must try if you are or near flushing and enjoy eating hot pot.

Google
CHOCHO offers a wide variety of appetizers, desserts, meats, seafoods and vegetables. The self serve station is clean and well stocked. Beef are cut to order and were delivered promptly by the staff. Lemon water is served by default for free. Other beverages can be made to order for an additional charge of $2.99 which includes free refills. Canned beverages can also be ordered and varies in price. The hotpot soup base is quite standard. But everything was delicious!

Google
Came on Good Friday for lunch. There was a bit of a wait and everyone needs to be check-in on a wait-list via a tablet by the entrance. I believe you can also check-in on Yelp. The place is bright and clean. They offer 2 levels of AYCE buffet. There is a basic option for $19.99 and a premium option with all the beef and seafood for about $40. You can also add on premium dish a-la-carte. Made a bad decision and got the 2 flavor soup base, the pot is very small and with a divider inside the pot, which restrain amount of food you can put in. The food bar is a bit tight to move around and you may get stuck if there is a slow mover... ordered a rib eye as add on, the slides are paper thin and you can see through them. Our waiter refill our broth frequently without been asking, which is nice. The refilling of food can be a bit slow, there are empty dishes at the food bar.

Yelp
In love with this place! The ambiance is just too adorable! I couldn't stop staring, lovely colors. Very clean and spotless. The food was beautiful to look at, along with the cutie panda jelly table! The service is quick and kind. Definitely took care of us Best part! BYOB - SOJU!

Yelp
This location is closing. Their Lease ends on the 28th August 2024 and they won't be renewing.. They have a Dollar shop in Manhattan still, that will do all you can eat after 9:00 p.m.

Yelp
If I could insert a gif of Oprah with the quote, "and you get a hotpot and you get a hotpot!" it'd go here. Everybody gets their own hotpot! Now for the Broth. Spicy with bone broth and Bone broth with tomato were pretty good. Next time, I want to try sukiyaki. As for the A La carte premium options I think the beef tongue is the only one I'd recommend. The "Wagyu" I would pass on this. $35 add on and this was really not great. Beef tongue, though, is 10/10. It was an ample portion. The AYCE beef favorite that I'd highly recommend: Beef prime. It's the most tender. We tried a lot of meat types. Variety in the buffet bar gets a 10/10: Quail eggs, winter melon, pea leaves, taro, beef tripe brown natural type, fish cake, imitation crab, shrimp, Duck blood fun pudding texture, sesame balls, and fried buns. Amazing variety. I'd come back for this buffet bar. Dessert bar is also a 10/10: Fresh dragon fruit, mangoes, ice jelly, osmanthus syrup, coconut milk, pan Dan jelly, soft serve with a cute panda! Amazing fruit choices: The freshest pineapples from honey glow. There are cantaloupe and mangoes. I even saw the chef peeling FRESH lychees! I'm not sure what they were for but it's still so neat. Sauces: Housemade old fashioned Beijing sauce, shrimp sa cha, and fried garlic are all fantastic options. But again these are totally up to you and your personal taste. Service 10/10 Dedicated server for each section. Super attentive. Best service in a AYCE hot pot. Ridesharing here was the go to option.

Yelp
Had a review draft from this place from a long time ago that was never posted, this used to be one of my top hot pot places to go in flushing, but quality went down with it being AYCE now. Make reservation before you go! It's a popular dinner spot. Staff is friendly and the food is decent. You can refill the side dishes, but the options were kinda average. Everyone gets their own pot which is good and pick your own broth. The ingredients are in the front but meat you'll need to order on the side. The ice cream is cute at the end!

Yelp
I've had "The Dolar Shop" before and loved my experience except for the price. Once I found out CHOCHO was opened by the same Dolar Shop Group, I had to try. Upon entry I already loved the place because I was welcomed by a huge selection of hotpot ingredients to choose from and a dessert bar. Yes, you heard me correctly, a DESSERT BAR. The price per person is $42.99 for all you can eat within 2hrs, which is decently priced compared to the dolar shop in manhattan where you pay $9.99 for the broth alone and each additional hotpot ingredient is an additional charge. You can see how the prices could add up pretty quickly as the portion for each ingredient is also on the smaller side. However, for CHOCHO, not only can you order unlimited meat that are USDA prime, you also have an huge selection of ingredients that range from seafood to egg rolls. They offer the same sauce bar as the dolar shop with free pineapples, melons, and roasted peanuts, and also offer their housemade hotpot sauce upon seating. Even though they offer a dessert bar, they still offer a free ice cream cone at the end upon request and we opted for the green tea flavor. The ice cream came out better than expected because they included a panda marshmallow and matcha pocky sticks which elevated the free ice cream experience to another level. The service was also phenomenal. The waiters were super attentive on filling my water, bringing out the meats in a timely manner, and even provided a jacket bag for my white jacket so it didn't get dirty. Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend CHOCHO over the dolar shop because you are getting all the same benefits, but just for a fraction of the price. For sure my new favorite hotpot spot in the New York and I will for sure be coming back over and over again.

Yelp
Overall: 4.5/5 Food: I loveee the side bar with all the desserts. You can make your own iced jelly. It's super good. There's a good selection of food and also soft serve at the end of the meal. The meats are fresh and sliced thinly so it was really good. My favorite side would be the brown sugar rice cakes. The only thing I would dock off points is everyone gets their own ingredients and its open out in the open so its not very sanitary. Service/ambiance: The service was good, you order meats with them and they're very nice. There's a nice ambiance inside where the seats give you some privacy.

Yelp
Paid: $42/person Food: 5/5 Average selection of hotpot goods. The thing that sets this place apart from the rest is the buffet bar type style for their seafood. You can tell everything is fresh. There's also free ice cream topped with a panda marshmallow at the end! Service: 4/5 There was a point in time where we were unable to reach a server for water. We had run out. The water they give is in this small glass bottle. 1.5 refills and it was all used up. Ambiance: 5/5 Very beautifully decorated. But I think with some aspects (water) the sacrifice was made in functionality to provide aesthetic.

Yelp
Food: This is one of my favorite AYCE hot pot restaurants in NYC for its food quality and selection as well as ambiance. The price is $42.99 per person which includes meats, all other self-serve hot pot items, dessert, and one soft serve ice cream cone at the end of the meal. Meats are ordered from the staff. There are six different cuts of beef (ribeye, oyster blade, fatty beef, etc.), lamb, and chicken. Quality of the meats are excellent, and the presentation is nice. You can see a staff member slicing the meat fresh using a meat slicer in the back of the restaurant through a window. All other hot pot items are self-serve from their buffet bar. Items include many kinds of vegetables (watercress, tong ho, cabbage, kelp knots, lettuce, spinach, snow pea shoots, mushrooms, potato, taro, wood ear mushrooms, broccoli, Chinese yam, etc.), fish balls, fish roe balls, fish balls filled with salted egg yolk, beef balls, shrimp, mussels, squid, fish fillet, tripe, tofu, fried tofu skin rolls, and more. There is a section of noodles (egg noodles, udon, fresh noodles, and instant ramen). There are also sesame balls, fried mantou (buns) with condensed milk, fried dough sticks, and fried mochi with brown sugar. The selection is huge, and all items are fresh and good quality. There is also a section to build your own jelly dessert using fruit juices, syrups, boba, red bean, green bean, jellies, and other toppings. It's a refreshing dessert after having hot pot. Sauce bar is also great. Soup bases include spicy mala, pork bone, mushroom, or a combination of two. Each person has their own individual pot (no big pots). Service: Service is below average and has a lot of room for improvement. The server comes to take your initial soup base and meat order, but after that, it's hard to get someone's attention especially after they get busier. Empty and dirty dishes aren't collected too frequently. Water isn't refilled unless you ask someone to. Food comes out quickly after ordering. We brought a birthday cake to cut and eat at the end of our meal (which the restaurant said they are happy to do without an additional charge). The birthday cake was brought out before any dishes were cleared. I started to move our dirty dishes to the next table (which was our table as well for our large group), but the staff members still didn't help clear the dishes even after seeing me clear the dishes myself. Service could be a lot better! Ambiance: The ambiance is excellent. The place is well-lit, and the decor is beautiful. Good for both small and large groups. The seating and tables are very comfortable. Overall, I highly recommend this place!

Yelp
Overall delicious AYCE hotpot place. Each person gets their own mini-pot with their own broths, which is quaint. Got the half tomato, half spicy broth. The spicy broth is spicy and buttery, it's like coating the meat in a rich chili oil. The meat offerings vary so much in quality. Some were excellent quality cuts eg the boneless short plate (ended up ordering like 15 of those) or the pork belly or a couple other beef cuts (honestly don't know which ones, not very clear). Most of the other selections are tough and not too flavourful, would not recommend. But the boneless short plate was very delicious however - juicy, perfect fattiness, so savory - and makes the meat quality here seem incredible. For the non-meat offerings, the quail eggs, fish roe balls, and salted egg yolk fish balls were amazing. And it's AYCE, so I ate SO MANY eggs :) The salted egg yolk fish balls in particular were quite special, the salted egg yolk was buttery and umami and custardy. However, I felt the other complimentary offerings were a bit questionable. The bean curd tofu and tripe tasted off and not fresh. The sweet milky drizzle over the fried dough sticks was delicious, but it would have been nice to have the fried dough sticks served fresh and hot, rather than sitting on a tabletop getting stale. I was a bit disappointed about their offerings they have that cost a premium. I understand wagyu costing extra, but a staple like the shrimp paste should not. Curious about the wagyu cuts and the beef tongue, will be back. The complimentary ice cream at the end was a really nice touch and was very refreshing. It ended the meal on a high note!

Yelp
The food was good, broth was clean and savory. We opted for the market table not including the ayce meat option and we had a wonderful time. The price was $20 per person, so worth it. We came after the gym and they had chicken on the self serve table and it was great. Nice selection of meat balls and veggies, everything was super fresh. We came around 9, but the servers were not as attentive compared to other restaurants. The interior of this restaurant was very nice and beautiful. Would come again and super worth your money.

This ice cream is so good. You really need to come for this ice cream. The food is amazing too and the staff is very attentive and helpful.

Yelp
Finally got to try The Dolar Shop- they currently have an AYCE promotion! ** Make a RSVP or join the Yelp Waitlist and make sure you check in with the worker with the iPad when you arrive. Once they check you in, it should say "You've been checked in by the host" on your Yelp App. We told one of the workers that we joined the waitlist on Yelp, she acknowledged us and asked us to have a seat while we wait. I did not realize she did not actually check us in... and once it said we were next in line, I saw other parties being seated before us. (Folks who had no RSVPs and were not on the waitlist prior). We finally asked the worker how much longer the wait would be and that's when we were finally "checked in". We had to wait ~15 more minutes after that, super frustrating. When we finally got seated, we we were starved and eager to eat! I got the tomato broth and my BF got the spicy/ creamy pork. You order the meat from the waiters and get the other veggies, noodles, seafood items at the self serve bar. The sauce bar had everything I needed and was clean. Meat wise, we both liked the prime beef brisket the best. I was also pleased with the variety at the self serve bar. I also appreciated that they had a dessert bar with delicious hami-melon, sweet pineapple, grapes, fried mantou and more. I do wish that they used slightly bigger plates, it was definitely difficult to place food on there without making multiple trips. Service was excellent- our waiters were extremely attentive, taking away our empty plates and refilling our water. Overall, we had a pretty good experience and I'd come back.

Yelp
Wow, what an experience! We had a couple of novice friends join us and it was probably the best experience for people that had bad hotpot experiences in the past. Only the broth and the meat are ordered by wait staff, so anything else you add is based on how much you pick out from the ingredients area. Meat was good quality, sliced before served. We went on the weekend and reserved earlier, so no wait time and very smooth experience. Our friends absolutely loved the food, service and the spot. All in all, 10/10!

Yelp
Decent AYCE hot pot for $39.99 in the heart of Flushing. You can also get all you can drink canned sodas and other drinks for $5.99, which becomes a good deal as long as you get more than 2 drinks per person. When you get seated, you first pick your broth (2 of the options allow you to go half and half) and the meats from the menu. Once done, you walk over to the room that has all the veggies, tofu, noodles, seafood, and meat/fish balls to fill up your plate(s). This room can get rather crowded and chaotic as everyone makes a run for the most requested items. I sadly didn't get to try the enoki mushrooms as the bowl was empty by the time I got there. The tomato broth was phenomenal, but the spicy broth tasted average. Despite having ordered 6 different kinds of meat, all meats tasted the same and had a rather rough / hard to chew texture. I honestly enjoyed the veggies and tofu a lot more than the meats due to this. They have a generous selection of do it yourself desserts with a section for ice jelly, red bean, various fruits, and sweet and sesame buns. At the end of your meal, you can also get ice-cream. The green tea soft serve ice-cream was delicious! Ample seating available, but would recommend making a reservation for parties larger than 2 just in case. You get your individual hot pot cooking bowl, which makes food consumption less fun but also less complicated!

Yelp
One of the best hotpot in Flushing. It's a premium AYCE hotpot spot with a huge selection of meat, seafood and vegetables. For those seeking an extra treat, don't miss out on the premium A5 Miyazaki Wagyu Beef and other exquisite options ( Extra Charge ) . And let's not forget the sweet finale! Get creative at their DIY dessert bar and also ask for the ice cream.

Yelp
Me and friends came during the AYCE special and it was super worth the price. We made reservations but it was busy so we went in alittle late. However, once we entered we quickly chose our broth and meat, and ran to get vegetables, fish, and noodles. Unlike alot of other hotpot places, all of the ingredients tasted high quality and clean. The meat particularly was really good and definitely worth the AYCE price. The other AYCE selections such as the free icecream and condensed milk with fried buns were also super delicious. I wish the AYCE offer was forever .

Yelp
This review is for the AYCE option which has been extended thru September now. First off, the a la carte version of dolar shop has been my fav hot pot ever, ever since I first had it in Manhattan last winter. I was so hyped when I found out they had an AYCE option in flushing! Although the quality of course isn't the same as the a la carte version, it's still pretty top tier quality for a very standard price for AYCE hot pot ($40/pp). I got the closest version to exquisite silver soup that there was in the AYCE menu, which was the first one on the list I think (called "creamy" something). Dolar shop broth is one of my favorite things about it. In terms of meat, they don't have the premium cru beef on AYCE menu but you can still order it a la carte for half price. The meats that do come with AYCE were solid though but my favorite part was surprisingly the unlimited fresh noodles bc boiled in this amazing broth.... Yupppp. The ayce section is also lit af bc they have a bunch of items just laid out for you to grab yourself (except meats and broth which you ask your server for) - like fresh noodles, veggies, seafood, tofu products, even fried dough (you tiao) and Chinese desserts too! Ofc service and overall facilities of the restaurant (like fancy bathrooms and waiting area) remain top tier bc it's dolar shop.

Yelp
I always enjoyed Dolar Shop but enjoy it even more as an AYCE! The market table has a pretty wide variety of selections and I feel like despite the transition from a la carte to AYCE, the quality was not greatly sacrificed. I make my sauce with the same ingredients whenever I go hotpot, but somehow, my sauce always turns out spectacular here! The broth is always very delicious too - I enjoy the spicy, the exquisite silver soup, as well as the tomato based soup. The meats are kind of small portioned - I would recommend getting at least 1 plate per person if you are into meat at hotpot. They also have ice cream here and dessert here! No matter how full I am, the ice cream is always a refreshing palette cleanser. Service has been consistently good each time I've visited. Be prepared to wait on the weekends! They have a waiting list so at least you can walk around flushing to kill time.

Yelp
Came at 6pm on a Sunday and the wait was like 2 minutes. I liked how clean and sleek looking the restaurant was. I ordered the tomato broth and loved the flavor. My favorite meat was the Boneless Short Plate! It was so tender and the fattiness made it taste very rich and flavorful. Also love how you can pick your own hotpot ingredients yourself so you can take the exact amount you want. The bingfen bar is also a plus! And the green tea ice cream was phenomenal and so cute! This place is quickly becoming my favorite AYCE hotpot place in NYC!

Yelp
$40 AYCE September special is so worth it. They have a variety of diff meats included in this, but the menu also had more premium items that were half off. They have a whole room dedicated to food you can grab - veggies, noodles, seafood, meatballs/fish balls, sweets and fruits. You can add all you can drink for $6. The quality of the soups were on par. The one thing different from my prior experiences is that the pork broth doesn't already come with the side of chicken and pork intestines, but you can get it yourself. Although it just didn't taste the same. It was extremely warm the day that we went, kind of wish they had iced water. But otherwise, service was great. They still give ice cream at the very end!
google avatar

Yelp
Wait here on a weekend is crushing. We missed our reservation slot by 17 minutes and had to wait over 2 hours for a two person AYCE table! For the $40/pp AYCE deal I don't have much to complain about. The meat quality was a-ok, not stand-out, not bad. Did the job. For an additional $6/pp you get a drink buffet, which includes various soft drinks, and some fruity floats--which to myself, were a little too sweet for me. The rest of the options though...blew my mind! In the AYCE option you are funneled to this section where you get a ton of veggie, meatball, and dessert varieties. Service was decent. Our server was nice but forgot about our requests a bunch of times. The restaurant itself is suuuuper busy and a little noisy.

Yelp
Absolutely stunned by the number of raving reviews on here. I came here for the August AYCE special and was stunned by how poor the food and service was. I've long heard from many friends that the meat here is very high quality compared to other hot pot places. I ordered several classic dishes to try and honestly found nearly every one of them to be inedible or having a weird taste / smell as if its rotten. Perhaps their AYCE special was just to get rid of spoiled meat? A lot of the dishes were put out in a separate section of the restaurant for people to grab but for whatever reason, they don't have labels on any of them! This is no bueno if anyone has food allergies... or simply wants to know what they are putting in their mouth. The service was also horrendous as I kept asking them to bring out half servings but they refused and brought out huge servings of a single item - which prevented us from trying a variety given there's only 2 of us. In the end, the waitress came over and told us that next time if we left food on the table they would charge us. I calmly explained that we asked them for half servings because we wouldn't finish whole servings but they refused. The lady then tried to continue arguing with me and brought out a pamplet explaining their policies, which I found incredibly rude and disrespectful. The decor was the best part about this place as it is the fanciest looking hot pot place I've been to, but everything else is extremely lackluster. Please avoid.

Yelp
Came here on a sunday night 9pm and there was no wait. They have to options to choose from which are both AYCE. First option is everything on the menu including meats which is 36.99. The other option is veg, fish balls, desserts for 19.99 (available everyday after 9pm) meat and seafood are an addition $5 per plate. They also have a drinks aycd (all you can drink) which includes plum juice, soy milk, and milk tea (2.99) per person, not everyone on your table needs to get this. Everyone on your table needs to choose the same ayce option. The ayce is self serve which is located at the front of the store. You can choose your own portion of food. They also have bing fan and fruits. You get your own pot which you can select up to 2 different broths. The drinks were alright. The food and experience was good, but deducted 2 stars due to having 2 people in my group getting a stomach ache after.

Yelp
NEW AYCE FOR $40 A PERSON Surprisingly in all these years it was my first time. Service was great. The food quality and selection was excellent. I went on a Monday and it was 80% full. I would definitely come back. Favorite cuts: oyster blade beef, and ribeye beef The cooked foods in the self service area is also great

Yelp
The restaurant feels so spacious, bright and clean. It's an all you can eat spot so come hungry. They do take reservations which makes the entire experience more streamlined. They have their own DIY dessert jelly bar so that was fun. The service here is friendly and attentive. They do take credit cards

Yelp
Fresh and bountiful selection of meats, seafood and vegetables, but not $42.99 worth of "premium" compared to current AYCE hotpot places. No crab, no oysters, no jumbo shrimp, no wagyu (available separately a-la-carte), but plenty of chicken, beef, frozen seafood, vegetables, fruit, desserts, etc. KPot, 99 Favor, Spring, Yasaiya, Happy Lamb, Lao Shen all offer similar fare for about 30% less. If you want "premium" 37 Xiang offers seafood, sashimi, premium beef, AYCE hotpot for about $9 more. Selection here is not bad, but many, many better options for AYCE hotpot are available.
google avatar

Yelp
One of the best hot pot places in NYC, their AYCE menu is perfect for someone who loves eating both hot pot & dessert. I love that their all you can eat is served buffet style, meaning you get to go up to their "all you can eat" room, and choose what you want and how much of it you want. It's way better than ordering, because you can choose us little or as much as you want- This way, you get to try a little bit of everything. My go to for soup here is the split broth of pork bone & tomato. The pork bone broth is fresh, creamy and tastes clean; the tomato broth is rich and packed with flavor. My friend and I ordered their oysters (which is extra $$) but they were so worth it. It came with 4 very large oysters, almost as big as my hand- it tasted amazing, with my soy sauce mixture. Drinks- For $5 extra, you could do their "all you can drink" - we tried their : -Virgin Orange Blue Curacao Float : 2 of 5 : did not taste right -Pink Strawberry Float : 3 of 5 : maybe the floats just arent my thing (They unfortunately did not have their passion fruit syrup but that probably would have been my favorite option of the 3) Dessert: I love their fruit bar and dessert bar- their dessert bar included sweet buns and condensed milk for topping. Their was also tapioca balls to add into your own "fruit bowl." The service was great, our server came by often to check in on us, and even when he wasn't around; there were other servers around as well, that we got help from. Ambiance: The restaurant was bright and sectioned into different parts, it created kind of like an illusion to make the restaurant seem big and roomy. I can't wait to go back to this restaurant, I think about it so much. If you're deciding on where to go for dinner, this is definitely the spot.

Yelp
Formerly The Dolar Shop, it's now called ChoCho. Went in on a Saturday afternoon and there was no wait. They offer reservations on Google and Yelp though. This is all you can eat hotpot at $43 per person. The inside is spacious and very well lit. Plain decor compared to other hotpot places. The meats were good quality. The broth was well seasoned. I recommend the creamy bone broth! Their veggie and self serve section was kinda lacking. Wish there was more variety. Loved the dessert bar. They also have soft serve ice cream but the green tea ice cream ran out when we were there. If you're driving, they have 2 hour complimentary parking at the nearby garage on Prince St.

Yelp
The hot pot was pretty great - very diverse broths to choose from and even featured vegan "fish balls" (that had to be ordered off menu like the meats - NOT with the rest of the fish balls and veggies, which was a bit unclear the first time I went but not a problem). The milk tea we ordered was delish. Only thing to be weary of is the somewhat tight quarters and sequestered layout of the food in the front and sauces located a bit apart.

Yelp
Great place for AYcE hot pot. Great choice of meat selection. There is also a buffet area where you can get your veggies, fish, noodles, and other items. They also have choice of broth and you can combine 2 different broths of your choice. There's plenty to eat...so come hungry. Best to make a reservation - they get busy.

Yelp
The Pros- AYCE with quality food/ingredients, superb service and clean spacious environment. The Cons- Less variety of food options in comparison to other hotpot places. This used to be the Dolar Shop and now it's ChoCho by the Dolar Shop. Always wanted to try this place when it was the Dolar Shop but now that it's AYCE, there's no reason not to try it. First and foremost, driving and venturing into Flushing can be a painful experience so save yourself time and take public transportation. The Tangram parking lot ain't too pricey and pretty spacious if you really have to drive. Honestly most AYCE hotpot comes pretty standard nowadays so I'll just point out things that really stood out to me here and they are: Restaurant Ambience, Food Quality, and Service. Restaurant Ambience- My first impression, the place is nice, bright and clean. Most of the seating are booth seating on one end and chairs on the other but both are spacious and comfortable. Btw their lightings are definitely made for the perfect photo. Food Quality- Probably one of the most impressive element here is the food quality- especially the meat, you can tell it's very fresh, with a nice color and doesn't have a slimy texture. The meat tasted juicy and not dry (unless u overcook it), my favorite cut was definitely the Prime Chuck Eye Roll, it had a good balance of fat to meat ratio, doesn't taste dry and it isn't as greasy as the Boneless Short Plate (aka the Fatty Beef). Side note, you can also order other premium cuts for 50% off but we opted out since we are not huge meat eaters (HA not true we just didn't want to pay extra). One thing I really do appreciate is their portion control, every meat we ordered comes in their own individual plate (not 5 orders on one plate) and is measured to 100g each (according to the menu), perfect for anyone who needs to count their calorie intake or needs a nice Gram photo (we literally had 10 different plates of 100g meat on the table). You can also pay $2.99 for unlimited refill of plum juice, soy milk and milk tea, which I think is a great deal! The soy milk and milk tea were both creamy and smooth with nice amount of sweetness to balance out those meat. Ah how can I forget about self-serve station and sauce station, the way it works is you order meats from the server, everything else is self-serve in another area. The self-serve area contains everything from veggies to seafood to cooked food and desserts. From what I can see, everything looks nice and fresh, things get replenish pretty often and I appreciate the fact that they don't lay out a lot of food all at once so food ain't just sitting out collecting dust. The sauce station is replenish and cleaned frequently so that tasty minced garlic ain't dry up and you won't see spilled sauces all over the place, which is a big plus in my book! Service- Their service is pretty amazing, there's a designated server for every 4 tables or so. We went on a less busy night so our server was basically standing next to our table and taking our emptied plates out as quickly as possible to make room for another round. Our drinks were never empty (that $2.99 well worth) and neither were our broth, our server went out of her way to take good care of us from the beginning to the end when she brought us that cute panda ice cream. My only very minor negative for this place is some people might find a lack of food variety here. Don't quote me on it but from what I remembered- there are about 5-7 different choices of green veggies, a couple of different types of shrooms, couple of common balls like fish balls, beef balls, cuttlefish balls, fish roe balls and veggie balls, then about 3-4 types of noodles, seafood like shrimp, squid, mussels and fish and random stuff like tripes, spam, imitation crabmeat and quail egg, that basically made up the self-serve station. I personally don't focus too much on the self-serve stuff but it could be deter people who are looking for lots of varieties. A positive I do have to note is they are quite vegetarian friendly, there are multiple vegetarian broths along with a small dedicated menu for plant based food. Price is $42.99 for dinner, $36.99 for lunch and late night past 9pm (prices as of writing). Price wise I think it's pretty reasonable especially if you are a big meat eater. Overall ChoCho by the Dolar shop is shaping up to become one of my favorite hotpot in Flushing, the food quality is great, service is excellent and the restaurant is spacious, comfortable and clean. Although there might be a lack of varieties on food but it more than make up for it with everything else. Hopefully ChoCho stays good and if it does, maybe I will finally have a reason to drive out to Flushing again.

Yelp
I ordered the Chef's Creamy Pork Broth and it was absolutely DELICIOUS!!!!! I love a creamy and rich broth so when I saw that they offered a creamy version of my go to pork broth I was so excited. I would come back here just for their creamy pork broth.

Yelp
Solid place for AYCE hotpot in Flushing. The food options are limited to an a la carte place, but the meat is very fresh and comes fast when you order it. The short rib had really beautiful marbling. The sauce station is always stocked and the dessert bar is great for making a refreshing jelly dessert. There is also free soft serve at the end - the flavors were banana or green tea. The staff are very nice and service is fast. I didn't really like that the all the non-meat items were just out in the open on ice. I definitely prefer when it was dolar shop and things didn't come to your table until you ordered it. There also aren't that many options for seafood or vegetables. In particular, there was any watercress, clams, or crab. However, there are also options that other places don't have like salted duck egg fish ball and marinated pig intestines. A must get is the $2.99 unlimited drink for the sour plum juice, milk tea, or soy milk. We chose the sour plum juice which really helped with digestion and cutting through the heaviness. Our glasses were always filled so the $2.99 was very worth.

Yelp
High quality meat, nice space, good broth but not enough vegetables. The buffet area had the regular items but you order the meat with the waiter. They have green tea or vanilla ice cream on a cone, and their dessert jelly bar was fun! Service could be a little more attentive but we went on a holiday and it was busy. Overall a decent hot pot establishment but nothing really stood out for me.

Yelp
Glad this place is closing(they have location at NYU, Dolar Shop). I don't know why I give this place multiple chances. First time, came during lunch time and was discarded in a corner next to aunties blasting music on their phones. Was about to walk out after not getting service for 40 minutes. There was almost nothing left at the fried bar and the sauce area was nasty. Second time, came for dinner, food was almost inedible and got food poisoning. The third time, came for early dinner and still disappointed by overall quality. Recommend any other ayce hotpot buffet in flushing over this place. It was my mistake to keep giving this place a chance.

Yelp
The dolar shop has been on my list for ages but was a bit of a letdown. Service: They seemed a little short-staffed when I visited for lunch on a weekend, and it was a while before someone acknowledged us, but once we got seated we were able to quickly order and the food comes out fast. Food: Short rib, noodles and shiitake mushrooms were all standout items that we ordered, and the silver soup was the best broth. The watermelon juice was fresh, though I would have liked some ice because it wasn't cold. Consensus: Solid, but I usually have a better experience at Haidilao, so I will prob stick to that.

Yelp
Great value AYCE (all you can eat) hotpot in flushing. Definitely make a reservation before going as it can get packed and have a long wait. Reservations are pretty easy to get via yelp, and they have free parking on site! There are a few different areas of seating all really clean and spacious! Everyone gets their own pot with their own broths - you can choose up to two broths per pot. Their mala (spicy) broth and tomato are my favorite! Meats, drinks, and some other specialty a la carte items are available on the menu while you get fish balls, shrimp, noodles, fish, and other meats/seafood/veggies are in a separate area where you can take as much as you want. Meat quality is good and they slice it to order! Staff come by pretty often to clear off plates and refill broth! We always leave super full but eat some of their desserts and free ice cream before we go! Definitely check this place out if you like hotpot and can eat a lot!

Yelp
This is a chain that is also in manhattan, but my friends and I were in flushing area so we decided to come here. Really spacious here when you walk in, and love how modern it is. I especially love the bathroom that has things like hair brush, toothpicks, hair ties, etc. You get an iPad where you can order what you want, with pictures and descriptions of everything. This makes it pretty convenient as you can just pass it around to everyone for them to add additional items that they want. Each person gets their own hot pot bowl, which is also convenient and nice since you can add just whatever you want! I love the OG traditional broth more than the spicy version of it, as the spices were a bit too much and got oily very fast. Make sure to order a little at first and add as you go on, as we ordered way too much at first and didn't even have the table or stomach space for them!! Took some points out because of the service.. the workers kept forgetting parts of our orders and took forever to bring our sodas and water. Their veggies were pretty limited compared to other hot pot places that I have been to.

Yelp
There are so many choices to grab for the buffet. The service is always great, easy to make requests and ask for meats. The meats are fresh and good. The dessert station is kind of lacking with the ice jelly. The place is way larger than it looks from the outside and is nicely lit and look clean. But I did end up finding a dangling light above my table that they tried to tape in? The pots are also very powerful, that could be a pro or a con depending on how much your trying to eat. Makes it slightly hard to control.

Yelp
I went back after a year and was surprised to see how much has changed. I did prefer how it was originally set up before as the buffet did seem a little less organized than how it is now. A friend and I selected the vegetarian hot pot due to our dietary restrictions and it was nice to have many options. The new buffet still had the similar selections as before. However, it now included a dessert buffet section which was nice. However, it was a lot smaller than it was before. Additionally, the utensils were not in every selection, which made me concerned about cross contamination of meats, seafood and vegetables as some were placed on the same table. We did end up enjoying our food and it was nice that you can turn most broths vegetarian by asking them to substitute the meat based broth with water. The service was pretty attentive as well.

Yelp
This place had a great variety of sides and sauces for your hot pot. The meat selection was good. Downside was when we were there a lot of things were not labeled which can be dangerous due to those with potential allergies. Service was good for the first half but then our waiter disappeared but the wait staff did pick up and was helpful. The place had plenty of seating with various size of table to accommodate bigger parties. Street or garage parking available near by. Overall I think this place is a good solid choice if you are in the area.

Yelp
Came here for Mother's Day with my family and our experience was pretty good! They had quite a lot of meat varieties considering it was AYCE and the food was very fresh. The flavor of the broths were really good and I like how you can have two flavors of broth even though they use the personal hotpot. I like how they also have a small dessert bar for people to make their dessert at the end and they also offered soft serve. The restaurant got a little hot and service got slowed down when it got crowded later during the night but it was overall a great experience. Will definitely come back in the future!

Yelp
Hotpot is my FAVORITE, and I saw that The Dolar Shop was having an AYCE special in their Flushing location, so I could not miss out on the chance to try it! The interior of The Dolar Shop is beautiful. It's nicely decorated and very extravagant. We had a reservation and were seated after waiting 5 minutes after checking in. We ordered our soup and meat and headed off to the sauce, veggie, and other toppings in the designated AYCE room. They have soooo many options for hotpot toppings. It was an endless amount of veggies, fishballs, and anything else you could think about putting in your hotpot. There's something for everyone. I think they did a really good job of maintaining and stocking the topping bar as well. It didn't feel dirty or like they were running out of food. The meat options were okay. I have yet to order a la carte, but from the photos I've seen, those meat options look to be higher quality that the ones we had. I will say though, the meats were all sliced very thinly and were super tender! The service after ordering was a little slow. It wasn't like other places where the meat came out quickly after you ordered, but there was someone slicing the meats, so maybe they're all cut to order. Another great part of this AYCE special is their dessert bar. Their fruits, especially the pineapple, was incredibly sweet!! Their chrysanthemum ice jelly was also super refreshing after the hot soup. The ice cream was watery and icy but a great option to have. It's a far trek from Manhattan, but I think it's worth it for an occasional treat yourself meal. I hope they extend this special for longer!!

Yelp
The Dolar Shop is making it easy to enjoy hot pot as a vegetarian! They have three different broths that can be made vegetarian - tomato, Szechuan hot and spicy, and black truffle mushroom. As a bonus, each person gets their own pot, so you don't have to worry about anyone putting meat in your veggie broth. I did a half/half with spicy on one side and mushroom on the other, but next time I would just do the spicy. There are PLENTY of veggie options, but my personal favorites are: Spinach Wood ear mushrooms (my fave!) Hand Crafted Noodles Winter melon Lotus Root Fried Bean Curd Fresh tofu skins I also love potatoes in hot pot, but we didn't see it on the menu. The sauce station has fresh cut fruits, peanuts, kimchi and edamame, all of which were tasty. Don't forget to ask the staff for their sauce recommendations, and they'll help you make it or even make it for you! Be warned their spicy sauce is not for the faint of heart! We had a reservation for 8:30, but didn't get seated until a little after 9. There were a lot of people waiting ahead of us who also had reservations, so expect to wait. Also, the Flushing location doesn't have their liquor license, so non-alcoholic beverages only (not sure if you can BYOB). Lastly, as others have commented, it's a little on the pricier side compared to other hot pot options.

Yelp
AYCE HOTPOT SPECIAL going on right now $19.99 12pm-5pm 9pm-1am. Does not include meat. Have to order separately. $4.99 a small plate. The pork bone broth was really good. Wasn't crazy about the spicy broth... a little too oily for me.. selections of items were good for the price. Would definitely go back for the special.

Yelp
Flushing has some of the best hot pot restaurants in the city and the Dolar Shop is no exception. Nice decor, clean surroundings, incredible sauce bar, top notch service and great broths make this a great place to grab hot pot. The best broth here for me was the tomato broth, it was rich and deep. Meat quality here was also very good and every bite was excellent. Not much to add that others haven't other than I really enjoyed my experience dining here. Cost will be similar to other high end hot pot places but well worth it. Thumbs up.

Yelp
We were a large party and was there to celebrate a birthday. We got to the restaurant on time. Was greeted with a special tea drink in the waiting area with some snack treats. Luckily we made a rez and was seated right away. We opted for the AYCE special going on right now. Was told when we were seated that there was an hour and a half time limit. Surprised by that because we read online that the limit was two hours. Therefore we felt very rushed and it made us sort of uncomfortable having to pay so much and feeling rushed. In fact the manager stopped by to apologetically ask us to leave so they can give the table to waiting customers. They even asked to clean the table while we were finishing our desserts. This was a big negative in our opinion. Food was good. We ordered all the different kind of meats available. It tasted fine but frankly we didn't know what they were when it got to the table. They were sliced razor thin which cooked quickly in the soups but a little description would have been nice. So we guessed a lot of it based on the marbling and fat content. The exception was the lamb because you can sort of smell and taste the difference compared to beef. All the other choices are set out in a separate room for patrons to get. Some of the fish balls were interesting and tasty - a duck one with a filling and another with a salted egg filling were my favorites. There were maybe 5 types of fish and beef balls in total. There's around 6 types of greens to select - romaine, watercress, etc. Different types of tripe, glass noodles, pork blood, lotus and taro roots, Japanese pumpkin and mushrooms. Dessert consisted of jellies and popping bobas, cut up fruit in tiny pieces (dragon fruit, lychee, mango, etc). Reminded me of what you would expect to put over shaved ice. There were a variety of grapes. Also had fried doughs (mon tau, neen go, and jeen dui). Lastly they offer you a mini soft served ice cream cone...vanilla or green tea or combo of both. All in all it was good. Forgot to mention that the spicy soups are real spicy and they don't have the tomato and oxtail option which we heard so much about and was looking forward to trying. Only real negative was the time limit and feeling rushed. It gave us heartburn shoving the food down so quickly. They should definitely stick to a two hour option. The one and a half hour really does make a big difference. Four stars for food and service but 3 stars for overall experience. Restaurant should realize that they are not the only game in town. Fast rise can end up with a big crash...

Yelp
Went with a group of 12, we were given a private area with outstanding service the whole time. Absolutely incredible selection of ingredients and such high quality too. The service was top notch. The spicy broth is no joke. The vegetables are all so fresh and great variety of meats, all delicious. Looking forwards to bringing more people here! Many thanks to my friend Alice for this suggestion!
