How Staci Didn’t Let a Medical Condition Prevent Her Traveling

"One of my favorite experiences in the Philippines was seeing the Chocolate Hills; along with spotting tarsiers, they were a memorable highlight of the trip." - Matthew Kepnes

Great natural wonder. Its an overlook point where you can take great shots of the hills. What i like was the massage from the blind men because it helps with the pain in my feet. Highly recommended.

The unique landscape of Bohol Island requires climbing a long staircase to view the Chocolate Hills from above. The viewing platform is well-designed, allowing visitors to fully appreciate the scenery and take photos.

A beautiful natural wonder. Get there for sunrise if possible. You can't make it all the way to the top before 6am but watching from the road is still great. Some local women who were walking up the hill said for us to go all the way up, but then a man was shouting at us across the parking lot to pay.

Cool, natural & unique hills and views! Perfectly visible in dry season. Shuttle from bottom parking space and ticketing office necessary. Description and history sign's and 360° views on surrounding on top of the viewing platform. Couple of steps to climb but no wheelchair access.

I took a private tour to visit this site, at the entrance we bought a ticket 150php and my driver was given a pass. There is a free shuttle to the top or your driver can drop you at the entrance at the top. To get the best view, you have to climb a steep set of stairs where there are lots of spots to take photos. At the top, there was an attendant who took photos for groups and solo travellers. There is a small shop at the top if you want to buy snacks. At the bottom of the stairs is a toilet, gift shop and restaurant. I spent around 40 minutes at this location. The hills were green when I visited but were still beautiful.

The Chocolate Hills are truly a sight to behold! From the viewing deck, the rolling hills stretch as far as the eye can see, perfectly shaped and almost surreal. They really do look like giant chocolate drops, especially during the dry season when the grass turns brown. The place is well maintained, and the climb up to the viewing point is worth it for the breathtaking panoramic view. There are also facilities like restrooms, souvenir shops, and small stalls where you can buy snacks and local treats. I recommend going early in the morning or late afternoon for cooler weather and softer lighting it makes the scenery even more magical. Definitely a must-visit when in Bohol, and one of the most unique landscapes I’ve ever seen in the Philippines.

Definitely worth a visit. One of those sites that you sort of know what to expect having seen pictures but it’s still pretty amazing and unique as far as our groups previous travels had taken us. Short visit spot, busy but well organised. We all agreed that it seemed more than the sum of its parts.

We went there for Sun ☀️ rise and its was nice. Not a hard hike, just a few stairs and you are up. Beside the fact we were early there - we paid for entrance (100 PP per person)
