"Go to the Moose for Gifts It’s your last day in D.C. and you haven’t picked up a “thank you” gift for your lovely Aunt Julee. I know your Aunt Julee well, and I can tell you that the White House snow globe that you were hoping to pick up at the airport is not going to do the trick. So what to do? Head to Chocolate Moose, a gift shop full of imaginative, fun, and funky kitsch. For Aunt Julee, get the Elvis cutting board. She’ll love the image of Elvis done with veggies. (What can I say? You have a weird aunt.) For your favorite cousin, Omar, who acts like he’s seven, I suggest either the MooPopper or the PigPopper. And don’t forget to pick up a card when you’re in the store; you need cards to match the funky gifts. And for yourself, I vote for one of the impossible puzzles that will keep you busy on that long trip home. You can reward yourself for being so thoughtful by treating yourself to some of the chocolates that the store also sells."
Awesome store with a wide variety of gifts, cards, chocolate and so much more. Cannot stop laughing while you are there as there are so many funny gifts. A must if you are in DC!

I had the pleasure of visiting this eclectic shop on a quick trip to DC. There are tons of cute and unique items to catch your eye. I was very upset to learn that they are closing their doors permanently though! The staff was great and the store was perfect.

Looking for a fun gift or hilarious card? Do you find New Yorker cartoons hilarious and political jokes always in season? This is the place! I always go there for the best cards for my friends and family (big selection), and they always have amazing little joke gifts, as well as creative and nice gift options for people that are hard to buy for.

If you like funny, quirky cards and cute unique gifts this is the place for you! The Chocolate Moose serves up deliciously sly humor along side some of the best Belgian chocolate you'll ever get your hands on outside of Belgium. Come in and enjoy shopping in the kind of store that's rare these days - a happiness store.

I go here for my event planning needs, balloons, bulk candies and decorations.
Great prices and the place is very organized, costumer service is amazing. Employees have a great product knowledge of all the items they carry. If I can give more than 4 I will give them a 10 star!!!

This place is trying to do too much. While I'm sure there could possibly be a way to juggle a chocolate shop, a card section, a jewelry section, a travel section, and little trinkets all under one small roof in an elegant way, this place feels like a very fragmented experience. I feel like the only time I'd buy something here is if I was searching for a white elephant gift.

This eclectic shop never fails to inspire me for unique gifts. The staff go above and beyond to help. Thanks for the ideas today! Longtime customer, first time reviewer.

I love this store. It's perfect for finding politically incorrect or hysterical (depending on your leaning here) charged cards that are just about perfect and en pointe in the DC metro area. I love that you can get anything from Bush "dum gum" to make your own legwarmer kits at this store. This is one of my favorite places to hit for odds and ends to send to that person you want to know you're thinking of them for a special occasion but they seem to have everything under the sun they could possibly need. Chances are they won't need what you'll find, but they'll love it!
