I stumbled upon this chocolate shop while exploring the island. A friend had recommended it, and while I’m not a chocolate connoisseur, I visit to bring back gifts for my loved ones. The shop offered a delightful array of chocolates, ranging in size and flavor and forms. I particularly enjoyed the gelato with shot of espresso. The shop was quite busy downstairs. While I gave it five stars overall, I noticed a slight lack of customer service. The cashiers and employees seemed focused solely on their tasks, without greeting or engaging with customers, but I think it’s normal for Canadians standards.

Google
Its bougie, has ample parking... nice little garden with tons of chairs... pictureque... beautiful garden, flowers... plan to sit outside while u enjoy ur treats... easy access to the water front... we got Espresso shots which was amazing, the raspberry icecream was too good! The chocolates were divine... not expensive at all... considering the quality, packaging etc. Come here after burning some calories at the falls... dont eat the crap icecream there... its a very short drive...

This establishment is an exceptional destination for enjoying ice cream during the summer months. It offers a spacious and inviting environment, making it perfect for family outings. The ample space allows for a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere where families can gather, enjoy their treats, and create lasting memories together. One of the standout features of this place is the extensive variety of ice cream flavors available. Whether you have a preference for classic flavors like vanilla and chocolate or more adventurous choices like mint chocolate chip or salted caramel, there is something to satisfy every palate. The quality of the ice cream is top-notch, with rich, creamy textures and delicious, well-balanced flavors. Despite the high quality, the prices remain very reasonable, providing excellent value for money. In addition to its delightful ice cream offerings, the establishment boasts a prime location near the river. This scenic setting enhances the overall experience, offering patrons the opportunity to enjoy a leisurely stroll along the riverbank after their treat. The tranquil ambiance of the river creates a perfect backdrop for relaxation and unwinding. Overall, this ice cream shop combines a wonderful selection of flavors, a family-friendly environment, and a picturesque location to create a truly enjoyable summer outing. It’s a place where both the young and the young at heart can indulge in delicious ice cream while soaking in the beauty of their surroundings.

Google
Good Italian style sorbet, with plenty of choices. There's a chocolate store as well, with plenty of shapes (fish, cows, stars, etc.) sorbet prices are ok, but chocolate is home made, then a bit overpriced.

Google
Best dipped ice cream! Really great spot, an easy walk to the beach/bay to get some nice views. Staff was very nice and they do speak English for tourists.

Google
Charming place - a must stop destination in an otherwise pretty low key island. We were going around the island stopping at key places, mostly deserted, when we came across this - and suddenly there were crowds and a buzz of voices and checkout lines. We started from the restaurant upstairs. Loved my vanilla ice cream, maple syrup, and peanut sundae. Small was large enough. A long espresso balanced the sweetness. A bag of homemade chips added a crunch - the chips were delightfully under salted. The chocolate shop downstairs is everything you’d expect - tons of chocolate and candy in various shapes and flavors. Very helpful and polite staff. Clean everything. Superb decor.

Prepare for a really long line if you opt for ice cream. Chocolates and ice cream are really good. A tad pricey but the chocolates are so creamy, rich and satisfying. The seating area is so instagramable. 🤭 Definitely take time to visit of you’re in the area. I think they have onsite parking but we opted to park on street for a nice walk and view of old Quebec.

Google
The chocolates are quite overpriced, and despite the hype and positive reviews, I found them underwhelming. Staff appeared preoccupied with other tasks and didn’t offer much attention or service

Yelp
Delicious chocolate. Cute and interesting chocolate figures. Friendly staff. Recommended.

Yelp
The absolute best dipped soft serve I have ever had period(t)!!!! Totally regretted not getting a bigger size and ordering a baby cone. This place was divine. Lots of reviews mentioning the tour buses but we must've missed the rush because while we waited in a line, it wasn't nearly as packed as it should have been for the type of soft serve these people are slingin here. I got vanilla soft serve with a salted caramel dip. Also ended up taking back some maple and chocolate gifts to distribute back home and I wish I had gotten something for myself from here. It's a definite stop.
google avatar

Yelp
THE place to get chocolate coated soft serve. They have many options for types of chocolate dips and we opted for the salted caramel and it was absolutely delicious! Huge generous serving of soft serve piled high with a thick chocolate dipped outside. The ice cream is super creamy and rich and just so good with the chocolate outside. I've never had a dipped cone like this. Can't wait to go back. Would definitely get this again!
google avatar

Yelp
This was our only stop at L'lle d'Orleans on our day tour.  A bit far and pricey for ice cream, but might as well try it.  I got a baby size salted caramel chocolate dipped with vanilla ice cream and it was just the perfect size.  They also have specialized chocolates, snacks and souvenirs but I didn't have time to look.  There is also a clean restroom.

Yelp
Definitely go here. I'm sad I can't just drive up to Canada on a given day to have this ice cream again, so lucky you if you live close. THICC chocolate coating on that soft serve. Absolutely incredible. Hits that same craving that you have, that culinary craving that lives somewhere in between wanting to eat one of those chocolate Kinder eggs with the toy inside, and just eating Nutella or peanut butter out of the jar with a spoon. Phenomenal and I enjoyed every bite. If we didn't have dinner reservations coming up I would have had a second one. If no dinner and also no dessert after dinner I would have had three. Ask them what the best/most famous dip is, we had the salted caramel one per the girls' recs and it was bomb.
google avatar

Rose M.

Yelp
I literally would come back to Canada just to come here. They serve hard (sorbet) and soft ice cream. I had the vanilla and strawberry twist dipped in milk chocolate. My hubby had soft vanilla dipped in white chocolate maple. Words can not describe the dip. Thick and soft holding in the ice cream so it's not dripping down your hands. IT WAS AMAZING!! I'll describe my strawberry twist like eating a strawberry Charlestown chew. It tasted like nostalgia. They have indoor or outdoor seating. Parking attendant to help you find a spot. Right across from the ocean where you can walk and look at the view.

Yelp
Maybe this place is fine in the summer. In the winter? No. We went bc someone recommended this place for great hot chocolate and we were excited. But no. Their machine was broken so the drive was in vain. So we bought a variety of chocolates. And they were just meh. Nothing stood out. Nothing of note. And I think it is odd that they asked for a tip. Tip for putting expense chocolates in a box?? No. Not from me.
google avatar

Leslie C.

Yelp
Yes yes yes! So good!!!!! Best chocolate dip I've ever had! Amazing soft serve ice cream dipped in Belgium chocolate. Thank you!!! The front is a shop where you can buy pieces of chocolate and treats, and the ice cream parlor is in the back, and you can buy coffee and sandwiches too. We were biking around the island and stopped here for a treat and I'm so glad. I can see why it's recommended by everyone! Friendly and friendly service. This place gets crowded. It seems to be a popular spot for van tours of the island. Only two bathrooms outside and there can be a wait.
google avatar

Mandy F.

Yelp
Loved this spot and glad we stumbled upon it on our 2 days in QC. They have chocolates in their shop that they sell and on the other side is a ice cream shop (also selling sandwiches). They have dipped ice cream. We got the chocolate with milk chocolate dip and the vanilla with white chocolate maple syrup dip. The coating is thiccccc. It was $8 and $9 for the grande ones. 11/10 would recommend !!
google avatar

Yelp
I can't say enough great things about the chocolate here it was delicious , especially the chocolate that had the maple butter in it, which is what they're famous for in Canada. We went at a very busy time. I was with a tourist group...wish it was a little bit less busy so I would've had more time to look. There was a lot to offer. There is a must destination for anyone going to the area.

Yelp
I have died and gone to chocolate heaven! There is nothing in the world like it. It is well worth the :30 drive from Old Quebec and the wait in line! We found it about twenty years ago by accident. We were driving around this delicious island and saw a very crowded parking lot with lots of tourist buses, we had to look. My husband who wouldn't stand in line for anything has changed his tune. When people wait on line like this it has to be special & it is. Each time we've gone to Quebec we make a stop. The chocolate isn't bad but the soft serve ice cream is very special. They dip it in the most outageous chocolate fudge that creates a hard shell, we even double dip in a maple shell. It's obscene which you can tell looking at our faces!

Suhair S.

Yelp
My extended family recommended this place. This was my first type trying this type of ice cream. I want to be honest. It's was AMAZING!! So worth the drive.

Melissa B.

Yelp
This was def worth the wait in the long line. Who cares about the ice cream? It's all about the dip! We tried the milk chocolate/salted caramel dip on our soft serve cones. It was a thick shell of creamy Belgian chocolate. So delish. This is not your Dairy Queen dipped cone!!! It's a lot of chocolate, so keep that in mind when choosing what size cone to get. Consider sizing down from your usual cone size.

Yelp
Excellent chocolate and dipped soft serve ice cream made my kids very happy. This is a popular stop for those making the Ile d'Orleans circuit, and for good reason.Outside there are plenty of seats and benches to take in the view of Quebec City.
google avatar

Alison M.

Yelp
So much chocolate on an ice-creamcone! Unless you're used to this type of chocolate dip you have no idea, but this is kind of a weird complaint because it's really good chocolate on good ice cream. But really it's a lot of chocolate. I recommend sharing a cone. The kitty cone was so cute with a face and even more chocolate than the adult cone.
google avatar

Bruno G.

Yelp

Masa H.

Yelp
Very busy location, they have a large parking lot but it is very crowded anyway (a giant tourbus was there). The soft serve ice cream dipped in thick chocolate was pretty good. They have different kinds of chocolate dipping so make sure to try as many as you can. The salted caramel chocolate was great!
google avatar

Renee L.

Yelp
Who comes to a one-of-a-kind chocolatier ice cream shoppe and orders coffee and a muffin!? I do! Did I regret it? Big time! This place is FABULOUS! They serve freshly made sorbet and ice cream dipped in a rich , melted, luscious chocolate of your choosing. The dipping choices are dark, milk, white, or maple. Oh my goodness. It's pure ingredients. The flood of people entering and exiting the shop was non-stop. Truly people in the know regarding what one should order while visiting an ice cream shoppe. They tend to get busier closer to sundown, since this shoppe rests near the ideal spot to view a spectacular setting sun while enjoying a delectable treat.

Yelp
Great stop on Ile d'Orleans. Controversially, I would skip the chocolate shop below - they had good truffles but everything else was mediocre. What you need to try is the dipped ice cream - I got carmel sea salt dip and it was amazing. So thick, creamy and delicious. Strawberry milkshake was also divine
google avatar

Yelp
2017 Review 82/100 HEAVEN! If you make a trip to the islands and don't stop by this amazing little chocolate shop, really, what are you doing with your life? Especially if you're a chocoholic like me, you'll regret not visiting. They have a selection of baked goods and ice creams plus various chocolate bars and other items. But the real highlight for us was the truffles. We ended up getting one of each type to sample and they were incredible. Pro tip: There is a narrow driveway across the street where we were able to pull in and enjoy a view of the river and Montmorency Falls while we snacked on our truffles.
google avatar

Candace L.

Yelp
Don't know if it was the cold talking but the hot chocolate was perfect on a cold December day as part of the city/countryside tour offered by the hotel I was staying at. If you have a sweet tooth for chocolate, this is your go-to place of you visit the island. The hot chocolate was sweet, delicious, and just the right temperature. There were also many other chocolate treats and truffles in the store you can buy. The store is pretty small considering the size of the tourist groups visiting everyday but I enjoyed this brief stop that made me feel like a little kid again.

Yelp
Got here around 6:30 PM, and there were still quite a few people. Unfortunately, the chocolatier part of the shop was closed, but the cafe, where you can buy ice cream, pastries, and sandwiches was still open. We got the chocolate dipper soft serve, chocolate croissant, and three scoops of ice cream: chocolate fudge, chocolate, and pear. The soft serve chocolate shell was incredibly thick, and the smallest size was actually quite big! The dark chocolate was yummy and the vanilla soft serve was pretty standard. The cone is a generic styrofoam cone. The chocolate croissant was okay. Still good because butter and chocolate, but don't expect anything special. The hard ice cream was very yummy! The chocolate was incredibly creamy, and paired with the refreshing pear, was definitely a great combo! The chocolate fudge was actually a vanilla ice cream with chocolate bits in it. Good as well, but not knock your socks off. This experience was really all about the ambience. A cute shop with a beautiful view

Yelp
We came here on a Friday evening to get some ice cream, and my friend and I shared a medium cone dipped in maple. I had never seen maple coating before so that's why I wanted to try it, but turns out it's just sugar. This was the first time I've ever seen ice cream like this though, as that coating was thick! Apparently that's how it is in Canada (or just Quebec? Not sure). It was great though! The ice cream inside was creamy, and the coating outside was thick. I thought it was too sweet though, and I wish I knew that's what it tasted like before we got it - chocolate would've probably been better. In any case, yum. There's some seating inside, and there's plenty of seating outside too. Plus it's close to the river, so taking an ice cream and walking around there is a good idea too. At 6.50 CAD for an ice cream, it's quite pricey, but it's quite big and the quality is pretty good!

Yelp
We have been to this place two or three times in the last 15 years. It is on the southern tip of the island and is a major tourist attraction on the island. The inside has a chocolate shop and a small coffee shop. We opted for hot chocolate and a package of dark chocolate with almonds this time. Both were excellent. When the mini tour buses stop, this place can get crowded very quickly as it did during our visit.
google avatar

Reny L.

Yelp
My family did the round trip drive around the island to taste some wine, some cheese, some boulangerie, some patisserie. Then we found this gem nestled in a quaint town. The shop offers only a half or so dozen flavors but the star are the 5 or so dips. We highly recommend getting the cone as it is dipped in the most amazing and SUPER THICK chocolate. The dips not too sweet and delicious. This gem has raised the bar as every other dipped cone you have known is bar none cannot be compared to this chocolaterie. These guys know chocolate.
google avatar

Yelp
Lovely stop to pick up gifts. The chocolate choices were great. Hot chocolate hit the spot. And there are cushy chairs to hang out in.

Yelp
Ile D'Orleans is already pretty beautiful and this place just tops it off! I have been coming to Canada for a while now and never knew this place until I saw it was very crowded one day. I was really surprised that it was crowded especially for being on an island that's a little isolated. Cutest ice cream/ chocolate place ever! It is in a house so it makes it pretty cozy and its super clean. The ice cream is upstairs and the chocolates are downstairs. I thought the ice cream menu was pretty unique in the fact that you could get chocolate or vanilla ice cream with a chocolate, maple, or caramel shell. The prices are pretty reasonable especially for Quebec. We got 2 Bebe (smallest) glaces- one in vanilla and one in vanilla with maple shell although we had ordered it with a chocolate shell and they put a chocolate coin in each ice cream. It had to be the fluffiest ice cream i have ever seen. I did not order any ice cream but my parents said it was "seriously good" but very very sweet. They take credits cards too of all amounts. Lots of Americans (who obv can't turn down ice cream). I constantly heard English. Tons of seating outside and they have a cute garden.
google avatar

Dan S.

Yelp
OMG. Imagine from your days of Dairy Queen and the dip of the soft serve ice-cream and you thought it was good? It wasn't. I only know that because I had the ice cream dipped in real chocolate here and it was easily the best dip I've ever had. The chocolate was thick, rich and generous. We opted for the milk chocolate and it was so good. There were lots of tables to sit and the price was really good too. Overall, this is a MUST stop when touring the island. We loved it.
google avatar

Steven K.

Yelp
This island next to Quebec City is lovely and filled with sights & interesting stores. They have an amazing array of chocolate and ice cream. Outside they have tables and rocking benches so you can sit back and enjoy your treats.

Yelp
I know its a Chocolatiere but we only came here for the ice cream... It was a beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon and I couldn't think of a better excuse to go for a drive than ice cream! We've been here several times but this was far the busiest! There was a line up out the door, literally! If you encounter a wait like that don't be discouraged, it moves fast! Within minutes we were placing our order; one large marbled soft serve with dark chocolate, one large vanilla soft serve with maple syrup and a piece of maple syrup pie. The maple pie was nothing exceptional; don't bother ordering it. The two soft serve cones were great! Except I find their coating to be too thick... I think they dip the cones in the coating twice... Overall a good experience; will definitely be back!
google avatar

Lena M.

Yelp
Huge portions for soft serve and the dip was thick! Excellent pricing for portion and taste. The truffles are amazing, best I've ever had. Excellent service and fast moving (long) lines.

Irene M.

Yelp
This was easily the best soft served ice cream I've ever tasted.. Creamy, not too sweet, perfectly cold.. Please, don't miss this. Seriously. Don't. (Espresso was mediocre but who cares )
google avatar

Bethany W.

Yelp
We never made it into the chocolate shop because after eating our very filling, very rich ice cream none of us could look at anything sweet for days. The soft serve was very good, possibly above average, but it's the candy topping they put on that kicks it into another category. This is nothing like the chocolate or cherry dips we have in the US where the coating is thin enough to crack easily. They pour your choice of topping (dark, medium, or light chocolate, salted caramel, etc) multiple times over your soft serve ice cream. They give you some type of cardboard holder to catch everything if you order a cone but we all went the safer route of getting it in a cup and it was still messy. But fun! Picture about the thickness and hardness of a Hershey's chocolate bar all over your ice cream and you can see how hard it would be to break into it with a plastic spoon! We figured out if you bite the top you can hollow out some ice cream that way but you still eventually have to break the chocolate some how which is where the good mess begins. Our family of five used about 20 napkins and still needed to wash up the stickiness after. The chocolate topping was high end chocolate, not the waxy kind We left holding our bellies. I'd give 4.5 stars if I could, deducting a half star due to the fact that although it was a great and a unique ice cream experience it was so rich and decadent I'm not sure I would go back again any time soon. As we live 400 miles away that is probably the case, but if we lived closer I think this would be a once a summer treat for us.
google avatar

Xandra B.

Yelp
If you have any premonitions about ordering the monstrous heap of creamy vanilla soft-serve drenched in the housemade chocolate sauce (nonchocoholics can choose maple or white chocolate)...forget about them. Rumored to be the best in Canada and probably providing some hearty competition to Chocolat Favoris in Quebec, the layer of chocolate dip is the thickest I've ever seen. But don't get too distracted by the winding café line and miss the actual chocolaterie downstairs. Standouts include the Orléans, with a unique raspberry center lightly sweetened with Candian maple, and other liqueur fillings. A must-stop for your visit on the Ile d'Orléans!
google avatar

Kai-Lan O.

Yelp
DELICIOUS! Can get crowded during peak hours, but well worth the wait. I had the vanilla ice cream with dark chocolate shell and it was so good that I returned again during my 5 day trip to Ile de Orleans.
google avatar

Fern H.

Yelp
I will never be able to eat a dipped cone from anywhere else again. It will pale in comparison to the one I had here on the island of Orleans. This chocolate dip was seriously thick, not just a cheap thin layer, easily crackable with one lick. It also comes in milk chocolate, dark chocolate and maple flavours. We opted for the dark and the maple in the bebe size ($3.95). We walked through the chocolate shop and eyed the goodies but we were all sugared out from the excellent cones. They need to franchise this and get it off the island!
google avatar

Vonda R.

Yelp
For chocoholics everywhere! I thought prices were reasonable for quality of chocolate. Only sampled chocolate bars, but heard from several locals nothing disappoints. . Check this place out!
google avatar

Hong G.

Yelp
The ice cream with dark chocolate and maple dip are way tooooo sweet. It's so sweet that I felt sick about it. Have to throw it away.
google avatar

Michael J.

Yelp
The chocolate was good, the selection is not so good. The location of the chocolate place is not the easiest to get to, however the drive to the chocolate place is nice. The chocolate is not cheaply priced but it is worth it if you want to just try it and have a sweet bit of something.
google avatar

Ann W.

Yelp
A HIGHLIGHT of our bus tour ...the chocolate dipped custard cone was live-changing...the chocolates, instantly addictive... now I'm trying to find a way to order online....looks like I'm headed back to Canada!
google avatar

Carrie L.

Yelp
I loved their ice cream. It is covered with very thick real chocolate. You can choose size and chocolate type. Dark and white, milk, caramel is available.
google avatar

Dale P.

Yelp
Hands down the best ice cream cone I have ever had. The vanilla soft serve ice cream was creamy and rich. The salted caramel milk chocolate it was dipped in took it to the next level.
google avatar

Mistigris L.

Yelp
The soft ice cream dip is abundant, creamy and delicious. A medium size is way too big for anyone, I promise!

brad t.

Yelp
Fantastic, get the soft serve ice cream dipped in your preference of chocolate or caramel!!!!
google avatar

John Y.

Yelp
Delicious!!! You should try one. I mean the one looks like sundae ice cream coating with dark chocolate. I really liked it.

John M.

Yelp
Nice spot to stop for a quick lunch upstairs, lovely home made soup. Downstairs is a delightful chocolate shop with wonderful treats.
google avatar

Kerry. D.

Yelp
Yummy ice cream. Best dip cone in Canada or US. We came back a second time in as many days for a cone. Again Yum! The little village is quaint and lovely. Biking folks everywhere. Just wish the big buses were not allowed on the island.

Scott B.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I made a day trip out to Île d'Orleans from Québec City. We had heard good things from a friend of ours and were not disappointed. Their chocolate dipped ice cream is just about the best thing you can eat. After inhaling mine I stared wantonly at hers only to be left swimming in the river... of disappointed as she locked me out of my own car. Bon appetite!!

Yelp
This place has everything to be successful. Located in the quaint village of Sainte-Pétronille, this chocolate factory is the perfect place to escape your busy Pokemon-go-centered-urban life. Turn Wi Fi off and enjoy a beautiful landscape on Quebec City while walking on the beach just in front of the store. In itself, the chocolate factory offers ice cream with chocolate around it. My preference is for the Dark Chocolate, while my wife really enjoys the Salty Caramel one.
