Yelp
My family and I recently visited here. We were a large party of 20 people age ranges of 4-75. So there was something to do for everyone which was nice. Four of us stayed in the Sky Tower and the rest in the Spa Tower. The Sky Tower is the newly added hotel to the resort. The Sky Tower housed additional bars, restaurants, two pools (one being the kids pool), and Starbucks. The Sky Tower is a no smoking zone when gambling which I loved. The remaining areas in the resort smelled of smoke.
There is ample amount of free parking or valet parking with a complimentary tip. Beware of parking on the end in the parking garage. There was a brand new black mustang parked in an end corner spot. It was a spot where the cars have to make a right turn to go up to the next row or level for parking. Either someone was drunk or cannot drive, but they ripped and crushed the front bumper of the car.
The hotel staff were really nice, friendly, and helpful. There are several restrooms and beverage stations throughout the resort. The beverage stations had coke products and coffee 24/7 for guests to use. They have several restaurants such as Starbucks, Velvet Taco, Smash Burger, Papa John's, Cinnabon, Carvel Ice Cream, and Krispy Krunchy Chicken to name a few. To me the food prices were expensive especially for large parties like ours. We drove 10-11 mins up the road to eat at local fast food places for some meals. We did drive to Sherman which was about a 30 mins drive for dinner one night.
As for family entertainment there is bowling, movie theater (w/a full concession stand), arcade room, and the pool. The pool is a very popular spot and families get there as soon as the pool opens each morning. There is also a gym on site if you wish to workout while on vacation. You cannot bring drinks or food to the pool w/ the exception of Starbucks. You can bring Starbucks to the pool. You can purchase food and drinks by the pool. Pool drinks (liquor) cannot be brought back inside. There is a worker who is monitoring and enforcing their rules at the door entrance/exit. Pool wrist bands must be worn and key cards must be scanned to access the pool areas. If you lose your pool wrist band it is $50 per replaced paper band. The movie theater is playing current movies and the seats recline.
We stayed on the 9th floor and all rooms have mini fridges. You have to have a key card to access the floors which I loved. The rooms were somewhat clean. In our personal room the floors were not vacuumed/mopped, and the nightstand was dirty from the previous guests. The water in the restroom was lukewarm, but more so cold. We called twice to see if the issue could be fixed, but both men said, "the temperature couldn't be adjusted for safety reasons." So get ready to take a cold shower your entire stay if you're in the Sky Tower. The water in the Spa Tower and throughout the casino on that side were hot. The toilet seat was not cleaned well upon entering either our room. We had left uneaten food on the counter to eat later. However, the resort does not have a microwave for any guests to use. So do not bring leftovers back to the hotel if you wish to warm. They did not budge when asked several times even challenging them on, "how does staff warm food and could we use the staff microwaves?" Our leftover food and other items in the bags were thrown away instead of asking us if the items were trash. Housekeeping assumed the bags were trash, we were very upset at this mishap. She threw away our food, but forgot to empty one of our trash cans during her visit.
If you need a wheel chair it is free to rent, but you must leave your drivers license with bell hop until the chair is returned. They also have motorized scooters to rent for $45 a day. I am assuming leaving your license is also the standard to rent those as well. It is first come first serve for the wheel chairs and scooters.
Due to the pools strict restrictions, cold shower water, half cleaned rooms, expensive eateries, and no microwaves; I gave the resort a 3/5 stars. If you and your family would like a quick getaway if you live in Texas or Oklahoma, this is a nice place to go with family.
