Stopped here before heading back to DTW after our Egypt trip. It was a rainy day, but we decided to catch the subway here anyway, and it was well worth it. I loved the breakfast burrito, and everyone I was with also liked their food. I would definitely come back if in the area and recommend you check it out if hungry and not too far. The service was also really good during our visit. Everything came out quickly and with no issues.

Choice Market is located on the corner of Lafayette St and Grand Ave with two entrances. Lafayette St entrance for their take-out grab a quick bite and Grand Ave entrance for dine-in with a cozy wooden ceiling and exposed brick wall. Cocktails are so refreshing it’s perfect to go with breakfast. Parisian basket has crispy croissant, fresh muffin, and a perfectly baked baguette. Turkey club is one of the best I’ve ever had. The avocado toast is so fresh and tangy it tasted just like straight from the farm. Their friendly staffs serve you with a big friendly smile making your morning a super happy one. This is a tough review because I feel really bad for the waitress. She was running the whole restaurant (at full capacity) by herself! The owners/management need to do better here. In terms of the food, it was alright. Nothing special. I’m not sure if it was a mistake or on purpose, but the food was really herby. We ordered the chorizo breakfast burrito and the turkey BLT. The chorizo breakfast burrito was not good, with stringy cheese and lettuce (who puts lettuce in a breakfast burrito?). The chorizo was also lacking in flavor. The BLT was good, the cranberry chutney was a great addition. The turkey was juicy and the sandwich overall had a good bite to it. I was surprised to see bones in the bacon, but not much to say about that.

I came here on Saturday afternoon for brunch and I had such a wonderful and cozy experience here! The brunch vibe was great - with rustic interior design, a great playlist and delicious food. We ordered the pancakes with fresh fruits, the Butcher's breakfast and omelet with a side of potatoes and salad. The portion size here is very generous and everything we ate was cooked well! The staff was very friendly and attentive too. This restaurant is a great addition to the neighborhood and I would come back again!

I have been coming to choice market decades ago, but never try their new restaurant. Food is as good as it gets. Bronzino sandwich is so delicious I want to eat the second. There are antique bikes that they bought from movie set- boardwalk empire. The space is cute and cozy.

Loved my mushroom latte, recommended by the nicest person behind the counter!! Stayed there and sipped it with the awesome playlist! Will come back!!

This is a fantastic farm-to-table spot! They have great breakfast and lunch, and the friendliest owner and staff. I especially think their smoothies are great, and their fried branzino sandwich is incredible.

Steak and eggs: 5/5 very good. Nice simple plate. Delicious and savory. Sweet potato fries were fire as well. They have a to go side and a sit down spot with outdoor seating. We sat down and we enjoyed all our food. Service was great.

It's a cute cozy open kitchen cafe restaurant vibe. Some people were sitting studying . This place has everything including smoothies. I have a cold and I wanted either a tea fresh juice or soup I decided on chicken vegetable soup. I didn't care for it so much because it lacked seasoning . It had lots of celery and carrots. It didn't seem worth the $6.50 price I almost got a spinach croissant but decided to purchase a bottled juice I got a pure green in soul kick

Cute coffee cafe that gives an amazing vibe. Coffee was tasty and very robust. I'm excited to revisit to try the food!! This cafe offers both vegan and non vegan options. Definitely coming back in the near future!!

I really like this place and come frequently for their quiche and coffee but they really have a ton of options to get from just a BLT to getting premade food by the 1/4 pound from their "deli" area with things like glazed carrots and salads etc. The vibe is like coffee house since they do that too as well as like a little bakery? Its a nice place to take a seat inside or out and they have a takeout window on the side of the building so you can just order a sammy and coffee to-go. Please see the picture of my dog waiting for his dog treat (yes they have homemade dog treats) They also recently opened up a real sit down restaurant right next door thats just a great space too with great quick service and a great spot for brunch. So they have a lot of options but even better their prices are so reasonable it's a breath of fresh air getting food and a drink there. Anyway upvote "cool" if you think my dog is cute

I waited for Mac and cheese for over 30 minutes to only get it and literally have a cockroach in my food. I'm pissed.

This is a good breakfast spot. It's a good vibe. The staff is cool... Everything I have purchased was freshly made. Banana Walnut Bread was good pick with my coffee. Nice day to be great. Live, love and laugh -Sha

Only gotten breakfast from here really but it is always soooo good. Their grits are fantastic and egg sandwiches are great too. Again not sure how other meals are but would definitely recommend breakfast here

I got a pumpkin spice muffin that was hard as a rock and cold like it had been removed from a freezer or fridge!

Everything about this place is great, the service the food and the place. You have the option to ge something to go or dine in. I had the avocado toast with the poached egg delicious the omelette too. I 100% recommend this place

I had the pleasure of trying the chicken panini at Choice Market and it was absolutely delicious! The fresh vegetables and soft ciabatta bread perfectly complemented the flavorful chicken. The sandwich was also quite generous in size, making it a hearty and satisfying meal. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Choice Market and would highly recommend their chicken panini to anyone looking for a delicious, high-quality sandwich. Hidden gem for breakfast / brunch spot! We went to the restaurant and next door you can grab food to go such as bagels, sandwiches, coffee / tea etc. A lot of great brunch selections, affordable price and massive portions of food! Everything was delicious and great customer service! I will definitely come back again :)

What a lovely atmosphere/ vibe! Excellent customer service - as soon as you enter, you are greeted by friendly staff with smiles! I ordered the pancakes, my friends ordered the choice burger & salmon burger - the portions were massive and it was very affordable, amazingly delicious!!! We devoured the food in minutes. Not sure what kind of sauce was served on the burgers but OMG, it was soo tasty!!! We ended with some desserts and again the perfect balance of crisp, sweetness & savory. Will definitely come back again!!

If I need something decent and don't know what to get I come to choice. The food is alright, never amazing, but it's filling and there's a good variety of options. The service is a little slow, but it's also usually kind of busy, so that's okay.

Absolutely delicious!! They have gluten-free wraps so you can order any sandwich and sub the buns if you have gluten sensitivity. The outdoor seating area is really nice and perfect for people watching or reading a book. The staff is very friendly and you will likely receive quick service.

I absolutely luuuuuurve Choice Market!!! I got into them while that franchised coffee shop opposite was closed due to the pandemic. I apologize Choice. I didn't know any better. Will fix this with more visits. I've been to them about five six times during the height of covid and was afraid to contaminate my phone by taking pics. Must rectify this. The staff is amazing!!!! During the pandemic management and staff thanked each customer individually. Not just with the regular old "thanks youssss" but with so much apprecilove! Like the Grammies and shxt! I in return thanked her one day for her essential service but she threw it back at me "no, thank, YOU for taking the time to support us during this difficult period." Man I wanted to cry. What an emotional time we've been (are) in. This "mum and pop" absolutely have my vote! Their store is always immaculate and their food is yummy coffee so delicious! Please support them. The End.

I have only one OCD tendency: I must wash my hands if I'm using my hands to eat; like French fries, sandwiches, an apple - and the list goes on. I was here at Choice four years ago and I needed to take the subway to get here. Once I got here I HAD to wash my hands (obviously). So when I ordered I asked where the WC was so I could clean up. I was told they didn't have one and I'm S.O.L.! Being from California at the time, it was a state law there that if you served food, you must provide a place to clean up. I walked out in a Huff (read my prior review from 2018 below). Move the clock up 4 years and my son who moved much closer to Choice told me it was excellent and well buy a couple of sandwiches "to go" and we'll wash up at his apartment. Well, my chicken salad sandwich was indeed excellent and I moved my O.C.D. 1 Star review to a new solid 4 Stars. I loved the food they are making at Choice! My son had a chicken panini that was also excellent. Their "Dirty" (that's the name of the company) purveying their potato chips were also excellent. I am more than happy to own my O.C.D. bitchy asthma, that gave these nice people that grouchy 1 Star review But, I'm wayyyyyyy more happy giving them this current well deserved 4 Star review!

This neighborhood gem never disappoints. From the friendly, welcoming, eclectic, multicultural staff to the detectably delightful, French-inspired meals and pastries, this place rocks! It would be criminal of me to fail to mention their vast array of coffee, tea, and whatever one desires to go along with their drink. The ingredients are always super fresh. Everything is prepared the day you purchase it. The chefs are visibly cooking and baking to create excellence. The results are always wonderful. The staff is super accommodating. My beloved, late grandfather used to get their muffins and other pastries daily. This was his one guilty pleasure. The ¹whole family started patronizing. The entire menu is worth exploring. One can cozily dine in, dine al fresco (seemingly the most popular when weather permits), or have their culinary joy delivered to their home or office. Either way, you're winning when you eat their food. Oh. Nice sidebar: They sell healthy, homemade, dog treats, and there is an area outside where dogs can enjoy water and a treat. This portion of the experience never interferes with humans who are leery of dogs. A lot of people actually love seeing a dog or two in that section quietly sipping, snacking and enjoying the vibe! I highly recommend this establishment. It's a loneighborhood favorite. They've been around for about 18 years or so and have survived and thrived through much, including Covid (where they served the community). They can also boast of being unfazed by the opening of a Starbucks across the street. Choice's business didn't just remain the same, but it grew! It's still growing. Again, Choice is a neighborhood gem.

I have been coming to choice as long as i can remember and there's nothing better. Their fruit tarts, onion rings, smoothies and chicken paninis are my personal favorites. They are so welcoming and friendly too!

Delicious! First there's a market section which serves you coffee and quick bites, I had coffee there and it was great! However, this review is about the lovely quaint restaurant behind the market. If you're looking for a good brunch/breakfast this is a must try. The servers are super friendly and the food came out pretty quick. Service was great. I got the steak and it was good. We also had pancakes for the table, very fluffy. Overall very enjoyable and yummy meal. Awesome local spot , I definitely go back!

Outstanding, delicious, perfect. I look forward to coming here every time. I am absolutely enchanted by the options, plenty to choose from if you're vegetarian, and it's a great place for a snack, a meal, or even just quick coffee.

The food is very good but the service needs work. Would recommend the owner hires staff that is more experienced and represents better for the business as the coffee and pastry side always has. Disappointed by our experience and won't likely return even though it's in our neighborhood.

Got food poisoning from the turkey burger! Sad because it was my favorite one I had found but now I can't go back.

Vibe is nice (whatever that means) but I went here strictly for coffee. Maybe my first mistake since it seems food-focused and there looked like a lot of variety in the baked goods and the menu. Ordered a large iced latte (for $8....it's New York, but come on) and was handed a small. Asked barista if this was the large and they rudely said "yes that's a large 16 oz." when the large 20 oz. iced cups were right in front of my face (I've worked in coffee for a while so I know my cups). Felt weird asking her to remake so I didn't. But long story short I spent $8 on a tiny subpar latte.

I've been coming here for maybe 15 years and never left a review. Love the daily veggies, love the breakfast sandwiches, love the croissants, love the avocado toast. A true Clinton Hill institution.

overpriced soggy pancakes with fruits that taste mushed. utensils were dirty only enjoyed the coffee but doesnt make up for the main reason coming which was to have a cozy warm brunch meal. service was unattentive would not come back

The soup is for pigeons. I don't mean that it's so bad that it's only suitable for pigeons, I mean that the takeaway container is untreated paper and that my entire soup spilled out of the bottom onto the street before I could try it. I managed to catch some pieces of chicken before they flushed out of the bottom, and they were okay. But uh, these containers aren't suitable for soup. Eco-friendly is one thing, but if you don't have containers for soup, don't serve soup. Unfortunately this happened after walking 10 minutes to my stoop, and I didn't feel like walking back just to ask for a new soup. I also had a BLT which was decent. A bit salty for my taste, but probably a 3.5/5.

Simply too much mayonnaise! I was going to just leave it at that, but Yelp is making me write more, so I will continue. The sandwiches have too much mayonnaise. Is the bread good? Sure. Are the toppings good? Sure. Is the selection diverse? Yes. If you choose from the selection of sandwiches, will you have a 9/10 chance of getting a a sandwich where geysers of aioli erupt out the sides when you bite into it? Yes. Will the sloppy lakes of mayonnaise make your sandwich slip and slide around, escaping to plop on your table and down the front of your work shirt? Yes. Will you float in a fog of mayonnaise-induced nausea after you manage to eat what you can of your sandwich as your digestive system struggles to contend with the acute intake of mayonnaise? Certainly yes. Am I exaggerating? If only! It is fine to have one or even five indulgent, mayonnaise-laden sandwiches on your menu. But truly, every sandwich has far too much mayonnaise with the exception of the vegan one and I know because I work in the area and have tried them all. If they just dialed the mayonnaise down from eleven to six, every sandwich would be a hit! For now though, it's not grilled chicken, it's mayonnaise-embalmed grilled chicken. It's not a BLT, it's an MBLT. Or maybe just an M.

They sold me a piece of carrot cake that was past due -- sour & inedible, unsure how long it had been sitting on the counter but it was disgusting. What a terrible way to run your business & not throw away spoiled food or donate it before it goes bad.. really no clue why that was still being sold. Also had an overpriced sandwich that barely had any meat in it. $14 is a lot for just a piece of ciabatta with lettuce & mayo inside.. Will not be returning.

Everything here is delicious and fresh. I love the sandwiches (my friend says it's the best BLT she's ever had, but I prefer the roast beef) and pastries (guava and cream cheese?!). I grabbed an iced tea and breakfast (grits + poached egg) here recently and it blew my mind. Such an awesome Clinton Hill spot!

This place is awesome. You have the take-away meals - a big range of dishes -and coffee shop on Lafayette and around the corner is a charming restaurant with great food. I love brunch, the pancakes are fantastic. The portions are very big, I've actually eaten pancakes that I took home two times. The latte is excellent as well. The interior restaurant is very cute ad comfortable. Everyone is very friendly and attentive. Right now they have plenty of seating outside for those who want that. Prices are reasonable.

I've ordered from here several times and now visited in person as well and really enjoy it as a neighborhood spot. I've had their chicken sandwich a number of times, it's flavorful and delicious. Their turkey burger was delicious and flavorful and their fries were great. I've also ordered breakfast a couple of times from them and have consistently loved it. Their breakfast combo came with dreamy scrambled eggs and light, fluffy pancakes. The most surprising and delicious part was their berry compote butter that came with the pancakes that was incredible. Can't recommend it enough. The only small drawback is that I wish it came with more sausage, but it is delicious and I've ordered it several times. I would highly, highly recommend going to choice market, it's become one of my neighborhood staples!

Had a work brunch here. We were quickly seated and the food was good. Indoor and outdoor seating were both cute and had a nice ambience.

I regret tipping. food is good but delivery is a bad idea.

Choice has fantastic breakfast options, great brunch spot and their dinner offerings are an easy way to avoid cooking and yet get a home cooked-type meal. Highly recommend!

UPDATE - July 2019 The muffins shrunk. My breakfast staple for years. Disappointed. I can't imagine that they save that much money on the muffins now being as small as the size of the Starbucks muffin across the street. I don't see the wisdom in shrinking their amazing muffins. The staff is still great, the food is still great, the vibe is still great. But I'll miss my muffin. :-( Sept 2018 I've been coming here for 7 years sometimes daily! The renovations this week are gorgeous! More space, a few tables but still the great communal table where I have had many great conversations with strangers over the years. The environment is relaxing but not fall asleep boring Zen. Music is typically "urban" or current African American pop stars, often it's 70s like the Jackson 5, right now Franz Ferdinand is playing. Now, the food. I confess that I almost always get breakfast items or danishes and they are all great. It can get crowded on weekends midday. I almost always come midday so I always get a seat. Be prepared to do takeout on some days.

I absolutely love Choice, and come here regularly. Great coffee and staff, and I mock anyone who goes into the Starbucks across the street. BUT... my one complaint is that they have all these delicious pastries and menu items, but ZERO gluten-free items. It's a little surprising bc today most cafes or restaurants have some GF Options, since many people cannot have gluten.

I like Choice Market. I like their TooGoodToGo program and I like their guava cream cheese croissants and coffee. However I had a bad experience today. I was feeling down so I went to go pick up a grilled cheese sandwich and when I got it the structure of it was just crazy. They use thick brioche bread and really nice cheese but it was just SO MUCH CHEESE. They really lay it on there. And they pile it on the top even? Like I took off so much and there was still a lot left. I feel like they dont need to add the cheese on top.

Great food and coffee. Love the sautéed shrimp with kale and mushrooms. The hot cafe mocha is so much better than the one from the chain coffee shop across the street. Friendly staff, quick service when there's no crowd

The food is better than a year ago. I like the sandwiches and scones are amazing. However, the manager or owner has to fix this. The photo shows the salmon exposed to the outside air and easily whatever gross stuff gets kicked up can end up on the Salmon. I stop getting the salmon sandwich. Please fix!!

If it wasn't for the location this place would be out of business. As a neighborhood resident for 8 years I've given them chance after chance to provide a decent experience but they botch it 75% of the time. They have consistently gotten my order wrong whether I ordered in person delivery. I've also waited an obnoxiously long time for employees to stop chatting and acknowledge me. This morning they disappointed me yet again by giving me the wrong flavor mini tart ($6) and it also clearly had missing fruits? I will not be giving Choice market any more chances

Excellent breakfast burritos. I recommend adding egg to the Chorizo Burrito if you're feeling dangerous.

I order from this market multiple times a week. I have to give credit when it is due! Literally everything is made PERFECT for delivery every.single.time. I LOVE the chicken salad sandwich. I've tried everything on the menu it's very good. And I even always add a freshly baked dog treat for my pup! 10/10

Great to see Choice still doing it's thing in the midst of uncertainty. The steak paninis, the croissants, pumpkin loaves and chocolate Bundt cake, the "grilled cheese" with avocado, roasted tomato and gruyere on brioche. There's just so much consistent, delicious food in addition to a strong espresso bar and mind-right energy every time you walk in. The staff are super welcoming and solid unofficial dj's to-boot, and I look forward to seeing this local Clinton-BedStuy staple stick around

This place is a neighborhood staple. I'd probably give them 4 stars for food, but the extra 5th star is for how impressed i am with how they have managed the COVID pandemic. They remained open, calmly but seriously enforced distancing inside, and continued to serve the clinton hill and bed stuy community! If ever there were a time to support a small, family owned business this is it and I am always happy to give Choice my $$. Prior to COVID i was even going to have them cater a baby shower for me- and the owner couldn't have been nicer while discussing the menu and budget etc. While the event was canceled, i do look forward to having them cater future events when we are all allowed to gather again! I've never tried the hot dinner options, but can vouch for breakfast (egg sandwiches and oatmeal are great) as well as baked goods (lemon poppy load is awesome and the chocolate chip walnut cookie is INSANE). Additionally, they are home to my #1 favorite sandwich in BK- the Chicken Salad on 7 grain. Try it- you wont be disappointed. Thanks Choice for always being awesome!
