Tibetan style hotel in a very good location next to the Dalia Llama's home. Room was big and clean with great views. We appeared to be the only people staying there which was a little bizarre. The service wasn't great, no staff around at breakfast and we had to wait 30 mins before anyone turned up ! Enjoyed our stay though.

An absolute gem—a little slice of heaven tucked away in McLeod Ganj. I’ve stayed four times, and I honestly can’t wait to visit again. The rooms are stunning- and actual works of art. Each one is decorated with beautiful Tibetan-inspired designs that make the whole place feel so special. It’s peaceful, calming, and has this zen vibe that’s hard to find anywhere else. What I love most is how tranquil it is. Next door to the HH Dalai Lama’s temple- it’s the perfect spot to unwind, recharge and maybe even find yourself. The staff are so kind, welcoming and accommodating —they really make you feel at home. Compared to most places in the area, Chonor House stands out in the best way and feels very top quality experience. It’s cozy, unique, and so much nicer than the usual options. It’s one of the reasons I can’t wait to come back. Already counting down the days until my next visit.

Finely detailed Tibetan hotel with very friendly service. Gorgeous thick handmade rugs, wall paintings of Tibetan spiritual life. Excellent location - close to the home of his Holiness. Great restaurant offerings from breakfast though to dinner. Highly recommended.

A charming hotel in the centre of town. Our room was comfortable, and if the mist/fog had cleared, would have offered great views over the valley. Had dinner there one evening which was nice. Our one criticism, although not the fault of the hotel, is the number of street dogs very close to the hotel, who barked throughout the nights we were there, making sleep near impossible. For this reason alone we would not recommend this hotel.

Wie stayed for 3 nights and had the 8 auspicious suite which has a living room and a bedroom both with beautfiul|wooden floor and all decorated with Tangkas, Lamps and other nice things from the Norbulingka Institute. It is a beautiful hotel with a nice terrace where you can have breakfast or dinner. We liked the very friendly hotel staff, the service during the breakfast could be a bit better though. I recommend the hotel|for a stay in the center of Mc Leod with a great Tibetan mountain atmosphere.

This is a very nice and quiet place to stay in Dharamshala close to the Dalai Lama Temple. Very friendly and polite, helpful and service orientated staff!!! Only the manager, she does not care for the guests or even greet them, a quite arrogant Spanish lady!

We so enjoyed our stay at Chonnor House. It was so traditional and unique in a lovely location amongst the Mountains. The staff were friendly and we loved the walk down to the street market at the bottom of the hill. The view of the Monastery was great too from our room and the outside breakfast area.

Excellent location but would be difficult for people with mobility problems. If you like generic, international 4/5* hotels, this place is not for you. By staying in this unique hotel, you’ll be supporting the Norbulingka Institute. Staff are friendly, food is fine and the rooms are totally unique, some with great balconies and incredible views. But it is all a little tired I’m afraid.
