The Coop By Chookie's

We stopped off at Chookies after a climb up lying dragon mountain. They offer a good selection of drinks including coffee, smoothies and beer and cocktails .We opted for smoothies which were chilled and full of flavour. The gyro and quesadillas were a good portion size after the long ascent/descent (probably just because we are very unfit). The carrot cake was good and they also had plenty of other pastries/cakes on offer. The staff were very friendly and I would definitely pop in again if I were in the area.

Stopped in here for our first lunch in Ninh Binh!! Cutest place with good options for indoor and outdoor seating. Large variety of food and drinks! Got a falafel bowl and husband had a smash burger. We also tried the coconut coffee and iced matcha lattes. Everything was amazing!!! 10/10 would recommend!

Great for coffee and cakes, limited food menu. The carrot cake needs a little more flavour, tastless, even with the icing. The latte coffee ended up a cappuccino being only three quarters full ! The real latte coffee has no froth, and it fills the cup to the top, unlike this one. Especially at 75k plus 8% tax for the large cup. * Back tonight for more Carrot Cake, not much choice around here ! Yes it needs more flavour and a little sugar into the icing 😋

I came across the Coop while I was biking with my family. My wife ordered an ice coffee and they had oat milk along with tofu scramble and pink power smoothie bowl. I ordered two cinnamon rolls (must try) red velvet Oreo brownie, vegan tropical smoothie and Vietnamese salted coffee!

The Coop by Chookies Near Hang Mua cave Went there multiple times. Tried quite a few items - many coffees, cookies, pizza, fish, beer, cocktails and mocktails . Slightly expensive (relative to the other options in the area) as primarily catering to westerners. Service was a bit slow as good footfall compared to other restaurants nearby. Chicken pita wrap was good, so was mint slushie, fish taco was small portion, not great; egg coffee was decent. Halida tap beer wasn’t great. Was poured from a bottle, not tap. Overall, go if you want to have decent non-Vietnamese food while in Ninh Binh.

I stumbled upon this restaurant as I was returning from Huang Mai and needed some food. They have so many good food options it was difficult to choose. I ended up going with a chicken rice bowl and a salted peanut butter coffee. Both the food and drink were great and satisfying. Ryan was very friendly and provided great service. He also recommended other great local food spots. I would definitely return.

We stayed at the homestay across from this place, so it was convenient to stop in for a beer after a long day sightseeing. The food here was decent. It adhered to some of the dishes that are known to most westerners. The beer list was short, mostly some local lagers but it was good for the hot and humid conditions of the area. The service needs to improve. The server we had one night had trouble to manage the difference between appetizers and main courses, and did not know when to bring what out and when. Most of the time, we had to go to the counter to order. If you are homesick, this is a place to hang out and have a burger. They will mostly ignore you and leave you alone.

Walking distance from my homestay for the month. The yiro is so delicious. Yes, it’s a little bit pricey for something I️ could constitute as a full meal but I’ve had it three times already and will for sure have it on constant rotation for the rest of my time in Ninh Binh. The flavors are there and honestly the best pita I’ve had in my SEA travels so far. Also, the vibe is pretty chill. I’ve sat there for a while just reading & people watching.
