Hope lives here! This is an amazing outpatient center, and the care that they offer is unlike anywhere else. I go here for checkups occasionally, and the doctors and nurses are amazing! They absolutely saved my life.

Visit the Exercise Stress Test part. Pleasant staff. Literally was there for no more than 45 to 60 minutes. My only issue was that I am from New Jersey and the roads in Philadelphia are different from what I am used to. Very confusing how to enter the building. But I was able to ask 2 parking attendants where I was going.🙏🏾 Now once we enter the parking garage is where it really gets hectic!. We drove for 30 minutes in the garage trying to find a place to park. The best parking was for the disabled and they have plenty of parking!❤️ Once we parked then it was much easier. The appointment was for 10am, check in was for 9:30 but due to limited parking we didn't get to the floor til 9:40. But we made it. A good point is to make sure you grab your ticket when entering to park and get it stamped by the machine they have at check-in so you aren't charged a lot. Ours was $4.00 for 60 minutes inside.

We have been here far too many times than we'd care for, so we definitely appreciate the ease of parking and access to get to appointments quickly. Everyone from the lobby, security to the medical teams are nothing but courteous and professional. They do everything so your focus remains on your child. There are wait times to be expected depending on the number of appointments and the time scheduled. We suggest always taking early spots, but be wary of traffic getting in.

I WAS a patient here. My son was diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot while I was pregnant. This means he has a heart defect and NEEDED to be delivered at a hospital that has pediatric cardiology. The only way to know if he is going to need surgery immediately after delivery or if he could wait a few months is to see what color he looks like when I deliver him. My water broke a month early, I live 3 hours away! On my way to CHOP I called and told them that I was on my way and my estimated time of arrival. They urged me to go to the closest hospital so I could be taken down in an ambulance in case I had the baby or got stuck in the never ending Philly traffic. So I did. Once at the hospital in Scranton I gave the number for CHOPS special delivery unit to the attending doctor. I let him know what was going on and the circumstances of my baby. Understanding the urgency of the situation he called CHOP. They told him they were full!!! And wouldn’t be accepting me. Of course I thought this was bogus. So my husband called and got the same answer. I was devastated. In the middle of labor with my son who could need immediate surgery upon delivery and they were turning us away?!! The doctor at Moses Taylor gave me medicine to slow the labor and spent the next 3 hours trying to find a hospital that would/Could take us. Finally Milton Hershey came through. Even though they were slammed they accepted us. The next day CHOP called my husband and asked if we wanted to be transported there! Are you kidding me?! In the middle of labor and after turning us away!? Not a chance. My son was born and Milton Hershey really came through! Moral of the story: Parking at CHOP - ok Getting to CHOP - a nightmare Actually receiving the care that you planned months for - if they aren’t toooo busy If you have a child that needs a pediatric cardiologist- go to Milton Hershey. A lot of their doctors were trained at CHOP (because apparently they do good work when they actually do it) but left because - well, it’s Philly and it’s disgusting. I didn’t even know that Hershey was an option. It was the same distance for me than CHOP except I didn’t have to factor in an hour of traffic, dirty needles on the streets, and it smelling like a dump. I will never forgive CHOP for putting my baby, my husband and I through such a stressful situation! They were suppose to be the best! They aren’t! Go to Milton Hersey!

Chop Buerger Center staff is always very kind, professional, sincerely passionate, and honestly the best at what they do! My child has had 2 surgeries with them so far, has had accurate diagnosis “THE FIRST TIME” whenever he’s seen by one of their specialists, and thanks to this place of business he’s able to have a better quality care of life! I always recommend other parents to this location and honestly do wish that this location also offered primary care because that’s how amazing their services are! 10’s, 10’s, 10’s from me! I have always had nothing, but positive and uplifting experiences with them assisting my son.

My son was dealing with crazy head, back, and chest pain for about two weeks, chop is the only hospital to take the time to figure out what was happening to him, we originally took him to 5 other hospitals before going to chop. We found out he has hunter syndrome and chop is helping him feel and act like a normal 4 year old again! So thankful for everyone in chop!

I visited Burger Center for Advanced Pediatric Care for an EKG test. The appointment was scheduled over the phone and when we visited, we were attended on time. The test was quick and the doctor was very professional. Parking: Please look for the sign board that says "PARKING B BUERGER". Also don't forget to take the parking ticket with you to the lobby where they will scan your parking ticket to pay less for the parking.

There's no point in having a family show up at 630 in the morning if your going to make them wait almost an hour in the waiting room. What the point in that? There is absolutely no good answer. To have a sick child arrive more then an hour and half prior to the rest makes zero sense. I watched 4 people who signed in AFTER us get called back right away but we're stuck on stupid waiting in the waiting room. The availability for these is already horrible but your going to make a sick child sit for so long. I already wasn't impressed with the "feeding team" and now this has left yet again another bitter taste in my mouth

Yelp
My daughter went to see the allergist yesterday. I love that the hospital is colorful. After check in at the main building I was walked to the Buerger building. It was my first time ever being in CHOP. She's been coughing at night and sneezing at wake up almost everyday. Her primary doc couldn't find any allergies from a blood test (needed to know what exactly you wanted to test). The allergist did a more broad skin test. To my surprise nothing positive. She even did a asthma test and again nothing. What is a problem are her tonsils and adenoids. I knew they were large but she showed me where the back of my daughters nose canal was narrow because of her adenoids. We'll do a trial period for steroids but I think surgery will be the answer, since she hasn't grown into them by now and this is persistent.

Yelp
CHOP's recent really big expansion. Construction not yet completed on all floors, but what does exist is state of the art and impressive. Constructed by Turner construction. Apparently a $450 million construction job. They have received so far ~$100 million in donations, including $50 million from the Buerger Family (hence the name). A fantastic building and given CHOP a great medical center. Definitely worth stopping by just to see the walkway in the lobby - a one of a kind spiraling lobby ramp - known as the Leonard B. Kahn Walkway ($2 million). Also of interest - they dug 70 ft down to make way for a 1,500-car parking garage (one of the largest excavations of its kind in the city). Also found this additional information from another website - "During the nine-month excavation, crews hauled out roughly 300,000 cubic yards of rock. Most of the rock went to the Philadelphia International Airport and was crushed for use on a runway project." and finally, here's some additional information from the website: The facility consists of a 700,000-square-foot building and five stories of parking below, with the ability to add an additional 175,000 square feet in the future. The building was designed with input from hundreds of families and clinicians.
