First time visitors and we loved it. Young lady working was super kind to my daughter and very personable. We had Rib Tips, Brisket, Kids Qusadilla, Corn Rib, Tata Salad, Pickles, Fries ALL EXCELLENT! Tried all 3 sauces Hot, Memphis, & Sweet. Loved em all! Mix the Hot & the Sweet 😋 $43 fed 3 adults & a child with 2 drinks

1st time in this town or this Bait shop- So let’s go- Started off with the incredible order taker, she was so friendly, like you are at home with family that truly loves you! The food was like when you were a kid and you dreamed of all the incredible things you were going to have for Thanksgiving, at your Grandmother’s house (But BBQ)!! The Ribs , oh so tender and the meat fell off the bone, paired with the house fries and Rib Corn (rib corn right??? It’s a corn cob cut down the middle and deep fried and seasoned - omg …..) The GF had the Pulled pork Tater, it was fantastic also! We got a Blueberry cheesecake of some sort that was a so incredible that after I tried it I couldn’t stop (I hate blueberry) but this creation of pure kitchen talent, is what a fat kids dreams are made of! Do not let the building or the parking lot fool you as this is PREFECT BBQ, the real deal!

Clay’s House of Pig is a must-visit for barbecue lovers! I’ve been there a few times, and it’s always fantastic. The pulled pork is tender and flavorful, the sides are delicious, and the portions are generous. The laid-back, welcoming atmosphere makes it the perfect spot to enjoy some authentic Southern BBQ. Highly recommend!

Google
Great stop for quick bbq, pulled pork was a little fatty, great homemade fries, loaded potatoes, friendly service, calm and small atmosphere

Google
I ordered here prior and everything was amazing. I decided to order again today and the food was beyond horrible with the exception of the side pickles and baked beans. The ribs and the rib tips were tough, and all of the meat was unseasoned And didn’t taste fresh. Super disappointed because we ended up just throwing the food away.

Google
Rating on back story and continuing the business through tough times, rating 5+, so really really wanted to love this spot. BBQ alone 3.5 to 4 All was good and worth a stop if travelling through. However, not currently worth a detour if travelling for Q. I would stop just to support their efforts as they continue to hone their craft. Ribs - Good spice rub and profile, classic pork rub with brown sugar and spice. The ribs needed a little more time on the pit. They were just short of "competition pull". So just a bit more tender and these would have been spot on. Pulled pork - Same rub, executed well and would be a go to for any of the potatoes etc. Moist and good bark bits mixed in. Pork Belly - Well executed pig candy

Google
This was my first time here and the food was good! I got the sampler with pulled pork brisket and rib tips! The pulled pork was average to me. It really didn't have much of any smoke flavor. The rib tips on the other hand was on point! Had a sweet and spicy rub that was just right! The brisket just about melted in my mouth it was so tender! Homemade fries baked beans and pickles was on spot also! Place got busy after a while! Will be returning for some more soon! Also the staff was very friendly and willing to assist you.

Google
Absolutely fantastic! The family that owns and runs this restaurant is extremely friendly. 📌 our hometown. The ribs were perfect without any sauce. The potato salad is a must! The Porkus Maximus was so moist and a huge serving. Smoked chicken nachos were spot on too! If that's not enough, grab the corn ribs!! These Illinois girls had an awesome time with y'all!!

Yelp
Last week, driving through Tupelo, MS, I stopped again at CHOP (Clay's House of Pork). Unbelievably good pulled pork! Perfect spices! Excellent staff! And all set in a former fishing shop. Go there early, as they run out of food everyday!

Yelp
So excited our travels took us back through Tupelo - cuz that meant we HAD to stop in for BBQ at CHOP. Again a terrific experience. I had the Loaded Tater with Brisket & all the toppings....yum. Hubby had to have ribs, which he proclaimed excellent. The staff is just so darn friendly and welcoming - love it here.

Yelp
Best BBQ I've ever had. Even the sides were amazing!! I keep looking for a reason to drive back through Tupelo just so I can return here!

Todd M.

Yelp
I've never had a disappointing meal at Chop. Yesterday's ribs were awesome just like everything else I've eaten from there. Great taste and plenty of food at a decent price. The service was friendly and the food came out quick. I understand they are limited for space, but I miss the bait shop being there. It was a key part of the experience. Work with a couple of dudes (not designers) to try to get that vibe back.

Yelp
The food was amazing and if you're on the fence, jump this way. I can see why they've gotten so many accolades and mentions on the food network. No frills dining experience but as I said, the fooooddd. I'll definitely go outta my way to stop here again.

Yelp
Stopped while in town due to CHOPs being named by Food Network for beat ribs in the state. Due to the fact I am a rib snob I am qualified to judge these ribs. I will say the ribs are excellent the best I have had in a while. The ribs had the right amount of pull so it left the bite Mark's, great flavor. I got the Memphis sauce which was good had a little spice finish. I ordered the bbq "medium" potato...medium? More like xxlarge! It's enough for 4 people. This was excellent as well, full of pulled pork, cheese, sour cream, jalapenos etc. The portions are large and very reasonably priced. I would not wait to go late as they run out of proteins. I got there at 4 on a thursday and they were out of chicken and had 2 racks if ribs left...tell tell signs of great food!!

Rheonna W.

Yelp
My favorite BBQ in town! The street tacos are delicious!! We frequently get the loaded potatoes, they are beyond delicious!!!

Gladys G.

Yelp
I live right down the street from here and smell it every time I do my banking...its super yummy, I got the bbq potatoes no jalapeno, and the bbq fries med. Left overs for dinner, and it was good!! Reasonably priced and just so darn good!!! I will be back to try more and get more potatoes!!! No pictures ate it before I thought about taking one haha

Yelp
Traveled down here to the Elvis birthplace from Memphis for the day and this happened to pop up on Google Maps. I'm originally from California so I figured I might stop by and get some good ol BBQ while I was in the area. To date, this is probably the best BBQ I've had down here. I'm not sure why this place isn't hyped more, but the food is so rich and full of flavor...I can see why they call it the House of Pig. Highly recommend the Shelby and the Memphis sauce!

Katlyn M.

Yelp
The BEST local eatery in Tupelo. You seriously won't find anything this unique in MS. The food is to die for and the atmosphere is like you're eating at home with family. I don't know how Clay is jamming so much flavor in his bbq. He also has some unique entrees that put a twist on your normal bbq joint entrees. He also carries some unique local sodas that are so refreshing.

Daniel T.

Yelp
Had the beef brisket soft tacos. They were delicious. Tender beef with cole slaw in a small 4 inch soft flour wrap @ $3 each with banana peppers on the side. We ate 10 of them !!! There is a lot more food will add more and pictures next visit!

Cynthia R.

Yelp
I enjoyed the Bbq here. Me and my husband decided to have the bbq bologna sandwich. I had the sweet and spicy bbq sauce and it was just as expected sweet in the beginning with a hint of spicy. The best part was it was locally owned. We even got to speak to the owner and he was very friendly.

Kristin W.

Yelp
On a road trip from TX to GA and have been eating BBQ all the way. Had pork and brisket street tacos here. They were excellent. Wish I had ordered more of the brisket by itself because it was the best I've had. Meat was flavorful and juicy. Homemade pickles and loaded baked potato salad were also very good. Staff was friendly and got to talk to the owner who was also very friendly.

Yelp
CHOP is what southern BBQ is about. This place is run by an honest, down home kinda man that puts every ounce of love he has into his food and you know it the moment that aroma hits your nose ! Ive never had a bad meal here. I've never felt more at home than when I come here. Mr.Clay takes the time to talk with his customers and ask how they are and how they like their food. On busy days you can see him with the orderbook going down the line taking orders so everyone is served faster. And faster here doesnt mean wrong. The order is just never wrong , in my experience . People have come across the globe to have a bite of what I like to call Southern Comfort as it is THE ULTIMATE comfort food. This place is original in every aspect. Prepare to be pleased like never before. Once you have CHOP - you never go back to those others who clearly just imitate going through the motions.

Yelp
Ate inside combo bait/tackle shop with table and booths inside. There are some tables and chairs outside as well as a take out window. For starters doesn't anybody smile in this place just not welcoming. Pull pork sandwich with 2 sides. Second order Brisket with beans and Coleslaw. It's first and foremost about the meat. The pork was tender and flavorful by itself. The Memphis sauce was the way to go. Brisket was way too fatty had lost a lot of my order just from fat. The flavor was fine and obviously moist due to the fat. Sides: loaded baked potato salad - so rich don't have your cholesterol check after eating it. Beans were sweet with bacon in them nice flavor. Coleslaw OK. Go back again I just don't know.

JR M.

Yelp
Clay and his team are as good as it gets. Don't short yourself, order the rib tips. If you're feeling extra hungry get a potato, it won't disappoint.

John D.

Yelp
Best bar b que anywhere around! Friendliest folks you could want! Huge menu and it is all good! Everything is prepared fresh when you order it! The best ribs in the state and that's the opinion of Food Network! I eat there once a week if possible!

Brett L.

Yelp
Ribs were among some of the best I've had. Very moist and juicy. Well spiced rub went well with the Memphis sauce. I tried the sweet sauce, but didn't care for it. Tasted the loaded potato salad, beans and nachos. All were of excellent taste and quality. I would recommend trying the meat before saucing as it stands very well on its own.

Maddison C.

Yelp
The absolute best BBQ I have had. The nachos are loaded with any topping you can think of such as queso, slaw, and jalapenos. It is a hidden gem in Tupelo. I will definitely be back and have recommended to everyone I can.

Lisa J.

Yelp
I asked the girl about the jumbo bq tatar would it feed 2 people and she told me so i ordered 2 and didn't get what she said im not happy at all i ordered a regular for a friend a couple of days ago and got a lot more for 7.99 then what i got for 9.99 im very upset will not get food from them again

Wise J.

Yelp
Excellent ribs. The ''Memphis'' sauce pairs perfectly with the ribs. Loaded baked potato salad likewise awesome.

Adam H.

Yelp
Disappointing. This place has gotten a lot of hype on FB, so I gave it try. The barbecue sandwich was fatty and greasy, yet oddly lacking in flavor. I had baked beans with it, and they were excellent, but that's the only positive.
