Chorotegas Surf School

Amazing experience! Justin and the rest of team took the time we needed and pushed my daughter to next level, it paid off!

I had a wonderful session with Rodrigo. He helped me build a ton of confidence, hone my fundamentals, and helped me catch one of the largest waves I’d ever had the pleasure of riding. Cheers my friend. I’d highly recommend these guys to anyone!

Our family has taken lessons with Tanallo and Chorotegas for years. We were excited to be back in Nosara, but I wasn't sure I was going to like all the new things with the new hotel. We ended up loving it! The new surf shop is organized and flows well. The pipa Fria (cold coconut water) at the end of each lesson is a Stellar addition. Tanallo's instruction is still patient and informative, and he still helps me find great local coffee beans, takes our crew fishing at the river mouth!, and introduces us to great local restaurants. We brought friends with us, and everyone had successful experience with all of their surf instructors! Everyone was standing on the board by the end of their first day, and one newbie even made it outback on day 3. 10/10 recommend. Tanallo and his team are the best. Local knowledge of the Guiones break helped me and my son pick the right sections for better wave selection. Will keep going back to Chorotegas!

Surf School is located only minutes from the beach and you will be rewarded with a fresh pipa fria (cold coconut) after your session. An added video analysis of your session is super helpful to progress. Thanks for the best time! <3

From flight instruction, ski instruction, etc…I’ve taken tons of lessons from private instructors. Tanallo is on another level. Having surfed a handful of times in the US east coast, Nosara waves were intimidating at first. He had my wife and I standing up quickly and had me comfortably surfing the larger off-shore waves on my first lesson (I’m 46 yrs old). He gets results, and makes you feel safe and calm even in “big” waves. Part surf instructor, part life coach and philosopher, Tanallo is a special person. I recommend him with complete confidence. Can’t wait to surf with him again

Right away I knew Jostin would be an amazing instructor. He was super friendly and had amazing energy. He taught me how to stand up on the first day, and on the second day, he further improved my technique. If I am ever in Nosara again, I will take more lessons with him!

I'm from Florida and don't have much experience. The waves were too big! The "small days" of my trip would've been the biggest day of the year in FL! Jordan and the boys took me out and not only played "lifeguard..." they coached me up and got me into some of the best waves I've ever seen let alone ridden. Whatever your skill level, these guys are cool. They will get you dialed in to the new surf spot and get you riding waves. And get every wave you take on video. Highly recommend calling them! Totally worth it! You're spending all this money for the trip, these guys will ensure you score!
