We got the banquet menu, which for the most part was good. We were generally impressed by the wait staff who left good first impressions. But things went downhill with how long we had to wait for food to come out. All up it took about 2 hrs for the full banquet to come out, with most of it coming out towards the end. There was no apology or explanation either, they delivered the food as if it were standard business for them. So be mindful of what may be BAU extra long wait times if you do decide to dine here.
We were also in a rush with plans that we had booked right after lunch, so the relaxing lunch we had hoped for, turned out to be more anxiety and rage inducing. I say rage inducing more because of the crazy amount of flies that were hanging around, but I can’t of course mark the venue down for this since they don’t have any special fly repellent powers. But overhead ceiling fans would help with what felt like a fly infestation, or at least those cute table fans to keep them away from the food.
Food wise, the highlight was the wagyu skewers, though a tad under-salted. The fried squid was nice and tender. The roti canai was super crispy. The greens had a nice wok hei sort of flavour. The Malaysian yellow curry was very disappointing, very bland and didn’t taste anything like the authentic Malaysian curries I’ve had and cooked before, and I should know being Malaysian myself. I can’t remember the rest which more means they left neither an extremely positive nor negative impression.
