Saturday, July 6, 2024 Everything perfectly the same! Still 5 stars! Came in with the birding group again too. I ordered the same exact thing too. Worth every penny. Like someone else mentioned in a post the sauce does remind me of steak sauce, probably why I like it so much. This is not like your regular sweet bbq sauce. This is one of my favorite bbq places. If you asked me-I have three favorite places I recommend for bbq and this is one of them. I don’t know why this restaurant doesn’t have a higher rating. Saturday, July 10, 2021 Everything was fantastic! I came in with a birding group and they handled all of us very well. I think someone did call a head of time to let them know we had a big group coming. We probably only waited 20-25 minutes for our food. We expected at least 45. The bbq meat/sauce was smokey and more of a vinaigrette. The fries and fried pickles were good and so was their banana pudding! Also, their ranch is really good too. I highly recommend!

Loved it. Food was tasty and well priced. People were friendly. Glad we pulled over to get out of the rain. Will def. Visit again.

Worst bbq sandwich I’ve ever attempted to eat, it tasted the way wintergreen dip smells. I took one bite and literally gagged. I’ll never be back.

Good BBQ. Fish plate was large with 2 fillers. Field peas especially good. Server fast and friendly

Ordered a kids plate with 2 sides and the baste was horrible! The ribs were burnt and the sauce that was on it was no better!! This is a Small grilled chicken salad and the cost is $10!! Highly disappointed! I know small, but this is more of a side salad.

It was my first time trying this restaurant and I wish I never went. I ordered two rib plates with bake bean, green bean, potato salad, and cole slaw and three kids tender plates with fries. My total was $66.80. The ribs were so burnt and so hard I couldn’t even eat them. Then it was like they soaked the ribs in water to soften them up (no season). Which didn’t help but make them taste worst. Then I asked about the bbq sauce, he stated,” it on there.” The sauce had a burn taste and was nothing but water and didn’t taste anything like bbq sauce. One end of the ribs was so hard and burnt that you couldn’t even eat it. The sides were so nasty and unseasoned. Cole slaw was like they just blended and threw it on the plate. Potato salad was ok the only thing that was ok. The chicken tenders were good and the fries were nothing but potatoes and grease. Also he threw in some peach cobbler which was also disgusting.. I wouldn’t recommend this place for my dog..

Don't even get me started on how much my grandparents love their Cole slaw. My personal choice is obviously their bbq but also their chicken. The service is great and the people are to kind. There is a young lady that works at the window usually AMAZING. Your food will be out in a flash. The feel I get of this place is how I get when I go into a nice small bbq restaurant. SO FUN the booths are really squishy and make it so comfortable. Always the highlight of my day A MUST-TRY.

I ordered the Rib plate with 3 sides. I got fried mushrooms , Fried Green Tomatoes , and Potato Salad. They were all very delicious . I got so much food that I have a complete meal for dinner. The ribs were huge and meaty. Very tender. We will be back for sure.

The best damn burgers in this town. They make ''em fries home made too. It may not look like much but it will be the shit! The chocolate pie is very good too !!!

Brisket was very dry and had little flavor. Potato salad and Cole slaw both had a weird taste. Pulled pork was more like shredded than pulled, was also very dry and had a strange taste. Couldn't even cover the taste with BBQ sauce because both of their BBQ sauces tasted like straight worchestershire sauce. In my opinion the price is a little high, especially since the food was sub-par. Paid almost $50 for a pork plate, a brisket plate, cheese sticks and 2 drinks. Definitely would not recommend.

Ordered hamburger and French fries. Got home fried were raw barely heated through. Done with Chris

I use to love this place. I am a local and can honestly say it's sad to see this place go down hill. It takes FOREVER to get your food. The food is now ok but not great like it use to be especially for the price. Sometimes you even get stuff you can't eat and after waiting for 40 mins (for a basic meal in the drive thru) you know it's not worth it to get it re-made. Just sad how this place has gone to crap.

Stumbled upon this spot while wondering aimlessly through the great state of Alabama. On the corner of a busy intersection in this part of the state. I asked the waitress to order for me of all the best thing of Chris's. She came back with 2 plates of food!!! Huge portions of food. See the photos. I was very excited to try it all. At first glance it is all very appealing but alas so few places can cook bbq without drying it out. Let's talk about what was great, potato salad was better than I have had in years. Mayo based with a perfect twang and not too much pickle to overpower the experience. Fried okra was cooked perfectly with just the right amount of crunch to chew ratio. The failure started with the very dry ribs. You will be thrown off by the "A-1" style bbq sauce. It actually didn't take away from the bbq but it didn't exactly help the meat other than for moisture. Chopped pork was good but lacked anything to set it apart. The chicken was down right horrible. Way over cooked and I am left wondering if it is yesterday's chicken. Result is I would come back for the sides and the burger looked good but I haven't eaten it.

Stopped by the drive thru on a Saturday morning to grab a couple of biscuits. They were out of biscuits at 9am which was frustrating and very unfriendly. Altered our order to French Toast, paid, and sat in the drive thru for over 30 minutes waiting on an order of French Toast. Tried getting someone's attention but they refused to acknowledge us. Ended up leaving with no toast after paying for our order and waiting 35-40 minutes.

The ribs are awesome and the fried mushrooms. Love that you have so much selection on the sides. There is something for everyone. Local family owned business.

The big blonde lady at the counter was rude clicking her pen at my husband wanting us to hurry up and order but why would you have people order up at the front if you wanted them to hurry we never been there before but we ended up leaving because she just had a bad attitude and like one lady said before she's really got disturbed that we were even in there

Stopped in here for lunch and was not disappointed. The portions were generous. I got the pork plate, the meat was melt in your mouth good, a good Smokey flavor and the sauce complemented the meat. My sides were baked beans cold slaw and potato salad, all were good. I will be back.

Outstanding! I had the summer salad along with the wings and was very impressed. Try their signature BBQ sauce on the wings and you'll not be disappointed.we plan on coming back tomorrow so I'll be trying the ribs! ;) I went back that next day for the ribs and was definitely not disappointed. From the smells of cooking meat luring you to your seat in the dining room, to the mouthwatering signature BBQ sauces, to the always nice and welcoming staff, I knew that this is a restaurant where I'll be spending more time in the future.

The food is pretty good, and they give you good portions; however, be ready to WAIT. Especially if you are a female or not a regular. I watched as almost every working man (lunch) in the joint got their order before me. That included two trucks that pulled up in the drive through. I get wanting to keep their regulars happy, but this could have been a regular spot for us. Not anymore. 2nd visit...2nd time it happened.

This is some of the best bar-b-q I have had anywhere! Pulled pork is a nice mix of juicy inside meat and charred outside meat just like I like! Very good but different sauce, homemade sides and desserts and what a value. Pulled pork special comes with 3 sides and a drink for $9 and you will be stuffed when finished! Nothing at all fancy, just down home good food and friendly service.

This place is terrible!!! The restaurant is dirty. They have nasty bathrooms, food was terrible, and so was the service. This place was recommended to our group and we were very disappointed! Our group had the BBQ, burgers, and wings. The pulled pork was dry, the burgers were nasty, and the wings were undercooked. There was only 4 in our group and it took over 30 minutes to get our food.

I moved to Alabama from Oklahoma and prior to that Texas two years ago. Anyone from this part of the country loves their BBQ. I have been in search of a good location since my arrival and honestly I have found OK locations but not necessarily great. I have to say for Alabama Chris's is at the top of my list for the Montgomery area. I would highly recommend the beef cubes/tips they serve. The BBQ sauce is very dark but OUTSTANDING! The turkey was very tasty but a little too salty for me to finish (personal preference). I ordered the ribs as well and specified the end piece as I always find it has better flavor. The end was outstanding but as I moved to the meatier part of the rib it became to fatty and flavorless for my taste but most pork rib lovers will find it adequate. The collard greens were very good and the potato salad as well. I really wanted to try the pulled pork but they were out as it was late. Customer service was very good. The young lady at the counter was very helpful with me to help with the selections. I would highly recommend for the Prattvile/Montgomery area.

Over priced small portions! The BBQ isn't even that great. And you have to pay extra for slaw, really?!!! What's BBQ w/out the slaw! The TEA was horrible also. Definitely NOT worth the money!

Yum! Great pulled pork sandwiches and baked beans!! I agree about the sauce review- different but awesome!! I always ask for extra on the side to din my fries in :)

This is a barbecue joint that you will either love or hate. The reason I say that is because of the sauce. If you go in expecting a sweet, sticky tomato based sauce, or a vinegar or mustard based sauce, you're going to be sorely disappointed. Chris's sauce is a blackish brown sauce that I haven't seen anywhere else. It's delicious, but it will definitely throw you for a loop the first time you try it. The meat is always tender and perfectly smoked. I've dined there many, many times and I've never had a bad meal. The breakfast is a great value, and their burgers are great too. The new owners have done a great job maintaining the heritage of this 20+ year old business.

The food is ok and the breakfast is pretty good but the service is beyond terrible. Incredibly slow and rarely will you get even the hint of a smile. We stopped going because they always make you feel like you are bothering them by ordering food there, especially if it is a call in order

They packed my go plate with petrified fries and okra so hard it was like trying to chew gravel. Extra pickles were ordered and not received. This isn't the first time this has happened, but it will be the last.

Super friendly staff! We were just passing through on Hwy 82 and stopped for lunch! Definitely recommend!!!

Love their hamburger steak with gravy and onions! And their banana pudding is just like my Mama used to make!

Not the most luxurious place; but, food is excellent at reasonable prices. Owner should renovate restaurant for more attraction.

I've eaten there a few times. Pretty good BBQ, Great Pulled Pork, and probably the best homemade Bananna Pudding from a restaurant I've ever had. All for a decent price too.

I waited more than an hour to receive the daily lunch special!!! There were many people who came into the store after I got there and was served before I left.l They also ordered the daily lunch special. With over an hour wait, my food was cold when I received it. They never have to worry about my business again. EVER.
