This place was a pleasant surprise. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the service and food are wonderful. The menu seems a bit scary at >$21 an entre, but it's worth every penny. The chicken was the best I have had in a restaurant. The only way I can describe it is "it tastes like summer". The dips were all incredible and the rice and potatoes were simply seasoned yet perfect. The service was astonishingly friendly, and the food came out fairly fast even though it was busy. If you get a chance, give this place a try!

Chris’ Taverna on Hypoluxo Road is one of those restaurants that keeps you coming back year after year. I was originally introduced to their original location off Jog Road, and I’ve been a fan ever since. When they opened the Hypoluxo location closer to my home at the time, I was honestly thrilled. It made it even easier to enjoy some truly great Greek food. What really sets Chris’ Taverna apart is how authentic everything tastes. I actually lived in Greece for a short time, and I miss it dearly. Eating here genuinely takes me right back. The flavors, the ingredients, and the way the dishes are prepared feel incredibly true to what you’d find in a real Greek taverna. One small detail that always stands out to me is their tomatoes—they are hands down the best tomatoes I’ve had at any restaurant. They’re fresh, flavorful, and taste exactly like the tomatoes you get in Greece. Anyone who’s had a proper Greek salad knows how important that is, and Chris’ Taverna absolutely nails it. Even though I don’t live in the area anymore, I make it a point to stop in every time I’m back down this way. That alone says a lot about how good the place is. If you’re going for the first time, I highly recommend the gyro paired with a Mythos beer. It’s simple, classic, and absolutely delicious. If you’re looking for authentic Greek food in South Florida, Chris’ Taverna is the real deal. Highly recommended.

The food was ok. It was more of a fast food feel and taste compared to the several other Greek places we dined. The gyro was very saturated in oil and served simply as meat. The Greek French fires were pretty. The portions were fairly large.

OMG, my family and I love this place and we took my mom here for Mother’s Day’s lunch and she loved it, too! The food is always fresh and the portions are huge. It’s tasty, flavorful, and off the charts delicious. My favorite is the souvlaki salad as it chocked full of meat and salad vegetables, so yummy! This was my first time trying Greek food and it was a great experience. I got the Grecian Platter which also came with a salad and pita. I start with the salad and pita which was new to me I've never had I'm assuming feta cheese which comes on the salad, but when the Platter came out I was shocked I've never seen so much meat on one plate before. When u look at the picture that's all meat stacked on that plate. So for my carnivors out there if you wanna get your money's worth Chris' Tavern is definitely the place to go.

What can I say about this place? Awesome Greek food and a great choice when you can't make it to the one in Lake Worth. Went there for the first time with our friend, and it did not disappoint. Good service, great choices, and super clean Greek cuisine. Many times, people ask on social media about Greek food, and my only answer is always "Chris' Taverna ." The reason why is simple: I was born and raised in Greece, and worked in restaurants for 25 years of my life, on the floor and in the kitchens. Chris' Taverna has the closest quality to the place I would open and eat, and that is why I suggest it all the time. My hopes are that these restaurants will remain the same formyears to come. Thank you to all the people involved in their success, and we will be back, as always.

Extensive menu with each food item a delight to eat. The lamb chops are special and cooked to perfection. From appetizers to entres the food is delicious. Whether you dine fir lunch or dinner you will not be disappointed with your choice. Highly recommend. Suggest you arrive prior to 5 p.m. on weekends. No reservations.

I get takeout from here quite a bit. Solid menu options. Gyro meat is always excellent. They dont' skimp on the tziki. Great place - always seems to busy to actually get a table but I always do takeout anyway. Takeout bags are always prepped well.

My parents and grandparents love coming here for the quality of food and good prices. The favs are the gyro and the lamb chops. The lamp chops are huge, lots of meat and they give you 5 of them. Seasonings were perfect, one was a little too salty but overall cooked to perfection. I love the side of the lemony potatoes and a salad. For two sides and the meal of lamb chops for $38 you can't beat that for the portion and quality. I split the meal with my grandma and I saw other people splitting meals as well. No splitting charge! And no charge for using a credit card. The gyro platter and gyro sandwich are huge and the meat is succulent. You can see them carving it off the spits in the front. On a Saturday night at 6:30 the place was packed but we only waited 10 min to sit inside when we were told 20. They are very quick but they don't rush you out. Service is excellent and attentive. It's loud if seated inside. My grandma had a tough time hearing me. Even if you are not a Greek food fan like me I recommend to try this place. I don't usually like tzatziki sauce or feta but I like them both here! They also give you complimentary pita.

I was very disappointed with the $28 grilled chicken platter. The food itself was average at best, nothing memorable and certainly not worth the price. The hummus was watery and completely lacking in flavor. The Greek salad was the strongest side dish, but it was simply lettuce, a bit of cheese, and dressing, not exactly a culinary achievement, and again, not worth $28. When I first approached the counter, I asked for a menu since it was my first time there. Instead of offering any guidance, the cashier asked for my name and immediately pressed me for an order. When I repeated that I needed a menu, he reluctantly handed one over but seemed irritated that I wasn't ready to order. I felt I was clear that I had never been there before, but that didn't seem to register with him. The restaurant itself is a hole in the wall, which can often be charming when the food is exceptional. In this case, however, the quality didn't measure up, leaving the atmosphere feeling more like an unremarkable strip mall spot than a hidden gem. I regret spending so much for so little. I've never been to Greece, but I have been to Istanbul, so I know what truly great grilled chicken and hummus should taste like, and this was nowhere near it. At best, this meal should have been $15. The prices here are outrageous for what they deliver.

Chris' Taverna remains a popular place for Greek food because, simply put, it's good food. We enjoyed our recent visit. The service was excellent and the portion sizes were quite large. Upon seating, the server promptly gave us a plate of warm, fresh pita bread and a house-made tahini for dipping. Great way to start dinner! For my dinner, I had the chicken caesar salad wrap with french fries. It was delicious, and I could barely finish it because it was so large. My wife had the chicken santorini, which had been recommended by a friend. It consisted of grilled chicken with sauteed tomatoes, feta cheese, onions and rice. The proportion of chicken to the other ingredients was a bit light, but the flavors were good, and she'd pass along the recommendation to others. Note: a shrimp version of this dish is also available. For her side dish, my wife had hummus. It was a good-sized portion and had a pleasant taste although it was a little thinner than she had expected. Our friends had the pastitsio, which is essentially a Greek version of lasagna, with layers of macaroni and ground beef. Very dense and delicious. They had plenty of leftovers. The atmosphere is okay but a bit dated, as the walls were filled with photographic murals of Greek cities. The overhead fluorescent lighting was a little harsh. We certainly had no trouble seeing our food. Overall, we had a pleasant dining experience and will be back sooner rather than later.

This salad it amazing! The chicken is so flavorful and I love the dressing!! If you love Greek salad definitely give Chris'Taverna a try! They have 2 locations in the area. You won't be disappointed!

Stopped in for a light bite. Casual place with the menu expected at a Greek place. It is nicer than fast food pita place and more casual than a formal sit down tablecloth restaurant. We had gyro pita which comes with either Greek salad or fries. The meat was plentiful and seasoned - maybe too salty for some. I thought the prices were high, but it's one of the best Greek places around

The best Greek food I have ever had. I order take out 3-4 times per week from here. My go to is the grilled chicken or octopus Greek salad which comes with free pita bread and Tzatziki sauce and rice stuffed grapes leaves (my favorite). The salad is huge and fresh, you must try this place.

We were camping in Lake Worth and looking for a nice place to have dinner. So after I went to Publix, we passed Chris's Taverna in the same shopping Center. We walked in and it reminded me of a Pizza Place in Brooklyn! There were many people cooking and just a few patrons. Within an hour the place was bustling inside and out, George was our waiter extraordinaire! He was so happy and so polite he made me smile. I was ready for him to skip and get our food. We all ordered different items but received pita bread and tzatziki before our meal started. I got the gyro and a side greek salad, my sister in law the grilled chicken and David got the best. A trio of three homemade Greek dishes, spanakopita, moussaka and pastitsio. I probably ate half of his and brought most of mine home! By the time we left, every table was full inside and out. George brought out boxes to take home food. He's probably the sweetest waiter anyone could ask for. While we are visiting we will definitely return for another great meal!

I only have wonderful things to say about either of their locations. The service is top notch, the food is amazing. Gotta go early to get a table! Sit outside... it's the beautiful time of year. Go and enjoy!

I love this place. My family and I go often. The food is so fresh. It's incredible. My favorite is the spanakopita. It can get pretty busy, but I have never not gotten a seat. The service is top-notch and it's very family oriented and comfortable.

So.... I have been on a Greek salad and gyro kick lately and I have to tell you that this place is the best in town! The portion size is huge!!!!!!!! And their Taziki sauce is out of this world..... don't be shy to ask for more , they really take pleasure in giving you a ridiculous amount! I have eaten at this place now over 5 times and I don't see myself stopping any time soon!

Traditional down to earth Greek restaurant. Open kitchen. We came for lunch. We had a gyro pita with fries and a gyro salad on the lunch menu. My salad was huge. It was an entrée size, and I had to take home a good portion of it. The salad was only $20 and the Pita was $16. They both came with a drink. Love the place will definitely come back again .

The food was pretty good while the service was okay. The Hummus and Pita appetizer was a great start to the meal. The Grilled Octopus Salad was good, but the octopus was a bit undercooked. I would go back.

I was here for lunch and ordered off of their lunch menu. They have a large selection to choose from, and they all include a Greek salad or French fries, pita with tzatziki sauce, and a soda. It's a lot of food for not a lot of money. Most importantly, the food is fresh and delicious. The Mousaka was excellent. Layers of eggplant, ground beef, thinly sliced potatoes, and topped with a creamy bechamel sauce. The portion was large enough that I had enough leftover for dinner. Instead of fries, I had the Greek salad. They left off the stuffed grape leave and gave me a few extra olives. My salad was very good and it was pretty big for a side salad so I couldn't finish it. The warm pita bread is good, but their tzatziki is simply amazing. They use a lot of garlic, and honestly, they make the best tzatziki sauce I have ever had. Period. This is a casual restaurant with no ambiance, and they do a lot of take-out. The dining room is simple, but it's clean. My server was friendly and attentive, and he was around if I needed anything. He even hooked me up with extra olives. Best lunch I have had in a while. I had delicious food, with great service, and enough leftover for dinner. The price point was less than fifteen dollars before tip. I 100% recommend Chris's for reasonably priced Greek food, which is utterly delicious.

This Greek restaurant is one of our favorites. They're located in a shopping mall on south east corner of Jog Rd and Lantana. Be ready to struggle to find parking. Best to park in the back and walk. This restaurant is always jam packed! All hours of the day! Inside and outdoor seating is always full. We prefer to order and pick up. We ordered the Pita wrap. They always provide extra tsatziki sauce for free. The Greek fries are loaded with feta cheese! The prices are not reasonable. This is a higher than norm priced Greek spot but because the food is so good.... The customers keep going and paying! If you have not tried this.. go ahead!

Why go to Greece when you can just go to Chris' Taverna? Their food is fantastic, it's a great casual dining option, and they have nice large portions. Get the wheel burrow because you'll be rolling out of there. I'm pretty sure my boyfriend would leave me for the lamb shank if given the option and their gyro is bomb.com. Prices have gone up but that hasn't deterred us one bit. Eat in house or take it to go - either way, you won't be sorry you tried this.

Great casual Greek. Huge portions even off the lunch menu. The Boynton location is the smaller one with just a few outside tables, but the food is just as fresh and delicious. If you're in the area and want great Greek - don't miss it!

On a bustling Thursday evening, the fam and I arrived at 6:25 pm to find only outdoor seating (dog friendly) available, which they said would be no wait. They mentioned a 20-25 minute wait if we wanted indoor seating, but it turned out to be just 5 minutes. We were seated at the very back, which I didn't mind at all. The cool ambiance and lovely paintings made the experience enjoyable. Our server, Lucia (Lucy), was quick and attentive. Here's what we ordered: Elenis Combo (5/5): Moussaka, Pastitsio, and Spanakopita. All three dishes had great flavor, with my favorite being the Pastitsio - layers of ground beef, macaroni, and bechamel sauce. Grecian Platter: Lamb chops, loukaniko (sausage), gyro meat, and souvlaki meat. Both dishes included a Greek salad, pita, and tzatziki. The portions were generous, easily serving 3 of us twice over, making it sufficient for a party of 5-6 people! We walked out around 745pm and majority of the indoor seats were open!

I'm so sorry that I live 4 hrs away from this fabulous Greek food. What Chris's Taverna lacks in ambiance it makes up for in delicious Greek food. The place is nothing to look at with your basic tables and chairs mostly grouped in fours. The service was friendly & efficient on this Sunday evening. We had no wait for a table but as we were leaving @7 pm it started to get really busy with a line out the door. Entrees come with a few slices of pita bread and a tasty tzatziki. They also come with a choice of two sides. Portions are large here & unless you have a huge appetite I'd suggest sharing. I had a side Greek salad which was plenty and the appetizer of shrimp saganaki. It was very large big enough for an entree. The shrimp were large and perfectly cooked. It was in a sauce of onions and tomatoes with garlic and then the feta was baked on top. Perfectly delicious! My dining companions had a shrimp wrap and a Grecian platter. The Grecian platter was HUGE and could have been split more than 2 ways. We took home most of it & it must have weighed 4 lbs. even after some was eaten. I highly recommend this gem of a place.

Absolutely fantastic authentic Greek food! We had lamb, gyro meat, grilled chicken, and marinated pork that was all incredible. I would eat the pita and tzatziki every day if I could. Waiter was very friendly and helpful. They had indoor and outdoor seating available. The location is in a strip mall so the outdoor seating is next to the parking lot but we still had an enjoyable meal outside!

Nice friendly and good fresh food. Portions are generous. I had chicken gyro and side of hummus. I was satisfied and full.

I can eat at Chris Tavern every single day. I've been there multiple times and it has become one of my favorites. The food is soo good the staff is wonderful .

I've gotten takeout from here a couple of time, but I do have to say the food is a little better when eating in, you can also avoid all the styrofoam containers that way. The restaurant is casual, with a bunch of tables out front, they have some fans setup so in the evening it was nice out there. Service was friendly and efficient. The baba ghanoush was a super tasty appetizer, and I really enjoyed my branzino entrée. There was a ton of food, we both took a lot of leftovers home with us.

Wow! Talk about deliciousness on a plate! I ordered the Shrimp over Greek salad and let me tell ya - My shrimp were so flavorful and well seasoned. They had that perfect 'Pop' without being overcooked. I thought the dressing could have used a little more vinegar, and citrus...but I mixed in the tzatziki sauce with the salad which was a great compliment. The pita was so tender and soft, the salad had a bountiful amount of tomatoes, cucumbers,olives, onions and yummy pepperocinis, JUST the way I like it. A perfect amount of feta and a stuffed grape leaf. The waiter said the desserts were homemade, and I really wanted to try the baklava but I was so full I couldn't eat it right away, but I had to have it! So I waited a few hours. WELL, it was sooooo good I was drinking the syrup. Phenomenal Baklava. Worth way more than it cost. For a shrimp salad, drink, and dessert it came out to $32 with tax. Honestly I think this was the best meal of my trip. The service was helpful and quick, and the restaurant is low key - not fancy or stuffy. Just great food and relaxing. Indoor/outdoor seating, and very clean. I Will be returning when I visit the area again and tell my friends who are local about Chris'!

Feta late than never, it's time to pay homage to the best Greek food in PBC IMHO. Apollo-gies for the chessy puns in advance. The ambiance is casual and inviting, you can almost hear "I can be your gyro babyyyy" playing in the background faintly. Service is always fast and friendly. Now the food, first off, they drown you in fresh pita bread and an ocean of tzatziki sauce. If that wasn't enough for you, the portions are generous and the food is delicious. My go-to is the classic gyro and feta fries but everything is worth a try :)

So, come whenever I'm in the area for lunch, always a good experience. This weekend we were going to my mother in law for Mothers Day and wanted to cater for the group. I was a little hesitant because they don't have a dedicated catering menu. I called, staff had George the manager call be back and he asked about what we had in mind. Well, it was a home run. A great spread, plenty of great quality choices and within our budget. Every single person commented on the quality/variety of the food. Great job Chris' Taverna, made some new Greek food fans and the rest of us happy.

We have been to their original location in Lake Worth many times. This is a much smaller restaurant also in a shopping center. Very nice wall murals of Santorini. They start you with a plate of pita bread and tzatziki sauce, definitely the best thing. My wife wasn't very hungry so she ordered the Souvlaki Wrap appetizer. Just fair. I tried the Souvlaki Wrap , chargrilled chunks of marinated pork with lettuce, tomatoes, onions & tzatziki sauce. Served with a choice of Greek salad or French fries. The pork was tough and hard to chew. Not good.

The food was exceptional--flavorful, fresh, and generously portioned. Every dish we tried impressed. The hummus was creamy and well-seasoned, and the spanakopita, gyro plate, and salads were all vibrant and satisfying. A special mention goes to the baked lemon herb potatoes--possibly the best I've ever had. It's a small, modest spot with no standout decor, but it was very clean and well-kept. While it may not be the kind of place you go for the setting, it makes up for that in other ways. The service was truly outstanding. Our server was patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful with recommendations. He took the time to explain flavor profiles and made the experience smooth and enjoyable. An 8/10 experience--definitely worth the visit. Great food, excellent service, and good value for the money. I'd happily return if I'm in the area again.

First time dining in, ordered takeout twice. Plenty of parking, long hours, friendly staff, and reasonable prices. Food They started us with their fantastic tzatziki sauce, which started us off in the right direction. They gave us so much that we put it on everything we ordered. It might be why we enjoyed our meal. Shrimp s-something Yummy red sauce, light in flavor, but the shrimp are large and a shareable portion. Gyro platter- comes with two sides. We choose eggplant, my husband's favorite, and lemon potatoes, my favorite. A very generous portion of meat, potato, and sides. They didn't charge for ordering an extra pita, which is made fresh. The potatoes were huge and didn't have much lemon seasoning as you would expect with Greek lemon potatoes. The meat was glistening and cooked to perfection. Overall, very good. I would compare it to gyromania as far as flavor goes. Not out of this world fantastic, but it is good. What would make it five stars? More seasoning on their shrimp and lemon potatoes. Large quantities are nice, but the consistent seasoning wasn't there for me with the side items.

Service is quick and friendly. The restaurant is always packed to the hilt. The food is very good; and large portions. I love the lamb chops and my wife loves bronzino. There are many choices of Greek food. I would tell you to try this restaurant. There is outside dining.

Came here for lunch with my bestie. It wasn't super crowded so we had a choice for seating. Sweetest waitress took our drink order and recommended dishes. I stuck with my old faithful gyro wrap and a side of Greek salad. We dug right into the warm pita bread and creamy cucumber tzatziki sauce that comes as a starter with every meal. It's hard to not eat more than one piece but I have to pace myself so I have room for my actual meal. Greek salad is always so fresh and crunchy and a good portion to share. I was pretty full by the time my gyro came out but I still managed to take a few bites of the succulent beef and lamb mixed meat that just pours out of the pita wrap. I had to force myself to stop munching on the Greek French fries. Who can say no to fries with feta cheese. Can't wait to eat the rest of my gyro wrap and fries later!

Consistently the best gyro in town. Give you enough meat to make two gyros. Always fresh and hot. Great service, humble atmosphere.

The food is so good you'll forget to take pictures! We order the gyro platter and get side salad and Greek fries. The complimentary tzatziki and pita are an amazing start to your meal. The pita is always warm and the tzatziki is punchy with garlic. It's the best tzatziki I've ever had. The salad always has the freshest ingredients. The tomatoes and cucumbers are so flavorful and they put a ton of feta on the salad. The gyro meat is perfectly cooked with crispy brown edges. We share this platter for two people and still have leftovers. It's a no frills dining room with tight tables but the service is always great.

This was fantastic. I am Greek and it's hard to find any authentic Greek places outside of my own home. Absolutely delicious. I don't live in this area but if I did I would eat here many times during the week. Will recommend to my friends that live in the area.

Visited in a Saturday evening, the place was packed and very loud. The food and service was good and portions are generous but the atmosphere is more suited for lunch than a dinner with friends since you can't understand what the other people at the table are saying due to the loud atmosphere. Would not return for dinner.

Another weekend exploring another city in Florida. We ended up in Palm Beach Gardens looking around and as noon approached we hit yelp only to discover that there wasn't very many restaurants in the area and what was there, didn't have the best ratings. This lead me to start looking for somthing interesting on our way home and this is how we found Chris's Taverna. Their ratings on Yelp are good, especially when you figure out that there are two of these restaurants and combined they have more than 1500 reviews and they are both well over 4.5 stars. The food here is excellent and the portions are huge. Initially we were a bit set back since we were not expecting most entrees to be north of $20 but when you see the portion size and taste the quality of the food, this place offers a great value We shared the Gyro Platter with two sides and chose the Lemon Potatoes and the Orzo with tomato sauce. We ended up with enough left overs for at least one if not two more lunches! Everything we had was obviously home made and make sure you ask for extra Tzatziki Sauce, it was the best Tzatziki Sauce I have had since my last trip to Greece.

Everyone loves Chris' Taverna and it's no wonder! From the friendly wait staff willing to explain each dish, to the lively Greek music playing in the background, to the huge wall murals that make you feel like you're sitting at a cafe in Greece... it's always a great meal here. - Sit down and you're brought complimentary warm pita and a side of their delicious tzatziki. - We started tonight with the Saganaki. Sheep's cheese cooked on a griddle til golden brown and crusty, served with grilled tomatoes and diced pimento. - I had the Souvlaki plate. Juicy chunks of marinated pork overflowed my plate, accompanied by garlicky baked lemon herb potatoes and string beans in an amazing tangy tomato sauce. - My lovely dining companion had the Octopus salad and the only negative of the night as the delicious blackened skin and suction cups and been peeled off. Still it was delicious and fork tender, but we did wish for a bit of the char.

The food is delicious- service was fast and the staff very friendly and helpful stopped in after church- I will be back soon!

The food here is incredible! I've been coming for years, the staff is super friendly and the management makes it a point to ensure your time at the restaurant is nothing short of unforgettable! You'll definitely feel like you arrived in Greece with the ambiance of this amazing restaurant! Don't forget to try the lamp chops they are the best you will ever have!!!

I do go to Chris's several times a year. I have always enjoyed their food. Always plentiful and fresh. My only problem is they are always very crowded and noisy. This does not stop me from enjoying a meal there.
