Chrissie's Hotel

This hotel is fantastic! The rooftop pool is stunning, with breathtaking views of the surrounding forest, where you can spot plenty of monkeys. The staff is kind and professional, making your stay truly enjoyable. The hotel’s restaurant is the best in town, offering exceptional food. They also organize tours with top local guides for an unforgettable experience. Highly recommended!

The hotel is in a fantastic setting, with balconies overlooking trees with a rooftop pool that looks over the town and jungle. The food is fantastic at Chrissy's cafe. What really made our stay were the hosts. Everyone who works there are amazingly hospitable, and looked after us even when we had moved to a different homestay (due to Chrissy's being fully booked). 100% recommend

Its with sadness that we leave Chrissie's and Periyar Nature Reserve. |Chrissie's hotel is one of the best, if not the best place we've stopped in India. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. They all knew exactly what we were doing and when so they've had early breakfasts ready for us on 2 mornings, they arranged an intercity taxi when our online booking fell through at 7pm the night before, staff came to carry our bags 5 mins before the taxi was due, there is a laundry service. The room has been great with its fabulous balcony, comfortable bed, flasks of hot water for tea and regular fresh towels. The breakfast is fabulous including homemade bread and interesting jams - banana and passion fruit, banana and lemon, a sweet tomato (which tastes like strawberry), peanut butter and chocolate spread, all homemade. There is also daily yoga available.||We've seen elephants and monkeys in the nature reserve to boot!|I've thoroughly enjoyed my time here and highly recommend Chrissie's.

Best breakfast ever!! We stayed just down the road from Chrissie's, but went there especially for breakfast every morning - homemade bread, jams, peanut butter, chocolate spread, fresh Indian breakfast, eggs, fruit, yoghurt, honestly one of the highlights of my trip! The staff are also wonderful, and very welcoming..we used the yoga shala a couple of times too. We had friends that stayed in the hotel and recommended it, but it was fully booked, when we were there otherwise we likely would have stayed there too!

This hotel was fantastic. The owner and managers may have been the most friendly and helpful of any hotel I have ever stayed in. The owner clearly had a passion for the business as well as the nature surrounding the hotel and took time to explain to us the animals you can often see outside (we later saw a giant squirrel in the tree)! ||They booked us a jungle safari, as well as a jungle trek, both of which were absolutely fantastic.||The rooms were of a high quality, the food at the hotel was also excellent. Honestly, I can not recommend this place enough.||We liked it so much that after we went to stay somewhere else, we returned to say hello and have lunch at the hotel before leaving for Kochi.

Excellent communication and customer service from booking through to departure. We travelled as a couple but also saw that solo travellers were very well cared for by every member of staff at Chrissie’s. Home cooked food and lots of wildlife on the doorstep of your room. Well worth a two or more night stay as they can also organise jeep tours at great prices in a stress free way. The rooms may be a little basic for the price but they more than make up for that with the best customer service we have experienced so far in Kerala.

What a great find in Kumily. Adel and his staff were so friendly. The hotel was set back in threes, and you can see birds and monkeys from your balcony. The breakfast was great, with fresh fruit and home-baked bread every morning. I wish we could have stayed longer.

What a welcome from Adel, Anthony and the other staff. They made us feel so at home and even baked a birthday cake for my partner. The rooms were set in a beautiful jungle type environment. The food at the restaurant was high quality and there was a great travellers atmosphere!!!
