"Nassau’s Christ Church Cathedral sits near the site of the first church built in the Bahamas . The original church, built in 1670, was called the Parish of Christ Church, and it was destroyed by the Spanish just 14 years later. After a few iterations, the stone church that stands there today went up in 1841, and it still holds services more than 170 years later. Visitors can explore this historical landmark, located on George Street in downtown Nassau, or even join one of the daily services, prayer sessions, or Holy Communions."

This is an amazing and beautiful church. The architecture is astounding as it was added on to 4 complete times since it was established in 1670 over 300 years ago. The ornate woodwork and exquisite stained glass windows are something to behold and don't get me started on the pews as you just don't see this kind of love and craftsmanship put into anything anymore. Whether you believe in God or not (I for sure do) you should just go see the love and work put into this amazing church. The pastor lady was super gracious and kind taking time from her day to talk to me and have a tiny bit of fellowship while giving me some of the low down on the history of such a beautiful place. Pictures are worth a thousand words so I've included a few. Just astounding what humankind can do with their mind, heart, and hands. I consider myself truly blessed to have seen this place and imagine how many souls have been saved as they still hold services and have since 1670 just so beautiful to ponder.

What a beautiful cathedral. The Christ Church Anglacan Chathedral is beautiful. The stained glass on each of the windows is astonishing. For being an older church, this looks like it's been loved. There is a restoration project under way, but it does not detract from the beauty of this place. The ceiling and organ were exquisite as well. Well worth a look if you are in the area.

Visited on a Sunday from a cruise. Not dressed for church but we were warmly welcomed. Wonderful experience worshipping with our dear Bahamian brothers and sisters!

Very pretty Church. Our ship had 2 stops, Nassau and Free Port. We used this stop for History/Culture (The church, Fort Fin castle, Queens Staircase, And walking around enjoying street performers. We walked everywhere as everything was close) and the other stop for shopping/beach. This was our first destination. We just walked right in and started looking around at all the decorations and figures. Plaques inside give you some history.
