So the others have covered the history, the architecture, and yes, even the parking garage...
What I have to share is the community. We've been calling the cathedral home since January, and it rocks. It's a diverse community - you'll find a fair number of 20 - 30 somethings and young families along with older folks. There's also a large Spanish speaking population, so there are some services in Spanish and some things are done bilingually.
There's also great diversity in the clergy. You'll find a range of ages, backgrounds, and ethnicities within the clergy itself, and they all rotate so you get to hear these differences when they preach. It's inclusive - everyone is welcome here, including LGBT, and the church does more than just preach social justice, they live it, daily.
But that's not to say that fun isn't to be had. The May Fete carnival is a lot of fun (and usually there's a keg of St. Arnold's in the courtyard), and who else would hold a bible study "by the glass" at OKRA on Monday nights. There's also film discussions for all ages and occasional lectures in the evenings. You'll also find one of their priests holding office hours at Minuti Coffee downtown on Thursday mornings.
So come for the history and stay for the people. It's a great church.
