13 Best German Christmas Markets

"A city of holiday variety with more than 60 different markets, ranging from large, tourist-focused hubs to atmospheric Old Berlin-style alleys. Highlights include shopping along Kurfürstendamm and Breitscheidplatz, a Ferris wheel and ice rink at the City Hall market, and many markets that open in November—with some staying open past Christmas into the new year—so visitors can experience a different market almost every day." - Skye Sherman Skye Sherman Skye Sherman is a travel writer based in West Palm Beach, Florida. Fantastic, Inclusive, addition to the traditional Christmas Markets, especially for the LGBTQ+ community. With food, drink and entertainment on offer it's a great accompaniment to festivities with the addition of some 'unusual' gifts for sale, might be perfect for that special someone. Only downside is the size, as it is limited to a smaller area there isn't a huge amount of stalls but a nice place to try some Gluhwein and listen to live performances.

In the heart of Berlin’s queer neighboorhood, Nollendorfplatz, Christmas Avenue offers a vibrant and inclusive Christmas market. This was the second year I’ve been to here and it’s always fun and welcoming. There is a mix of quirky and traditional stalls selling holiday gifts, and delicious Christmas treats such as Glühwein) and sausages. The atmosphere is lively, with live performances, DJs, or drag shows depending on the day you’re visiting.

Super cute, colourful and special Christmas Market with cool new brands. Perfect too find some artsy xmas-presents. I love the sparkling and shiny vibe there. I guess I never saw pink "glüwein" ever before! I really enjoyed it. Also the community is super friendly and the music was awesome.

Easily the coolest market in Berlin! Very LGBTQ and I loved every bit of it!

Another nice Christmas project in Berlin: visited it several times with friends and enjoyed our time there.

We went to the Christmas Avenue on a Sunday and really enjoyed ourself. Entry and covid check went well. The round trip seemed quite short and food was out at most of the food trucks (we went there at 7pm), which was quite unfortunate.

Good selection of mulled drinks but otherwise lacklustre. Very small with hardly any stalls. We went there on a Friday evening and the DJ on stage – which is basically the reason to go here – couldn't have looked more bored.

The show was only for Christmas. It was amazing and people were really good in playing with fire. The weather was very cold You should get a kind of hot win to get warm. The place entry was 3 euros. There was so many win and food shops around that you can buy from them. It is not a good idea to take kids there. Also it's not a place where old people be interested in. I loved the place and enjoyed. The place can entertain you for 3 - 5 hours with your friends.
