Overpriced for small portion sizes. The classic "drench it in butter" technique of fancy restaurants. Not a super inspired menu, but the dungeness gyoza was great. Our entrees (ciopinno and rockfish) were decent, but nothing to write home about. Great service!

Google
We didn't stay, we went to the restaurant. The service was outstanding, the food, not so good. I had stuffed salmon, with beets, and naan. The beets were okay, the salmon was extremel dry. The stuffing was crab and bread and had little to no flavor. The drinks were good and our server was delightful. I cannot remember her name but she was blonde and pregnant. Lovely young lady. She was attentive, efficient, and very fast.

Google
Wow! We stopped here looking for a place to eat on the way back to Seattle at the end of our vacation, what a great decision! The service, the food and the views were fantastic, loved this place, I could imagine it being even better sitting outside on a warm day. Finally a shout out to our server Stephanie who was a credit to your restaurant and provided some great recommendations and was so friendly and personable.

Google
This was such a nice surprise! We were looking for a dog friendly restaurant and Chuckanut Manor was just the place. We got here just in time for happy hour and the food was delicious. We especially loved the grilled fish tacos - by far one of the best items on the menu. If you get a chance to stop by, you can’t go wrong here. It’s got good views, great food, and lovely service.

It's easy to see why this restaurant has not only servived for half a century but is known as a local favorite for seafood. The restaurant has wide windows that provide a beautiful view of the bay and islands and make it a perfect place for a romantic dinner or special occasion. There is also outdoor seating for more casual dining. The chef is wonderful and the food is delicious. The menu has a wide variety so there is something to please everyone and a fairly extensive wine list for the perfect pairing.

Google
I attended a hosted event at Chuckanut Manor, and I am absolutely floored at the excellent service and food! It was a room full of people, the food was very tasty never went empty, the drinks were quick and accurate, and the servers were absolutely on point! I have been here for dinner in the past and have always been pleased, but the level of service today was 100%. Well done, Chuckanut Manor! We will be back soon!!!

Google
We hosted a wedding there. The service was wonderful. The food was great. They made us feel welcomed. One of our family had very serious food allergies. They triple checked the food made super sure they were okay. The view of the water. The landscape. Even the train was part of a wonderful experience. Thank you for making the experience memorable.

Google
The Manor is a cute and delicious surprise. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted and our family sat at a table looking over the bay. Our dinner and drinks were top notch and we left appreciating the service and the food. If you are in this area, go find this gem and enjoy!

Yelp
Wow! What a happy hour! Spectacular view from the deck overlooking the bay. Cocktails were pretty much on point (had to ask them to switch the bourbon in my old fashioned and manhattan...I'm sorry, but Rebel 100 is complete garbage) and the nibbles were tasty and affordable. Standouts: the crab cake sliders (ask for cocktail sauce on the side to punch up the flavor) and the prawn cocktail (excellent quality; so many people miss how satisfying can be when it's done well). The fish tacos were a bit bland, but well presented - almost cost them a star - but they were well cooked and presented, just not to my taste. The oyster shooters were accompanied by too many salty elements (green olives, salty pickles) and needed a bright acid to perk them up. Super fresh though, a cut above most that you'll find locally. Only Oyster Shuckers down the road in Allen does a better bivalve. And that leads me to the service. Sooo pro! Really impressive. Our server, Laurissa, was bloody brilliant; though stretched a bit thin and with demanding customers (not us, of course ) she still took time to make sure we were well taken care of, and even offered us an amazing off-menu bananas foster sundae dessert. Oh. My. Goodness. Just...I mean...ok: toffee crusted fresh caramelized banana topped with rich vanilla and chocolate ice cream, anointed with fudgy sauce and mounded with fluffy whipped cream ARE YOU KIDDING ME..?! GET IN MY BELLY IMMEDIATELY! (Ahem) ah, um, yeah, so: we liked it... Best local happy hour, no contest. Will be back to try tempting offerings on the dinner menu, and see if the same quality is in evidence. A good bit of the value was in Laurissa's service, admittedly, but: high hopes. Recommended Happy Hour nomnoms!

Yelp
Nice spot! Beautiful view inside, though we sat out on the lawn at the picnic bench with our dog. Nice treat after driving down Chuckanut Drive. The halibut was fresh, very good, but wish it had been crispier. So, it's not my favorite I've ever had but certainly no slouch. The ciopinno was pretty good too, though I do wish there was some squid in there. Overall a nice experience you're going to pay for. We had a nice time.

Yelp
Road up a ways is still closed from the rockslide but CM is still open. Yes!! Liked the remodeled exterior and interior it was much needed to give that upscale fine dining vibe. The old sign was pure ugliness despite what one may say about preserving history. Glad that was gone. We came earlier on a weekday and got to catch the HH deal. You don't need to be at the bar to enjoy this. 2-5 weekday and all day Monday. The main menu had awesome offerings but due to my food limitations, I was so glad to find some decent offerings besides salad! Highly recommend the grilled fish tacos with pico and slaw. I got 4 and it made for a filling dinner platter they piled on so much fresh crunchy pico/slaw it was super scrumptious! The fish was grilled to perfection but you can get the fried version too. The HH Bloody Mary shooter for $6 comes with 2 shooters and all the Bloody Mary fixings. The oysters were tiny if there's more oyster it would take it to the next level. The $10 crab cake slider was delish. If you don't want to get the $28 appetizer from the main menu the one slider would do the trick in satisfying your craving. Hubby absolutely enjoyed his oyster Rockefeller! I ended up trying one and was wowed! It was way better than any Rockefeller we have had. You get 4. Umami through and through. Get this! His clam fettuccine was to die for. The chopped clams were infused throughout IN ADDITION to the copious amount on the bottom. Super garlic forward and huge portions! Very yummy! If you love linguine alle vongole, get this! The mocktail lavender lemonade was the perfect balance of sweet and tart. Hubby enjoyed his mocktail margarita but he liked mine even more. Definitely not going to wait so long to hit up this wonderful gem. Worth the long drive for good food, awesome view and ambience. Great place for romantic celebration for sure!

Yelp
What a wonderful experience! This was our second time here for an evening dinner and once again, we couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. First, the ambiance. Talk about "First Class Presentation" as everything from the decorum to the views makes this place one of a kind. Tucked away, you get a breathtaking view (get a window seat during sunset, you won't regret it). The food was delicious. Everything we tried (apps, main and dessert) was delicious. They cocktail menu had a lot to offer and the drinks were well crafted. Our Server was great at pacing the meal and had pretty good recommendations based on preferences on taste. I absolutely will return and recommend that you give it a try. 5/5.

Yelp
Stopped by on our drive from Vancouver to Seattle and had a lovely time. Great place to slow down and take in the views. We ordered the fish special to share and they were kind enough to split it between us two plates for us without us asking. Bonus points for the Basil vinaigrette - so fresh and tasty.

Yelp
On my way up to Bellingham on the scenic route, I happened to stop at the chuckanut manor which has the most beautiful view of the bay. The interior is neat, clean, and minimal. I love the little touches of local art and paintings. I ordered a half portion of the watermelon salad and a cup of clam chowder. The watermelon salad was super refreshing, the sweetness of the watermelon works really well with the dressing and fragrant flavors of the arugula and basil. Clam chowder was nice and thick; creamy and loaded with different things. Service was super sweet. I felt very well taken care of. Was a wonderful surprise, I loved it here.

Yelp
Ordered two appetizers, main course and dessert. Everything was delicious. Down to the cocktails. Service was wonderful, very attentive to our needs. The ambiance was very nice and very clean. I highly recommend

Yelp
This place is such a perfect place to relax with a water view, sip great drinks, and enjoy the fantastic fresh prepared food. Our server was Mellisa and she was so cool. She took all the amazing things and put it together for a perfect time for our family.

Yelp
My honey and I went up to Chuckanut Manor for some lunch. Our server was excellent. Pleasant personality and very attentive. The food was outstanding. Thumbs up to the chef. We did order the crab gyoza with ponzu sauce was not to our liking. We could not tell there was crab in it and the sauce was overwhelming . I had oysters on the half shell with some killer chowder. My honey had the oyster Rockefeller. He liked it so much he had a second order. On the down side my honey had to use the men's room and stated there were no hooks in the stall for his coat. All in all it was a great time.

Yelp
Well, I used Resy to book for 7 adults and 1 toddler for a business celebration dinner. And this was absolutely the right venue. The views were amazing, the food was superb. Service was exceptional and we look forward to future events in a warm welcoming environment.

Yelp
This was our second choice as we wanted to go to Taylor's oyster farm but it was too crowded. The place is mostly for the view to be honest. The food is mediocre. It's on the nicer side so don't expect to be dress in sweats or pj's here :) We got the hangtown fry which came with 4 pieces of fried oysters on top of cheese omelette with hollandaise sauce and bacon. Breakfast potatoes on the side. Each component was good, but it didn't go well together...I rather just eat each on it's own We also got a bowl of clam chowder. It was pretty standard. My husband wish it was thicker but I thought it was fine Service was good. They check on you from time to time Overall, it was just ok, nothing really amazing except for the nice view.

Yelp
I can't wait to return to this coast for another meal at Chuckanut Manor. The Caesar Salad was perfect. The Bloody Mary was perfect. And I'm a fish 'n chips guy. Seriously. I make 'em. I seek 'em out. Their Alaskan Halibut version is just unbeatable. But there was so much more I wanted to try. Every plate I saw spoke to me! And our server, Nicole, was wonderful, and my StepMom is very particular. Friendly, knowledgeable and when I messed up the order she took responsibility. When I figured that out I was doubly impressed. Such a pro! Hard to find that kind of talent these days and I've consulted with more restaurants than I can count. I regret not leaving an add-on tip, even though it was not my tab.

Yelp
Wow want to just wait here and eat my next meal our server was excellent !! Everything was excellent . I had a pure Prosecco martini some type of margaritas Long Island ice tea. I heard they were good. The margarita had a jalapeño and salt and pepper started off with brussels sprouts we had clam chowder one of the best clam chowder I've ever had kind to order a bucket of it to go, my sister-in-law had crabcakes with garlic aïoli. My brother had grilled halibut was excellent. My boyfriend had fettuccine with baby clams really good garlic bread, especially cleaning up the sauce with it and then there was dessert having a smoke so I have to go try the dessert come back here and our server Melissa, unbelievable she was one of the best servers very well informed told me the history of the restaurant gave me a shortcut to go have a cigarette very knowledgeable about the food. I would come back again and sits along the river or the river the ocean. if you're in the area, stop by if you're not definitely make it a destination.

Yelp
Ahhh! Chuckanut Manor did not disappoint! It's been a few years since we have been here, and we LOVED their fish and chips! I was afraid that I had built it up in my mind, and it wasn't going to be as good...but, it was awesome!!! It was a cool, overcast day, with threatening rain, but we ate outside as we had our dog with us. Our waitress was outstanding and never once complained about catering to our needs. You just can't get fish and chips anywhere else that is as good as what we had here! Add that to the view, and you are in for an incredible experience!

Yelp
Our three stars are for the location and view, the service - our server, Melissa, was phenomenal, and the creme brûlée. We were greeted three times when we first arrived by very attentive, friendly staff. We were seated at a lovely window seat and were able to see the water and a couple of trains that came by. Loved that so much. We ordered a small Caesar salad to share to start and are sad to report it wasn't great. It was romaine with some dressing but no real flavor...no anchovies, no croutons, no Parmesan...but I was in the mood for some type of salad so I ate the good looking romaine. We also shared a ($28) crab cake appetizer which was bland (and completely not worth the price - there was one discernible lump piece of crab). There was an aioli which came off as flavorless mayo. Again, neither of those had flavor. I did really like the slaw that came with it. Flavor galore in that. For our main, we shared the linguini and prawns. The overriding flavor is black pepper. It had black pepper, peas, black pepper, asparagus (including some of the inedible woody ends), black pepper and thinly shaved zucchini with black pepper and large prawns (Randy thinks they were boiled and would have been better sautéed) and linguini. The sauce was meh. Pretty thin and peppery - other than that, we couldn't tell what was in it unless we read the menu. Definitely would have benefited if it had some garlic and maybe basil. And if some pepper was subtracted from the dish. Randy added black pepper to his, unaware of the already peppery flavor, so this review of the linguini is mine although he didn't enjoy his either. We decided to get the chocolate creme brûlée - Ohmygosh the flavor. So chocolaty - Randy said it was very cocoa forward - and we both loved it. Randy ordered the cinnamon roll bread pudding and said it was only ok (he's a bread pudding connoisseur lol). We won't go back but if you decide to go, ask for Melissa. She's really on top of everything she was responsible for tonight - making drinks for all tables (it seemed she was the only one making the drinks) as well as serving several tables. She split our salad and the main for us when we mentioned we were sharing it and she kept me in lemons for my water all night. We had three different water refills throughout our meal and she kept in touch with us throughout our visit. She really is a gem.

Yelp
Wow, what a lovely experience! My fiancé and I randomly popped into Chuckanut Manor on our way to our AirBnB, and we were truly impressed by the gorgeous views, delicious meal and fabulous service! Our server, Melissa, was an absolute gem! We ordered the bread and herb butter, Caesar salad, ciopino and fish and chips... everything was fantastic! We will be happy to return in the future when we come back to the area!

Yelp
Had an excellent dinner with perfect service and great company at Chuckanut Manor. When I first saw the menu at the restaurant, I was surprised to find an almost equal balance of steak and seafood options. For the first time in 15 years, I considered ordering Rockfish--despite a terrible experience at a restaurant on the East Coast. I was hesitant, but our server, Drew (who was excellent!), assured me: "Please order it. If you don't like it after the first bite, I'll be happy to exchange it. And if you don't finish, I'll gladly take the leftovers." That sold me, and I'm glad it did--the Rockfish was fantastic! We also ordered raw oysters, steaks, and more seafood, and no one was disappointed. Everything was delicious. And a special shoutout to Drew; his service truly made the evening even better!

Yelp
***Update 10/17/23*** I hadn't been back here since before the pandemic, but this is one of my kid's favorite restaurants, so we decided to venture here for dinner. I was worried that the place wouldn't be as wonderful as we remembered it being. (There's nothing worse than re-visiting a favorite place after a few years, only for it to have lost its charm, or have changed for the worse. That happens so often). Luckily, it turned out my fears were totally unfounded. Chuckanut Manor not only is as fabulous as I remembered - it was even BETTER. How, you might ask? Well, the food is as amazing as I remembered, but now the restaurant interior is, too. It has been totally remodeled and revamped. (Before, it was quite dated, with a 60-s-70's-esque decor. I remember a green carpet, old-fashioned tables, and a VERY tiny and old bathroom). NOW the interior is open, with more modern seating (tables, and integrated booths along the wall. Clean grey carpeting, unobstructed window views over the water and Samish Bay, lots of light, and a private dining room for a large party, with a gorgeous mural on the far wall, depicting local landscapes. Oh, and the entryway is more open, too, with a coat closet, even. And the women' bathroom now is fantastic! Large, clean, with modern fixtures). Such a huge difference in the actual space. And the view! Spectacular as I remember. Like a postcard. SO special. Food-wise, it was excellent. We were there on Monday, as the restaurant has "all day happy hour on Mondays". We ordered a bunch of plates: Bloody Mary shooters with an oyster in each and a skewer of vegetables on top, grilled fish taco and a prawn cocktail. All were good, but the grilled fish taco was AMAZING. Best happy hour dish there, for sure. My kid ordered a few plates that were not on the happy hour menu: a cup of clam chowder (as wonderful as she remembered it), and 6 oysters on the half-shell. These were so fresh and delicious (I had a few!). They brought us fresh, warm bread with whipped butter (SO good), and we shared an "Autumn Margarita" that was made from tequila, spiced pear liquor and other magical elixirs. SO good. Our server was super nice and attentive, and we watched the sunset over the water. It truly was a fabulous night, and my kid and I have already decided what we'll be ordering the next time we visit - which will be SOON!

Yelp
Had been here for dinner maybe 10 years ago with former owner. Wife and I were coming home up I5 right before sunset and we decided to come up Chuckanut. She'd never been to the Manor. Newer owner has created a lovely space! It was busy, but we found a spot right out front, walked in and were immediately sat at a window table with ten minutes to spare before sunset! We were quickly welcomed and greeted by our server Natasha. She was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and welcoming. We ordered drinks which came out promptly. We the ordered 6 oysters and the Brussel Sprouts and they came out fast! As "foodies", we love to try new places and dishes. Brussels are a fave of ours and these were done really well. Oysters were fresh and tasty. They happened to have a BOGO Feb special. My wife ordered the Steak with Fries and I had the ravioli. The main entree dishes came out fast, hot and best of all delicious! Thanks Natasha and CM, you helped us make a great night! We'll be back!

Yelp
Can we talk about the view for a moment? Stunning . Even when it's a foggy and chilly, the water is absolutely beautiful. While the space is a bit dated you can tell what the draw is. We ordered the special, a crab omelette with spinach and avocado with hollandaise. And a crab cake Benedict. Omelette was might and lovely, the crab could have been a bit fresher, but it was flavorful. The Benedict was delicious with a perfectly cooked egg. Our server was patient as I was having a moment of paralizing indecisiveness. He laughed with me as I pondered, and changed my mind a dozen times. For the record, all of my decisions were just right.

Steve R.

Yelp
Crab cakes, prawns and fish tacos for happy hour was outstanding. What was not outstanding was my $15 old fashioned that was made with orange juice. Totally undrinkable. Other than that, servers were nice, great atmosphere and overall good value.

Pegah O.

Yelp
View is amazing, staff are super friendly and respectful. But man , the smell was horrible. I couldn't stand the smell so we decided to leave. We couldn't even eat anything. So this review is just for ambiance and not the food. If management could do something about smell, this place definitely worth trying out.

Yelp
Great dinner this past Tuesday evening with my adult niece who was visiting from Colorado. This was after visiting the last day of the tulip festival. Our meals were delicious, starting out with oysters as shown in the photograph. We had 6:30 reservations, but there was less traffic so we arrived before 6 o'clock pm and were seated promptly. Hostess was pleasant; server was quick, friendly, and informative. My niece's older sister and I visited here when she came to see the tulip festival eight years ago. New tradition established.

Yelp
Chuckanut Manor Seafood & Grill is a lovely restaurant on Chuckanut Drive outside of Bellingham, WA. The decor is bright and airy with beautiful fresh flowers throughout. There are large bay windows overlooking the water, and patio seating to enjoy your meal outside. There is a good variety of items on the menu, focusing primarily on seafood, and our waitress and the hostess were very friendly and accommodating. If you're in the area, definitely give Chuckanut Manorr Seafood & Grill a try.

Yelp
We have been coming here for the past 5 years. The thing that stands out the most is consistency of quality of food, and service. And not to mention such a lovely location with breathtaking views of Samish Bay. When the weather is conducive it's so pleasant to sit outside and look out over the water. Our servers are top notch. Very attentive, friendly, and caring. We love Hallie, and Drew is a real gentleman. While my mother-in-law was alive and we would take her here, he would get down on his knee to chat with her and hold her hand. It made her day, and then some! The food, well it is stellar and delicious consistently. We cannot say enough about Chuckanut Manor. And the summer cocktail of choice is their Pear Martini. Wow. Perfection. Thank you, thank you, thank you Chuckanut Manor for never disappointing. Even through the tough COVID period you rocked it! Chris & Chris

Yelp
Beautiful view; gorgeous deck. Food was so good. Staff was great. Price was high but it was such an amazing experience worth every dollar.

Lisa M.

Yelp
The dinner menu is better than the lunch but the service ambiance and overall experience at this restaurant is excellent. The food was good for lunch but I enjoyed my dinner at Chuckanut better.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant by the sea. The dining area is spot clean. First time here with my friend. I thought this was the oyster house but more like seafood restaurant. Not on the menu, but I had some raw oysters of 3 kinds. Each of them were really creamy and fresh. Can't remember the names.. but this definitely makes the best appetizer to go with some cocktails. I also ordered the steak bites with hummus which was delicious. The steak bites were pretty dry though. Fried pita bread slices as dippers were really good, never had in my life. Great idea! My friend had the halibut dish. Huge halibut piece with mustard cream sauce along with tortellini. The fish was fresh but the sauce was ok. This would be a good dating spot during sunset time. They do have happy hour til 5pm 25% off appetizers and $1 off drinks.

Yelp
Having been on my places go go list I was very excited to learn Chuckanut Manor Seafood has reopened. Everything from the welcoming atmosphere, attentive service, and food were all beyond excellent. Our server Margarito yielded superb service. I made reservations two days prior, if you're wanting a window table I definitely recommend calling ahead. I'm looking forward to returning, and highly recommend!

Yelp
We stayed in Bow for the weekend and dined at Chuckanut Manor to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and we had a lovely time! For drinks, we ordered an old fashioned and the key lime martini. The key lime martini was delicious, however, definitely on the heavier and sweeter side due to the cream in the drink. I would've liked to have this for dessert! For appetizers, we ordered the bread with garlic butter and a bowl of clam chowder. The bread and butter were good but nothing special and I wouldn't feel the need to spend $5 and order this again. We really enjoyed the clam chowder, however, it could have used some more salt. For our entrees, we ordered the sirloin steak and scallops and the sirloin steak frites. We both liked our dishes! The fries on the steak frites were some of the best I've had. I do wish that the steak was separate from the fries because the sauce made some of them soggy (but that's just a personal preference!). The steak was okay, definitely not the greatest I've had but not terrible. The service was wonderful! It was a little slow at first, but our server was the sweetest. Even though we said we were too full for dessert, he brought out an ice cream sampler for my boyfriend's birthday AND even let us choose a dessert off the menu for us to take home. So so generous!! You really can't beat the ambiance at this restaurant! The view is breathtaking, especially at sunset. This place is the perfect spot to celebrate a special occasion or even to just enjoy a meal with loved ones. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Celebrated a big birthday and our meal could not have been better. From the delicious and refreshing sparkling pear martini to the perfectly cooked steaks and scallops and arugula crusted halibut to the indulgent shared desserts, everything was perfect. We lucked out with a beautiful evening to enjoy the beautiful view from our window seats. Our waiter was very friendly and accommodating. Chuckanut Manor is a very special place. Highly recommend it for your next special occasion. Even if it's not a special occasion, your experience there will make it so.

John L.

Yelp
My wife and I stopped by on Thursday, August 28th, which was while they had the cod fish and chips on sale for $17. Very tasty. My wife only had one fish taco, but I shared my fish and chips with her. She had a martini and I had a pilsner beer. I have been going here for more than 20 years. This place is historic with a superb location. The staff is always very friendly and professional. Great views from nearly every table. If you have never been to Chuckanut Manor, I highly recommend it. You will be pleasantly delighted.

Mindy S.

Yelp
Absolutely phenomenal. Food, atmosphere and staff are off the charts exceptional. Been going for many years

Yelp
Great view, great service, great food. What more could you want? We had cioppino, a salad, oysters, a steak, the works! It was wonderful - the three of us shared a bottle of wine, and had a delicious berry crumble dessert. There's not much to say other than the food is FANTASTIC and you can't go wrong with anything you order. The setting is stunning, especially at sunset. We went in winter, but the summer tends to be a lot busier. Despite this, you never feel like you're being rushed or that people are not paying attention to you. It's a truly good experience. There's also a parking lot which means you don't have to fight for Chuckanut Drive parking like you do at some of the other places on the drive. It's not going to break the bank ($175 with tip for the 3 of us), but don't be surprised to go over 3 digits. It's one of the nicest places in town and great for a date or party. Seriously, I'd have my wedding reception here if I were getting married. I can't wait to go back soon!

Kristen C.

Yelp
My fiancé and I are visiting the northwest to see his family. We haven't had a date night in weeks and when I googled restaurants in bow near his family's home I came across the Chuckanut manor. I decided why not. Wonderful location, cute and filled with a cozy county ambience. I rarely write reviews but the service in this small town restaurant honestly blew me away. Leland was the most wonderful server. From the moment we were seated, he greeted us with a warm smile and genuine enthusiasm that set a positive tone for the evening. His extensive knowledge of the menu and recommendations were spot on, showcasing not only their expertise but also a keen understanding of customer preferences. Throughout the meal, the service was impeccable. Leland was attentive without being intrusive, ensuring our drinks were always full and checking in at just the right moments. He handled our special requests with grace and efficiency, making us feel valued and appreciated. We ended our night with a stunning view of a pnw sunset and a wonderful experience that was completely unexpected. Thank you Leland and chuckanut manor.

Yelp
I have always loved Chuckanut Manor, even before they remodeled. I was there last Monday and enjoy the view and cocktails, but I was disappointed by the $28 "crab" cake. It was more a salmon cake. Did not taste crab, crab is not pink, and it tasted like a salmon cake. The menu does not mention salmon being in the crab cake, only aoili and citrus. I pointed it out to the waitress, but she said it was a crab cake. I told her I grew up locally (live across the bay on Guemes Island) and I knew the difference between salmon and crab. My two companions tasted it as well, and agreed it was more salmon than anything. She was pretty rude about it, and it stayed on my bill. I called the restaurant last week to talk to someone about it, but they never called me back. Plus, my steak, ordered to be medium rare, was more medium.

Yelp
Chuckanut Manor is a lovely restaurant with a beautiful view, it's definitely got that going for it! Service is good, staff is friendly and nicely attentive. That being said, the food is relatively mediocre for the exorbitant prices! We had a reservation and our party of four was sat immediately. We waited quite some time for our server and she apologized for the delay, which was nice. The rest of the evening service was much better! The menu is small and a little weird for being a seafood restaurant so ordering was a bit difficult! We're huge seafood lovers so were disappointed with the very small selection. The prices definitely weren't small though!! Unfortunately, what we ended up ordering was all just mediocre at best. Nothing was amazing or memorable, it was good but we expected great! The desserts and cocktails were the best part of the meal! It was a good experience and we enjoyed our meal and evening but there are so many truly amazing restaurants in the area they need to step up their game!

Yelp
I have been coming to this place for so damn long that I don't remember how I was introduced to it. When I lived up in the Seattle area, I used to come here for special occasions. I even came up and stayed in the B&B upstairs, but I'm unsure if that's still an option. Now that I live out of state, the times I do get up here, I take friends and family here every few years. Amazing views, amazing service, amazing food. And despite changes in staff, ownership, etc. that seemed to have never changed. I recommend literally anything on the menu. But I urge you to consider sitting outside during a sunset. Because that is one special experience. Just be warned, come once and you'll never be the same. You'll want to frequent this hidden gem stuck in the mountainside with a gorgeous view of the bay.

Yelp
We stayed at the flat guest house for the last several days and we can't enough about how magical this place is. The staff took such good care of us, especially Mel and Sherri who were top notched professionals. We work all the time at home and although everything was wonderful, sitting on the patio and staring while eating a crab cake slider and having a cold beer has changed my whole outlook on life. Thank you again for the amazing experience. We will never forget that trip.

Yelp
Excellent food, lovely sunset. Mussels, oysters and Brussels sprouts for appetizers were delicious. Party had delicious steaks, cioppino, salmon; mashed potatoes and veggies were plentiful, and so good! Very pleased with food quality. On the negative side, blonde apple brownie dough was raw; our server was nice but bogged down with too many tables. Mussels only had 2 tiny pieces of bread for party of 6. In spite of those things. We will definitely return.

Yelp
What a great place, stopped for happy hour after hiking Oyster Dome. Sat outside with my dog. Amazing service and food! The host brought a doggy water dish, she was so sweet, made sure my dog was comfy and not in the car! The server was also awesome, attentive, suggested a great cocktail for me and refilled the doggy water bowl with ice water! The food was delicious! Ambience was great. Perfect way to end my hike. Thank you hospitality staff! Cheers to you! We'll be back soon!

Yelp
The view is great. Service is great. The food is over priced and quite simply terrible. The clam chowder tasted like a richly buttered creamy mashed potatoes with a tiny few clam pieces. The baked oysters were overly cooked and chewy. The over-cooked cheese in the shell didn't do anything good except take away from the oyster itself. The white bread and butter (for $5) came out cold and crumbled profusely to the touch. Everything is richly flavored. But it's savoring for the first couple of bites only.

Yelp
I have a nostalgic fondness for Chuckanut Manor, from it being a special occasion destination for our family that seemed really fancy to me as a youngster. It's still one of my most favorite restaurants. Service and food is consistently fantastic. The views of the water and San Juan islands in the distance are a big draw too. The patio is lovely on a warm enough day. If you're lucky, a train will pass by and the train track is right there! The ambiance always feels like a special occasion.

Yelp
We were sat in front of the window at 4pm and blinded by the sun. We were moved twice and finally settled for a booth where only my Husband suffered the glare of the sun. The table wasn't particularly clean, the laminate had chipped on the table top and the paper menus were old, worn and dirty, something befitting a gas station burger joint and not an overpriced restaurant by the bay. Here is what we ordered: -parmesan fries from the Happy Hour menu. They were a decent portion but the parmesan was pre-shredded which meant they didn't melt and tasted like eraser bits. -corned beef slider from the Happy Hour menu. My Husband said the meat tasted like something that came out of a tin can, nothing special, small size. -fried oysters that were very greasy and soggy, not worth $17 for five. -sirloin with two scallops, roasted veg and small dollop of mashed potatoes, not worth $55. The sirloin was a small thick medallion, smaller than my balled up fist. For this type of tough lean cut of meat, it should have been served thinner not as a chunk of tough protein. It was not seasoned well. The vegetables were swimming in oil. The two scallops were small, again nothing special. -sirloin steak with fries, blue cheese, rosemary demi and scallions for $36. I am not sure who thought the combination was a culinary success. Again the sirloin was a thick medallion, making the meat a tough chew even cooked at medium doneness. I took one bite and was immediately nauseated by the blue cheese and salt laddened demi glace that tasted like it came out of a package. The scallions looked dried and shriveled, signs that they were not fresh. I nibbled at a couple of fries and put on a brave face but even the waitress immediately picked up from the look on my face that I didn't enjoy the meal. She asked if I preferred something else and took away the dish. Unfortunately I was already put off after that and passed on another entree. -Choclate creme Brule for $14. I may be wrong but I think even the waitress felt embarrassed by what she brought out. The dessert was served in a small ramekin, something a home-cook would use, topped with burnt sugar and three overripe raspberries. The creme tasted greasy and artificial, did not taste of eg yolks or real dairy, it was not a genuine chocolate taste. Completely uninspiring and not worth the calories or $14. -coffee for $3.50, freshly brewed but nothing special. Overall, even with the sirloin steak frites taken off the bill, it was $101 before tax and tips. This was not the first time we have eaten at the restaurant. In fact we have tried this place at least four times during different seasons and hours of the day. Generally the service and ambience are okay, but ultimately given that it is a restaurant that charges top dollars, it is woefully poor in food quality. The menu is limited, the specials for the day have no association with the theme of the restaurant or the rest of the menu. The special of the night included brown glazed cod, deconstructed fajitas with rib eye steak and hard taco shell for $70 or tamales. I am not sure how any of it relates other than maybe the chef is trying to clear out the freezer so anything goes. I think Chef Joey needs to refocus, retrain or hire better cooks. Better yet, they need a new head chef or restaurant operator. We have done our best to patronize this establishment since 2018 but will never go back again. The food is just not good and made worse by the exorbitant price. My Husband said that if he were to write a review, it would in fact be short and succinct. It would just read, "pure shite".

Yelp
I can only speak for their happy hour, but it was amazing! So reasonably priced, delicious drinks and a good variety of awesome small plates. I went with a girlfriend for her birthday today. The patio is beautiful to sit out on in the sun, and shout out to our server Robel who was super great! Will be back for sure!

Yelp
Great place to get brunch, lunch or dinner. They have great outdoor seating that overlooks the entire bay and if you're lucky, you'll even see a train pass by on the tracks close to the outdoor seating area. Overall the ambiance is just perfect. The food was great. We got Halibut and Chips and the Cioppino (seafood stew). The fish was so flaky and cooked to perfection. The fries that came with it were perfectly seasoned. The best fish and chips I've had so far! The Cioppino had an extremely delicious broth and an abundance of seafood items including oysters, shrimp and fish. The pictures don't do any justice to the quality of the food. Highly recommend this place.

Yelp
Great dining experience in the area, especially in these uncertain times. Stumbled upon here for a late lunch / early dinner with my family of 4 - we kept getting turned away from other restaurants along the road due to not having prior reservations. It was understandable given COVID and that it was Saturday. By the third time, I decided to call Chuckanut Manor Seafood & Grill and was able to secure a 4:30 pm reservation the same day, and we were only 20 minutes away. LOGISTICS Unlike a certain restaurant up the road... this place has ample parking available and the same gorgeous views. In fact you can even enjoy the waterfront views from the parking lot, which we did after our meal to enjoy the sunset. The property is quite lovely and I imagine in the summer it must have great outdoor seating. They seem to have plenty of room for tables as well, but they were taking appropriate COVID precautions with masks, spacing, etc. The dining area has plenty of windows to enjoy the view, but if you want to sit right next to the window you'll likely need a reservation. Since we called in last minute for a reservation, we were seated right next to the window for unobstructed views. But other parties would come in, asking to be seated by the window like us, only to be told those tables were "reserved". I'm also not sure how well it's advertised, but they do offer Happy Hour pricing for their appetizers (can't recall if they had drink specials) everyday from 3-5 pm. We were able to take advantage of this! SERVICE Despite coming in with a last minute reservation, the staff were friendly in seating us a few minutes early. The server even informed us we could order off the Happy Hour menu until 5 pm, which was a nice surprise on a Saturday! He would even check in on us right before 5 pm to see if we wanted to order more food. The food came out pretty quickly but we were also dining before the dinner rush. No issues in getting our waters refilled or getting the check, which is becoming a problem due to the industry wide shortage of workers for restaurants. FOOD Our family ordered a few rounds of appetizers and dishes to try out as family. The appetizers alone were enough to make a meal for our hungry family of four (we had been hiking in the area). Shigoku Oysters (Raw, half shell): I thought it a bit odd their menu online and in house did not explicitly state that they served raw oysters, but I was glad I asked, especially given the area, The oysters were shucked well, no shell, and they tasted sweet and briny. They're on the smaller side, but very flavorful. I preferred them with a little bit of horse radish and some of the mignonette sauce or lemon; not a huge fan of cocktail sauce on my oysters. Salmon Special of the Night: Salmon dishes are a dime a dozen in Seattle, but the sauce and sides set this one apart. The salmon was cooked and seasoned well with a miso sauce and sesame crust. It came with some honey glazed butternut squash that paired well with the miso sauce. Mashed potatoes were good, creamy with a lot of garlic flavor. A good salmon dish overall! Crispy Brussels Sprouts: They match the description - they are indeed crispy, not the horrible mushy, baked variant you see places pass off as "crispy". They were tossed in some sweet vinaigrette and had this sorta nutty sauce on the side. I really enjoyed the char on them and the raisins made for a nice sweet accent. Recommend getting these if you like your sprouts! Steamed Clams: I'm not big on clams (I prefer mussels)... but these were really good! The lemongrass broth was an amazing pairing with the clams and longanisa sausage; very flavorful and fragrant. Clams weren't overcooked and dry, nor did they have that grittiness you sometimes get. The arugula on top, despite being more for decor, went well with the clams as well. I do recommend ordering fries on the side so you can utilize the broth more. It's a shame they don't provide bread for it. Truffle Fries: If you like crispy fries, especially with your shellfish, these hit the point! The truffle flavor wasn't overpowering (assuming it was there at all) but the fries themselves were just right in terms of crispiness.I actually liked dipping them in the lemongrass broth of my steamed clams. Pan Fried Oysters: As far as pan fried oysters go... these are OK. Personally I think the raw oysters taste better, as cooking them dries them out and the breading takes away from the oyster itself. Still it was decent with tarter sauce. I also had a seasonal cocktail called "The Apple Pie" cocktail. Good cocktail, strong but flavorful. I do appreciate the apple aspect of it since it was refreshing. OVERALL Good food in a beautiful location. We really enjoyed taking in the expansive views of Samish Bay and after dinner we stayed in the parking lot to watch the sunset. Price wise... it's expensive, but that's expected given the area and ambiance. Take advantage of those HH specials, you can make a meal.
