Chulia Heritage Hotel

Security is tight & we feel safe to park our car in front of the hotel. The receptionists were friendly and helpful in giving us tips of places to eat. The security guard is friendly too. We felt welcome. Only lacking is a small fridge in the room.

Excellent Stay in the Heart of George Town! I had a wonderful experience at Chulia Heritage Hotel. The location is absolutely perfect — right in the middle of George Town, walking distance to delicious street food, famous murals, and all the must-see heritage sites. It’s a great base for exploring Penang. The building itself is charming and full of character, blending colonial architecture with modern comfort. My room was clean, cozy, and well-maintained. I especially appreciated the powerful air-conditioning, hot shower, and complimentary drinking water. The staff were friendly, helpful, and always smiling. Check-in was fast, and they even gave great tips on nearby attractions. I also liked that there was free parking available — very convenient if you’re driving. For the price, this hotel is a gem. It’s simple but has everything you need for a comfortable stay. I would definitely come back again and recommend it to anyone looking for a budget-friendly yet stylish place to stay in Penang!

The hotel was recently refurbished. Room is very clean, Air conditioning works well and the shower pressure is excellent for a good bath. Don't forget your tooth paste tooth brush Strategic location to local food and street arts. Highly recommended. Will stay there again for my next visit.

We checked in for only 1 night on 9th August, 2025 recently after a long drive from Kota Bahru, Kelantan. The hotel is centrally located in a UNESCO site for anyone seeking the rich history and culture. Our room is super clean and all facilities are of good quality and well maintained. Front office staff, Natasha is very friendly and informative as well as Intan providing personlised services. We felt very much at home as the room is huge, bright, well lit and beddings is of good quality. Parking was properly reserved for our car. Above all, the hotel is stylish, well maintained and the historical and heritage value remains as it is. We have made another reservation foe repeat stay middle of next month. Thumbs up!

This quaint heritage hotel is definitely worth a stay. The room charges were very affordable and the location was superb - close proximity to places like Chowrasta Market, Komtar, Armenian Street and much more. The staff were very friendly and were able to address our queries well and give us good recommendations. I had selected the deluxe rooms and they met our requirements adequately. I will definitely consider this hotel for my subsequent visits.

Although room quite small but provided with most of useful equipment. Aircon function well just needs some time to “warmup”. Room is very tidy and clean. Staffs are helpful and friendly! Located in Georgetown and super convenient to go those travel spot. It’s quite at night having good sleep over the stays 👍🏻The only thing is there’s no water dispenser for drinking water refill but they will provide 2bottles of mineral water for free which still acceptable.

We were allowed to check in early. The receptionist is friendly & accommodating, The place is quiet and along main street ( Chulia St) accessible to explore Georgetown. The room was cool and clean (all white)

The reception staff is good, good advice, convenient location with restaurants around. The room is quite small but cleaned well and tidy. Towels are changed every day. The hotel has white walls, looks clean, but the room is not soundproof. There are not many tourist attractions nearby, such as Entopia and Penang Hill. You can take a bus to get there.
