I needed a table for one on a busy Sunday afternoon. I was greeted just inside the door and sat immediately at a table with a view. The atmosphere was quiet and gave the farm to table vibe. The ingredients are sourced directly from their family's organic farm. Everything was so fresh and vibrant. I had the alpaca skewers and they were delicious. The free appetizer was a nice touch. I ordered 2 apps and had plenty to bring home for dinner later.

An unforgettable Christmas dinner at CHUNCHO. The food was absolutely outstanding. We had the locro, rich, comforting, and deeply flavorful, followed by perfectly cooked chicken served with incredible sides: stuffed peppers and quinoa fritters that were crisp, light, and full of character. Every dish felt thoughtful, authentic, and beautifully executed. A special mention goes to Lucero, our waitress, whose warmth, attentiveness, and genuine kindness truly elevated the experience. She made our Christmas night feel personal, welcoming, and memorable from beginning to end. Highly recommended. If you are in Ollantaytambo, this place is a must.

This place is sugar and spice and everything nice… The ultimate authentic Peruvian food experience … and its locally sourced, sustainable, plastic-free style… is truly the cherry on top. We ordered the tasting menu (99 sol per person ) but requested to exclude alpaca and cuy meat, which they kindly accommodated with chicken and lamb instead, along with fresh local fruit juices. The portions were so generous that we packed the rest and had it for dinner. Loved every bite! Special thanks to our warm hostess, Yoselyn.

This restaurant features stylish decor and a relaxed atmosphere. The restroom is spacious and clean. The staff can speak some English. We ordered grilled lamb, grilled alpaca, and grilled fish. The lamb had a stronger gamey flavor, but my friend who enjoys lamb said it was acceptable. The grilled alpaca was quite delicious, better than what we had in Cusco, with a milky richness to the meat. The grilled fish was served whole, bones and all, but still above average in quality. All grilled red meat dishes come with two side dishes. While the sides weren't regional specialties, their presentation and flavor were excellent—we were pleasantly surprised by the thought put into the accompaniments.

Don’t sleep on Chuncho. This might have been my favorite restaurant in Peru, and we ate at some amazing, highly revered places. Creative, surprising and delicious. Cocktails were incredible too. Our favs were the duck and trout.

We came here after a little nap. Traveling from NYC - Bogota - Cusco - Ollantaytambo took a toll on me so I arrived at the restaurant not feeling well. We ordered the coca tea to start and they brought a little appetizer of the local grown corns and grains that came with a green sauce and a hot sauce. I also adored the tiny grater for the salt. I ordered from the asadas menu and got the hongos ostra (oyster mushrooms) and the torrejas (delicious fritter with grains) and rocoto relleno (stuffed veggie rocoto pepper breaded with the same grains as the fritters) as sides. He got the trucha con sarza de trigo. He said the trout was the best dish he had on the trip and we both loved the little side salad with the vinaigrette. Pro tip: the fritters were also delicious when we ate them cold for breakfast because I had leftovers. After dinner, we felt better and we ended up staying and relaxing with a matacuy sour and then got another round before leaving because they were so good. The matacuy has a lovely citrus and fennel combination. We also ordered the Wari on another visit and appreciated it as well! All of this (tea, meal, and two cocktails) cost $30 and was one of the best meals of our trip. Please disregard the rude review from the guy a few people below. He clearly doesn’t consider his privilege when visiting other countries and complaining about the cost of the food when something like this back in the US or Europe would cost over 100.

Great restaurant in Ollantaytambo, focusing on fresh ingredients, farm to table. They provide a great variety of unique local dishes. Most of the things were cooked and seasoned very well. The chicken was dry and underseasoned. Staff was nice, service was a bit slow but hey mentioned it upfront.
