Extremely Disappointed on My Birthday
I’ve been a regular customer at ChungChun, frequently enjoying their hot dogs and supporting their business. Today, on my birthday, I visited hoping to receive the birthday treat they usually offer. I understand there’s a process involved, but it’s not clearly stated anywhere in the policy, and I approached the staff politely to inquire.
Unfortunately, I was met with unexpected rudeness from the owner, Veronica. Instead of offering any empathy or explanation, she dismissed the conversation and bluntly said, “I don’t care if you leave a review, I’m the owner.” We even offered to show proof of our past purchases through our credit card history and the app—but she simply refused.
To be clear, this isn’t about an $8 hot dog. It’s about basic customer service and kindness. I work in customer service myself, and I’ve seen countless businesses make exceptions or go the extra mile to show appreciation to loyal customers. This experience today showed a complete lack of that spirit.
Sadly, what could’ve been a small gesture to make a customer feel special on their birthday turned into a disappointing and unpleasant encounter. I hope the management reconsiders how they treat their customers in the future.
