Chungchun Rice Hot Dog

Canada, You Win This Round 🇨🇦✨ Currently traveling for work, tired, hungry, and emotionally dependent on good food- and these Korean corn dogs just changed my entire mood. One’s covered in tiny crispy potato cubes, the other in ramen noodles- and both are straight-up genius. Crispy on the outside, soft and chewy inside, and the sauces? Life-changing. I don’t even know what half of them were, but I’d legally marry the orange one. It’s such a fun, unique idea- I felt like I was eating street food and therapy at the same time. Worth every crumb I dropped on the hotel bed. Whoever invented this deserves a national holiday.

This place was so delicious that I accidentally took a bite before I took the photo. The batter was really nice and crunchy but it did not break apart. I had the whole mozzarella hot dog and it did not disappoint. The consistency of the cheese was perfect. It wasn’t too liquid and also wasn’t too firm. Overall, I really would recommend this place for a quick lunch if you’re in centrum. I will be back!!!

The original (all beef) is the best. I got the jumbo (chicken and beef) with sweet potato topping and ketchup & sugar. About $10. They have an allergen menu displayed on wall near cash (not directly on menu though unfortunately). Their hot dog batter are dairy and egg free but contain gluten. I recommend sugar and ketchup toppings. This is better than the street dogs I had in Seoul. Wait times can be long at times.

First time trying Korean hot dogs and wow they were so good. We ordered the cheese ones with spicy mayo sauce and they were so delicious. They're pretty big so we didn't end up eating the fries which were average. It's very clean in there and service is excellent. The iced coffee was surprisingly good too ! Definitely going back.

Didnt expect it to be this good! We got the original and the half mozerella dogs. The dough is super tasty- perfectly crispy but not greasy. The texture was also 👌, chewy and slightly sweet. The hot dog itself was juicy! There are a wide range of sauces as well. No seating, but there is a stand up counter to eat at. Will return to try the other flavors!

In short ... I was pleasantly surprised !!! They use rice-based batter instead of flour-based, and each order is made on the spot, which ensures softeness and freshness in every bite. We tried the half mozzarella with beef dog, and added potatoes to it, as well as a double cheese with beef dog, and the third one was a whole mozzarella. The toppings we chose were spicy mayo, honey mustard and hot sauce. All three combinations were delicious. I gave it five stars for food, because every dog tasted amazing. That being said, we didn't try every combination. The service was friendly and relatively fast. As for atmosphere, there isn't much of an atmosphere really (it's a very small space), but I gave it five stars because the interior looked very South Korean, so it feels as if you get transported there.

Im so glad I tried this place! High quality juicy hot dog with crispy and flavourful batter that is made fresh. They use dairy free batter and they post their allergens (see photo). I chose ketchup and sugar toppings for my rice dog. I tried the sausage rice cake version which is stacks of interchanging hot dog and rice cake. I also tried the original rice dog. Personally, I prefer the original over the rice cake version. I like that the sticks aren’t pointy and they label the types of rice dogs using coloured skewers. I will come back to try the potato rice dog and ramyun rice dogs as well as their fried chicken and maybe pineapple ade. Friendly and helpful staff.

Went there with my mother after my dentist appointment. Wanted to check it out for a year now, and when we got in, it was pretty cold inside, even for the weather outside. My mom had complained about the smell of the oil in the store when she entered. She left to wait in the car because she really didn't like the smell. HOWEVER! I understand that the smell of oil frying is hard to get rid of and it even stays stuck to clothes and all. Even if you spray some air freshener, it will overwhelm it eventually and may even make the store smell worse. We got the classic Chungchun rice dog, and it took a little while [around 15 minutes (?)]. Maybe because of the drink order from the customers before me, but when I was served, the employees were pretty chill and nice. The employee helped me nicely and offered some sauces. I asked him what was most popular and stuff. He was really helpful and great as an employee. For the food, I was a bit sad of the size of the rice dog. it was the size of my hand, up to my knuckles. But when we took a bite out of the rice dog, it was really tasty. My mom preferred it with the chipotle sauce. I tried a bite with ketchup, and thought it was fine. Overall, we had a pretty good experience ⛄️👍
