Built around the mid-14th century (1340) under the patronage of Fieschi noble Genoese family, the church was restored in 1870, gaining its current neo-Gothic facade (typical to 1800 architecture). The 'rosone' (the circular, rose-like window above entrance), black-and-white stripped pillars, and the 3-naves basilica structure are similar to those in Chiesa San Giovanni Battista in Monterosso and typical to 13-14th century Genoan style. Inside, there are several Renaissance religious masterpieces. It's beautiful by its elegance and serenity.
