Church Of The Assumption

I was here for the 12pm mass today - fabulous! I wanted one last chance to take in the incredible Nativity scene and Christmas decorations you have. Absolutely beautiful to whoever decorated this year. I'm getting tears and goosebumps just thinking about the care and the amount of time that went into the decorating. Thanks again this year!

Such a beautiful church! I just shot a wedding here and it was so beautiful inside and out!

Beautiful parish, but holy cow the Eucharist is NOT important to this parish! That was one of the fastest consecrations I’ve ever seen and lay people were going in and out of the Tabernacle when the priest was perfectly capable of doing it. My suggestion is if you want a fast food type of mass, you could shorten the homily and give more honor to the Eucharist. If your goal is to be convenient for people then you obviously have the wrong idea of what it means to prioritize Christ.

This beautiful church has so many wonderful sentimental memories for our family. If you’ve never visited it’s amazing place to see. It truly is special place.

Beautiful church.

This is one of the most beautiful churches that I have ever been in. A center of calm in a swirling world is what I find in the serene setting here. The colors inside are soothing blues, golds, and creams and everywhere you turn, you can view colorful stained glass windows, statues, murals, and architecture unique to Germany in the 1870's. The front part of the inside of the church underwent a recent renovation and the pews are more comfortable. The wood floors are a light brown. It's just a cozy, cozy place and everybody is welcome. If you don't want to go in, you can still find a peaceful place for quiet meditation outside. Pathways with lush landscaping, fountains, and benches surround the outside of the church. Daily Masses- 7am-12pm Weekend Masses: 5pm Saturday; 8am, 9:30am, 11am, and 12:30pm Sunday Bonus: Right across the street is Mickey's Diner.

The doors are enormous. On my way back from Ruam Mit, leftovers in hand I decided to try my hand. wonderful and quiet inside. I felt a bit strange carrying my thai in there, but had no choice. I was totally compelled to visit, and am glad I did! I don't go into many churches, unless in Europe. Then we are all gaga over the history. Well, it is time for a little staycation! Get out there and visit your churches. They are magnificent. And old. and best of all? FREE. (unless you light the candles)

What a great old church! It's beautiful on both the outside and the inside. Take a look at some very old photos of St Paul and this church just may be in them. It dates from 1870.

Assumption Catholic Church is one of the oldest Catholic Churches in downtown St. Paul. You'll find it a quiet and serene place for prayer and worship. Best of all, is the artwork/painting, behind the altar. I used to work across the street and always enjoyed going here for some time of quiet prayer. It does get overshadowed by the Cathedral, but is well worth a visit for the history.

This is an amazing church. We struggled to find a good fit after moving to the cities, but this church & community are simply amazing!

Beautiful OLD landmark church in the heart of downtown St. Paul. A bit overshadowed by the looming St. Paul Cathedral above but this is a beautiful church and worth a visit. Love how it is situated in this old but rejuvenated part of old St. Paul.
