I liked the outside of the cathedral as well as the main gold facade at the alter of the church. But cathedrals that charge you money and are then insistent that you do not take any photos whatsoever really rubs me the wrong way. Of course I snuck some (non flash) photos anyway because it doesn’t hurt anything and I paid money to get in. Also, the crypt exhibit is really bad and not worth seeing

Wonderful church with great Architecture inside and out. A nice 30 mins self guided tour inside with helpful captions telling you of the history of all the pieces inside.

The whole plaza and surrounding area major gathering point. And at night time still busy with vendors.

They have mass at noon and 6 pm on Sundays. If you go to the noon mass, they open the doors around 11:50 am to keep tourists out and let the mass flow smoothly. The place is beautiful, and the mass lasts about an hour. Just a heads up, during holidays, they don’t have the noon mass, and sometimes they cancel the 6 pm one too. The best way to find out is to ask taxi drivers - they know!

As a tourist, this cathedral amazed me. The entrance fee is 12 soles (3-4 USD), which is less than half of the entrance fee of the other nearby cathedral. The gold-leaf altar was incredible to see, along with the small crypt and the viewpoint from near the top of the church. This self guided tour should only take 45-1 hour, but I would recommend this to anyone!

Worth visiting. Beautiful church. There is an entrance fee for tourist. No photography inside the church. Has a small crypt- the entrance is near the left side of the altar. You could access the first tier of the belltowers through a very narrow and steep stairs at the left side of the church near the choir loft - could easily be missed. Beautiful example of cusqueño baroque architecture. Beautuful gold leafed retablo. Has a ribbed vaulted ceiling. The view from the tower is great.. if you dont want to pay an entrance fee to have the same view of the cathedral and the plaza, you could get the same view from the nearby starbucks secondfloor.

As a local product, honestly say the interior of this was pretty impressive and the walls are very high and the ceiling is very high and it’s beautiful and it’s interesting that they have all these mirrors up on the wall I think as a show of wealth because mirrors would’ve been a lot more rare back then here’s some photos

What is fortunate enough, as a Catholic, to go mass here a few times while I was in Cusco. Very ornate very spiritual and as Catholics know, you don’t have to speak the language you know what’s going on. I found it fascinating that the priest told the congregation they could not go to communion unless they had gone to confession. Obviously, obviously centrally located on Plaza Major.
