Church of Vytautas the Great

And next to Perkūno Namas is another fairly well-preserved Gothic building – the Church of Vytautas the Great. I don't remember any other churches that don't bear the name of a saint. It's a very beautiful building and fits perfectly into its surroundings. But we've never been inside. It's always closed during our visits to Kaunas.

One of the oldest brick churches in Kaunas and a good example of Lithuanian Gothic) Its full name is Vytautas'the Great Church of the Assumption of the Holy Virgin Mary. It was built on the bank of the river Neman around 1400. You can find this temple in the Old Town, not far from Perkunas' house. The church looks better outside than inside because of a modest interior decoration. The church is bright and even cute. You feel tranquility here. My recommendation)

The view is beautiful. You can see the Neman in all its beauty. A very popular wedding destination. There’s always someone taking pictures in the cobbled streets around it as well. Very atmospheric!

Catholic church of Vytauto (Catholic church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary; lit. Vytauto Didžiojo bažnyčia; Švč. Mergelės Marijos Ėmimo į dangų) is a Catholic temple in the Old Town of Kaunas - one of the oldest in the city. The temple is included in the Register of Cultural Property of the Republic of Lithuania and is protected by the state.

Went on the bridge opposite to the church at night and I can say that the view of it is stunning. I haven't seen the church from the inside.

Nice church, we were the only visitors when entered. The river views aside the church are beautiful. Very relaxing spot.

Nice architecture, have a look from a bridge, definitely worth it.

I went to a wedding there and the priest was really nice, the interior is beautiful.
