Great service, atmosphere & food! The staff were really great & the meats were being offered every few minutes. Everything was absolutely delicious. When they knew I only spoke English, they made sure to say all the meats in English. Great service. I wish I stayed longer in Rio to visit this place more often

It’s all you can eat and not limit time. Beef and lamb are really good that juicy inside and crispy outside. Foods at the bar are all delicious and good ingredients. Serving staffs also provide good service and continue serving meats and give good recommendations. It’s really worth with reasonable price.

Google
Read below for my “what’s good here” comments, but what’s deplorable to me is that this otherwise fine restaurant appears to use fake reviews to pump up their overall score, i.e. streams of dozens of reviews posted on the same day by “Guides” who have no other reviews and no comments nor photos which in my thousands of reads and hours on Google Maps, does not occur! Take 2 minutes yourself to scroll through and see what I mean! There is no such thing as 20% of the seating capacity of a restaurant doing a Google Maps review each day. So I was offended before coming here that this place seemingly thinks potential customers are idiots! By the way, a significant American corporation I formerly worked for would be reluctant to use this restaurant due to the seemingly unethical review score pumping up process deployed here! Why shoot your own self in the foot as a business? THAT SAID, there are also real 5 star reviews herein, so I somewhat reluctantly and with much curiosity came here to experience this long-standing restaurant. Well, the service here is indeed excellent, every person we encountered here was super friendly to us, helpful, accommodating, and we were never rushed and most importantly understood us / what meats we wanted. The buffet here is small compared to similar places, yet the food choices were still great, a nice range to suit most tastes and the quality of most items very high. Some people rave about the sushi here, to me it was okay but very basic and limited as one might expect, this is a meat grill right? Meats here were cooked nicely, not overdone, and of course everything was generously salted (my preference). If you don’t like salty stuff, maybe don’t come here. The atmosphere is loud, looked like some tour group tables etc., however as a couple they seated us at a nice quieter table in back, it became a near private room which worked for us, maybe our reservation helped not sure. We enjoyed the place a lot. We tested the availability of things they don’t just bring around, I suggest you read the provided list and make your requests early on, and in all cases they had the item and graciously served them, the head waiter even came by often to ensure we got our Buffalo (so good!) and ostrich (fun to try, not the cook’s fault, but not our thing, it turns out ostrich is kind of rubbery to us, maybe that’s why there is no huge world demand for ostrich). Note that the big bottle of water here is priced to make sure that those not drinking wine pay the same amount of profit margin $ for their beverage as the wine drinkers (see bill, maybe ~ half the restaurant’s profit on our bill is on the water). So my rating score walking in the door was -1 stars for lack of ethics, and a 4 star for the full actual food and service experienced, resulting in a total score of 3 stars.

Google
Excellent service at this restaurant, located at a great spot. Staff is friendly and speaks English. Very reasonable price for all-you-can-eat (for Europeans) and top quality meat. Also nice selection at the buffet, including even some sushi. Can definitely recommend!

Google
Great local place for all you can eat Brazilian BBQ. there was a wait but it moved quickly. Great service and nice cold buffet which includes raw oysters. Must do in Rio.

Google
It’s a buffet style but the quality is absolutely top notch and in line with high end restaurant dishes. Lots of cuts of meats with high quality, sushi bar. Good desserts too. Excluding the service charge the buffet costs around 255 BRLS

Google
In comparison to a well known churrasqueria establishment in the US, the food at Churrascaria Palace was just OK. The service was great. The servers kept offering more of everything. We walked away well satisfied, but the focus seemed to be quantity over quality. The price was also a little steep.

Google
location wise, it’s located by the streets and very dark inside. i think the food bar they have was pretty good with the variety and quality. though i have warn that you probably shouldn’t fill yourself too much on these. the highlight of cos are the meats and no concerns on the quality. although u should quickly figure which are the ones u really like and then stop taking everything that comes along and just focus on the ones u really prefer. i think different pple will like different cuts. i personally think the sirloin and picanha are my fave. if are in the area, do try this place out. though i must say i am rating this with comparison to assador which i believe are the 2 more popular ones that always being compared. having tried both, this will be my 2nd choice.

Yelp
Churrascaria Palace is a Brazilian BBQ restaurant in the Copacabana neighborhood of Rio. Kamilla, the hostess greeted us with a smile and spoke perfect English. She explained the menu and seated us right away. Our waiter was friendly and took our drink order right away. The salad bar was small but had lots of good choices. The Gauchos, the guys that bring the meat spits around to the table, came in rapid fire, offering us great choices of meat. Most were very good. The first round or two they came often, then they needed to be called to get their attention. The caipirinha drinks were two of the best we have had in Brazil. I would highly recommend that you start with one of these, if you like them. Overall, I would rate the meal as 5 stars. We would definitely visit again!

Yelp
Located near Copacabana beach this churrascaria got my attention for their excellent reviews on Yelp. We visited around 4pm with no reversation. The place was almost empty due to the odd timing for dinner. The interior was nice, clean, and cool with air conditioning. The service was top notch with used plates replaced with clean ones constantly. The food was excellent. If you like meat this is the place for you. The only reason for the 4 star rating, not five star, is due to the pricing. It is expensive but definitely worth a visit.

Yelp
Great service. Old style steak house ambiance minus the white table cloth. The place was packed and the hostess was kind enough to find a table for one. Noticed a lot of tourists like myself and even a large tour group. Salad bar was ok. Wide sampling of cuts. They had pork, chicken and fish as well. Giving 4 stars primarily on service. Being from Texas, I'm spoiled on really good quality of beef.

Yelp
Excellent steaks and some of the best Caipirinhas we tried in Brazil. Nice option for upscale dining that isn't overly fancy.

Yelp
Best tip is to arrive early for dinner (before 6:30 pm) and get a table in the back. That's where all the carvers come out of the kitchen. I thought they had a great selection of meats. I also enjoyed the salad bar, which has everything you could imagine. I was especially pleased with the sushi, sashimi, and oysters and the half shell. That's not something I usually find in these kind of restaurants. The cost for the experience is high, but it is good value for money.

Yelp
Came here early Sunday night while on vacation. I'm Brazil. Place was recommended by a tour guide and a couple of people on this tour. We made reservations and was going to change it for layers, but there was nothing available. We got there and were seated immediately in the back room. The waiter explained the concept and process and took our drink orders. We tried a few things on the buffet and had no complaints about the selections. Service was really good, and the waiters 6 by frequently with a great selection of meat and seafood. Ambiance, typically strsl house, white table cloth atmosphere

Yelp
Very thing was very good. From the wine to meat. Being in a tourist area I didn't expect it to be as good as it was.

Yelp
We had a group dinner here during our first night in Rio. The space was warm and inviting with plenty of room for many tables and seating, along with an upstairs area. In the center there was a buffet with a plethora of options. For the meat, waiters came around and cut it in front of us. I tried both the fresh Passionfruit and Mango juices. I preferred the Passionfruit one, as it was lightly sweet, tangy, and oh so refreshing. The Mango one was decent, but too pulpy for me. At the buffet, there was warm cheese bread, prosciutto and other meats, bread, cheese, seafood soup, veggie soup, salad bar, crab cakes, sausage, potatoes cooked in different ways, risotto, various veggie dishes, curries, yuca fries, sushi (including vegetarian), and more. Everything was quite flavorful and tasty. Out of the meat, my favorite was the prime rib, which was tender and well seasoned. The steak was also delicious and very juicy, succulent. I also enjoyed the lamb and pork. For dessert, we were served fruit with vanilla ice cream. I had asked for coffee, hoping I would be able to get it with my dessert, but it is customary for it to be given after. The coffee was wonderful, rich and smooth. Service was pretty good. Our waiters were friendly and attentive.

Yelp
We came here (instead of Fogo) due to the high ratings. It was busy when we first came in (late afternoon). We ordered a bottle of Malbec and we started with the buffet. I love the selection of salads, cheese, soups, etc. My favorite was the sashimi. The tuna and salmon were really fresh and the hand roll was soooo good. That's where the goodness ends. The meats they were bringing to the table were limited (same kinds) and they were mediocre. We weren't impressed by the steaks. We did ended up ordering lamp chops since we saw another couple ordered some (you have to place a special order). We definitely did not eat enough meat to justify the cost. Lunch and dinner cost the same. I would not recommend coming here. Side note, their Pao de Queijo was the best I had while we were in Brazil. But not incentive enough for me.

Traci J.

Yelp
This was a delicious Brazilian Steakhouse. The meat was flavored really well. The service was excellent. It was fun to try different sizes and all of the meats that they have. So many different cuts!

Yelp
I was on tour in Rio and the welcome dinner was held at this restaurant. WhileI don't eat meat, there's plenty to eat at the salad bar. Plus they bring to the table cheese bread and cassava. The salad bar in itself has a big variety of items. I aye smoked salmon, hearts of palm, and garlic bread. I saw sushi but didn't get any. Meat is brought to your table and includes fish which I had. I had a refreshing passion fruit juice. For dessert we were served fruit salad topped with a vanilla ice cream. On the wall is a mural of famous Bossa Nova artists. Great restaurant for tourists.

Yelp
Great Ambiance & Service. The food just keeps coming! Broad selection of meats, impossible to choose. Casual yet intimate.

Yelp
Experience: My husband and I made reservations to eat here during our first evening in Rio. Wow wow wow. We made reservations for 7pm on a Tuesday evening. Since we went during off season, their Spring, we didn't have any issues making a reservation. When we arrived we were kindly greeted and immediately seated in the back room. It wasn't crowded, perhaps on the emptier side, but this was the perfect situation for us. We paid 215 Brazilian Real (around $44) for the buffet with meat. We each got a wine and shared a dessert. For roughly $60 each we ate like royals and weren't rushed. It was an amazing experience that I highly recommend everyone to try when in Rio. Food/ Drinks: We paid for the buffet and meat. The buffet was marvelous. It ranged from an array of cheeses, nuts, olives, pastas, seafood, sushi. traditional Brazilian beans, stews, and veggies, etc. One could easily fill up and leave satisfied with the buffet. We felt, to get the full experience, that we had to have the meet. I've never had so many different cuts of high quality meat. Decadent, savory, perfectly cooked. Wow. My favorite was the butterfly picanha. Parking: This is located in the touristy part of the city, walking distance from Copacabana Beach. Our walk from the hotel was about 6 minutes. Walking back was great after a heavier meal. If you can, just enjoy the walk over, even if it's 30 minutes or more. Worth it. Verdict: Easy 5 stars, the food was delicious, experience was wonderful, price point was fantastic, staff was friendly. Go.

Yelp
We recently visited this Brazilian steakhouse and I have to say it 100% exceeds expectations. This was a fancy establishment, and the service was top-notch. Their buffet bar has some really good options. My favorite from there would have to be the sushi. It was surprisingly tasty and flavorful and fresh. Of course we came for the meat. Everything was cooked to your order and was absolutely delicious. This was the first Brazilian steakhouse that offered ribeye and short rib with their Buffet. This was definitely what stood out to me the most, and separated them from other steakhouses. Highly recommend!

Yelp
This place was incredible. On our first day in Brazil, I decided to take myself and the family to this restaurant. The hostess was equal parts charming and equal parts gracious. We started the meal with the salad part. The variety and the quality was top-notch. We had to make two trips to sample almost every item offered. Do yourself a favor and get the sashmi. The fish was fresh and tender. I had this fire-seared salmon. It was out of this world. Plus the carpaccio. Fantastic! I was shocked that we still had room for the meats. The picanhas was so tender and well-seasoned. Sirloin, prime rib, chicken, pork belly were all spot-on. The beef rib was a showstopper for me. Someone mentioned it was something out of the Flintstones cartoon. One negative note though, the fish on the skewer was a bit too dry for me. It was flaky like a Chilean sea bass but had none of the moistness. Overall, great experience and great service. I had Brazilian bbq before but in New York and New Jersey. This is by far, the best I ever had. Highly recommend it.

Yelp
This is the place in rio to have churrascaria per our private guide. We made a reservation with no problems but after that there was a some language issues. We wanted the Brazilian lemonada suica...no avail we only got the regular. The salad bar was very good with crab cakes and lots of salmon sushi and sashimi. There were some Brazilian traditional food like Feijoada bobo de camarao and my favorite chicharron. The meat offerings to us I guess unlike US you can't really choose how you want it cooked. They bring it to you the way you should eat it. I found a lot of the more rare than I like it to be. The picanha that I thought would be the star in this restaurant was just ok. They do have 2 different types though. The sides were better than American churrascarias but they were not as all you can eat as US. Once we got 2 refills of only 3 pao de queijo they didn't want to give us anymore. Overall good experience but don't expect things like how it is in U.S. The beef rib here is the star of their show but you only get one slice and they are reluctant to give you another like US.

Yelp
No trip to Rio is complete without visiting this fine establishment. Walking in the atmosphere oozes luxury. After dining here, I refuse to go to Fogo De Chao because this restaurant was not commercialized. The salad bar selections are out of this world from the fresh tuna to the smoked herring. There was even a sushi bar. The variety of the bars had a lot of interesting selections. Each cut of meat was served and cooked perfectly. The meat comes with sides of fries and cassava. The waitstaff was attentive and friendly. Treat yourself!
google avatar

Dylan C.

Yelp
A solid all you can eat steakhouse in Rio! The appetizers bar had a lot of Brazilian specialties. A must try is the sausages- smoked super well! The meats themselves are pretty tender and flavorful too. And the staff is the friendliest!
google avatar

Rick F.

Yelp
Ate there on last trip. The churrascaria part vg. Very salty tho - i was drinking like a camel. Was $200 for 3. Pricey for even Rio! Would eat there again.
google avatar

Tom K.

Yelp
The staff's attention to detail, our experience, and everything in general was amazing. The food was amazing, the wine selection was out of this world, and the room itself was warm and comforting. The salad bar and sushi bar was not what I expected at all. Normally this is where they will get you, but the fish was perfect and the salads and small bites were worth repeat trips. I will be back, and we will bring another group.

Yelp
Churrascaria Palace was recommended to me by a local tour guide via Trip Advisor. And I'm so glad it didn't disappoint! I've had a long day in the airport and barely ate except for some crackers so I was famished by the time I touched down in Rio. For R $169 (Brazilian real equivalent to about $30 USD), you get your fill of Brazilian rodizio. Think of it as like Fogo De Chao or Espetus in the US but of course, would you pass on experiencing legit churrascaria when in Brazil?! The buffet includes all the meats (you can scan QR code on the menu if you need it in English and order the ones you like best). Otherwise, the servers will just come to your table offering you slices of meat unless you say "não". I tried all of it but the one that I had a soft spot for were the ostrich and picanha. Im not sure about the other one (correct me if I'm wrong since I couldn't really understand Portuguese - Google Translate is my friend) but I think I heard the server say "skirt steak". But...I didn't see that on the menu so it must be the shoulder steak. All those juicy tenderness paired with a glass of wine (Malbec) for me was perfection. For starters, they'll explain the menu process - basically you can order / all you can eat style when it comes to the starters, entrees, sushi and meat. Desserts and drinks are extra. Being that it's my first time in Brazil, I also had to try the cãju caipirinha. Not a big drinker so it was strong for me!! No wonder it's the Brazil's national cocktail! Cãju, which I only learned of today, is a cashew nut fruit originally grown in northeastBrazil. It kind of looks almost like a flan when made into a drink. But add "cachaça" or sugarcane liquor and more sugar and voila! You get to have a caipirinha :) Anyway, service was superb and the people were very friendly too! The service or "serviço" charge is already baked into the bill - but I was surprised that with all that I ordered, I only paid $47 USD. Even though there's a service charge included, totally up to you and depends on how generous you are with tipping if you want to give more which is ideal but you don't have to. I don't regret making Churrascaria the first order of business of my trip. I am stuffed!
google avatar

Shannon B.

Yelp
Excellent service and a large variety of options... both from the salad/appetizer bar and the skewed meats.

Autumn Y.

Yelp
Fantastic meal, worth the price! Great service, convenient location. It's a nice restaurant, but you don't have to get dressed up. If I go back to Rio, I'll definitely be going there again!
google avatar

Jonathan D.

Yelp
Pretty good place. Felt there were better places with less hype but solid spot. Make reservations during peak times.
google avatar

Ana M.

Yelp
We love the place! Best in Natal ,Brazil Great food and service.... nobody speak English

Fatima C.

Yelp
Best food in Rio! If you go there you must eat at Churrascaria Palace, they have a very friendly staff and delicious food . A 5 star place
google avatar

Phil B.

Yelp
Came here because of the reviews and historical context. The palace is supposed to be the original churrascaria however, very outdated with an off kind of vibe. Mostly an older crowd when I went. The meats were good but nothing extraordinary, with the sides sitting and drying out in the buffet table. Much better places around this gorgeous city. But hey, least I can say I've been to the original!
google avatar

Danielle P.

Yelp
If you like well seasoned meat, this is your place for sure. They have a extensive buffet with so much. Sushi is included on the buffet. You are bound to find something you like. I was overwhelmed with all the choices, so make sure you taste in small portions. This place has been around for many yrs and is the standard Brazilian BBQ places. It didn't disappoint at all...Customer service was wonderful!! They are located in Copacabana not far from the beach scene. All the food was excellent, if you don't see something you like jus ask the servers. The meat jus kept coming and coming, I finally had to say no more...I was so full early into my meal that night. I highly recommend you experience just go for the buffet alone, it has plenty of meatless options available.
google avatar

John B.

Yelp
A small and intimate place, right off the beach. I really liked it. Salad and meats were excellent. There was a good selection of seafood on the antipasti and salad bar. Service was prompt and friendly. Everyone spoke English well. At R200 per person, very reasonable.
google avatar

Robbin M.

Yelp
Delish all you can eat traditional Brazilian steak house. Located safely off of Atlantico Blvd next to Copacabana Palace Hotel. My daughter is not a meat eater but had so many options for her as well. Not cheap but not overly priced for what you receive. Service was fantastic and they were very generous with the food meats. All was extremely tasty and plentiful.
google avatar

Luc D.

Yelp
The food was really good and had a lot of variety. Children got a discount of 50%. The service was excellent. The ambiance was also really nice and I enjoyed eating there.
google avatar

Jennifer S.

Yelp
My hubby and I went here a few years ago. We had a great dinner at Churrascaria Palace. We ate so many different types and cuts of beef. They were all so flavorful. The servers were very attentive and friendly. We can now check off eating at a Brazilian steakhouse in Brazil. Yay! Also, we found a coupon online on their website but I am not sure if the restaurant still offers it.
google avatar

Phillip M.

Yelp
I had heard rave reviews yet we we were disappointed with this Place. There's much better churrascarias. Very disappointed cuts, over done and very small meat cuts.
google avatar

Courtnie C.

Yelp
It's the same rodizo style to a popular international churrasqueria (Fogo de Chao) that we adore but lesser quality.
google avatar

Brooke C.

Yelp
Stopped in when visiting Rio. So good! Much better and cheaper than Fogo de ... Our favorites were the ribeye and lamb chop. Sushi was decent also.

Manuel O.

Yelp
The roof is average but the price is high. Not too many options to pick and takes some time for you to get the meat.
google avatar

Cesar A.

Yelp
Great service and delicious food and not overly priced. You have to be very careful and pace yourself. Don't accept all the cuts of meat the offer you right away. Accept two or three at the beginning ( don't worry they will offer again) settle them down with wine or your choice of beverage. Then accept the other cuts that you haven't tried yet. I made the mistake of accepting everything ( they offer the different cuts every 5 minutes) and was stuffed and couldn't finish everything. I'm the only one to blame for this, but now I know better.
google avatar

Mariam E.

Yelp
I dont know what they feed us in USA and call it churascaria. This is the real spot. Amazing meats, salad bar, wine selection and great service. Small restaurant with everything you need.
google avatar

Mike T.

Yelp
This place serves the best meat I've ever had. I was here for a good friends rehearsal dinner the night before their wedding. Food was phenomenal, I was so into our food and conversation I took no pictures. The service was wonderful- very prompt, I never had an empty plate, and the caipirinhas were fantastic. I highly recommend this place!
google avatar

Tony S.

Yelp
Food was outstanding. Great variety of salads and side dishes. Meats were great quality. Service was great also. In Copacabana you couldn't ask for a better place
google avatar

Richard H.

Yelp
Here is my two cents on the food and chatter. This is a carnivore heaven. You come here for the Brazilian barbecue experience and to stuff your face with lots of lots of meat plus sampling at the buffet side dishes and sushi. This place has it been around for many many years it is the standard for Brazilian barbecue joints. This is located next to the Copacabana Palace Hotel so it is considered very chic to go here which equals expensive and actually is primarily geared to the tourists of Rio de Janeiro. 99% of Brazilians would find this too expensive to go. But folks you will experience in a very chic matter the Brazilian idea barbecue. You have an extensive buffet of side dishes, desserts and sushi. So when you go only sample small bits. Be advised that though they say and look like American dishes they are a interpretation of our dishes. Now for the carnivores they bring to you filet mignon, top sirloin, pork, lamb, chicken hearts, chicken, sausage etc. until you are full or you tell them to stop. Also be advised that 99% of your servers will be male in white shirts and black ties...this is a tradition in Brazil of men being a waiters in . All the food is excellent and if you don't find anything you definitely need to just ask and they will do their best to-fulfill your request. This is definitely a place you need to go and place on your to do list.
google avatar

Michelle K.

Yelp
This place was recommended to us by a Brazilian tour guide and it really lived up to (and exceeded) expectations! One of the best meals I have ever had - and definitely the best steak. The buffet style allows you try to try so many different cuts of meat at a reasonable fixed price. They bring the meats to the table and you can select what you'd like and then go up to the buffet for sides, salads, and sauces. The seasoning and preparation of the meat was excellent and we loved everything we tried. Service was excellent and would highly recommend to others.

Yelp
Our last dinner in Rio was at the Churrascaria Palace, another Brazilian steakhouse. ATMOSPHERE: This place was buzzing with tourists and locals. Bare walls made for a very ho-hum vibe. They had the usual salad bar that included sushi selections. FOOD: Included with our meals were rice, French fries, onion rings which we never touched, cheese and garlic bread. The meats & poultry were of high quality and seasoned well. Meats of various cooking temperatures came on the single skewer, a great time saver for everyone. Another selection that put this place one-up on the rest was their succulent grilled jumbo shrimp that kept on coming. I had to control myself to avoid a gout attack! We paid about $120 for two meals, red wine and a beer. Definitely pricey. SERVICE: The servers came around quite often, but we didn't receive any of the lamb chops that were available. No "stop" and "go" chips here. Service was friendly and communication was easy. TIPS: Try to pay with cash. My credit card got compromised while in Rio and I'm not sure where it happened, so this tip appears on all my reviews where I paid with it. The restaurant is located on a side street across from the famed Copacabana Palace hotel. OVERALL: Probably one of Rio's best steakhouses.

Yelp
Consisted of a buffet first where there are a variety of salads and other appetizers before you are served a variety of meats. Service was okay. I feel like I was skipped over a few times. For example, some were offered meats and my party wasn't. I prefer Assador's Churrascaria over this one for sure
google avatar

Reilley L.

Yelp
A very fancy place but I walked in with a tank top and shorts . I thought everything was amazing just watch out for the drinks, they're expensive. I couldn't even get tap water for free. But otherwise, it is a great place

Jesse R.

Yelp
I was totally pleased with the rodizio selection. And the meats were perfectly roasted. Highly recommended!

Yelp
All the food here is delicious and it's popular so I recommend making a reservation to secure yourself a table if you plan on going. It's buffet brasil style there is salad bar and they walk to your table w different meat skewers.
