I recently visited Chutneys and tried quite a few items to get a full sense of their menu. We ordered the Paper Dosa, 70mm Dosa, Vada, Idli, Chitti Idli, Gunpowder Idli, and Upma. The food was decent, and everything was served fresh.
The ambience is okay, clean and comfortable, but nothing particularly extraordinary. It fits the standard dine-in South Indian restaurant feel.
Taste-wise, the dishes were good, but personally, I still prefer the bold, authentic flavours you get at roadside carts. Those places have a unique punch that Chutneys doesn’t fully match for me. So while it’s enjoyable, it didn’t give that unforgettable, street style taste I usually look forward to.
The bill came to around 2000, which felt a bit on the higher side for the overall taste experience. Still, for a proper sit in restaurant, it’s within the expected range.
Overall, Chutneys is good for a one time visit, especially if you prefer clean seating and a comfortable dine-in experience. But if you love that real, authentic roadside flavour, you might still find the bandis more satisfying.
