I recently visited Chuy’s and ordered the chicken enchiladas with Chicka Chicka Boom Boom sauce — absolutely amazing! The flavors were rich and comforting, and it truly was a mouth-watering experience. The wait time was a bit long since it was rush hour, but honestly, it was worth it. The drinks were great too — refreshing and well-balanced. We also tried the tacos and enchiladas with tomatillo sauce, which turned out to be another favorite. Overall, I highly recommend Chuy’s if you’re craving some tasty Tex-Mex. The food is delicious, portions are generous, and the prices are pretty reasonable.

Food is decent Mexican! They have great service, and the place has character. We went on a Thursday night and it was packed and loud. If you're looking for a quiet, romantic dinner, this is not the place for you. Their queso could be better, salsa has a kick, and creamy jalapeno tastes a bit too mayo-y for my taste but others in my party really liked it. Def get their margs.

We went here on a Friday evening. There was a 30 minute wait so I'd recommend to get in line before you get here. The Boom Boom sauce is great and unique to Chuy's. Their portion sizes are generous. They have good kid options too. Overall the meals are pretty good value for money for decent quality which is why I will keep coming again. Highly recommend the Tres Leches

6 of us had dinner for a birthday. We started with the mixed plate appetizer and it was hot and delicious to share with whole table. Our server was very friendly and professional. He provided tres leches cake on the house and some churros on the house for the birthday girl. Very enjoyable experience we expect and know about Chuy's.

Started a little off. Got seated waiting out side. Young lady who sat us down didn't give us menu for a while. So had to get up and get my own menu, napkins, and silverware. Just sat there for a while and the 2 tables that sat down after us got menus , chips, salsa, and drinks. Still waiting.....wife is obviously getting annoyed and as we were about to get up and leave... server finally 🙌! Moose hands the best service I have had there. This gentleman was super nice, friendly, and had great recommendations. Moose thank you so much for making this visit so much better. He was on top of everything and very polite. Moose, Ryder (my fur baby) says thank you for his treat. Chuys this is an this young man is an example of great customer service and excellent employee.

Came here after a family event and our server just didn't look happy to be there, forgot our drinks a few times and completely forgot to bring out another that was ordered later, so we just asked to take it off the check. Didn't get their name but was some of the worst service we've ever gotten. The server that brought out our food though was enthusiastic and seemed genuinely happy to serve us, the review would have been different if he was the one that took care of us from the start!

MAGNIFICENT!! We love Chuy’s and were rewarded with smith great experience. Matthew did an amazing job serving us. The food was fresh and delicious. I had a bowl this time and it was awesome! The decor is one of my favorite things as it’s always fun and creative!

They need to communicate better, host sits guest without informing waitress, we almost left due to no service 7 minutes on. Waitress notices us and was able to rush our order so we wouldn't be late. The food was very good.

PLEASE--Avoid this location. Rude, discourteous, unprofessional--and either petty or incapable of counting. If the service at the hostess desk is a precursor to the service at the table--I can't imagine how bad this experience could have been. We left as we were advised they weren't capable of getting a table that could seat 7 adults and a toddler after our 30+ minute wait. Before going to the restaurant, we called ahead to see what wait time was--the online waitlist advised that it couldn't be joined for groups larger than 7. Our party was 7 plus a baby. We were advised at arrival that they just needed to clean a table off and we'd be seated. We waited 30 minutes or so with almost no patrons (maybe 10-15 people, at most) in the restaurant. A separate group of 8 then comes in about 25min after us and is seated almost immediately. The hostess then makes a point to roll her eyes at us when we ask why they were seated prior to us. A 2nd hostess stated they had joined the waitlist online--the same waitlist that wouldn't allow for a party of 7+ to join online. We were then shown to a table that seated 6, located almost directly on top of another party of 6. We asked if this was a mistake (we needed 7 chairs & a highchair spot) and were advised they "didn't have any other options." The place was empty. We realized this situation was only getting worse, so left and ate elsewhere. Try the other Chuy's locations before wasting your time & energy here. We used to enjoy this location--what happened?? What a disappointment.

This place used to be amazing.. but now it's just a boring chain of vanilla every day Tex mex. They used to have tributes to Elvis on his birthday, free cake, and discounts if you dressed up as Elvis. They did away with all of that and the Elvis fried chicken, and now you can literally visit any of the million Tex mex restaurants and you'll get the same exact food. Big fat giant thumbs down to you Chuys!!!

What happened? Chuy's has been a frequented local favorite in my family for 30+ years. We have been LOYAL fans for decades. Birthdays, happy hours, and take-out orders galore. Our favorite items have been stripped from the menu, and now we are starting to see the effects of the Darden sellout with new tREnDy menu items that are more aimed at sounding commercially cute than being delicious Tex Mex with Chuy's standards. Went yesterday for lunch with the family and now they have deep fried globs of guacamole with bacon called "Guacin' Bacon Bites" and they are atrocious. Reminds me of those awful "Lasagna Fritta" mistakes at Olive Garden. Popular menu items thrown into the deep frier for a quick cash grab on existing items that go bad quickly, instead of fresh new ideas. To be clear, I'm not against fried avocados. In fact, Chuy's used to have a fantastic fried avocado stuffed with chicken and cheese, but the golden days are gone. Maybe change the new appetizer to fried avocado bites? That could be great. But the soggy, mushy guac bites were repulsive. And that's something I never thought I'd say about anything from Chuy's. My experience was also negatively impacted by a server who acted like we were inconveniencing him by asking for napkins when our table of 5 was seated with only 3 napkins to begin with. There were also 2 mistakes on the food orders, but by that point we had kinda lost hope and didn't make a big deal out of it. For decades, we have loved Chuy's for the incredibly reliable service from attentive and cheerful servers, food that never disappointed, and managers that made a point to come around and ask how tables enjoyed their meals -- and our answer has usually been "great as always!" What happened to that sparkle? If you want to bring back your die hard locals, give us what we really want -- the chile rellenos, the banditos appetizer of the 2000s (miniature chimichangas made with whole wheat tortillas and filled with green chili and Monterrey Jack cheese), and stop re-introducing items like the Elvis Green Chili Fried Chicken as "new" when they were on the menu for years and only went away temporarily during the pandemic. Without the trust that had been earned through decades of consistent experiences, there is no reason to continue choosing Chuy's over the forever increasing number of options in this city that lives on Tex Mex.

Food was amazing Place was not busy and we had to wait for a table The patio area was not cleaned up. Trash was just there in the walkway- the employees just kept walking over it. We had to ask them to clean that up.

First time at this location. Plenty of parking located right off 183. Friday evening it's a busy place. Advised the hostess party if 3. Thirty minute wait, understandably @6:30P. We asked if we could eat at the bar and the hostess advised us first come first serve. I questioned if the tables at the bar were also first come first serve and she couldn't give me a direct answer. I was able to find a staff member in the bar area and he confirmed yes. Open tables! The wait to get a drink at the bar was a little too long not even acknowledged standing there for five minutes. Maybe they just need more bartenders. Ordered my usual Mexican martini it's pre-mix so not my favorite. We probably waited 10 minutes and a table opened up Elijah our very gracious waiter, cleaned it off for us and began bringing us chips and their famous jalapeños salsa. I poured my Mexican martini in my glass and the entire thing spilled out. The cap fell off. We cleaned it up not a big deal. The problem was when I addressed it with the bartender and she questioned me where this happened and did I want another drink? A better response would've been, I'm sorry. Let me make you another drink. Not impressed by the food Chalupa that was all tortilla and a little bit of chicken I think. Very dry rice and beans. It's a very appealing restaurant to the eye. Did I mention their jalapeño ranch dip

Great spot to grab lunch or dinner! We had a team dinner after a long work day. Their chips and salsa is delicious and not to forget the jalapeño ranch. Ordered Veggie enchiladas and those were amazing. Tres leches cake is just spot on! Definitely a must try here. The vibe is just right. Ample parking space but might get crowded in evenings. We had a reservation but still had to wait for about 15-20mins. But food was amazing! Plenty of options for vegetarians. Must visit when in Austin!

Chuy's is an OG Austin TexMex vibe. Is their food the best in the world? No. Does it hit the spot? Absolutely - especially that jalapeño ranch and Boom-Boom sauce. Pair that with some fun little drinks (margaritas) and you have yourself a good time. Our server was great! Always get the chips and salsa with the jalapeño ranch. Order some happy hour $5 queso (M-F, 3-6pm) if you want the absolute trio of dips (warning: you may get full just on this). You're safe with anything from the menu for entrees. We love their "big as yo' face" burritos and the Chicka-Chick-Boom-Boom enchiladas. No reservations needed but you can hop on the waitlist online if it's busy. Plenty of parking in their spacious lot, and outdoor patio seating is available.

Chuy's is one of my kids and my favorite places to eat. Tonight was no exception. We didn't have to wait too long for a table inside and the drinks and food was solid as usual. The onions in the fajitas were a bit sweeter/caramelized than I remembered but they removed the bell peppers at my request.

The ambience is terrible, with crammed together beat up tables and uncomfortable seats. The service is very slow, and unresponsive to requests like extra tortillas for fajitas. The parking lot is cramped and unsafe with no night lighting. First and last visit to this chain.

Nothing has changed and the food is as good as ever under Darden. I've met the OG owner Mark, and was worried something might change with the OG scratch sauces, but the Boom Boom is still the same and I enjoyed the usual fun ambiance as well. I had typical and amazing service at the bar today. Thank you so much for letting me relax and slowly order. I always feel so happy with your service. I'll be back in 6 months after I return from Dubai.

Well heck! My TGIF at Chuy's has turned into my What's Chuy's going to get wrong this week? I ordered boom boom sauce and instead I received creamy jalapeño ranch dressing. Don't mistake that creamy jalapeño ranch is not tasty because it is. However, when I order a specific sauce AND it is listed correctly on my receipt then I expect to get exactly what was ordered - ho hum

Always get my order wrong for the 3rd time if I order to go. Even if it took me long time to wait for my order. Tonight, on my 3rd order I waited 30 minutes, when I got my order, 1 item is missing. So I went back and told them about a missing order, so they try to make it. Well, they made the wrong item (they made soft taco instead of chicken quesadilla), and all of this on top of 45 minutes wait. Will never going to order To Go here. Ever.

Unfortunately I agree with the recent reviews of this place. We use to love coming here, but lately the place is too busy even checking in online and being told it'll only be 30 minutes (it takes up to 50+ minutes when they say that). We decided that we loved the food but needed a change from dining in, so we opted for carry out. Unfortunately, what use to be great has gone sour as well with our food having smaller portions than what they use to serve, yet we're paying the same price for a full. For example, they no longer fill up their to go soups like they use to when paying for large, and the soup is barely anything just small bits when you use to be able to have chunks of the various veggies and chicken. (Picture of recent soups bought, but this has become the norm). In their defense once you are seated, their service is good, and the food is delicious. But for now, we're shelving our love for Chuys in hopes that these issues are just an off season.

The food was good. Old school Austin had a secret sauce, not on the menu. I had some questions about sauce/ salsas. Cam was sent over WOW! EXTRAORDINARY customer service. Cam explained all, bringing back a plate full of all sauces! I identified the old school original secret as the one they serve with a traditional chunky red tomato salsa. All was delicious. He surely saved the day we had an obviously new waitress, no silverware, no napkins until we asked after food was served. We had to ask for everything normal at a restaurant. We were still under Cams' energetic spell! Atmosphere is chill menu was limited but the chicken flauta plate was perfectly prepared.

As usual, Chuy's can't disappoint you ever! Loved their veggies options, starting from loaded nachos as appetizers to enchiladas and fajitas. I like that they provide flexibility to add one more enchiladas (which the sauce of your choice). This becomes great when sharing between two people. And of course! Nobody can beat them on price with this quality and taste. 4 variety of vegetarian sauce! Wow! Chuy's was the reason I fell in love with tex-mex food.

It's 100% TexMex, and good quality and very consistent across 15 years of eating here. The food and the decent price is always worth it. Always a great place to hang out and grab a bite or get the family out! It's run well but also still old school- Sometimes they get busy or make a mistake. You'll be greeted with chips, queso/creamy, and drinks/soda/water quickly. Then if they're busy, just enjoy the relaxed patio or lively inside until the waiter greets you, friendly and efficient. Recently, we had a very bad to-go experience- Called the restaurant, had to drive all the way back, but then were met with a refund and a gift certificate. They wanted to correct their mistake and were very professional. Very kind employees and manager, that left us feeling heard and happy to return again.

I love going to Chuy's any chance I can get. Despite the fact that their menu was downsized thanks to 2020, the quality of the food has absolutely not changed, and that's a good thing. The Wife loves getting her cheese enchiladas and I love the 'big as your face' burritos, and it's always great. The creamy jalapeño dip is a must by the way. This is the main Chuys location that I frequent and that is not going to change.

Great spot to grab lunch or dinner! My boyfriend and I worked up an appetite after shopping all day. We popped in for lunch, there were parties outside waiting but luckily we were able to get seated right away. The dinning area wasn't too loud, however we did pop in during rush hour so everyone looked busy. Once we arrive to the table we were immediately greeted with chips and salsa. The salsa isn't the best but I recommend getting the queso! Our server was very kind and knowledgeable about the menu. I don't eat meat/chicken so the veggie enchiladas were already calling my name. The food was flavorful and delicious. My boyfriend loved the shrimp tacos, however he is a picky eater and didn't like the beans. Overall we had a positive dining experience!

Bam! Just awesome Tex-Mex. All the standard favs. Burritos, enchiladas, tacos, fajitas, and... yes they do have salads with a TexMex flair. I will say the Boom Boom sauce makes anything spicy good without blowing your head off. Many menu options to pick from. Service is attentive without being over the top. The ambiance is well.... interesting. Cars, dog pic, wooden fish deco and of course a shrine to Elvis. It's all good. We've been to several locations and all have been terrific.

Missing items, customer service horrible and food sucks. I would take it back if it wasn't a pain.

Ol reliable. Food was great as usual, the service was solid but it took a while for us to get seated. Ambiance is the classic dive bar esque Chuys vibe. Always love coming here and have been a regular since I was a kid! I got the big as your face burrito with bean and cheese. The boom boom sauce on top was great and pro tip: Chuys leftovers taste better than when you're full and still eating

Ambiance: This was our time eating at Chuy's. We went for dinner on a Wednesday and there was a wait. I can't remember how long but it wasn't bad. The restaurant is brightly decorated which I loved. They have a bar area with seating separate from the dining area. Food: my husband ordered waters, and nachos with beef fajita. The waitress brought out the drinks with chips and salsa.Then out came the nachos-Yum! I had the fajita plate with rice and refried beans and flour tortillas. Our daughter had the quesadilla plate and my husband asked for just the fajita chicken and cheese inside the t Service: We were seated in booth and Issac was our waiter. He was very polite, the service was quick and he was very attentive.

We ate outside. It was a cute little area. I was able to take my pup with me which is always a plus. I ordered the Panchos with fajita chicken. The chicken had a great flavor. Unfortunately it was a little dry, this could be due to the way they melt the cheese on. The beans were a strange red color, but they tasted alright. I'd probably go back again. This time I went with a friend who really wanted to go.

Chuy's has really gone downhill after many years of being awesome and being our family and friends go-to restaurant. The meals are smaller and totally lacking in so many ways. We recently had faquitas, tacos, and enchiladas and all 5 of us were totally disappointed. Some dishes were cold, others had little meat, or overcooked meat, etc. Service was slow and they forgot to bring us several items. It was also difficult to get the attention of the waitress or any waiter or waitress. We've been coming here for over 22 years and we'd meet friends and neighbors here for bdays and other festivities. No longer. It is just too disappointing and sad now. I wonder how the original owners feel about Chuy's now.

Placed a phone takeout order hours ahead. I showed up for pickup and they spent 15 minutes looking for my order. Then tell me they don't have it after spending all that time waiting. While I was standing there, I heard 3 different people say the same thing. I've been eating here for 20 years, and the food is still fine, but the management is going down the drain. Tons of staff running around inefficiently. Sad. Also, no apology. The other people who had similar experiences complained and got gift cards.

The food is always hot, fresh and delicious. The staff is always super busy but I've never experienced bad customer service. If you love Tex-Mex, Chuys is the spot to come!

I wish I could give an improved rating review, but when errors are made with the order to the kitchen and the kitchen misfires, they still get 3 stars. I sat at the bar during lunch on a weekday and asked for a chicken quesadilla with chicken and cheese only, hold the guacamole to-go. When I got home I discovered the order went in without my quesadilla specification. However, it did say, no guacamole. So of course, I received a regular chicken quesadilla with guacamole (which ended up on some of the food). The bartender screwed up and the kitchen screwed up. My order wasn't complicated. Come on Chuy's!

My family and I always love going to this Chuy's they always bring out your food super delicious The service was awesome our waiter was so funny and was playing along with my dads humor she was a awesome waiter and hope we can have her again next time The ambiance was so clean and decor is so pretty and unique paints overall an awesome experience definitely recommend this place if your looking for good Tex-mex food!!!

** Ordered delivery ** Packaging was good except for the nachos which looked like the box that they came in dropped. Taco's were OK. I liked that they came with toppings to garnish and the sauce was good but the meat was a bit tough and wasn't tender. Had to chew hard through it. My favorite part of my meal was the plain nacho chips and queso cheese. Didn't finish everything else i bought. Overall food was underwhelming . Not sure if delivery had something to do with it but I definitely wouldn't recommend this place.

After a worst and disaster experience, I mailed them as they asked me in the reply, and someone actually reached out and we went today same location for dinner, Food was amazing, our server Andrew was phenomenal, wish I could give him more than 5 starts, and it's not like he knew we had a bad experience, so he was good, because we dint mention him anything:)) holding off a star to see if they'll be consistent!!

I got a taco and enchilada and queso. My little brother also got enchiladas. It's a good place to go if you're in a rush and want to dine in somewhere quickly. My drink was amazing! Forgot what it was called. No complaints on the drink it was really good. The service was sub par. My server was not friendly at all he was kind of rude and careless honestly, I've been a waitress too- I know how it is but something was off. Anyway, at the very end after I paid my tab and he said it was his first day so who knows. That could've been it. Moral is, You'd spend less for about the same at Taco Bell. Lol. I probably wouldnt go back.

My family likes to get fajitas take out at this place. For $65, they give you this kit with tons of toppings options and beef and chicken as protein. It easily feeds our family of 4 and we sometimes have leftovers for the next day. Aside from that, my favorite thing from there is the creamy jalepeno sauce, it's delicious with a tiny kick to it.

Yesterday was my company's Holiday party. Last week we ordered fajitas for 40, chips and salsa, creamy jalapeño sauce, cheese quesadillas and tres leches. Chuy's said our order would be ready at 6:30 at the Duval store. I was there at 6:30. The store was packed. The parking lot had lots of people coming and going. Ben, the very friendly guy at the pick up counter told me my order would be a while. I appreciated his honesty and went to my car to wait. Ben was aware that I was in spot #26. I sat in spot #26 for a while. Finally Shelby, from the kitchen, I think, came out to apologize for my wait. Shelby returned with a Tres Leches just for me, again, apologizing for my wait. Our party began at 7:00. So now that it was 7:45 I appreciated the Tres Leches. At 8:00 Ben comes to my car with my order. As he is putting everything into my car and verifying my order we noticed there is a leak in the box he has placed in my car. He lifts the box up and says 5 minutes to repack all your food in a new box. In 5 mins Ben returns to my car with a new box and the food, no longer leaking. I then asked are there any utensils? He says 2 more minutes. By 8:10 I left Chuy's with my food. I have no complaints about Ben and Shelby - they both bent over backwards to do their very best and were more than courteous. However Chuy's , shame on you for promising the food would be ready at 6:30. Chuy's is unable to get their take out ready when promised. 2 stars - one for Ben and one for Shelby Food was great but 90 mins late

The takeout or togo service for this restaurant is great! Curbside is available if you prefer not to pickup inside the restaurant. Staying in the Tru next door Chuy's is within walking distance.

It's still wonderful. I guess they don't have the nacho bar during happy hour. Bummer I just wish they'd bring back fish tacos. That was my favorite. And the rellanos. Best salsa In town.

Have been eating here for years. Today ordered a simple bean burrito and 2 sweet teas. Was told would be 10-15 min. 35 minutes later still no food. Called from my car and was told to "just wait". Very rude and unprofessional! Next time maybe I'll go back to Cedar Park. We even used them for our wedding reception. Today was horrible.

Chuy's is great and despite being a chain, still feels about as Austin as Austin gets. I love this location because it's a little hidden away and the parking lot is huge. Came on a Saturday lunch and there was plenty of space. My favorite appetizer is honestly just their chips and salsa + creamy jalepeno dip. The salsa has some serious kick (which I love) and the creamy jalepeno dip is the absolute best. Drench everything in it. For food, I highly recommend their fajitas. Pro tip: if you don't need the sizzling platter in front of you, their tacos al carbon with fajita beef is the cheaper version. Less tortillas, less sizzle but tastes the same more or less and you get all the accompaniments either way. Very well seasoned. Amazingly, Chuy's prices haven't really changed that much over the years either, so in the current inflation state, great way to take out the family but not break the bank.

Very disappointing.... my wife and I had dinner at the 183/Duval location and it was absolutely terrible food. I ordered the Elvis presley plate and she had the taco salad. mine was mostly tortillas smothered in a bland sauce; very little meat and what was their was tasteless. wife said the chicken in her taco salad tasted like it was boiled and had no flavor. she only ate about 3 bites and pushed it aside...drank a margarita and ate chips and salsa. service was good but food inedible. will not return.

Just me again praising Chuy's . I know I have badmouthed them once , but they could have just been having a bad night back then. Used them this month, August 2023. Had a bunch of family and friends in and when that happens and you need food you call someone dependable, close to home, and who offers lots of delicious food. They did not disappoint. The fajitas, two big orders of the mixed, fantastic as usual, the taco package, Delicioso., and their chips to die for. All the sauces and guacamole and extras we all wanted did not go to waste...that's for sure. Needless to say there are no Chuy's close to where these folks live so they were excited when this big order was delivered. Thank you so much and RIP Mike Young.

The service is so good I got my food less then 15 minutes love the Texmex food definitely recommend

Food service tonight not the greatest usually chewies has great food service, but our waitress was missing in action most of the time. (husband) got chicken tacos and the meat was stone cold. Ordered sweet tea, and it was a sweet tea, then asked for some sugar which took forever to get Had been to the 183 location in quite some time it was really looking forward to it

Food is okay. We come here for the drinks. Definitely no the best text mex around.

Chuy's is THE place to try Tex-Méx food in Austin. My 10 year old loved the food here and we always order their burritos and enchiladas. Their boom boom sauce is out of this world. Their serve their complimentary chips with salsa and cheese sauce and they are equally good. I love how they pay homage to Elvis Presley at their locations and their decor is very different and makes it one of a kind. The restaurant is always packed and there's usually a 20-30min wait time but the service is always friendly and they are usually on time when serving food.

You need to try the queso here! They keep bringing you chips and you fill up on chills and queso! The portions here is huge so I highly recommend sharing a plate with 2-3 people.

Expect extreme inefficiency if you're placing a pickup order here. Time after time, your order is guaranteed to come out late and you will be waiting in line for them to even acknowledge you anywhere from 10-20 minutes

We usually have a great time at chuys. However, we just had a less stellar experience with some sub par service. The server did not seem to have respect for our food. For example, the server awkwardly carried a martini shaker, martini glass and a thing of tortillas clumped against her chest. I didnt feel this was sanitary and could tell she was spilling the drink on the way over. She knew it spilled as well and she laughed it off. But I was a little upset as I paid for a full beverage too. Service felt generally slow and the server didnt seem to feel any need to hustle to make missing food or cold food or untimely beverages right. I love chuys, please dont encourage this behavior.

Came here for a team lunch while visiting Austin for work. This is a Texmex chain. We sat out on the patio and the area was average, not that clean but standard for a chain restaurant. The food was also average. I ordered a Cobb salad since I was saving room for bbq that night. I asked for no cheese and the server wrote it down on the check, but I still got cheese in my salad and had to pick it out. Overall, I'd only come back if someone else was hosting and invited me.

Our server was excellent. The chips were fabulous and the skinny margarita needs a little tweeting to make it worth the $$$.
