We sat outside on the pavement and really loved the food - my friend a Feta salad and I had a delicious risotto with asparagus, cream of zucchini, sundried tomatoes, stracciatella di mozzarella di bufala cheese. Unfortunately we had to renounce a glass of wine which would have rounded up the risotto perfectly. The place was also excellent for watching passers by, something I enjoy very much! And last but not least the prices were very reasonable for having a view of the Spanish steps!! Absolutely recommendable!

Overall not a bad restaurant. We took the specials of the day. But I was very surprised that simple water in a carafe is paid and bread. And nothing of this did not order, it is automatically put on the table, so we expected that it is a welcome bonus. The food is very ordinary.

Google
The food was delicious, i ordered the Pesto. But the service was horrible, the waiter with glasses gives a really bad service and makes you wait a lot of time because he prefers to attended locals instead of tourists, if you don’t speak italian don’t come here the service is going to be bad but the food delicious. Also they are going to charge you for everything. We waited 30 min for the check and when the waiter with glasses came with it he charged us a beer we never ordered, honestly if you are a restaurant that want to serves tourists you have to improve a lot on costumer service.

Google
Very charming place to have lunch outdoors, manager and staff in charge were very friendly and helpful, will definitely come back. And the price we spent was 30 euro per pax inclusive of dessert and coffee so it was very reasonable. Thank you so much!

Google
Came here on a previous trip and had the best carbonara, returned and it held up! Everything was delicious, the room is lovely and the Negroni excellent. Becoming a must visit when coming to Rome

Google
It was a pleasant experience! The food was delicious and the size of the servings was big enough! The lasagna cacio pepe was very different and tasty! The service was nice and at a good pace! There is an outside area (no ombrellone though) and the inside seems very traditional.

Google
Our landlady recommended us this place - it was where most local come to dine. Ordered tomato pasta and cheese & pepper pasta, and also an omelette. Service was stretched a bit but still friendly. Price was reasonable for this area - worth a try!

Lovely space with good service. The spinach soup and lasagna were delicious!! Salad was okay. Certainly a beautiful space to grab a drink.

Yelp
We found this pizza place ahead of our busy day of seeing the Pantheon and Colloseum and were not disappointed! Seating: indoor and outdoor options. It was over 95 degrees so we opted for indoor seating. It's a small place, so you take what you can get! Most folks eating here seemed to be tourists, but we didn't mind given the high ratings. We did notice a local family eating here though, so that was a good sign! Service: they were attentive in the beginning to get our orders. However, after getting our starter, it probably took 20-30 minutes for our actual pizza to come out. We also asked for a soda mid meal and they forgot about it, so we had to remind the other waiter. When it came time for payment, the one waiter entered in the price of our meal and when it came to the tip screen, he made a comment that we could tip but is not required. My BF wasn't going to, but the waiter seemed to want one based on the comment and given his watchful eye, my BF basically felt pressured to put something down. We suspect this is the trick for when they notice the Americans eating here... Food: the prosciutto on the thing crust focaccia was unreal!! I enjoyed this so much on a hot day. It was so refreshing and a different take to having prosciutto that I will be replicating when I get home. Something I noticed (and you can see in the photo) was the drizzling of olive oil on top. It made it perfect! The diavolo was equally as good, though it was quite greasy. Definitely something that 2 people can share for lunch. Maybe for dinner it's could be a single serving. Overall, the food was great with friendly staff. The slow service and the watchful eye of the waiters when it came time for "optional tipping" caused this rating to go from a 5 to a 4.

Yelp
If you are visiting the Spanish Steps, skip some of the touristy places, and walk about 4 blocks straight down the street to this joint. The pizza was top notch, even among all of the great pizza in Rome. My wife called their lasagne, the best lasagne of her life. The kids really enjoyed their pasta too. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Their English was much better than my Italian, but communication was no problem. Pro tip: save room for dessert. The have excellent gelato and tiramisu.

Yelp
Great ambiance sitting outside and having appertivo. Pizza was only okay but caprese salad was delicious

Yelp
Food was Excellent. Mussels & clams, Lasagna & gelato dessert. Very enjoyable. Small intimate dining

Yelp
Lovely setting but tourist trap. Food is mediocre and service is somewhat chilly, especially to Americans. (And we are not loud Americans.). They said tables with a view were reserved but in the over an hour we were there only 1 party arrived, leaving the tables with a view empty the entire time. Plenty of better restaurants. Sea bass with zucchini crust was good, as was the amatriciana, eggplants balls ok, Ciampini salad gross (way too much mustard), and Steak Tartare below par. They wanted a tip at the end too.

Yelp
When in Rome remember three things: pasta, pizza, and Peroni. We spent our last day in Rome shopping and found the Ciampini on the street leading to the Spanish Steps. We ate outside on the sidewalk tables. Pasta was excellent and finished the meal with Expresso and Tirimisu. It was a great ending to the day for us. We highly recommend this restaurant. They also were great in accommodating our daughter in a wheelchair.

Yelp
The extra star is for the wonderful waiter we had, he was smart, he was prompt and most importantly he made an effort to communicate even though we did not speak the same language. He was just wonderful. The food was so so and the ambiance was interesting, you won't be disappointed if you stop for a bite here.

Yelp
Solid pizza decent service. I would visit again. Pizza was favorable and tasty. The crust was light (thin crust).

Yelp
We found this place after a day of shopping in the area. They have a great patio on the street with friendly english speaking waiting staff. I had the Alla Bolognese which was decent, but nothing amazing. The Pizza however is the star here and is what I would recommend. A very thin crusted, authentic Italian pizza. We first ordered the Quantro pizza and then followed up with another Marghertia once we started eating and realized how good it was. Another good sign seeing some locals coming for take out pizza throughout the night we were there.

Yelp
This bar/restaurant was a pleasant, random find during our strolls in Roma. We just needed a break from walking so we didn't order food. Although we just ordered beverages, we felt very welcome which would not be the case usually at any american bar. Not only did the waiter not make us feel uncomfortable for ordering just drinks, but he also brought out complimentary small bites (pizza) and pistachios. The people watching, and views of the spanish steps, rounded out this experience to be a superb one.

Yelp
My friends ate here and thought it was great. I had Spaghetti Carbonara and it was OK but nothing to rave about; it also was not spaghetti but rigatoni- do not remember if it was listed as such on the menu. My wife had grilled chicken which was unlike any grilled chicken I've seen - thin strips of chicken sautéed that looked more like bacon strips than chicken. She did not like it. Maybe the pizzas are a better choice- I would not return based on what we had. However the service is prompt and friendly.

Yelp
I came here for Gelato and coffee. It was pretty good gelato. Very packed though. I got dark chocolate and it was very chocolatey. Mixed up my order though.

Yelp
This bistro offers a changing daily menu with fresh pastas that are simple and flavoursome and a selection of desserts. Have a look at the display case to see what's on offer to tempt you. Lovely spot to while away a few hours and people watch. Slightly expensive but given the location and lovely decor it's fair.

Barak H.

Yelp
Quite expensive, but reasonable, considering the location (next to the Spanish steps). Pizza was tasty, Spaghetti Carbonara was so-so. Friendly and English speaking staff.

Yelp
Great place for pastas. We were seated by the owner. The staff speak English well. Great wine list and food menu. The place where locals go. Very genuine.

Shideh B.

Yelp
Very ordinary. Not bad. Not noteworthy. Friendly. Better for coffee and pastries. I guess location is everything and this is in the heart of the Spanish Steps shopping area.

Yelp
My friend and I stumbled upon this restaurant and so glad we did!! The food was so delicious, we went back the last night. It's a tiny bistro where you sit closely with other patrons and can overhear conversations. We had the Margarita pizza and pasta dishes and 2 white wines and couldn't believe our tastebuds. Wait staff were wonderful. The second time we went it was Valentine's Day so it was super busy. Our waiter was a busy bee, but gracious. We wound up having a 2nd pizza (ham and olives) and once again not disappointed. Highly recommend after a long day walking through Rome and in need of a delicious meal.

Yelp
I really enjoyed sitting outside this lovely restaurant and watching Rome go by. The sun was shining, the waiter was friendly and the vibe was relaxed. What more could you want? Oh, the food was good too. I ate the House salad which was huge, and my husband had a buffalo pizza, although not in the Roman style, was delicious non the less. My fresh juice was gorgeous. Can recommend Ciampini bistro as a lovely people watching spot if you are in the area.

Yelp
Wonderful food & very good service. 5 of us are here and all loved it (hard to get everyone happy sometimes). Great spot if you are shopping nearby and need a break.

Yelp
After a long afternoon sightseeing, we stumbled upon this wonderful bistro!!!! What a find! The location, service and food were superb! We had complimentary olives, pistachios and mini slices of pizza. The lasagna was nothing like back in the USA..,light and tasty. We dined outside looking and enjoying the view of the Spanish Steps. We definitely recommend it!

Yelp
Food quality was decent but everything else was a disaster. At the table we ordered 2 sandwiches and two pizzas with cotto and mozzarella. I asked for a big bottle of water and instead we received half a bottle. After waiting an enormous amount of time we were first given the sandwiches. The waiter on the floor and the one on the counter were having an argument and exchanging compliments while the pizzas were getting cold on the counter. While waiting I also ordered a club sandwich hoping that it would have come quickly, no chance. At some point the manager also joined the argument and started telling off the waiter at the counter. Everything that was served was tiny. The bill was 27.5EUR with the microscopic club sandwich costing 7EUR.
