Hotel Ciasa Salares (San Cassiano, Alps / Dolomites) 5 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"If any place on Earth is impervious to trendiness, it’s the Dolomites, a stronghold of traditional Alpine culture. It’s one of the last places where you say “old-fashioned” with reverence and “rustic” without affectation. For three generations and counting, the Wieser family has been keeping that tradition alive at Hotel Ciasa Salares, an ode in rich timber and textile to the region’s venerable Ladin culture. Don’t come here for sleek minimalism; revel instead in the timeworn naturalism, an unshakeably pure mountain identity." - Tablet Hotels

Giving 5-star because there is no 10. Luxury boutique hotel with great amenities, e.g., pool, sauna (dry, steam), IR room, Turkish bath, hot tub, & massage room. Awesome 4 restaurants and bars on site. On site breakfast was fresh with cook to order with variety of delicious fresh options. Super welcoming staff, helpful and service. Great location with walking trails, and close to ski /hike resorts with cable cars. Room was relatively small but still efficient with amazing balcony and view. Highly recommending this place.

What an amazing place. Stunning location and a beautiful hotel with a great spa. What really made our stay extra special were the incredible staff. They were so attentive and welcoming. The food was fantastic as well, we really enjoyed the breakfast. Location is good for hikes and the free shuttle bus is good. We had an afternoon of relaxing and enjoying the swimming pool, sauna and Turkish bath.

We had been looking forward to repeating the success of last year's stay at the Hotel Ciasa Salares. Unfortunately, it was not a success. Like last year, we chose half board, which included breakfast and a 3-course menu plus a salad buffet as a starter and then dessert. The food was not at all up to par with last year. We were served medium-sized dishes on very large plates that were not tasty at all. It was like a show every night, but the excitement remained. The salad table, like the breakfast buffet, was not replenished. You had to come early to get the large selection. The dessert was shrunk compared to last year. The service in the restaurant was top notch. The food was the problem. We had a suite with a view of the mountains. A breathtaking view, no doubt about it. The decor of the suite was nothing special at all. In the very small living room there were 2 deep chairs with a coffee table. Nowhere could you comfortably open your laptop and grab what you needed to do. It was our big mistake to choose Hotel Ciasa Salares again this year.

Recently spent two wonderful nights at Ciasa Salares. The room was lovely, the view was spectacular and the food was great, but it was the service that really set this hotel apart. Nothing felt like too much trouble and the staff were so keen to help whatever the issue! This makes a perfect base for exploring the Dolomites.

My family and I had a sensational stay at Ciasa Salares. The staff in the hotel were outstanding, extremely helpful, and very welcoming. The hotel is a little tucked away by itself but the shuttle ride or short walk to the slopes was very easy. We had a couple of nights at the Gardena Grodnerhof at Val Gardena after we left. This was a bit more upmarket but at times felt a bit overwhelming (though the village and spa there were really nice). I think I'd be more likely to return to Ciasa Salares because of the lovely staff and easier access to the slopes. One suggestion I would make is that one or two a la carte options at dinner would have been appreciated (the food was very good but some nights a simpler option would have been nice). ||One problem we did have on the trip is that we were recommended to book ski lessons with Scuola Sci Cassiano. The school accepted our payment but when we arrived we were told there were no suitable classes. Nearly two months later I still haven't received a refund and have lost about 1,000 euros. This is no fault of the hotel but I'm just passing on so that other guests may be advised to try somewhere else or pay after their classes start. But this aside it was a wonderful stay.

This review is for the remarkable experience we share in the wine cellar. We had the pleasure of enjoying the Nide cheese room, the Nodla chocolate room and an evening with Clemens on a wine adventure to remember. Bravo, this place is a must.

The team at Ciasa Salares are absolutely amazing. So friendly and will do anything they can to make your stay as pleasant as possible. The hotel is very comfortable, food is great, the wine cellar and restaurant amazing but really it’s the staff that make it a special place. Thank you for a great week!

Yelp
We had a wonderful 4 days at Ciasa Salares. The staff were so helpful and friendly. The wine cellar for a fondue is a must! With their huge selection of wine and the cosy setting (need to book in advance). The rooms were comfortable and the spa was fantastic. It took two hours to drive from Innsbruck (very easy) and you can walk across the road and get straight onto the drag lift which then links you into the main ski area. We hope to go back next year!
