Cibreo Italian Kitchen

This is my second time at Cibreo. I had a reservation. We were seated quickly. However, both times the wait has been very long to get our food.. This time we were not in a hurry as we came after our show. The bread was good...last time we had breadsticks and foccacia bread but this time only the foccacia bread was served. They serve it with butter oil and a pesto type mix. We ordered two dishes. My cousin had the chicken parmesan with spaghetti and she said it was very good. I had the chicken piccata with no kale and instead of potatoes I added spaghetti with mine. I really enjoyed it. The only drinks we had were diet coke and ice tea. Everything was great until the dessert. We ordered the Zeppoli's. Last time I had them they were delicious. This time they came out totally burnt and you didn't see the burnt area because there is so much powdered sugar on there. I was really disappointed that the cook sent it out that way. Certainly he could see that he burned the dough. So we sent it back and had them remove it from our bill. Had we not waited so long we would have gotten another order. I have 4 more bookings for this restaurant in the upcoming months. Our server Angela or Angelina was excellent. But she can't make the cook get things prepared faster. I hope things will be a little speedier next time we come.

Good experience prior to a playhouse show. Reservations are a must it looked like and glad we had them. Service was friendly and we had good food and drinks. Will definitely make plans again for a future visit. Tiramisu was huge for dessert and we could have easily split it.

A nice place to eat in Playhouse square! For starters, the ambiance is very nice. I enjoyed the “rustic” Italian setting. The bread was super nice and the pesto that comes with it is delicious! The bruschetta was also really good. The tomatoes were super fresh and the balsamic glaze was a nice touch. The portion sizes for the meals are quite large and would definitely fill you up. Everyone liked their main course, however the only recommendation was that the Alfredo needed quite a bit more sauce. Overall, I think it’s a decent Italian spot downtown.

5/5 for great decor and atmosphere (see photo). Appetizers calamari and meatballs were perfect and delicious. There were only 2 meatballs but there was enough calamari for the four of us to have a little snack, wanting more. The appetizers worked well; we were all hungry and eagerly anticipating our entrée choices. Two of us ordered the lasagna, one chicken piccata and one chicken marsala. The portion size was good - both chicken dishes had two nice, full-sized breasts. This was honestly the worst lasagna I've ever had in my life; Chris agreed. It was so dry (and devoid of ingredients between the layers) that I had to ask for an extra serving of marinara just to moisten everything and I only ate half of it because I just couldn't. I was in the mood for "good" lasagna, so I was extremely disappointed. Mary agreed with Scott's assessment: "It was good but not great. Nice presentation, though. It wasn't as good as I would have expected for the price." My "Thyme on Broadway" bourbon drink with what was supposed to be a sprig of thyme would have been better if they actually used a fresh sprig of thyme. If this was even thyme, it was long over the hill and had zero aroma. Overall it was an ok bourbon/campari drink, but the thyme was the point; otherwise I would have ordered an Old Fashioned, which I did for my second drink, and it was okay. However, our server didn't know the bourbon list, which is a criminal offense in my country. Our server also had a disgusting froth of saliva around the corners of his mouth. WHAAAAT??? Yes, seriously , it was stomach-turning, and maybe he's really the nicest guy in the world, but he was also so smarmy it bordered on creepy and was a bit surreal, like a character out of a Terry Gilliam movie. I'm not sure if this is a defense or an excuse - or a warning - but our server volunteered that Cibreo had been having personnel problems and they actually had to hire staff from another restaurant... or something like that. It was his assistant's first day on the job. That sure sounds like there was some sort of mass exodus, but who knows? These kinds of personnel walkout/retention problems are usually related to unacceptably bad management, and if the quality of the food is any indication of that, this restaurant won't be around long. Too bad, because it's in a perfect location, well-laid out floor plan with lots of tables and rooms for private dinners and great atmosphere. We had debated going to Sittoo's across the street, because Lebanese also sounded good, but I wasn't in the mood for counter-serve. Maybe next time. But I won't be going back to Cibreo, nor recommending it. .

this was abominable. We came in at 7 ish on a Saturday night and it was mostly empty which should’ve been the first red flag. The server let us know that the crowd had just left for the 7pm show at the theater down the road. So not sure why it took SO long for drinks and then also food. This picture is literally how my plate came out.. I think the cutlet was deep fried, the 2 bites of spaghetti were cold and kind of flavorless. You can see the cheese on top was also old and cold. It was $57 for a martini and this plate. Couldn’t pay me to come back.

All of our meals were delicious! I had the chicken parmesan and it was fresh & perfect. Table bread with butter and oil was so good! Good service, pretty venue & directly across from the Mimi Ohio theatre!

my date & i absolutely loved cibero. walt, the bartender & our server, was funny, attentive & incredibly kind. he also made me an amazing martini per my requests. i had the alfredo with broccolini & my date had the chicken parmesan with their veal meatballs. we both enjoyed our meals + the complimentary table bread & oil. thanks for the 5 star service <3

The place is beautiful and convenient to the theatre district, but the positives stop there. Food was terrible and service was slow. I am happy to pay good money for good food, but this was way overpriced food. My date had chicken Parmesan and I had eggplant Parmesan. Chicken Parm had no flavor, Eggplant Parm would have basically been spaghetti with a side of eggplant. The sauce tasted like pizza sauce. The bread for the table was good, but that’s about it. I would avoid any restaurant operated by the Driftwood hospitality group. We also had a similar experience at Republic food and drink owned by the same group.

Hours are short, 4 to 8 p.m. Located across from Playhouse Square the crowd comes before the shows. Recommend a reservation. We loved everything about Cibreo. The atmosphere is warm and romantic. We loved the decor. Our waiter, Watson, was wonderful. He knew the menu, was professional and chatted a bit. The kitchen makes GF pasta! My friend said it was cooked perfectly and delicious. Portions were good sized so come hungry. We liked being seated up front near the window. Valet parking is across the street. There are also garages and on-street parking. Give yourself plenty of time. Handicapped accessible. Enjoy!

Nice quiet intimate place. I was a lil upset that we didn't offered Parmesan cheese like the couple next to us.... Food ok a lil dry I asked for extra sauce thank goodness but it came out more like soup lol Bathroom clean the older lady a host was very polite

Unfortunately, this may be my last visit to Cibreo. We have had tickets to the Broadway series at Playhouse Square for 30 years. We frequently go to.Cibreo's for dinner before hand. However, Thursday night was the worst. I we sat at the bar as we usually do. I will compliment the bartender and the calamari appetizer. However, the chicken marsala was anything, but! It was a dry overcooked hockey puck on a small bed of sauce with no mushroom or taste. It tasted like burnt gravy. In addition, they ran out of bread. Which could happen I suppose. However, we watched as bread was being served to side tables in the bar.

Update: stopped in again before a play. Different bartender; same experience. Took a long time to get acknowledged let alone served a drink. I noticed it with all new guests that sat down. Had apps and split the shrimp tortellini which was really good. What bothered us the most was looking at the mess up and down the bar. I know it's crunch time w checking people out before the play - but it doesn't take much time to pull a dish and put it under the bar. Just not enticing when you're eating dinner. Pics attached.

Came here before seeing Hairspray at the Connor theater. We had 5:45 reservations for 8 people. We let our server Watson know we were going to the 7:30 show. No problem. We had cocktails starters and coffee and plenty of time to walk across the street. This was a lovely restaurant decorated nicely. They have a lovely bar and an entrance from the back We parked at 17 th and prospect and it was all very convenient. The old fashion was nicely done. My husband and I so,it the banana peppers and eggplant parmigiana. They brought two plates with the meal split. Perfect. We would've had leftovers otherwise so it was just right. Really great venue for a group before the show ! Definitely will be back. Watson was awesome too!

Really good experience, wonderful atmosphere and our waitress was very friendly. I had the Cibreo bolognese which has great flavor (noodles were a little over cooked) and my wife had the Cod piccata (larger purple potatoes were a little under and hard) and she loved it. The fish was cooked really well and still crispy even with the sauce. The oil/pesto/butter with bread they provide at the start was amazing. We will definitely go again.

The food was amazing and the bread was light and fluffy. The food was prepared in a short period of time. The waiters were nice and never rushed us while ordering.

Everything was really bad except the waitress was really nice and the marinara spaghetti was amazing. Do not get Alfredo pasta, it is very very bland. The ambience is nice, but the wait time for the food is wayyyyy too long. 4 pastas shouldn't take over an hour to make. If you're vegetarian, I don't recommend this place.

I have driven past this place so many times it's kind of ridiculous. A friend and I came here after work for dinner. The atmosphere is intimate and it was dim but not too dim. We started off with the bruschetta which was fine. We got a caesar salad to split and I went with the chicken marsala. The chicken with the sauce were very tasty and the polenta was also lovely and well paired. Our server was lovely and attentive without being overbearing. The prices were a bit pricey but it's downtown so take that as you will. We had a great time.

Went before a 7:30 showtime with reservations at 6pm, we weren't greeted until about 6:20. Our waiter was also the bartender which was not ideal. We put all our food/drinks in at once but we still didn't have our meals by 6:45. The hostess assured us multiple times our food was "coming soon" and that she was "hurrying it along" but around 6:50 we decided to just pay for our appetizer and drinks and had soft pretzels at the theatre:( Scarfing down a $27 Bolognese in 10 minutes isn't really the vibe we were going for. drinks were okay, the bruschetta had a really strong raw garlic flavor which we didn't like. It was $50 for two cocktails and an appetizer, which is expected from a nicer restaurant but the service and the food we did get wasn't great. They have an option on their reservation portal to let them know you have show tickets, but it didn't seem like that really made a difference. Overall really disappointing experience.

Okay good, but weird atmosphere. The decor is very early 2000's Tuscan Italian which is dated in todays time. Definitely would appeal to an older generation but would hardly consider this a posh Italian restaurant. It is on the threshold of being considered fine dining. The service was okay, our waitress was attentive but I noticed some unprofessional waitstaff. Some were yelling across the restaurant to the bar looking for a guy named Andrew. There was also a taller bald gentleman on the wait staff who was very very poorly dressed. Dress shirt was untucked, messy unkempt beard and his tie was hardly considered presentable. We came at 6:00 on a Sunday and towards the end of dinner it felt like they were rushing everyone to finish up so they could leave early. The menu was quite simple which was nice, we ordered the Chicken Parmesan and Chicken Piccata and it was just okay. Better than Olive Garden Italian but hardly would consider great Italian. It was simple not sophisticated. Overall I struggle to see how this restaurant is rated $$$ and would likely go elsewhere next time.

Stopped in for dinner before a show at Connor Palace. Ordered the Italian salad and chicken piccata. The salad was drenched in what seemed like bottled salad dressing. The waiter did notice and this was removed from our bill. Chicken piccata was dry and honestly seemed like yesterday's meal warmed in a microwave. Coffee did not seem fresh brewed and was foamy and luke warm... most likely from an expresso machine. We will be back to see another show but will be carefully reading reviews to make a better dinner selection. With a little effort the meal could be improved. The restaurant atmosphere is nice and location is perfect for theater goers.

Our waitress messed up the orders, one of which couldn't even be eaten. When Manager was called he advised that on Broadway nights the kitchen won't adjust an order the entrees are as is. This would have been fine if waitress had told my friend that instead of bringing a meal she couldn't eat. They made no accommodation for any of this. 3 of us ordered the Bolognese and it was watery and had no flavor. I would never recommend going here.

Have been here twice now and always before seeing a show. Staff is great at giving you full and efficient service, always getting you out in time for curtain call. Shrimp tortellini was very rich and the favorite of our table. They split the eggplant parm for us and the portion was perfect.

What Italian restaurant runs out of lasagna at 6:30 at night when they are reservations only so they know how many people they are expecting?? Once we got our food it was like warm at best. Will not return or recommend. Also only one 2 stall ladies room for large venue. Long lines.

Ambiance was wonderful. Service was good. Drinks were very good. Three of the meals were delicious and enjoyed by the individuals who ordered. Two of us were disappointed in the Eggplant Parmasean. It should have been listed on the menu as a bowl of paste with Eggplant Parmasean as a side. I have ordered Eggplant Parmasean many times over the years and it is quite filling. Usually the spaghetti is a side. This meal was actually a bowl of spaghetti with two small slices of eggplant on the top Although the eggplant was good, it simply was not enough to call it a dinner.

Cibreo is a perfect place to visit before a night out at the Playhouse Theatre. The atmosphere is elegant but casual, and the service is great. The location is directly across the street from the theaters, and the food is well-proportioned I highly recommend the stuffed peppers and the Fritto Misto appetizers. Yum! I do have to warn you. You should make your reservations early if you plan to visit the restaurant before show times at the Playhouse. The restaurant fills up fast right before the shows and most people already have a reservation.

Excellent option for a group dinner ahead of an event at Playhouse Square. We made a 5:00p reservation for a party of six and the restaurant was full by 5:30p, 6:00p. Pleasant atmosphere and lighting. Server was polite and efficient, but not terribly social or friendly. Food around the table was outstanding, including the tiramisu, although my chicken parmesan was a bit overcooked. Total bill for two entrees, a glass of wine, a shared dessert, and tip was $92.

Came here for dinner before watching a show. Service staff were nice and attentive. We got bread with a great pesto dip and butter. Really enjoyed the appetizers. We got the bruschetta and mozzarella sticks. The marinara sauce was flavorful. The bolognese was hearty and good potion size. The salad and the saffron rice was a letdown. Also wasn't too impressed with their take on the tiramisu for dessert. Overall, glad I came to try it out but was a mediocre experience for me.

Cibreo was good, but not great. Not sure if it was the emptiness on a Sunday night, the attempted classy but borderline tacky decor, or the semi-slow service, but I just didn't find this restaurant super exciting. Reminded my party of 4 of an upgraded Olive Garden. That being said, I did enjoy the food. We started the meal with some complimentary warm bread and pesto, which was delicious. We then split the arancini and meatballs as an appetizer, then I got the carbonara. Dessert was yummy tiramisu and fun zeppoli, or fried dough balls with delicious dipping sauce. I was happy with all of my food, but not blown away. A huge plus was that Cibreo was offering by far the best restaurant week deal, which is how we chose it. 2 three course meals for $40, and it was worth it. Overall this was a good meal, especially for the price, and worth checking out if you're interested. I'd be hopeful that Cibreo is more fun on a Friday or Saturday night when downtown Cleveland is a little more bumpin.

This is a wonderful place!!! Lots of good Italian food to choose from!!! There's ravioli, tortellini, chicken piccata and more! Nice dessert menu, too. Tiramisu and spumoni ice cream to name a few!! The service was fantastic! Nice atmosphere! Great for a date night or celebration !

Came at 4:25 pm after the Christmas POPS concert. Only few in restaurant. Waitress was not personable; We did have a Frito Misto appetizer with disappointing baby shrimp and 3 pieces of calamari. Our main meal was served at 5:20 after we asked where our food was. Food was tasty but nothing that gave us a wow this is delicious feeling. As I am visiting from CA, we were disappointed as we had hoped for a better experience- primarily with definitely with better service.

A beautiful restaurant! Loved the decor. Our server was very friendly and very good. Attentive but didn't hover. He recommended the Salmon when I was undecided between it and another dish. He also assisted us with our wine choice (and no, it wasn't the most expensive one!) which we appreciated. He was aware we had theatre reservations and was prompt but didn't rush us. The food was excellent. My salmon was cooked to perfection. Others in our group had the cheese ravioli in Bolognese and said it was very good. I thought the prices were ok for this type of restaurant and today's world.

This place is always a treat! It is in a great location downtown especially if you are attending a show, but make sure you call and make reservations ahead of time as it is difficult to get in especially on the weekends. The food options are good, yet most seem a bit small. We enjoy the appetizers and pastas. The bolognese and chicken parm has been our favorites so far. (We have been here multiple times and twice my chicken has been over cooked on the chicken Parmesan, to where the edges were burnt. That is the reason for the 4 stars) This is a nice place with elegant atmosphere and the service has always been very prompt, helpful and courteous.

If you are looking for classic Italian food and atmosphere then this is NOT the place to go. We had a snooty server/bartender who would hardly acknowledge us and gave us attitude when we asked about prices for wine. Although he did treat us with more respect once me noticed my boyfriend was an Amex card holder. Portions were small and insanely overpriced. Will not be going here again.

We loved our dinner at Cibreo last night. From the moment we walked in and was greeted by the host, you could tell this was going to be good. We we were seated right away, our server was great - friendly and helpful. Ordered drinks and the meatball app. The meatballs were excellent - tender with great flavor. Enjoyed the "Broadway Manhattan" too. I ordered the Cibreo bolognese and it was delicious. My wife has the eggplant parm and she loved it. Ended dinner with fried dough! Awesome place.

I ordered a saltimbocca and it was a pork loin wrapped in prosciutto with sage, pinot grigio, and a side of polenta with braised kale. They also provided me with 3 pieces of their delicious bread with a small container of butter and herbs and oil. It was absolutely delicious. Let me start by saying I've eaten here at Cibreo's several times and I've always been extremely satisfied with the food. Yesterday I ordered it to go. The food was ready when I arrived there. It's a beautiful restaurant and I loved seeing it decorated for the holidays. The staff is always kind and pleasant to talk to. The dinner menu is a little pricey but the food is really good. This restaurant is directly across the street from Playhouse Square. So if you are coming down to see a play and are looking for a beautiful atmosphere and amazing food, you should come and give it a try.

Our dinner was and seemed over-cooked, and the bread..."just coming out of the oven..." was cold. For the price...not all that good. Service was simply awful. Nearly missed our show, and they tried to blame it on us for "being late for our reservation" even though we arrived EARLY for our reservations. And the server was informed of our show time when we were seated. So we waiting for over an hour.... Ambiance? ok There are many other places to dine with better service and food.

Arrived at 5:15 before the pre theater group gathered. Friendly waitress. Ordered food before the theater crowd came in. Waited too long for our meal as tables around us who came in and ordered after us were served and paid their bills. My friend's pasta was overcooked. It was obvious that my meal had been sitting in the kitchen for a long time. Cold chicken Marsala with a hardened mushroom sauce, cold sticky polenta and undercooked asparagus. All of it overpriced. Nice young waitresses polite to us but who obviously preferred and favored the younger crowd. It was served late so we needed to rush to the show across the street. Bill took ages to get to us...and even longer to process- even though the crowd was gone by then. I'll never be back. Avoid this place at any cost...unless you enjoy indigestion and stress before you see a show. One of my worst Italian restaurant experiences in Northeast Ohio. Eat fast food instead of coming to Cibrero's. Wish I'd been spared this terrible meal that helped give me indigestion during the theater experience that followed. What a disappointment!

Specialty risotto was amazing and manhattans were delicious. It was a pleasure to dine in a restaurant which had a quieter atmosphere and friendly and attentive staff.

My wife and I had never been to Cibreo before, so this was a virgin venture. Our server was Sean who a gem of welcome and friendliness. For me, whenever experiencing a new restaurant, the best test is not to pick out items on the menu that any "cook" can make, rather something that only a real "chef" would not screw up. We chose "calamari fritti" and "Tuscan braised beef". We'll get back to that in a moment, but first, let's get through the doors again! Cibreo receives a '5' rating for a very simple reason. If it is an ethnic restaurant, does it capture the mood of the country it purports to represent? Cibreo has an Italian atmosphere. It feels Tuscan and looks Tuscan. Cibreo represents Central Italy. It reminds me of Tuscany and Florence. Sticking to a narrowed menu, it seems as though the notion is cook it well. The calamari fritti was tender and lightly crunchy. Browned to a gold, it dipped into a perfect blend in the gently vinegared dip. Yum! Gnam a cuesto'uomo! Finally, test two. The Tuscan braised beef was fork-cutting tender with a luscious sauce while blended nicely with the polenta and spears of asparagus. Don't just take my word. Go to Cibreo and you'll see that I told you the truth,the whole truth and nothing but the truth! Arrivederci, Dr. Reg S.

Delicious! Great service and they were quick to get us our food before our show. Wonderful ambiance!

I am not a vicious person and am always ready to give a place the benefit of the doubt, but if one is going to open a restaurant, be prepared. Somewhere, this place fell short in so many ways. Prices were way higher for what they offered. The only positive thing was the wine. The offerings were very small and very sub-par. Italian cuisine is among the best in the world. Someone should tell Cibreo's about ingredients, flavor and presentation. Restaurant prices are higher after the pandemic but a good value is not incomparable to higher prices. I can name several local Italian restaurants that are way above Cobreo's in all the ways I have mentioned. Don't waste your money here.

AMAZING!!! From the moment we stepped into our private room with our group of 17 to celebrate our staff party to the time we left it was perfect!! Our waitresses Kyarra and Rina were OUTSTANDING and made the whole experience absolutely delightful!!! The food was absolutely delicious from the appetizers to the main course and the scrumptious desserts !! This was our first time here and we will DEFINITELY be back!!! Thank you Cibreo for making our experience PERFECT!!!

Very disappointed in my recent dinner there. Nice ambiance and pretty quick service but disappointed overall in the food. The bread is nothing special, $11 for a side salad was overpriced, the chicken piccata was very good once we ordered extra sauce since it was presented with almost none and enjoyed the potatoes and kale it was served with. Also split an order of pasta bologbese which was the worse sauce I have ever had and we order bolognese frequently at various restaurants. It actually reminded me of Chef Boy-ar-dee which I would eat when I was 8 years old. Overall, I would not go back to this restaurant.

We had a reservation for Cibreo Italian Kitchen before heading to see a play at The Playhouse. The restaurant not only had you feeling you were in Italy, but it was convenient as well, we were able to walk across the street to the theatre after dinner. The service was professional and outstanding. Our drinks and food were to die for! We started out with soup and salad, I had the sausage and bean soup which was flavorful, my husband's salad was fresh, my chicken piccata was delicious and my husband's filet was cooked perfect! We highly recommend going here and we will be back!

I have gone to Cibreo multiple times with family and friends over the last couple of years. We usually go before the theatre since it is right across the street from Playouse. When it comes to the service, it truly is a hit or miss. They have booths in the bar area which we usually sit and so we have had a mixture of bartenders/waiters wait on us. Some have been absolutely amazing, and some, like our last waiter, wasn't the best. Slow at getting our drinks. Slightly rude. The whole shabang. However, the food is always delicious! There has only been one time we had to send back our food because it was cold. They apologized and gave us free dessert, so that was nice of them! I usually get pasta (since it is an italian restuarant) but their steak and burgers are also delicious as well. When it comes to getting the best experience, I highly recommend sitting in the bar area. It is a totally different feel and atmosphere then the rest of the area but if you are looking for a place for a larger dinner party, then there is plenty of room here, without feeling crowded. Two things to note though. PARKING: There is valet, but it is kind of hard to get to because they're doing construction right next door. There is a lot on E 13th that only a block away (easy to walk to) and it is the best priced one around ($10 is the most I've ever spent there). RESERVATIONS: Always make a reservation far in advanced. This place I swear is always booked up. I'm talking even farther out then a month. But if you are in the area, there sometimes is open seating at the actual bar which is full service.

We ate here recently before a play. When seated, they asked if we had a play. We said yes, placed our order, and then waited a hour for our food. We had to eat very fast and the food was cold. We were starving and had a play to get to, so we ate it. We won't be bat.

The Porcini Truffle Ravioli was fantastic. The cozy vibes are great too. Always enjoy going there before any snow at Playhouse.

i'm sorry- convenience does not trump terrible service and mediocre food. I know it's so nice that this restaurant is across the street from playhouse, but it's a waste of money. 1. Our server was a bitch. i'm sorry for the language, but the way she looked at me from the second we sat down ESPECIALLY when we said we weren't ordering drinks felt like we were an inconvenience in her life and made me want to leave immediately. 2. the food was had no seasoning. all three of our plates (carbonara, braised beef, chicken parm) needed basic table salt. it was boring and uninspired. not even good takes on the classics. also, the bread they brought out was flavorless as well in a very strange way. I regret the money I spent here.

So I'll give this place 4 stars. It had a very nice ambience. I loved the layout of the restaurant. It was very rustic. It looked cozy but not really. I sat a table for two across from my boyfriend and I felt like we were so far apart. Like this is not a place I wanna speak loudly in and I can't believe I'm complaining about lots of table space...but I am. I wish I was closer to the person I was with. So we started the night with cheesy garlic bread and it was phenomenal. It was accompanied by this tomato sauce. For my entree I ordered their ravioli with truffle and that was bomb.com! I was kinda disappointed because their menu was like 2 pages long but I still found the ravioli. I ate it all up. We skipped on dessert because we were so full. So overall the place is nice. I would have liked a better seating arrangement. The food was great however I wouldn't pay that much for what I got. Then again, it is downtown. My server was the best! So it's not one of my top pick restaurants but I would recommend it if you were going to see a show at playhouse square.

Went there after the theater. There were only three tables filled in the restaurant with us being one of them. It took an hour for entrées to arrive. Other tables that came in after us got their food before us. Our waitress had attitude, and her service was poor. The food was mediocre and not worth the price. Look elsewhere for post theater food

Is it possible to love the service and hate the food? Disclaimer: I love all Italian foods and it's got to be terrible for me not to love pasta. With that said, service was great. Prompt bread and drink service. And the waiter was quite attentive. On to the food, the cheesy garlic bread app was bread and cheese foil. The cheese was stuck on the foil and when you went to get a slice, only soggy bread came loose. Such a shame As for my entree, gnocchi tasted hard and stale. The pork was non existent and the sauce was bland. I would have returned it but had already down two drinks and wasn't feeling too impress that the food was going to get any better. So. Boo and big dumbs down to the chef. Such a shame the food is terrible. I guess they figure they will stay in business since it's right across the street from the play house. The reason we chose this place.

I can't complain about the food or the ambience at Cibreo. What I can complain about are the prices. Everything is about $5-$7 more than it should be here. The food is very good if somewhat unexceptional, and the ambience is nice. I think it's just too expensive for what it is.

I got kidnapped, thrown into the trunk of a car, driven at high speeds eluding what I assume to be the fuzz and dropped off at this fancy-schmanzy Olive Garden in downtown Cleveland. I asked where my salad and garlic breadsticks were and was told it was ala carte for $9.99 each. I said, that is weird for Olive Garden. I thought that is what they were known for, and proceeded to order chicken parm and my date ordered a filet. After a few bites, we both commented on how the quality of a poor excuse of a restaurant like Olive Garden had gone down and was then finally informed through way of the bill that this was not in fact the faux-Italian chain we had grown to know and loathe, but rather Cibreo, an "upscale dining experience a few steps away from Playhouse Square". All joking aside, the food here was mediocre at best. The chicken parm was a huge chunk of breaded goup and the pasta that was served with it was cold and school cafeteria like. My date's filet was tough- a sign that it was NOT a filet, but I was not in an arguing mood. Once I got back my bill and saw the $14 drinks I was more apt to throw down, but we would have been late for our show. I would rather buy a hot dog from a street vendor and eat and wash it down with a can of crab juice (Simpson reference) than return to this taste of italy. Thanks but no thanks.

Mediocre at best. I was super excited to try this place out before a show. I ordered the caprese salad. Mozzarella was not fresh, tasted store bought and reminded me of the cheap package mozzarella that the grocery store sells. For dinner I had the Parmigiana. The chicken was good, sauce was good.. The spaghetti had obviously been plated way before the chicken was done because it was room temperature. Definitely a disappointment.
