Cicada Bar

A beautifully cosy, intimate and upscale bar. We ordered the: - Anchovy and tomato toast with mortadella (tasty but under seasoned - tomatoes could have also been a touch more ripe) - Mushroom soup (creamy, rich and savoury) - Octopus (perfectly cooked and tender) - gelato of the day with jelly and chocolate crumb (delicious!) - chips (seasoned very well and crispy) I also got a Momo which was a mocktail - very well balanced. Food was good, not perfect but we really liked our experience here - the atmosphere was fantastic and service attentive.

Was a great sushi place. Very expensive but the food was worth it, comes in fancy plates, a chef serves and makes the sushi in front of you and you can choose wine if you’d like. I would go again! ^_^

In town for two nights and walked past this place on our way to dinner. Peered in as it looked so cosy and a lovely woman opened the door and explained they weren't quite open yet but we looked cold and were welcome to come in and warm up. We ordered a drink and didn’t want to leave! The next afternoon we tried to book online for dinner but system said they were booked out. Couldn’t find a phone number so we emailed and left our number. Within minutes we got a call saying they had a table for us. Staff remembered us and were so welcoming. Service was on point. Food was incredible. Beautifully presented too. Definitely worth going back to Canberra just to go here again. This place was the full package which is just so rare these days. Highly recommend.

I had recently heard about this place and immediately wanted to go try it out. It was a 13 course meal and we got the sake pairing as well. The duck noodle soup dish that came out, I legitimately think that it was the single most delicious thing I have eaten in my life. It was amazing. A lot of the meals were so so good! And the first or second sake they gave us was almost the best tasting sake I’ve ever had. Obviously it’s pretty pricey but if you can afford to go, it’s well worth the experience! It’s Japanese and many of the foods are seafood based.

Went to Cicada Bar for a pre-dinner cocktail and it did not disappoint. The bar staff are absolutely lovely - knowledgeable about cocktails and spirits and super friendly. Their take on a Negroni was stunning and super delicious. I will be back! Do jie (Thank you), Tommy and Jasmin!! 🥰

Stopped in to have a drink here before heading over to the Canberra Theatre to watch Dylan Moran (which is about a minutes walk from this spot!). Great atmosphere, beautiful drinks and very good service. The staff were always near by in case you wanted to order another drink, but were not intrusive at all. 10/10, will be back 😊

Hello. I am disappointed in the service. While the drinks were yummy they were over priced. However, the service was terrible. While they knew how to make a good cocktail the staff treated us like beneath them.

Best fries this side of the equator! Excellent cocktails and atmosphere. But those fries!
