I dined at this restaurant on a quiet evening (I couldn't find a free table at the weekend). The whole experience was a pleasant one. The interior is tastefully appointed, discreet music was playing in the background, the tablecloths shone with cleanliness, the restroom was spotless. The patron, friendly and giving many details about how the food is cooked, took the order himself. The waiters were very friendly. One of the waitresses gave me further details about the food and even advised me which dish to opt for. This whole picture surrounds the dinner itself, the dishes particularly tasty, full of flavors, exquisite, underlined by good wines, so that it all lingers in your memory for a long time. When a restaurant is highly rated on Google and recommended by many people, I am initially reluctant, as it is easy to be disappointed. This was not the case with Cicirinelle. Add the decent prices to this feast and you have all the arguments not to miss this restaurant, if you end up in Salerno.

Google
The cutest, quaint, hidden away restaurant with the biggest flavor. The cuisine and service is amazing and the experience is 5 star with amazingly reasonable prices. We definitely received an experience I'll never forget. You are missing out if you don't make it a point to visit this gem while in Salerno!

Google
The best food and service, waiters were very friendly and welcoming. The flavors are exceptional. So glad we were able to visit Salerno to try it!

Google
Wonderful spot, excellent food and good value for money. The steak was lovely, and the pasta was great. The panna cotta was dreamy.

Google
Been a year and rating this because of how well I remember my meal here. We walked in randomly at a 9pm table, wanting an easy meal and this rated as highly for us as michilen star places we got to try here in Salerno and up in Florence. Amazing service, so appreciative of our memory here!!

Google
We were looking for a nice place in Solerno, and based on Google, we found this place. Unfortunately, outside tables were fully booked, so we had to take a table inside. The service was great, the food was also good, not amazing but nice. The restaurant was also nice despite the outside better considering the temperature. Price was ok, and that was something in favour.

Google
We had the best service! During our visit we enjoyed an antipasto as well as the two dishes of the day. The Dish of the day was a gnocchi with anchovies or Risotto with pumpkin and cheese. The staff spoke great English and were accommodating. There were plenty of tables. The house wine was a good choice and complemented the meals. We will come back for the mussels that we were too satisfied to enjoy during our visit. When looking for the entrance you can locate these tables and chairs and the entrance will not be far.

Google
Manager was super friendly and helpful. Menu was straight forward and they had some daily specials so we got those. The antipasta starter dish was unique to be able to try an assortment of dishes. Pasta was great as usual but perhaps a little more salty than every other place I’ve been, perhaps attributed to some salt from the seafood. The secondi was a fish dish which was cooked well but nothing to write home about. Atmosphere was alright.

Yelp
This place is a gem. Out of all the places we've been to in Italy thus far, this one really tops the cake. All the dishes were an absolute hit and out of all the mussels I have ever had in my life this was cooked to perfection. The mussels were soft and the lemon was just chefs kiss. The penne was so good. The servers were nice and spoke English. The inside of the restaurant was like a little cave and they had outside patio tables as well. Do yourself a favour and visit this restaurant.

Yelp
This lovely Italian place left my group of friends and I with smiles on our faces and overstuffed bellies. This restaurant is in what feels like a cave? It's all stone inside it seems like. Our waiter knew just enough English and we knew just enough Spanish/ Italian to get by. The menu here is QR code, but there is little cell reception there for our internet to work. Overall the food was delicious. This penne was so cheesy and tomatoey. The mussels were cooked in a simple salt and pepper broth really allowing their natural flavors to pop. Both the mussels and the lemons were from the Almafi coast!

Yelp
Very good and thoughtfully prepared food. Prices are very reasonable for what you get. The service is excellent as is the ambiance. We wanted to go back but ran out of time in Salerno.

Yelp
During our entire 2-week stint in Italy, this was, hands down, THE best meal we had. Everything screamed quintessential hole-in-the-wall Italian gem, from its location off the touristy path hidden away in a cobblestone alleyway, the open-air kitchen right when you walk in, the narrow, cluttered tables, the wall with built-in shelving of hundreds of wine bottles, the stone wine cellar walls and ceilings - all of it - just perfect. Again, we failed to make a reservation but they quickly got us a table near the back and immediately provided us with two glasses of prosecco to pair with the homemade foccaccia bread/olive tapenade already sitting on the table. Fell in love pretty quick. Service was quick, friendly and accommodating. Menu was small, clean cut, classic. Noted some interesting entrees of "German style steak" and "Irish entree" (curious what they were), but opted for seafood. Starters: zucchini risotto / spaghetti puttanesca Entrees: mussels in lemon/white wine sauce Desserts: panna cotta with nutella / deconstructed puff pastry with nutella BF had risotto 3 times in Italy and this was his favorite by far. I don't like risotto, but the texture was so creamy and amazing. My puttanesca spaghetti was perfectly al dente and coated in that wonderful sauce. The mussels nearly brought a tear to my eye. Served piping hot in a metal kitchen pan with handles, they were plump and plenty and that sauce was addicting, especially with a few squeezes of the lemon wedges. They tasted like they were plucked straight from the sea and brought to us. I will never be able to eat mussels from Devil's Den again without thinking of these. Desserts were the perfect ending to a great meal. My panna cotta was uber creamy and held up nicely to the mirrory glaze of melted nutella. Puff pastry was also a delight. Mad I didn't get to try their infamous house red, but we wanted white with our seafood and our choice per the server's recommendation was wonderful. If we ever come back to Salerno, this will be the first stop on my itinerary.

Yelp
Basil risotto: perfect, soft yet has crunch (nuts) Tomato pasta: soft with good tomato sauce Great wine! (House wine) Salmon slightly over cooked, still flavorful Polish steak was very good but Slightly sangrona (rare), told waiter and they perfected it to my taste Friendly staff, very busy Some pictures wouldn't load but it all looks amazing

Yelp
They made us feel so comfy like eating at home! The music selection is amazing.. they played all the best Italian songs. And the food was superb I think about their pasta with cod dish every single day

Luke G.

Yelp
Great place to eat! They get busy so make a reservation. The head waiter/ host is hilarious. He had heat recommendations and the food was superb. I had a pasta and so did my girlfriend and then we shared a steak and desert. It was the perfect amount of food and it was super cheap compared to other places of that quality. The seafood pasta and the pasta with tomato, basil, and parm were stellar. All in all great restaurant.

Yelp
One of the the prettiest, tastiest meals I've ever had. The starter was four bites - chef's choice. Each was unique and very well done. (Pumpkin stuffed eggplant?!?). I had a white fish that couldn't be translated into English on a pumpkin sauce. The other two dishes were a flaky white fish under potatoes and a pesto pasta that is probably the best pesto I've ever tasted. Great house wine, limoncello for an aperitif. If you don't visit while in Salerno you are missing out.

Yelp
Amazing! Visted Three Times! We read that this restaurant was great, so we thought we'd give it a try. We didn't have reservations but decided to give it a go. It's a bit hard to find - down one of the side streets alongside the Duomo. But we're so glad we persevered! When we arrived they told us that they would be happy to serve us, but we'd have to wait for 20 minutes. That was absolutely no problem for us. There's nowhere to wait inside this tiny jewel of a restaurant, but there are a couple of chairs outside next to the door. The waiter kindly brought us each a glass of Prosecco. When we were seated, there was bread, olive oil and herbs already on the table. We ordered a bottle of the (very good) house red wine (only 8 euros!) and decided to share the appetizer. The appetizer is basically 2 to 3 bites of four different tastes. It was plenty for us before the meal. We then shared the risotto which was divine, and then shared the argentinian entrecote (beef) which was some of the best beef we have ever put in our mouths. It came with potatoes. The service was impeccable. The waiter was attentive but didn't hover. The restaurant is small and the kitchen is visible - they are very authentic and transparent. The menu has one starter, usually about 3 primi piatti, and 3 or 4 secondi. This is the mark of a truly good restaurant - only serving what is fresh and available. All three times that we ate there they had risotto (not on the menu and to-die-for!). Although the food is as upscale as it gets, the prices are incredibly reasonable. With the bottle of wine, water, shared appetizer, primi and secondi, our total was about 40 euros. Add a second main course for about 12 euros. If you're in Salerno, or even close, do yourself a favor and eat here!

Yelp
This was the best restrurant we ate at during our time in Italy. The owner was extremely accommodating and the food was exceptional!!! There was a great ambiance and the price was very reasonable. I would highly recommend.

Yelp
This place is such a gem. The food was delicious, especially the penne dish, and the wait service was friendly, attentive and accommodating. For all you get, the price is very reasonable. Do call ahead to get a reservation if you'll be visiting during a busier time or on the weekend. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Very elevated flavors. Great wine selection. Argentine meat was fantastic as was app. Great service. Make a reservation in advance.

Yelp
Phenomenal and entertaining dinner. The menu is small, serving only local, fresh, regional dishes. The ambiance is one of an upscale trattoria, and it is clear based on the clientele that Cicirinella is where the local Salernitans go for dinner. The food was outstanding, unique, and our waiter was quite an energetic and fun fellow. The menu changes daily (there were only about 10-12 items on it - the mark of a locally-sourcing restaurant!), so I cannot help anyone choose a dish - but I can safely say that the pesce del giorno was the easily the best of my entire 15-day trip throughout the region.

Yelp
I can't say enough! Food was wonderful, we felt totally taken care of, the waiter gave us a lot of attention, house wine was great. If you have one dinner in Salerno, this is the place to go. Get the house wine!

Yelp
Always perfection! Annually stop in Salerno to go to this restaurant for their pasta dish that they have been serving for last 25+ years. Centrally located close to main shopping district. Visited restaurant twice for dinner (not opened for lunch during week) while we spent last two days in Salerno on completion of our Italy vacation. Gigi as always animated and taking care of our every need. Served entire delicious loaf of bread at your table along with olive spread. Some of the best pasta dishes, along with fish dishes which were fantastic. Definitely need reservations as it gets full. Tables at front have view of kitchen, very impressive chef and sous chef work hard to accommodate all dishes that are served. House wine comes in the bottle and was fantastic not to mention reasonably priced. Everything hot and delicious, don't rush dinner, enjoy your time. Definitely will return!

Yelp
Amazing food! best food I had in two weeks in Italy. Absolutely get the White Fish with potatoes, and the hose wine is STELLAR!

Yelp
We found this gem on Yelp and we not disappointed! Very reasonably priced, excellent food and service. Located on a small side road near the Duomo. We had an excellent putenesca pasta, risoto, and tuna. Be sure to try the house red wine - very good.
