Very clean and cozy hostal, right at the heart of Zacatecas city center. All the team was extremely nice. Big and comfortable room. Hot shower at all time. You get access to a very clean and well equipped kitchen and a nice patio. We absolutely loved it and would definitely stay here again.

I had an unfortunate hostel experience in Zacatecas (see my other review) but this place caught my eye a couple of times as I walked by, so I decided to stop in and have a look in case I was headed this way again. First, what caught my eye was the fact that it was light, colorful, and clean. I took a tour with the manager (both he and the girl at the desk were super nice and professional) and was impressed by how pleasant, clean and bright everything was. They have free coffee for guests and nice sized, fully equiped kitchen for guests. The beds in the dorms have good sized lockers, dual personal power outlets, and thick mattresses. Wi-fi throughout. Discounts available off the rack rates outside of holiday season and for long-term stays, so don't hesitate to ask. Otherwise, a dorm bed was quoted to me at a reasonable 200 pesos per night. Oh, and the location is AWESOME, you couldn't get more central if you tried (unless you plan on sleeping in the cathedral itself). I would not hesitate to stay here if/when I return to Zacatecas.

The high ratings must apply only to the dormitories. My private room was only okay, but the private bath was less than. It was damp and moldy. The shower drainage was stopped up. The bathroom supplies turned out to be only toilet paper and a soap dispenser over the sink. The towels were tiny, thin and dingy (since they were white- a good bleaching would help). Even though painfully thin, the towels couldn't dry out. Sound & light from the shared dormitory bathroom entered through the bathroom window. The room was spare and bare, but fine except for the perpetual dampness-- though the portable fan helped some with the humidity. The historical building itself was lovely as was the decor in the lobby. The staff (except for one woman) was very pleasant and friendly (though not very knowledgeable). The kitchen was nice and clean. However the water dispenser was usually empty and there was no silverware! The next day, there was a plastic fork and one sad knife. Small fridge for so many people. The best part was the excellent location! 5* for the location. The price for a private room-- well, for just 40 pesos more I found a gorgeous, clean room a block away with no dampness, a lovely bathroom and good soaps, shampoos and nice big WHITE towels...and a window for air circulation plus ceiling fan. Again, dormitories might be great, but the private room was not a good value.

As someone else said, this plays catches your eye when you pass by it, and I passed by it for three days in a row. It is very near the other hostel in town, but just about a block closer to town. It really looks great (very colonial and nice when peeking in),and there is a great cheap eats place at the top of the street and a wonderful place across the street for a chilaquiles breakfast (it is a bar and seafood place at night).Just a few shops up the block is an artisan chocolate shop too! All that, and you still have the city to explore. It is about a 3 minute walk to the cathedral, 5 minutes to Dona Julia Gorditas. You can walk to the El Eden Mine in about 12 minutes (or take a taxi if you are out of breath because of the altitude). All in all a great location. As I said, I did not stay here, staying at another place up the street and over a ways, but I decided that if this hostel had private rooms, I'd stay here next time I'm in town. It does, so I will. ||||By the way, Zacatecas is a wonderful place. Someone said "magical," and I think that is about right. So many great museums and sights and eateries. Definitely worth a visit, and this hostel looks to be the perfect spot at which to stay.

I stayed 3 nights in the hostel. The hostel is super clean, colourful, cozy and super centrally located. |They have power points and a little shelf for every beds in the dorm room. And they even tidy up my buck bed everyday during my 3 nights stay !!|I also like that their buck bed is high enough and the stairs were located separated from the buck beds which means the person who want to get on the upper bed won't disturb the one in the lower bed.|The staff are kind and helpful though most of them don't speak English. ||Rooms for improvement :|1. It would be great if the staff speak English.|2. No free breakfast is provided (though free tea and coffee are offered for the whole day)|3. The kitchen only contains cutlery and a microwave. |

This place and their employees are amazing. They went above and beyond their call of duty to make my stay unforgettable. (Special kudos to Bernardo!)||||This quaint and peaceful Hostel has been opened recently, it is super clean and I love how cozy and charming the rooms are, perfect for families or individuals traveling alone. ( For those light sleepers, facing the main street, I would suggest bringing some earplugs, the church bells can easily be heard). ||||There is a kitchenette without cooking facilities, just a microwave and a fridge, but this is not an issue as there are plenty of restaurants and street food around.||||The hostel has free Wi-fi and it's possible to rent towels and/or extra blankets. They also offer discounted tickets for some of the attractions. ||||Overall, this is the perfect place to stay while visiting Zacatecas, to enjoy it's festivals, culture, food and traditions.

First of all, the mattress here was horrible. After I picked my bed, sat on it, and immediately was shocked at how poor it was, I quickly sat on a couple of others and they were just as bad. They are way too soft and saggy, to the point where you can feel the springs. I didn't sleep well most nights because of that.||||In addition, the main dorm is right next to the street. The hostel's location right next to the cathedral, so from the very early hours you hear the bell chiming and well as lots of traffic and people outside. There's no noise isolation whatsoever - the doors to the juliet balconies barely close, and that's it.||||The WiFi was very inconsistent - sometimes it worked well, and others it would barely work at all. The lockers under the beds are keyed, so you can't use your own lock, but the person working there couldn't even find the key for my locker! So that was useless. And I reported that one of the two outlets by my bed didn't work, and nothing was done over several days to fix it.||||It seems from the reviews that this is one of the better hostels in Zacatecas and, if that's true, I shudder to think what the others are like. The hostel was kept clean and inside the hostel it was quiet, but there were too many problems for me to really enjoy my stay here.

I hesitated between a 2 and a 3, here’s why: Pros: location (awesome), price (budget friendly), room is big and nice Cons: lots of noise due to very bad sound isolation - there was no real door in the room, just old wooden gates so we couldn’t sleep because we heard bells ringing all night long in the entrance, guests entering etc. Cleanliness of the shared bathroom, moldy scent :/ they should add ventilation Dire lack of facilities usually found in a budget hostel: no stove, no cutlery, no boiler - you can try heating up water in the microwave but that’s about it. Lots of potential, but it’s obviously been neglected.
