Cielomar Rooftop

We went to Cielomar on our 1st and last night. On both occasions we were truly impressed with the quality of food, ambiance and especially our waiter, Misael who made us feel totally welcomed. He would make a great ambassador for Mexico. When we raved over the best risotto we had ever tasted, he brought out the chef and said we could take her home. His sense of humor is contagious. We equally loved the entertainment "Soul" whose music was apltly soulful and classy. They even played our favorite "Fly me to the Moon". Loved everything about this place.

My partner and I had a wonderful Birthday experience at Cielomar Rooftop. The food was absolutely delicious. Our servers we very friendly and attentive. I don't remember their names but they definitely made our dining experience memorable. I highly recommend having dinner here.

This is my last night in Cabo and I changed my plan of going somewhere downtown to grabbing a bite right here on the resort last minute. It’s a beautiful rooftop bar with stunning views. Food was pleasantly delicious, the best food I’ve had on this 5-day trip. Server Antonio was very friendly and helpful, recommended great selection of dishes. The manager and chef came to the table to greet me too. Way to make me feel like a vip! Would definitely choose to stay at the Viceroy hotel again.

Truly phenomenal food and atmosphere, we LOVED it. Leaving 1 star because they charge 15% service fee AND hide it on the bill trying to get you to tip more (and the standard for tipping in Mexico is much less than the US so 15% already is pretty high)

Amazing experience! The food was excellent as well as the view. Our server, Salaman, provided amazing service and suggested great drink choices to pair with our food. Ordered the special, an appetizer, birthday dessert, and complementary focaccia. We had also reserved to have a 4 seater put together by the edge so we could have an ocean view and they accommodated for us. Overall so amazing and would definitely come back!

We really enjoyed our dinner at Cielomar Rooftop on our first night in Cabo. The view was beautiful, the atmosphere was great, and the live music made it feel extra special. I’m not usually a wedge salad fan, but the smoked wedge salad was fantastic, and everything else we ordered was equally delicious. The only weak point was the service — we sat with empty drinks for quite a while, which took away from an otherwise excellent experience. Overall, it’s a beautiful spot with great food and a memorable vibe.

From the moment we walked in, to our last bite our experience was exceptional. Our server Martin was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. He offered great suggestions for drinks and dinner. We started with the tuna tartar. Delicious! My husband and I shred the flank steak, roasted vegetables and truffle fries. The steak was sliced at the table, seasoned and cooked perfectly. Finished with dessert and a full moon. Couldn’t have asked for more

Beautiful restaurant on the top floor of the Viceroy Hotel overlooking the pools and ocean. Service was very attentive. Our fish came out a little over cooked, they quickly picked it up and brought us a properly piece of fish. Taradito was super tasty. Fresh bread service. Overall a lovely experience and the sunset sky was amazing.

Great upscale restaurant at the Viceroy! Was very convenient to just hop on the elevator! Husband and I shared the tom a hawk steak and sides!

Had my bday dinner here and it was sooo delicious! Of course I ordered a steak (ribeye to be exact), it was a little pricey but well worth it! The waiter, Daniel, did not provide good service, but David on the other hand was awesome!! The restaurant manager, Rodrigo, approached my table to check on us..he is a gem and definitely cares about customer satisfaction!! I really enjoyed the live band that performed, they did various covers of RNB, Soul and soft rock that matched the lovely ambience. Last but NOT least, THE VIEW from this Rooftop!! OMG!! The view is impeccable and breath taking, even at night! I couldn't take my eyes off of it! Can't go wrong with Cielomar!!

So pleasantly surprised. We ate at Nido (the nest) a couple nights ago and Cielomar was better. The buratta pizza was amazing and the baked oysters as well. We had the catch of the day and that was also tasty. Celebrated a birthday and the staff was so sweet. Oh and the coffee flavored lava cake was delicious.

Honestly I didn't really know what to expect at this restaurant lol! We actually had a great experience here because the staff was so amazing and helpful. I didn't like my drink and they were able to make another one for me- thank you so much. The food was really yummy and it was easy to share dishes with my friend. The rooftop is nice but when we went it was windy so if the weather isn't good, I would skip this rooftop.

This restaurant has the best view for sunset and the best service, cocktails and food! My favorite is getting a bunch of appetizers and sharing over a cocktail and taking photos on the beautiful deck! Usually have live music or Saturdays which adds to the amazing vibe! Fernando was great on our last visit, gracias!

The rooftop bar at the Viceroy. Perfect spot to grab a drink, and some food and take in the sights of the town, the sunset, the water, and the Viceroy hotel's architecture. Great photo ops! The service is top notch and I can't say enough about how consistent and good the service is across the entire hotel.

I loved Cielomar, the rooftop restaurant of the Viceroy Cabo. It was a romantic and very posh ambiance. The service was top tier. Our server checked on us repeatedly and I never felt abandoned. He set an example of what exceptional service should be! Our food was delectable, seasoned well and very much enjoyable. I would highly recommend this rooftop to anyone visiting Cabo.

LATE POST ***COVID REVIEW*** I tried Cielomar when it was October of *2020* so my experience may be well different from previous or current reviewers. It was incredibly empty when we came to Mexico for a few days on the weekdays and my party had no problem getting a table nor did we need a reservation. The restaurant was almost empty other than us and maybe 1-2 other parties eating there. Nonetheless, we enjoyed our dining experience very much. The sunset views, the food, the ambiance, everything was top quality. It was honestly one of my favorite dining experiences out of all my Mexico trips. Our bill turned out to be about $175USD for 2 people - a little bit more on the expensive side but the entire experience and quality of food was well worth it in my opinion. This place has perfect views, and the hotel is aesthetic and lovely. If you're looking for roof top restaurant with good views - Cielomar makes a fantastic option!

Delicious food. My husband and I got the ribeye, the fish, margarita pizza, oyster and the creamy rice with lobster. everything was divine and amazing! One of the best pizzas we've had, and my husband loveeeddd the ribeye. I wish there was more restaurants like this around where we live

Service was great, they definitely know how to please their guest. The restaurant is beautiful rooftop with an open kitchen concept. Great vibe. Complimentary breads was excellent. I got the mushroom risotto, I really enjoyed it 8.2/10 Free ranged chicken cooked to perfection. Love how they cook with an open flame giving everything a nice seared Smokey taste. 8.8/10 Truffle fries are basic, but weren't bad at all. 8.1/10 Chocolate Molten lava cake was good wish it was hotter would of made it much better. 7.6/10

What a great meal, ridiculous view, delightful people - great night. Cielomar is the rooftop restaurant on top of The Viceroy resort. Let's see - the bread! HUGE Tuna Tartar, Pizza! Salad! Catch of the Day - sea bass ... so fresh and delicious, beyond delicious! Everything made with love and the greatest service - people so nice and fun - oh, and that view!!!!

Probably my favorite restaurant located on the Viceroy rooftop. Personal favorites are the roasted chicken & truffle fries. They had live music the two times we were there and they both played a wide variety of genres for everyone to enjoy. There is a large bar and lounge seating if you are interested in having a rooftop cocktail. While we didn't order any, the desserts looked amazing.

My hubby brought me here for my birthday and it was unforgettable. Amazing sunset view, the cocktails are beautifully crafted, and the food was delicious. A must!!!

Pros: * Drinks were pretty good. * Beef empanadas was good. * Head cauliflower was good as well. * The dessert that we got was pretty weird. It's some kind of banana with chocolate stuff, but they're sporadic. It's good though. * View and venue were awesome. Cons: * Fries was a meh. * Pricey. * Black truffle pizza was pretty unique. Though the dough wasn't good at all to me. Conclusion: Overall, this place is a good hangout spot at night. They can make you pretty good drinks. Food though, it's just mediocre. I don't know why, but all the restaurants at Viceroy (3 of them) were just okay... It's just convenient to get food if you stay at Viceroy. Server was pretty nice and attentive. He even told us about all the organic ingredients. This is just what my opinion is. Everyone has different palate and different favorite food. Their food is just not a good fit for my taste buds.

Went for a birthday dinner. Not worth the $15 can ride there. There's way too many options for food between Cabo and San Jose to settle for Cielomar. Appetizers were a sad. -Ceviche aka: sashimi was boring and by no means had any part of "ceviche" to it. -Corn ravioli with clams were straight out of a hungry man container and warmed up, accompanied by worlds smallest clams. Dinner: Sea bass was okay New York steak was good, comes with a MINIATURE side of potatoes. Nothing fantastic Broccoli was straight out of the steamer with a sauce that was okay. Truffle fries- boring! Mushroom risotto was fabulous and the best thing we had all night. AMBIANCE: If you are in to a prison feel and lots of concrete the views will not disappoint you. If you like a humid dining atmosphere you are in luck. There was no breeze and no flow up air, all the heat from the kitchen gets trapped in the dining area. Not to mention yes it's pricey. I wouldn't care if the food and ambiance was great but that sadly was not the case.

Food, Ambiance, and Service were all 5 Star. We came to Cabo on a girls trip and we are were not disappointed. The restaurant was located on the rooftop of the viceroy hotel. We were seated immediately and napkins placed on us. We also had an amazing view. We were immediately offered sparkling or still water. We asked our server for recommendations and we were given great options. The snapper was cooked to perfection and the side of Brussel sprouts were plentiful. Our server checked on us but didn't overdo it. We enjoyed great food, views, wine and service.

This place is phenomenal. From the moment you walk into the building to exiting, every employee greets you with a smile on their face. The rooftop is inviting, cozy, and had wonderful drinks & food. The service was outstanding. We will be back!!

The food is good, but the views are what brought us here and really amazed us. This little rooftop is so beautiful and great for a fancier night out. The decorations and ambience are unbeatable, and the sunset is to die for. This is a little pricier, but definitely cheaper than places like Sunset Mona Lisa and reasonable for an upscale hotel. You're mainly paying for the views and the fresh ingredients! For the food, we ordered three appetizers, the corn w/ bone marrow, truffle French fries, and beef empanadas. These were all great, but my personal favorite was the corn with smoked bone marrow. As for entrees, I would definitely not recommend getting any of the greens. I ordered the local tomatoes and my friend ordered the grilled romaine--although these were cheaper options on the menu, they were very average and could not worth it at all. My boyfriend ordered the whole grilled snapper and LOVED it--so fresh and worth! Overall--recommend for the views, food is good and slightly overpriced, but the waitstaff is very nice!

We had diner here the first night we go to the Viceroy in Cabo. The food was quite amazing, a really great balance between traditional, gourmet, bold and delicious. The service is wonderful and the atmosphere is very relaxed and Loungy. I had a few small things because I wanted to try a variety of the dishes they offered, I had the beef emparamadas, the melted oxacan cheese and the sashimi tuna. It was all incredible and well prepared! If you are looking for a delicious meal away from the riffraff I highly recommend this place 5 stars for sure

Wow. This really is the place to be in Cabo! As you come out of the elevator you're greeted with the most amazing sunset. If that wasn't enough the servers then give you one of the prettiest cocktails you've ever seen! The food is all super healthy and delicious. I loved the duck and the roasted octopus and the ceviches are out of this world. There is an industry night on Thursday's with great offers and a DJ some nights too. Love hanging out here and can't wait to come back!

Pricey, unorganized, and terrible service. Took them 1.5 hours to bring out our dinner after ordering. Never even got asked for any drinks during that 1.5 hour wait. Some people of our group never even got their dinner after that wait. On top of all of that they snuck in a forced 15% tip. A complete rip off. I recommend just coming for a drink and enjoy the view, but don't stay for dinner.

While staying at the Viceroy, I visited this establishment. Very cute, rooftop seating, nice ambiance, staff is most accommodating and so sweet. Fabian, Tania, and Paris are on top of their customer service game. We enjoyed our meal, with delicious food. The tuna poke pizza- is a must and the kind staff is always a plus. We will be back when visiting Los Cabos. Thanks serving crew@Cielomar!

The truffle pizza was phenomenal. The catch of the day (which was sea bass on Sunday) was great too. Nice view of the resort and beach.

This was a 5 star meal all around. I've had many manhattans, but the one here has a creative spice and dried fruit and honey it was amazing. My girlfriend had the tiki tales drink that was frothy and beautiful and she was all about it. We split the grilled romaine and it was delicious. The clam chowder bone marrow dish may have been one of the most creative dishes we've ever had, the wood-fired smoked clams, piping hot chowder in a bread bowl, bone marrow, fresh radish, jalapeño, parsley....we were impressed with every bite. The parmesan truffle fries were on fire and was like a gift from heaven above. She had the Jurel and loved it, I had the whole grilled snapper and it was everything you want in a gourmet oceanside establishment. This is a great restaurant, highly recommend it.

Excellent service, food, ambiance and view! In the heart of the hotel district in San Jose del Cabo. We had a great time and will return on our next trip.

If you can only take one thing away from this review, know that the service is horrible. We were not staying at the resort, but we're staying at a neighboring resort. We had reservations for 9:30pm and arrived at the resort at about 9:05. Upon arrival the security guard refused to let us in because he couldn't "know for sure" that we had resorvations. I literally asked him, do you think I'm lying and am tricking you to let me come in and spend a couple hundred (USD)??? After about 15 minutes they finally let us in. My wife needed the bathroom so we took a quick detour before going up to the rooftop. While she was in the restroom the front desk called me and said that we were not permitted to be anywhere on the premise but the restaurant. Really? You are complaining because we make a pit stop to use the restroom on our way to the restaurant? I then filed a complaint with the manager who then seemingly "forgot" how to speak or understand English, even though he was clearly fluent. Dispute all this we decided to stay because the restaurant is really nice and has a great ambiance. Maybe your experience will be different if your a guest, but if not - I'D STRONGLY ADVISE TAKING YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE. The vibe was somewhat stuck- up, and unfriendly. While in San Jose there are sooooo many nice and extremely friendly places to go. This happens to be one of the few that doesn't fit in that category.

First of if you're considering coming here make a reservation it seems to always be full. Now on to my experience here 5 stars for the view 5 stars for the vibe 5 stars for the food the only thing that ruin my experience was the looooooong long wait for my food we waited about a hour for it and that was a little frustrating.

Really nice rooftop spot, but execution lacks a bit with the food. Octopus was served cold; one of our dishes was forgotten, and our waiter forgot about us after a large group was seated. Go for the rooftop vibe, not the food.
