Parque Arqueológico Cihuatán

This archeological site is terrific Off the beaten path.. totally underrated Had the entire site to ourselves You can climb to the top of the large pyramid for amazing views. 5.50 for gringo. Small shop has nice hats and tees for sale. Highly recommended if you’re driving from Santa Ana to Suchitoto!

Great destination, huge pyramid that you can climb up on. Largest maya site in ES. Good information about all the objects and the history. There is also a and guide to walk you through the complex if you wish. Museum had a lot of info that you should definitely check out.

This is probably the best archeological park so far, well preserve and maintain. The employees are knowledgeable and friendly. I was able to climb to the tallest pyramid. All State Parks and Museums are closed on Mondays.

This place was amazing, we had the whole park to ourselves. The guide person gave us a quick history. We were able to do our own guide. It took us 40 minutes because we were enjoying everything.

This is a really cool place to visit and see preserved ruins, there many different sections to the park and the guides are helpful and informative

This was a very nice pyramid. This is the 4th Myan pyramid I have been to, and I was surprised it was so well kept and easy to climb. If you are looking to visit the area, make sure to visit this offers one of the best opportunities to still climb a pyramid and has the best way to do it. The El Salvador government has installed a good set of stairs to make it safe to clumb, no ropes, and thousand year old stairs falling apart. The views from the top were amazing.

We had a great experience touring Cihuatán. Our guide Jonathan was patient, knowledgeable and did a wonderful job explaining the history of the area and involved the group as much as possible. The grounds are beautiful and worth the trip if you wish to see and learn about the Maya world.
