"In the early 1920s, a hairdresser who used to live in Paris opened Ciné Paris, Greece’s first outdoor cinema. Ever since, open-air cinemas have been a staple of summer life in Greece. Ciné Paris closed down after 40 years of operation and reopened in 1986 to become locals’ favorite summer haunt. Located in the neighborhood of Plaka, the rooftop garden of Ciné Paris offers stunning night views of the Acropolis.All non-Greek speaking movies are shown in their original version with Greek subtitles. The cinema is open from May to October, and the usual screening time is at 9:00 PM. Seats aren’t numbered, so arrive at least 15 minutes earlier to find a good spot. There’s an intermission after the first half of the movie to grab one more beer or snacks from the concession. Remember to have your mosquito repellent on hand and maybe a light jacket to protect you from the breeze. Absolutely loved it here! Sitting next to the Acropolis is something very special to say the least. The cinema building itself is lovely and clean, good drinks and snack options, and the chairs were a lot more comfortable than I anticipated. I came here at the end of September and I’d recommend wearing layers at it gets a little breezy. The sound and picture quality was fab.

One of the highlights of my Athens trip. Stunning views, beautifully smart and aesthetic cinema and a great atmosphere. It doesn’t even really matter what film you see because the experience of being there is amazing regardless. Recommend you get there 30-60mins early, it’s a fab place to sit and have a drink before the film and means you can climb the stairs at the back and nab a front row terrace seat. Was very glad I got this amazing front spot!

My favorite summer activity in Athens. You can't beat the atmosphere here with the incredible view of the Acropolis as the sun sets. Comfortable, sturdy seats and a great snack/drink bar. Definitely recommend buying tickets in advance.

Ive visited this place with my boyfriend and we watched Materialists. This is the best rooftop cinema we've ever been to. Such nice and amazing staff, such a good location, so pinterest-y and has a beautiful view of the acropolis. Prices, food and drink, sound, view...everything was so perfect. Thank you so much for making our first visit to Athens so special, it will always have a special place our hearts.

Great experience for an open air cinema: views of the parthenon to the left, plus an interval for a good selection of drinks & snacks (frozen strawberry marg was a delightful surprise). Staff were friendly, and they had blankets available. Sound was a little quiet but we were sat on the little side balcony, by choice, and not in direct speaker line. We got there early for the 8:30pm showing but there was a film on beforehand and so entry wasn't until 7:50. They have pizza, nachos, popcorn, sweets, lots of local beer options & soft drinks plus cocktails.

Great experience in Athens in the historic center with the acropolis on your right, above. I believe its best enjoyed at night. It was not very crowded when I went there so I didn't have problemas with seats not being numbered. The sound and image are good and you'll find drinks and snacks on its bar. Popcorns are salty, so if you grab them, be sure to have a drink also😉

Like a drive-in but on a roof without the cars. Was a bit cold in early October but must be wonderful in the summer. Added bonus, cool view of that Acropolis of Athens all lit up

Beautiful cinema, and sweet staff. We accidentally bought tickets for Saturday instead of Friday, but when we arrived she helped us change it 🙏 Beautiful scenery, and good selection of drinks and snacks. The movies are shown in English with Greek subtitles.
