"Otherwise, for a date with some art and culture involved, Le Cinéma du Panthéon, with its bar where you can have a drink afterward, is also a good option (especially since it belongs to Catherine Deneuve, there are awards everywhere)." - Mathias Holst, Video Producer - Vogue Paris"

Lovely historic cinema, with good quality projections and comfortable seating. The 3 stars is due to the ridiculous prices for consumables. 19€ for all dishes? 8€ for a drink? Yeah, you’re not a beach club… relax.

You wouldn’t want to tell anyone about this cafe - it’s too nice.

My parmentier au canard was absolutely delicious. The vibe is very cool as well. The service was really slow though and the bread old.

If you have a chance and you're a movie buff, then visit this cozy movie theater. You'll find some new releases but I suggest seeing a retro film if you can. Make sure you take advantage of the tea room.

Excellent spot to relax and have a coffee, a tea or to eat pies & salads mainly. Coffee is not as good as in a real coffee shop but the place is just great as it is hidden and you would never find it walking by on the street ... A secret gem ... by Simply France Tours

A hidden cafe/bar above the theater is a great idea. The space is large and spread out, with an outdoor terrace in the back (open ceiling). The menu is short, and lacking in cocktails that you might expect. It is quite, and could be a nice place to get some work or reading done, or to catch up with a friend.

This is the oldest cinema in Paris (without break in the exploitation). They usually display only one movie per week, four or five times a day. Moreover, the screen and seats are fine. An authentic cine-experience, much more pleasant than the usual MK2 / UGC ...

Yelp
I've seen so many films in this theather, many of them with the presence of the director (including Asia Argento mind you) or famous critics (Jean Douchet is a regular) that this is almost like the church of cinema. Every seat has the name of a director who has contributed to film history, the theather is just big enough for its audience and there are many parallel events going on besides the sneak previews (a Russ Meyer night for instance). Now, the regular crowd tends to be on the older side or composed by confirmed film lovers. It would be nice to see a few younger faces here and there, specially considering the wonderful dinner space they have on top which is hard to discover if you don't know it's there (it took me at least 5 years to realise it existed), and it's the perfect place to discuss the love of film.
