Open more than 55 years ago and renovated in 2012, this cinema hall of French Institute in Bucharest it's a great alternative to most of the mainstream cinemas in the city. The only down point I can quote is that there's no nominal seats on your tickets and - if you are a couple or o bunch of friends - sometimes you will have to spread throughout the place, seeking for a convenient chair.

Fantastic spot to visit the Cinema. This is now my second favorite spot to see a flick in Bucharest. The seats are extremely comfortable sound is great and the atmosphere is calm and quiet. All the staff are friendly and helpful. The lounge is clean and bathrooms well kept. They also have covered bike parking and nice garden area. Highly recommend and will definitely be back

Very special cinema with a unique atmosphere in the heart of Bucharest. My favourite cinema in town. This cinema has a very unique interior architecture and very comfortable seats. Great selection of films and nice audience. No food or beverages are allowed. Good ticket prices and you can easily buy them online. If it’s the first time you are visiting: the cinema is placed just behind the main building which is the French Institute. Bonus: last time I visited there was also a cute cat.

A cozy cinema and a great alternative to the ones you would find in malls, you can bring your own snacks and water and it has a good & diverse selection of movies.

Small classic cinema place. This is where you can catch all the Cannes films, lots of foreign and more niche movies. It is ideal for those who want to get away from the big cinemas in the commercial malls. No to mention the ticket price is half of what you normally pay in a mall. In the summer time you can enjoy the movies in the garden area, accompanied by a glass of wine. The cinema is located inside the French Institute.
