Nice theatre overall, but the seating has a significant design flaw. The seating arrangement is poorly staggered, making it very easy for a taller person in the row in front of you to completely block your view. I've had this issue multiple times where I spent the screening looking directly at the back of someone's head. Unfortunately, there's nothing a guest can do about this design issue once you're seated.

It's one of those old timey cinemas, right in the city centre. They also sell reprints of old amazing movie posters from all the decades of 20th century. I love this. Sometimes it's good to go back to the classic old cinema without all the bells and whistles and just enjoy the suspension of disbelief and imagination like we used to. There is also a little cafe/bar downstairs right next to the theatre. I wanted to take pictures of it, but forgot. You have to take my word for it and go explore it yourself, you'll see it's worth it. :)

Very aesthetically pleasing cinema with a variety of rooms and really interesting programs. Go watch movies! Even the smallest room is great for screenings. They offer English/Expat-Friendly Czech screenings as well.

Such a nice place to watch movies. There’s 3 theaters and a bar. I really enjoy my time here

This movie theater is awesome 😎 They play a wide range of films including many in English . You can also get a glass of wine or a beer to take in the theater with you - wish they had better snack choices but that’s not the reason I come here .😍

I never really understood the meaning of “a cinema theatre is also an experience” until I walked in to a Kino in Prague. Especially Kino Svetozor. It is everything a classic cinema should be and it is everything a cinema going experience is said to be. It’s more of a community space than the usual multiplex-like cinemas. It’s rustic and modern at the same time. It’s got small screens that brings out the best of the theatre going experience and it’s well-thought our decor makes the whole outing worthwhile.

Nice, cozy but pretty small (so maybe buy tickets ahead) cinema. They also have pretty good prices for students. We went there twice and enjoyed both the movies as well as the place itself :)

Yelp
If you are not Kanye West: This is your cinema in Prague. I say this because there is only one cinema in Prague that Kanye West would actually prefer: The Lucerna right next to it. It is a beautiful screening hall which is bad because I have actually found myself to be slightly annoyed when the lights go out and the pre-show begins...just because the venue is so terribly stylish. Oh, one more note on the competition: The chairs are pretty uncomfy - which brings us to Svetozor where the chairs in the small screening hall are also rather uncomfy, which is again complaining on a high level of course: I honestly don't get how people frequent multiplex cinemas and pay double of what they would have to pay at Svetozor (possibly triple for snacks and drinks). Sound and all the other technicalities are superb. Svetozor's program is top notch: Excellent selection with English subtitles whenever possible. The drinks are so reasonably priced and simply excellent (try their 11°!) that the bar is actually a nice place to go even if you don't intend on catching a movie. To top it all off they've got festivals, their movie summer and all these collaborative ventures with Bio Oko and Aero (both of which I also love...they are just a bit further away). Honestly: The uncomfy chairs in the small screening hall are THE ONLY downside. And I can totally live with that as most of the movies they show there (documentaries and rarities) cannot be seen and found elsewhere anyway. Oh by the way, if you really are Kanye West: Give me a call, I'd like to hang out and talk about how much of a genius you are and how tragic it is that you won't ever be able to see yourself perform live!
