At 6€ for a classic movie, that's some of the best value for money you can get at a cinema in town. Beware, they usually play the original prints, not always restored so you may have cracks in the image or even missing frames here and there, but I think that's 100% part of the fun. Also, silent films are accompanied by live piano and that is really cool. A must if you're a movie geek. There is also a small cinema museum with a bunch of old machines you can check out.

€6 for a classic movie, with great thematic film series running at all times, it just can't be beaten. It's a subtle, cosy little place, and all the better for it.

Very helpful stuff. They answered in a very clear way all my questions and were always willing to help. Movies are in their original language with subtitles, which adds to the magic is the film

7 minutes late, refused entry, and they won’t even exchange the ticket for another day. Okay, it’s disruptive to be late. It’s also disruptive to go to the toilet. It’s disruptive to sneeze. It’s disruptive to laugh or cry or shift in your seat. If you want to watch a film without any disruption, use your living room. If you want to live in a society with human beings, accept imperfections. If even cultural venues are stamping their authority on our metaphorical necks like this then Marine Le Pen must be right, authoritarianism is cool again.

One of the most underrated cultural venues in Brussels, hosting one of the richest collections in the world (approximately 70,000 movies) Check the website www.cinematek.be for the trimester program. There are two rooms: Ledoux (117 seats) and Plateau (29 seats). There are a lot of classic films showing up in original format and version, with French/Dutch subtitles, or English subtitles for foreign titles (China, Japan, etc.) The lobby/forum is free to visit, with several rare artifacts from the pre-cinema era. There is a small but great permanent exhibition area (Wunderkamer), a reading table with cinema professional magazines, etc. Even if you have only 15min to spare, you should go inside, whatever is your level of knowledge about the field. IMPORTANT: Be there on time, or better, slightly ahead of the start. No food and no drinks allowed in the viewing room. No commercials/trailers, so the movie start on time. Therefore, it's important to be there 15min BEFORE the scheduled starting time. If it's a well-known movie or director, it's wiser to book online your ticket, or buy it in advance at the ticket booth. Once the session starts, you cannot go in, and at the starting time, if there is people waiting, the seats not occupied are re-sold for people waiting. NOTE: Since 2024, Cinematek also accepts the Cineville pass.
