This Cineplex theatre is a cool one. I went there to watch the new Superman movie and had a positive experience. Unfortunately, there arcade has been downgraded over the years and isn’t like how I remembered when I was a younger kid so that was a bit sad. The seats inside of the movie are very adjustable and they go back a lot but it kind of hurt my back at certain points. But then again, I’m grateful because usually you’d have to upgrade for that specific feature of the seat in the movie. Cineplex has a good deal on Tuesdays where instead of $20 per person per movie. It’s only 10! So definitely consider going on a Tuesday.

I recently watched a movie at Cineplex Odeon International Village Cinemas in Vancouver. While the audio was clear, the overall sound experience didn't quite deliver the cinematic feel - at times, it felt more like watching a movie at home. Compared to other Cineplex locations like Metrotown, the sound lacked depth and impact. The theater is clean and the staff are helpful, but upgrading the audio system could significantly improve the overall experience.

I had a very unpleasant experience at this location. We attended the first showing of this movie, and a short-haired female staff member started yelling across the entire cinema at people for using their phones. She stopped the movie and loudly declared, “I’m not going to start this movie unless seat __ and ___ leave.” Who gave you the authority to yell at and threaten customers, delaying the show for almost 20 minutes? If there’s an issue, deal with it before or after the screening—not in the middle of it, disrupting everyone’s experience. When the movie finally started, the screen quality was poor. My seat neighbors told me they were worried their Apple Watch might be too bright, fearing this staff member would storm in and stop the show again. No one should have to watch a movie with that kind of unnecessary anxiety. Cineplex staff have absolutely no right to make paying customers—who spent $25+ per ticket—feel like they’re in a prison. If you enjoy live concert screenings, I recommend finding another Cineplex, because this location clearly doesn’t value a respectful viewing atmosphere. I will never return here and will strongly advise my friends to avoid it at all costs.

Google
Love this place! Low key theatre, uncrowded, with very friendly staff. We’ve been going for years, and the mall has certainly declined and can get a bit liminal at night, but the theatre has stayed the same. Plus they have a little arcade that’s rarely busy (air hockey!) plus international films. Easy to reach by car or transit, with redeemed parking. There’s a couple of great places for snacks (Indonesian peanut tofu!) at the food court, a plant stand, and of course a gawk at the catfe! So glad there’s a smaller cinema in Vancouver.

Marc

Google
I always enjoy watching movies here. The staff is friendly, there is free parking, and the seats are comfortable. You should go and watch the movie if you haven't had a chance yet.

Google
One of the worst experiences I've ever had trying to watch an sports event in a cinema. They promised us the whole match on a big screen, and the only thing we got were technical issues, annoying noises from outside, and just audio with no image of it. I will never come back for this kind of event ever again. Why are you even offering this if you weren't prepared for this either? This happened trying to "watch" the Arsenal vs PSG match today.

Eileen Madrid

Google
not the worse place to go to for last minute movie plans but it’s pretty dingy finding it in an empty mall, you gotta keep taking the escalator up until you see it. Staff was pretty clueless about their own promotion but everyone was nice. Seats are okay and popcorn always is good.

Google
The best thing which I like about this cineplex is: The choice of movies they screen; if you are a true movie savant & an international movie enthusiast (Iranian movies, Chinese movies, Taiwanese, French, etc), do keep an eye on their screening catalog... There is a food court connected to the Cineplex which has got some good Asian food restaurants... Lastly, the whole mall complex is slightly prone to visits by drug addicts & homeless people... Though there haven't been any reported cases but still would recommend keeping an alert eye on your belongings.

Yelp
i actually kinda like this theatre for what it is, low key, never too crowded, and just chill. the seats are comfy enough, they gently rock back, but don't expect footrests or full on recliners with swivel trays, it's not vip. the a/c hits that balance, cool enough to keep you comfortable without needing a cardigan. tucked inside tinseltown (aka international village mall), this place feels like a bit of a throwback, the mall is dated and rarely busy. it means shorter lines, easy parking, and a calmer vibe overall. with nine theatres and a decent sound system, you're still getting a proper moviegoing experience without the frills. plus, it's close to chinatown, t&t, and a food court if you're craving something other than popcorn. but if you are in a popcorn mood (mandatory at movies for me, regardless of how full i am) theirs is solid (but can be a hit or miss). on this visit, the popcorn was warm, freshly popped, and not too greasy. washrooms were clean, no long line ups, and yes, free underground parking with your movie ticket stub. the movie lineup is diverse, from big studio hollywood blockbusters to indie releases and foreign films. not fancy, nor flashy, but dependable, comfortable, and a great spot to catch a movie.
google avatar

Yelp
Terrible service. There are two ticket machines out side of door but one of them's transaction machine was not working. I was almost late for movie time and there were long lineup after me. I was sure everyone were so frustrated not to catch the movie on time. I talked to the receptionist/cast member but she was busy for dealing her smart phone (don't bring it at workplace especially while you are talking to the customer) Three hours later, after I watched the movie, the transaction machine still had no sign like out of order. Even they haven't opened physical ticket booth. One other cast member was just walking around telling "Thank you for coming". It doesn't make any sense and no help at all. They pretend they were doing best without any effort.

Yelp
Great place for movie day. It is not a busy place but at least they have more options for movies. If you are waiting inside for your movie, there is no place to sit until you actually get in the room. Popcorn, pop and the hot dogs are good. Customers service is friendly.
google avatar

Yelp
What a gorgeous theater with a full selection of snacks to eat while enjoying a movie. The staff were friendly. Located across from the IGA grocery store. The restrooms were clean. The one complaint I would make is the rows are very close so any slight movement and you're kicking the seat in front of you. The seats are comfortable, but awful for any tall long legged people. Due to the small screening you could sit up higher and have a perfect sight line.
google avatar

Bobbie W.

Yelp
Very comfortable seats and allows you to recline . decent Sound system. More importantly, they make fresh popcorn rather than the bagged premade stuff. They also offer real butter, but it cost another dollar as well as topping options. Place is pretty clean and is a venue for the annual Vancouver international film Festival even in the regular theater listings, if you were to play a lot of independent films versus just all big blockbuster productions. It's part of the Cineplex chain, but has a unique indy vibe to this venue.

Yelp
Came to watch Humanist Vampire Seeking a Consenting Suicidal Person for VIFF! I've been here before twice for other movies. For this occasion, no fault of the staff, but the ticket scanners seemed to be acting up because of the spotty wifi, which caused a wait and complications in the line. The venue is clean and the theatre that we were in was very big. Once you get out of the theatre, I always find it hard to find the exit to get out into the Cineplex lobby and there isn't much guidance for that. I go to the movies pretty often and Cineplex is mostly my go-to out of convenience. I prefer other Cineplex venues but this one is certainly ok.

Yelp
Was your great movie theater very large and very clean would definitely return if I was in Canada again

Yelp
I finally returned to this cinema after 20 or so years, back when the mall was still called Tinseltown. Sadly, the complaint I had back then (wrote to them twice) still exists: volume is too low. I attended a screening of a Pet Shop Boys concert performance. Shortly after starting, one member of the audience went to complain about the low volume. With thanks to that guy, they turned it up to around medium volume. Later on, after more than halfway through, they finally turned it up to what I deem to be an appropriate level for a cinema (versus being in a library). I don't know if all of the rooms are like this, but the one I was in (7?) sounded like there were only speakers in the front. There were no speakers in the sides or back. Come on, even home stereos have 5.1 or 7.1 systems these days. The positives I can say about this place is that the seats are very good and I love the self-serve Coke Freestyle pop machines. The popcorn I had was okay, except that the butter was not layered. Bottom line is that I won't voluntarily come here unless the movie isn't showing anywhere else.
google avatar

Neha R.

Yelp
I went to the theater to watch the screening of The Black Phone. The theater is located on the top of the mall and as soon as you enter, there is a counter to order the popcorn and drinks. Don't forget to try out a flavor packet for your popcorn. The actual theaters are located much like the gates at an airport and you have to look at directions but even after that they can be difficult to find. More than that, it can be hard to see the theater numbers the way they are currently. Everything else is great!

Yelp
Popcorn was outstanding and although expensive with pop and candy, it was great tasting.

Yelp
Great location that's a skip and walk away from many restaurants. The area is always heaving with the divey locals but generally it's safe. Concession area is quite small compared to other cinemas but adequate. They generally play more international movies compared to other Cineplex cinemas.
google avatar

Yelp
Came by to watch a movie. One of the less crowded locations in town, mainly because it's not a SilverCity. Parking is available in the lot below Tinseltown. The theatre is accessed by taking the nice long escalator from the 2F food court, or the elevators nearby. There's a nice dated 1990s/2000s arcade in the main lobby - something to do while waiting for your movie, though some may prefer to just walk through the mall. The theatre food is overpriced, as expected. It's a no-brainer that one should eat at the food court instead. The theatres are smaller and cozier here. The seats do recline, which is quite nice. As with the SilverCity locations, you do not want to sit in front of the main aisle.
google avatar

Miri L.

Yelp
I came here to see a movie not showing in any of the bigger cinemas in Metro Vancouver. The place looks like it has not been recently renovated but it is clean, as far as the theatres, the lobby, and the washrooms can go. They don't seem to have a butter stand though, so if you like extra butter on your popcorn, you might have to cough up an extra dollar. But getting to the cinema is a bit of a problem because of that escalator. Best to use the stairs or even the elevators. The escalator is frankly terrifying and the fact that the mall is so old and almost rundown doesn't exactly inspire confidence. It looks like a freak accident waiting to happen.

Yelp
Bought tickets for the 6:55pm showing of Little Women today (Boxing Day 2019, December 26th) and it was a horrifying experience. Possibly one of the most memorably bad movie experiences I've had. Steer clear on holidays or popular opening days. We arrived to see a giant spiraling line of about 100-150 people waiting outside the doors in a single file line to get their ticket scanned. One person was stuck trying to collect tickets. The traffic jam was obvious and unrelenting. Obviously this was a manager's job to staff better and have more than one ticket collector, especially since there were three sold out shows, this was a predictable busy time. What really shocked me was once inside, we found another line outside the theater. Ahead of us we befriended a man with his mother in a wheelchair. There was no staff helping guide or inform so we were lost. People were shoving ahead and pushing past this poor elderly woman in her wheelchair. Literally pushing her aside. By the time we got inside, having waiting in line and not shoved or run and cut past disabled and elderly people, there were practically no seats and we resigned to sit apart. There was no acknowledgement of the chaos or apology, not a single staff member in sight. There were two staff members walking past with full cash tolls (totally could have grabbed cash) and a few other members came up and asked if they needed help. The complete lack of direction or management led to utter chaos and shoving of elderly disabled people who ended up without a seat. Not ok. I will be avoiding this theater on premise.

Yelp
I think they are getting new carpet. I just saw rolls and rolls of new carpet that has not yet been install. I like coming here because its not that busy and second of all I noticed that the other cinema close by (Scotia Bank theatre) might not have the movie I want to watch. Another trend I notice is that this theatre has more kids movies then the other theatres. They have free parking underneath which is a plus. There is one thing you should notice about its location. Its not the safest spot to be in that area. So just try to go in the afternoon. As well, I notice that this theatre is not super busy. But again they have more screeners than most other theatres.
google avatar

Karen T.

Yelp
If I were a car owner who needed cheap to free parking while seeing a movie this would certainly be the theatre I'd attend. Honestly while this theatre is wonderfully close to skytrain, it's proximity to GM place and how crazy busy stadium skytrain gets at any major event held nearby is often what causes me to attend Scotiabank cineplex.com on burrard first (I travel via transit). However this theatre is still enjoyable to attend even though I personally don't get the same wow feeling inside the theatre or while traversing the mall before or after a show. Can I blame the theatre though for its location? Not really. Staff always seem pretty young and have been obviously told to sell sell sell. Or perhaps the fellow customers tend to be in a hurry to get into the theatre seat that people have forgotten to take the time for personal interaction? I'm not asking you to be my friend although perhaps it would be more enjoyable if everyone would rush less. (I'm not complaining - just an observation). All the beach.

Yelp
I have to give my two cents worth of a review and a story, just so that I can share my "experience" with this business. I came to watch a movie with a predominantly female group. Guess which movie???? Magic Mike For those who are estrogen challenged, this is a movie about male strippers/exotic dancers with a bunch of fat challenged male stars. I got talked into watching this. I didn't mind, I even offered to go. Maybe I could learn a dance step or two. I've never been howled at when I ballroom dance, so why not this??? =D The girls at my office have been giving me flack for bringing in all the sugary fattening stuff, while I eat none of it and head off to the gym, so I guess I could at least come along and keep them company. It was like a ladies night in there tonight. We had a couple of trailer trashettes sitting behind our group who were immature and would howl and scream at every strip sequence. Peeps in the audience were telling them to shut up. It was an entertaining movie. Not a good movie by any stretch, but entertaining. One trailer trashettes got drunk, threw up in the theatre, then passed out. Luckily none of the puke hit anyone in our group. Hmmmmmmm... I guess she liked the movie. Or the hip gyrating and thrusting got to her. Surprised that none of the trashettes threw money at the screen!! Oh yeah.........the theatre. It's A-OK

Yelp
The spot is okay. They got some good international movies but otherwise just a theater. Food okay, popcorn was real stale though
google avatar

Jul R.

Yelp
Unfriendly cashier, way too cold, seats are not really comfortable. Not the best variety of snacks... my recommendation: Go to another place or stay home and rent a movie.
google avatar

Joel O.

Yelp
Great theatre. Good views from all seats Good food options in international village below.
google avatar

Yelp
It was nice for an evening out -- but definitely not something to be happy to write about. For a cineplex, this was disappointing. The employees were great but that's it. I felt like I walked into a theatre from the late 1990s or early 2000s. Very, very dated. My wife and I went out on our Scene points on a date -- being in town for medical appointments. But the arcade was not at all impressive, the concession stands were somewhat modern, but didn't know how to use my points -- $50 for two combos? Where with my points I can get the same for free? (After having to walk them through it). Was great to have the ability to enjoy a movie out -- the theatre is in a very lacklustre mall -- I guess I should have expected it.

Yelp
Took in today's live HD Broadcast of the LA Philharmonic Symphony at the International Village Cinemas. The Ticket Lineup was short, Auditorium 7 which showed the broadcast had about 250 seats. I went early so I was able to pick one of my favourite seats that has lots of legroom. The Sound System was very good and their HD projector is better then my Sony/Shaw home set up. I'm really glad to see Cineplex Odeon is presenting more of these Live Cultural events. The Food the Snack is standard overpriced fair in fact today the show was really long and I got hungry and I honestly felt a Hot Dog was the healthy choice on the menu. *See Safety Note I agree with others this place is easy to get to by Transit. It also has bicycle racks out font but its a fairly high crime area so I bring two good bike locks to secure your bicycle to the racks. *Safety concern Years ago I was at the Cinema to see Motorcycle Diaries and the fire alarm went off during the show and the management emptied the auditoriums. When I went to my car to leave the building with the Fire Alarms Blaring the Parking attendant refused to let our and other cars leave the building due to a ticket validation problem this could have been a life threading situation. Due to that incident and the poor food choices this place gets four stars instead of 5
google avatar

Yelp
The least expensive and least glitzy Cineplex in the area. You can save a few bucks and see a non-blockbuster/tent pole movie here or even a big foreign language film if you don't feel like commuting to the fancier RiverPort or Coquitlam Theatres. Not the best soundproofing at this location. You will hear explosions or audio from the next theatre during the quieter parts of your film. Positives are 2 hour free parking underground and a really good authentic Sri Lankan Food in the International Village Foodcourt.
google avatar

Teri L.

Yelp
I live in Richmond, and always go to Silvercity for movie nights but I came here the other day because I was in the area. It is less crowded by far and possibly cleaner because of that. Now I won't have to get to the theatres an hour before showtime just to get tickets. Bonus: Yummy food court on the 2nd floor, free parking and plenty of food places near by.
google avatar

Ana R.

Yelp
On our trip to Vancouver BC, we wanted to watch Aquaman. We ran into Cineplex and it was a good movie experience from buying the tickets (choosing your seat) to snacks. I liked the Harry Potter merchandise and other character merchandise they sell by the snack bar. Oh and it was very clean and didn't smell bad.
google avatar

Kenneth N.

Yelp
Everything's been said enough of its reclining seats, but why I like this place is that it's not overly packed like a zoo like the Riverport or Scotiabank. You can bank on getting some good seats even if you arrive 15min. prior to move start. Plus you don't have to walk a mile to the washrooms. and one can't beat the view of going up/down the escalor, it's pretty high up.
google avatar

Linda S.

Yelp
Favourite movie theatre! And food so yummy. Would recommend to anyone and everyone. Always a good time here
google avatar

Dallas K.

Yelp
As with any Cineplex theatre, you can expect a lot of overpriced junk food and an unsanitary arcade room. It is also lacking additional food vendors that could be extremely enticing like a TCBY. I say dump the arcade room and take a cut from TCBY. There's plenty of space to operate something small and good. What I do love about this theatre is the grand gradation of the seats and how well they tilt back. These are the most comfortable theatre seats I've sat in, being a short person. I'm not sure if the screens are, indeed, smaller than other theatres, but I have to say this is a HUGE LIKE in my opinion. You can watch high voltage action movies or beautiful fantasy flicks and not feel like you're missing part of the movie. The entire screen is very watchable with the best quality I've seen. Bring in TCBY and I might become a regular!!
google avatar

WT F.

Yelp
My favorite theatre in town. Why? Free parking underground, it's almost always empty (unless you're watching something on opening night), and the best seats ever. The seats recline slightly so you're not stuck with a stiff neck/back, and the seats are really cushy and wonderful. Why not 5 stars? Two reasons: 1. The air conditioning was down in that room. We were fanning ourselves. Luckily they fixed it soon into the movie starting. 2. The popcorn technique needs help by a popcorn buff (like me). When someone wants butter on their popcorn, they should fill it up 1/3 or 1/2 way and butter it up, then put in more popcorn and more butter and repeat until it's full. Pumping it once when all the popcorn is in doesn't get the butter to the bottom.
google avatar

Robin M.

Yelp
Located in what is surely *the* strangest mall in all of the lower mainland, this theatre is the only reason The International Village exists. Home to film festivals, Sundance selections, anime action and a blockbuster or two, it's absolutely one of my favourites in the city. Big comfy seats? Totally. Expensive? Yes. Salty popcorn? Absolutely, if you can afford it. Conveniently located just above an equally over-priced liquor store? You better believe it. Good thing I've got my big bag, 'cuz I be a smugglin.
google avatar

Cathy S.

Yelp
I am not afraid of heights but for some reason the escalator up to the International Village third floor scares the bejesus out of me. Since I can pretty much guarantee that the only reason I would ever come to this mall is for the movie theaters, the lure of a good flick persuades me every time to conquer my fears and ride the scary beast. At the top of the escalator you will be met with a Disneylandesque lineup for the ticket windows, which does move quickly, but which you can bypass altogether if you purchase your tickets online ahead of time. The seats are comfy, reclining and with cupholders. The sight lines are good and there is sufficient room between the rows to allow people to pass thru without the need to stand. The concession near theater 9 never seems to be open but the main concession has all of the salty and sweet treats that you could ever want at the typical usurious theater prices. The sodas are very expensive but are also absolutely humungous so it is a good thing that the theater maintains spotless restrooms. What I consider the theater's pièce de résistance is the free underground parking for theater patrons. Free downtown parking, SAY WHAT!? Overall, a pleasant moviegoing experience.
google avatar

Hilda L.

Yelp
I liked this theatre more before it was bought out by Cineplex. Since then, the theatre has gotten a lot busier, even line-ups for popular movies, because Scotiabank theatre and this place won't overlap their offerings. However, this is still my favorite theatre in the Cineplex conglomerate for the following reasons: - The seats recline (!!!) - The aisles are roomy. No need to get up to let other people walk by. - Cheap movies on Tuesday - Free parking (used to have to validate, but not anymore) - It's close to home (ok this only applies to me and my neighbors)
google avatar

Carly B.

Yelp
International Village is the cinema I prefer to do all my movie watching in. It seems like it's overlooked by the tweens and teens, which makes me a very happy adult. They get the first run movies that aren't as "blockbuster-y". And more indie and international films. My secret is to hit up the first showings on the weekends. Usually no lines for tickets/concession and you can get the better seats. Plus you're paying matinee prices. Its just winning all around.
google avatar

Alan S.

Yelp
Located in "The Mall of Tomorrow, Today", Tinseltown is a strange spot. As a theater, it's great. Up on the third floor of a shopping mall that never caught on, it continues to be one of the only viable options in the place. It's got a great mix of indie-house flicks and Hollywood blockbusters. ticket prices are standard, and it's not usually THAT busy -- certainly smaller crowds than the paramount future-plex on burrard. You get to choose from about 10-12 pictures on a given day, and you can get bonus street cred from seeing one that none of your friends have heard of (but will pretend to have "read about" and really hope to see...or at least download)
google avatar

Vincci L.

Yelp
Nothing beats reclining comfy seats while watching a movie. I like this theatre because it shows independent movies, as well as the mainstream ones. Sometimes, when the mainstream ones stop playing at the Cineplex theatres, they still play it. There's free validated parking for 3 hours in their underground parkade, so there's no hassel in looking for parking or having to pay for parking. There's also a food court and a couple of restaurants in Tinseltown to grab a bite before the movie. We usually grab a fresh berry slush at this bubbletea stall in the food court beforehand. They use fresh berries and it's absolutely delicious! There's usually no need to prepurchase tickets, as this place is never too busy. Ticket prices are around $10. I've seen many movies here, and have had a enjoyable experience in the nice wide aisles in my comfortable seat everytime!
google avatar

Ashton L.

Yelp
I really loved the theater - the seats were comfortable - i hope they maintained cleanliness the food court in the 2nd level . The only issue i have is the lower level full of Junkies , you cant even use their washrooms too smelly and dirty.
google avatar

Tyeesha F.

Yelp
5 stars. They are huge supporters of the Vancouver international film festival and the Vancouver Asian film festival. I look forward to this every year :)

Justinne R.

Yelp
Now that it's a Cineplex, I can't even remember the difference necessarily when it wasn't. It's still located at the top of International Village, governing over all the misplaced merchants and "international" cuisine. The elevator up is still as frightening as it was when it was not a Cineplex. Looking down feels like you're a step closer to losing your life...jacket. Theatre 9 felt smaller than usual theatres. Odd, but I'm sure it rarely gets full. Food is still expensive, and the Scene Card makes a a few cents difference --- it adds up! The employees were very customer-service oriented, so that is definitely a bonus. They all seemed happy to work there, which made me happy to watch a movie. I also heard that there is free underground parking, although it was too late for me when I heard this.
google avatar

Gabby S.

Yelp
I love Tinseltown because they have comfy seats and lots of leg room. There is also the option of lifting up the arm. If the line is too long, you can purchase your tickets at one of the 2 kiosks at the base of the escalator on the food court level. 7-11 is on the first floor so you can stock up on affordable snacks. Please just remember to throw out the garbage. I wouldn't want the staff to have to do mandatory searches. And if you happen to have females in your party, remind them to bring a big bag....big enough for bubble tea from the food court. At another theatre, I was able to sneak in 5 hot dogs in my LV Speedy 25. Remember to validate your parking ticket. You get 3 hours free!
google avatar

Sara M.

Yelp
This is the best cinema in the city located in the weirdest mall in the universe. Free 2 hour parking if you drive, transit gets you here in a red hot second, and it's on the edge of downtown which makes everything easier. I find that you needn't show up an hour early like is sometimes required at scotiabank, which increases your life efficiency. Ticket machines to avoid the window queue. Food court if you need to eat more than sour patch kids. Films tend to be more indie than douchey so you could feel like an elitist if you fancied.
google avatar

Gigi T.

Yelp
The only movie theater, on the top floor! The place is easily accessible by transit. Its conveniently located within a mall. There's food available on the floor below. But strictly no food from food court or whatsoever. They have a really high ceiling with cool-color tone lighting within the theater. There's a concession spot, a video arcade spot, and the entrance spot. Once you get in, the floor is filled with purple colored carpets, with a nice pattern to them. The seating in the movie theater is nicely elevated, so no one can possibly block you unless they intentionally do.. They have a moderate air conditioning system within each room, so its not too warm. Especially love the 50% on Tuesday nights! Last time I went, the room where we watched the movie was packed with people really quickly. Would definitely come back more often!

Yelp
worst experience with cineplex ever. This one star rating is solely for the "good" employees here at this location. Arrived early for 2D minions movie, was told to wait in line outside the checkline. In the meanwhile, saw many customers going pass the checkline. after at least 20mins, we went and ask the staff who told us to wait then found out he were already admitting customers into the auditorium. We were so upset, without any apology the staff just called his manager to come out to see us. Manager is Steve, same as his staff, just want to talk himself out of this without apology! We actually need to ask for an apology! what an attitude as a manager! I'm so surprised that cineplex actually hired this kind of employees. Extremely poor customer service! Will never return to this location!

Yelp
I was approached by a man on my lunch break as I was lounging in the sun who offered me free movie tickets. How could I say no? I ended up with four tickets to "The Other Guys" which = girls night out! I rallied the troops and we all met up at Tinseltown 15 minutes before the show started, but when I got up to the ticket booth the cashier said the movie was sold out. However, he said that we could pick any other movie and see that instead, so after consulting with the ladies we decided to see Toy Story 3, which was in 3D, double score! I would have rather seen Toy Story anyways! (And Toy Story 3 was actually pretty funny, so I am glad everything worked out this way.) I grabbed a large popcorn (for dinner) and pop to share with my girls, and we got nestled into our soft reclining seats just as the lights started to dim. Sure the popcorn and drink were over $10, and between two of us, we still couldn't finish it, but isn't it that expensive at every theatre? I love that no matter how tall my hair is at this theatre, the person behind me can still see over it, and no matter how squirmy I get, the seats will move with me. Movie night with the ladies was a great success, free movie, lots of popcorn and our parking was even validating before we left! Goodbye Silvershitty! Hellooooo Tinseltown!

Yelp
One of the best theatres in Vancouver! It's unfortunate that the International Village mall isn't very popular. Things I love about Tinseltown: *huge comfy seats *$8.75 for everyone on Tuesday *about $10 on other days *often have hard-to-find international flicks playing *free underground parking if you get your parking ticket validated Things I don't love so much: -outside area can be creepy (but you don't NEED to go outside if you have a car -concession is pretty expensive (7-11 downstairs?) Pros totally outweigh the cons so this place is still friggin' awesome!

Yelp
As a Dad of 2 beautiful girls and a husband to one amazing woman (@mom_ontherun), date night is a very important event for us. Finding a good theater that is close and has an environment that is friendly for kids at times is challenging. Thankfully, in the heart of Vancouver, The International Village (Tinseltown) houses an incredible theater with a ton of screens... one of the best features is the fact that the chairs recline slightly for a more comfortable experience - especially during those long movie epics. (And did I mention there's FREE parking if you are attending a movie?! This is unheard of in downtown Vancouver! Major brownie points) Considering this theater is located in a mall that seems to be struggling, it would appear that it isn't affecting the busyness of the cinema. Next time you are looking for a great family night, try Cineplex Odeon located in the International Village. Happy movie-going! (This is review 7/30 for the #30DaysofYelp event)

Yelp
Sneak in food!!! It's your democratic right to not have to pay four dollars for a fucking ice cream, especially one you get at 7/11 for a buck fifty. Seriously I know Tinseltown isn't alone in severly over charging for food but with a well stocked food court on the way upto the cinema you'd have to be nucking futs not to take advantage of the significantly cheaper food. If you want to save more money go on a Tuesday, it is a lot cheaper and really good value. The cinema itself is nice, I like the potraits of the stars on the wall and the seats are comfy, real comfy, don't go hung over or you'll fall asleep and your girlfriend will be embarressed when you start snoring, happened to a buddy of mine. The movies are a good selection, they don't play all the big movies, they do get some of the Hollywood big films as well as a few gems that aren't as well known ie documentaries etc. I like the cinema here, it's a nice, average place to go watch a movie just don't eat the over priced crap there.

Yelp
It was a bit confusing discovering this wasn't Tinseltown in name anymore but it seems to be completely unchanged otherwise. I think this is the best place to see first run movies in Vancouver. FREE PARKING We've been many times and the theatre is never packed. They always have the best selection of movies playing - big budget and more art house stuff. I sometimes get stressed going to movies but here it's always easy and stress free.

Yelp
Welcome, to my favourite cinema in Vancouver. It's not as packed as the Scotia Theatre or any of the Tinseltown cinemas, shows a variety of films which are often not your typical Hollywood drivel, and has more than 2 or 3 screens, all of which are sizeable, have comfy seats and good sound. There is validated parking underneath. It's centrally located. So I say again, "Welcome, to my favourite cinema in Vancouver" :)

Yelp
Is it weird that I think it's weird that they didn't play commercials or music before the show? Maybe I just haven't been to a movie in a long time and this is the new rage - silence. I know - who wants advertisements right? But the theatre felt awfully quiet compared to the roar of people's conversations around me - of which I heard many. Could it kill them to put a radio station on? Or have some paid Mazda Zoom-Zoom commercials playing before the main previews? Is it also weird that I think it's weird that you have to line up cattle call style to get into the movie? For every movie? Not just for new releases? Again, I haven't been to a movie in awhile - so this could be all the rage too - mooooove outta my way :p Aside from that - I heart Tinseltown. The comfy seats, not having to get up when someone needs to squeeze by, the popcorn - with REAL butter. All of it makes me happy. But the coolest part was having a grown up drink (snuck in by me) to complement my popcorn - yum!
