Nicest group of people I've ever met in a surf shop! We'll worth the drive to come check them out best place to buy a board anywhere in new england. They go above and beyond to make sure you leave with the perfect setup without breaking the bank. Really can't say enough good things.

I tried surfing for my first time today! From the owner of the shop, to my instructor (Blake-highly recommend), everyone was so friendly, helpful, and encouraging! I am glad I took the chance, and went out with them! Looking forward to doing it again someday.

Google
Our surf instructor’s for our lesson were super supportive, helpful, and energetic. We learned a lot. We went back to the shop and the staff was super knowledgeable, and friendly. We left with a 9 foot board to shred on our own, and will be back for another lesson. Thank you to everyone there.

Google
Great experience! My son had his first surf lesson and got up on his first try. The young instructor was a great match. We'd certainly return for another one. The shop was full of great finds and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful.

Google
Went to Cinnamon Rainbows to buy a couple of SUPs for my husband and I (with minimal knowledge) and Kai + Ryan were extremely helpful! Amazing experience and we are so excited to get our new boards on the water!

Google
Totally loving Cinnamon Rainbow Surf Company! The folks there are so cool and helpful, especially for a newbie like me. They got me all set up with a winter suit, gloves, boots, a board bag, and even a roof carrier for my surfboard. I actually got my board from them a few months back and couldn't be happier. Can’t wait to head back and pick up some more tips and gear. If you’re starting out like me, this place is a must-visit!

Google
One of the best “core” surf shops in the country!! I’m not local, but every time I come up to NH I make it a priority to stop. The crew in the shop are super friendly, and they typically have a good variety of reasonably priced used boards. Thanks for the hospitality!

I’ve been going to Cinnamon Rainbows Woman’s Surf camp on and off for years, and it is the absolute joy of my summer, which I look forward to all year round. The staff and surf camp attendees are always really friendly and super supportive. In the evenings, when the woman’s surf camp is running, the water is filled with laughter, new friendships, hootin’-n-hollerin’, cheering each other on, and everyone playing in the waves. The supportive, non-competitive culture on the water is really special and rare - something we need more of in our world, and which shows up in the little slice of heaven that is the 12th st surf spot on woman’s surf camp evenings. I plan on being a lifelong participant in the woman’s surf camp evenings. 100% recommend.

Yelp
I had a great time during my 1st ever surfing lesson! It was an easy, straightforward online booking experience. I showed up at the shop to check in, was easily assisted with the wetsuit fitting, and the girls working the front desk were great helping me find the Tshirt size I wanted. Instructions for where to show up and when for the lesson were super clear. They even took me early, and I had a clear demo of on-land surfing "stance" and paddling. My instructor (Griffin) was so nice and helpful with pushing me out into the waves and explaining literally every aspect of surfing. I had a great time and would highly recommend it!

James L.

Yelp
Dave and the team are always helpful. Whether you have been surfing a long time, or are just getting started with a lot of questions, it feels like just hanging out with other surfers in the community. They have a great selection to buy new or used gear for every season all year round. Great place to shop!

Yelp
It's been my surf shop for over twenty years. It's one of the first places I go when I visit home. Obviously my go to spot for all surf needs.

Josh C.

Yelp
The best!! The new shops location has made it super convenient to grab what I need(want:) The building seems way bigger and helps with more gear/apparel selection! Love their new place and kind staff, CR will always be my go to!!

Yelp
Somehow this place found me on social media during the pandemic. I ordered stuff over the phone but finally found my way there this past weekend. There is so much stuff in such a small space. Staff was great! If you visit Hampton Beach, make sure you go here!

Sarah L.

Yelp
I love this store and really enjoy everything in it, and the board selection is fantastic. The only downfall is the Female staff. Ive been visiting the cinnamon rainbows stores for years and usually would feel much differently. The employees did not make me feel welcome. They were not warm or friendly, i walked in and it felt so unwelcoming. There is no hello or how can I help you or any valuable customer service. I've visited the new store at least 3 times since it opened and it hasn't changed. I don't know why they are so cold. This store deserves more.

Lisa F.

Yelp
I have been in the "new" shop a few times with my daughter in the last couple of weeks. She absolutely loves your clothing line, bathing suits, jewelry, etc... basically she'd buy the entire store if I'd let her. The reason I'm not giving 5 stars and decided to even leave a review is due to the girls working. When we come in there's no hello, can we help you, or any kind of acknowledgement, they basically roll their eyes and ignore. We stopped in the purchase a top 10 minutes before close (I know, annoying) but it was a quick minute since we knew what we wanted. They of course ignored us and started shutting off lights, and stood at the other end of the counter when we wanted to check out. They are not good for your business and the friendly layer back vibe you portray, Also my daughters friend went in for a job application and was told by these rude girls that only friends and family are hired, if that is actually true then they should be going above and beyond to have great customer service

Corey M.

Yelp
The customer service at Cinnamon Rainbow is excellent. They ordered a board for me, had it within a week, all done by email. Couldn't have been a more smooth experience, I highly recommend them!

Kevin C.

Yelp
CR defines the aloha spirit. The staff is so friendly and helpful and the selection of real surf equipment is great. They have something for all level of surfer. Real knowledge and friendly thoughtful service . Very fair prices and great clothes , sandals etc. I've been coming up to surf from Mass to surf for decades and always look forward to making a stop at the shop. Recently they have done an amazing job of getting through the difficult task of dealing with an on premise fire. But I'm sure they will continue to rise from the ashes and remain the bedrock of the NH surfing scene .

Sophie S.

Yelp
Not a single employee at Cinnamon Rainbows was wearing a mask today. One girl behind the counter was even complaining about feeling sick and faint! This is incredibly irresponsible. I won't be returning until proper precautions are taken. PS. See the message they sent me on Instagram for a clear picture of how they treat customers.

Yelp
My 10 year old and I took lessons today and it was great. From the time I called a few days ago to set things up to after the lesson everyone (and I mean everyone) we met at the shop was friendly and fun. The two instructors (10 and under needs their own instructor for safety) were great. Folks working the rental side chatted with me about board size and told me about folks bigger than me that come in to surf. When we got on site the waves were about 1 foot and the instructors offered me a credit because I am a big guy and they said the waves were probably not big enough for me to get a real lesson. I chose to go ahead mostly to hang with my son. They had my boy up and riding in no time. I was up as well, but not for long because I ran out of wave energy quickly due to the small waves. But they were focused on having fun and were always making suggestions and pointers while complimenting what I did get right. We are already planning our next surf outing and will be renting from the good folk at Cinnamon Rainbows.

Yelp
I was visiting from California and a nice swell was coming in. I needed a board (already had a wetsuit here) so I looked at Cinnamon's used board selection. EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT selection and EXCELLENT prices! Carter helped me out and he was THE BEST!!! I bought a board and asked if I was allowed to trade it for another if I didn't like how it surfed (assuming I didn't ding it or anything). He said it wasn't a problem at all - no restocking fee or any BS like that either. Turns out I wasn't thrilled with the board so I did end up trading if for another and Carter absolutely kept his word. Shout out to Carter!!! Edit: I just read the posts about the employees not wearing masks in early July. That was not smart and not cool of Cinnamon Rainbows back then, but they are wearing masks now (not optional) and they appear to have learned from their mistake. I wish they would post up and take responsibility for not being extra cautious back in the summer when a lot of people made a lot of mistakes, but at least they've changed with the times. I felt safe when I was in the shop in October.

Yelp
Just picked up a board from here which was in for ding repair on a super tight rail. Took me 5 mins to find the ding again. One of the best repair jobs I've ever seen. Kudos!

Yelp
My daughter had a private lesson today with one of the instructors. And it was fantastic. She does have some surf experience so this was not new for her. She is on the younger side, 5 years old. And the instructor was awesome with her!!!! She walked away from the lesson with a huge smile and said it was amazing. Very happy with the experience from start to finish!

Yelp
My favorite Surf Shop in Rye. Bought my first board here, my second and my third. Staff are very knowledgeable of their stuff. Fact they would even discourage you from buying a board if they know it's not right for you. Lots of variety to choose from. They even let me return a board a bought awhile back with money in return to buy a new one. Not sure if they do that with everyone but I do feel they are really easy to do business with. It doesn't hurt I had my first surf instruction in Rincon from one of their employees.

David D.

Yelp
CR know what they talk about, have a huge board and gear selection, and most importantly, they just want to get people out surfing, happy to share what they know and really aren't trying to squeeze me for my dollars. Bought a used board from them that I could trade back in if I didn't like it after a couple of try-outs, so I got the perfect board for me. Comes with a free leash and wax to get you all started. When I told them that this standard leash doesn't work for me, they gave me a huge discount on a new leash that I liked. Last 2 times I was in January 2021, and fall 2020, everyone was wearing masks, and I felt safe.

Yelp
Really loved visiting this place. It's reputation has preceded it for a while and I've wanted to visit for some time. The shop is Such a great place with really nice and laid back staff. As an outsider visiting the town there was no "us and them" vibes that you can get when visiting surf shops in seasonal destinations. We were offered help while looking around. You could see other employees patiently helping customers find the perfect fit in a wetsuit. The owner went out of his way to genuinely thank us as we we leaving. We later saw him waking a customer to her car who had just bought a surfboard. The genuine kindness from this place really warmed my heart. I don't usually go out of my way to write reviews but these guys deserve it.

Nicholas T.

Yelp
Bought my first Board here and came all the way from Rochester, NY. Cinnamon Rainbows also provided me with my first surf session EVER when they lent me 2 longboards to use. They even let me take my first board (which happened to be used) out as a rental to see if i really liked it. Stellar service and they are NOT corporate(which is fuckin rad). They are so down to earth and personal and understand that they need profit to survive but they also are willing to sacrifice some potential dollars for the sake of the customers satisfaction and overall experience. Cinnamon Rainbows is without a doubt my favorite surf shack. Notice i say shack and not store. This place gives you such a tropical good professional feeling especially when it comes to buying a board. And their staff is top notch. Yew!

Yelp
Yay, couldn't be happier with our surfing lesson! Rachel & Nate were awesome and very patient with me and my three friends. They gave us great tips and were super supportive. The waves were just the right size, big enough for some action but not big enough to be scary. The price was also just right. $50 for a surfing lesson, surfboard and wetsuit rental? Boo-yah. Love the shop too! Bought a few things, could have spent a fortune :)

Yelp
I'm surprised I never stopped in here before ...! So I spent my 4th @ Hampton ... and I ran across this store ... it's right across North Beach (north end of Hampton Beach) where you can go watch all the surfers go! The waves are generally shorter in the summertime and supposedly perfect for beginners! I absolutely love the store selection! (Roxy, Billabong, Hurley, etc etc!) Carries surf equipment, apparel, accessories and even some luggage! Oh, and they of course have some of their own apparel of tees and hoodies. Employees are all super nice and easy going and very helpful. It took a while to checkout ... but that's because someone was confused about what to buy for all his new surf gear! I ended up getting a few tops :) Now ... I just need to learn to really swim to learn to surf!! I admire surfers hehe :)

Yelp
Take all the yearning for warm tropical beaches, the desires to be in the waters of Tahiti, cruising along a wave, and plop that into functional and well stocked surf shop free of sales tax and you get Cinnamon Rainbows. My wife thinks the name is gay, and it is, Rainbows are the gay (ok, "diversity")flag, but so what, surfing is gay and happy and free and I love stopping into this shop where they treat seasoned vets and true beginners to the same brand of over-confident but helpful service. --a mecca for those of us who dare to freeze our nuts off for that elusive liquid treat.

Yelp
I am so glad that my first time surfing was with Cinnamon Rainbows Surf shop! With twelve of us on board for a beginners surf lesson, they handled it without a hitch. They kept the instructions on the beach short and sweet, maximizing our time in the water. The staff assisting us were all great, laid back at the shop and very enthusiastic and supportive during the lesson. As far as I can tell all who attended had a great time, whether they were able to stand up on the board or not. A few of enjoyed so much we came back the following week and rented board and wet suit. At $25 for half day ($20 board, $5 wet suit) it was more than reasonable. Although I didn't have the same success as I did on the lesson, I think my experience with Cinnamon Rainbows has helped encourage me to keep at it. With so few surf shops in New England I hope Cinnamon Rainbows will be around forever!
google avatar

Joan M.

Yelp
I had a surf lesson with a guy named James from Cinnamon Rainbows last week and it was such an awesome experience. He was so kind and encouraging and really really knew his stuff. I caught a ton of waves and am now a surfer for life! After that I headed inside and bought a new bathing suit too. This place has such an awesome selection of everything. Loved it!
google avatar

Steve L.

Yelp
Once I got over the cognitive dissonance of surfing in New Hampshire, Cinnamon Rainbows was just right. Dropped $25 for a half day board and wetsuit rental. Compared to its competitors, they had a large selection of (mostly soft-top) boards in various lengths; suits were in reasonable condition. Ends up, the water was so warm that the wetsuit was unnecessary. As far as the pricing of soft goods is concerned, I'm not sure to whom I should compare this beachfront surf shop. Dirt cheap compared to Honolulu standards, but obviously outclassed by Amazon.

Yelp
Great surf shop, such a fun afternoon. Went out for a paddleboard tour and had a lovely solo paddle and chat with an awesome guide/instructor/bff/whatever. I walked into the store, told them I wanted to go out at some point in the next day, and left my cell phone number. A few minutes later, I got a phone call and was out on a board (my first time) within the hour. Proud to say that even with the waves, I did not fall once - eyes straight ahead! Everyone here knows what they're doing, knows the regulars, and seems totally happy to get you out on the water. No attitude, no pretension, just paddling and surfing.
google avatar

Ashley F.

Yelp
I don't surf, but the family dog dragged me into the store on a hot day and decided to make himself at home. The staff was above and beyond patient and friendly. The biggest problem was that they were so nice, the dog refused to leave all afternoon. They even gave him a bowl of water and refills! Although I did not purchase anything, the store was very clean and well organized. The products were all very nice, and browsing through their selection kept me occupied until my Dad managed to get to the store and carry the 80 pound dog home. Considering the fact that the staff treated us so kindly that the dog actually refused to go home with my Dad, I would have to assume that their usual customer service is exceptional as well.

Yelp
Great local surf shop, open all year. It's a lot bigger and more professionally run than the other shops, and any "corporate" feeling is offset by the great selection and the good vibes. Dave, the owner, is particularly knowledgeable and friendly and treats aspirational kooks, groms, and veterans with the same respect and dignity. The staff are well versed in the products, the reports and cams online are right on, and they always take my calls asking about more details on the surf condition (sometimes saving me the one hour drive from Boston.) The prices are quite a bit higher than online, but its worth the extra 20% for me to have some expert advise, support the local scene, and be able to try on a wetsuit. They also have a line of reasonably priced, quality boards and accessories. Interesting to note - the counter is run by beautiful women and the floor by gnarly dudes. The liberal PC part of me wants to get pissy about this, but the endless-summer dreamer thinks its damn fine. Great location in the epicenter of the NH breaks. All in all, my favorite shop in the area.

Justin A.

Yelp
Amazing support and patience from the instructors. You can walk in with no experience and have fun all while learning. Instructors make sure that everyone is enjoying their time all while actually learning how to surf. Customer service is always important and they showcased theirs very well. Highly recommend for any surfers or anyone looking for a fun time.

Carl G.

Yelp
Just bought a new Cinnamon Rainbows 8' 11" x 32" carbon vector surf SUP and couldn't be happier. About a month ago, Dave hooked me up with a used Body Glove Legends wetsuit and I started learning how to surf on a SUP that I've had for a few years. The new suits are super comfortable and it made being out on the water a real pleasure. After a few days on the board, I was totally hooked. After being chained to a keyboard for 25 years, learning to SUP surf has been challenging, but it's always a blast to be out on the water. Coming in as a total newbie to surfing, Matt, Phil and Dave have all been super helpful. As I started looking at purchasing a dedicated surf SUP, they spent lots of time helping me understand board construction, shape and surfing characteristics of the shorter boards. I ended up choosing a CR board, and am already loving it after a couple of times out. It's super responsive and feels really stable on the wave. It's an awesome board at a very reasonable price! Overall, my experience at Cinnamon Rainbows has been great!

Richard R.

Yelp
I don't leave many reviews, but wanted to give these guys props. I came in the other day to purchase a used board to knock around on. All 3 of the guys who helped me (sorry I forgot names...) really were great. Even though I wasn't buying a new board or dropping a ton of money they all took their time with me and offered A+ customer service. I wouldn't hesitate to go back here or recommend this spot to any of my friends. Check em out!
google avatar

Alfred P.

Yelp
This place has gone wayy down hill. I've been a surfer my entire life and don't like being treated like a Canadian tourist. Product is over priced, Staff is pretentious and couldn't answer simple questions when I finally got someone. It wasn't even crowded. This store was cool ten years ago, they've lost their personal touch and another customer.
google avatar

Jon M.

Yelp
this place has a huge selection but prices are really high i would find out what you like and then buy online they really cater to French Canadians most of whom are dangerous kooks they are pretty nice though and will help you with whatever you want they let me borrow a leash once when it was firing just beware of the quebecois at the wall, my friend got hit in the stomach by a runaway board and ruptured his kidneys
google avatar

Yui K.

Yelp
Way laid back staff like the surfers they are. Well stocked with all the surfing goodies and gear needed for your first time or anytime. Easy access; prime location right across from the beach. Rented wetsuits for $10 for 4hrs ($15/entire day). I expected old, shabby bowling-shoes-esque ones, but they were rather clean and new. Surprise!
google avatar

david d.

Yelp
With an absolutely amazing board selection, and a more than willing to assist staff, Cinnamon Rainbows is a terrific board shop. the atmosphere is welcoming and laidback, with selection that would impress anyone. I have been a patron of the shop for years, and have rented more than suitable equiptment, have developed a great relationship with the owners, and have bought quite a few boards as well. the quality of the surf at the wall may come and go with the seasons, but Cinnamon Rainbows is a great shop all the time.
google avatar

Daniel L.

Yelp
I got my board repaired here when my finbox caved in and another time when the I seriously dinged my board. They did a great job repairing everything- fast and a reasonable price. I would defiently recommend getting a board repaired here to any friend. The shop has a wide selection of goods from clothes, wetsuits, surfboards etc but they seem to be true to their surfing roots.

Kati D.

Yelp
Spent the summer in NE. Spent part of that surfing with Cinnamon Rainbows. Great store. Awesome surf camp and lessons. Really enjoyed our time here.
google avatar

Sarah D.

Yelp
Wonderful service. Nice guy (who I think is the owner) is so helpful and friendly. We purchase all of our surf and body board gear here. A+
google avatar

David Y.

Yelp
The first time I stopped by I was disappointed they wouldn't let me rent a board due to an impending storm that was still 6-8 hours away. I left annoyed despite pleading that I'd be back in an hour or two. I came back and had a very pleasant experience from renting a board. The half day rental was $20 and they provided me a great longboard in excellent condition. Their shop is a few blocks from the surfing area of The Wall and they're located next to a city parking lot. This makes for plenty of convenience and simplicity. Also the staff was very friendly. If you're a newb like me and want to surf North Beach, you need to check this surf shop out.
google avatar

Angela S.

Yelp
I can't say enough about them. Our instructor was Tom. Coolest guy ever! Super funny, friendly, and aiming to please. Not to mention he really knows his stuff. I'm still learning and look forward to next summer to continue. They made my summer fantastic!
google avatar

sarah T.

Yelp
These guys are the best. We forgot our paddles for our SUP boards back in NY. Other surf shops were quick to refused the rental of just paddles. Cinnamon Rainbow didn't hesitate to help. They gave us a really low quote and saved part of our vacation! We're incredibly grateful!
google avatar

Kevin G.

Yelp
I always knew this shop was great, however, as I've moved around the country so many other surf shops fall way short! Great staff, great prices, perfect location, did I mention the cool website!? I can't wait for my next visit up north...
google avatar

Sean D.

Yelp
I've known Dave for Many years. I wouldn't think of going anywhere else for surf gear and wear. They have always been fair in price, and second to none in professionalism. 5 stars for you!!

Darlene W.

Yelp
It's our families surf shop. The sales staff always provides amazingly knowledgeable, respectful & friendly service. I've been shopping at CR since I was in high school. I shop there with my teenager & preteen surfers & SUPers & my kids LOVE CR too! CR has terrific prices and the owner always stands behind your purchases. That's very important as a parent.

Yelp
Wow -- what a great shop this place is! I came from out of town to surf and was greeted with the kindest and most helpful group of people. The shop is packed with great gear for surfing along with clothing, shoes/sandals, surf-related DVDs, etc. I was really delighted I came upon it and would definitely recommend. This is exactly what a surf shop should be -- practical, friendly, unassuming and stocked with a TON of surfboards!
google avatar

Christine C.

Yelp
Cinnamon Rainbows has been my favorite place to shop for the place 9 years and always will be! My brother and I both bought our first boards here and still have them! They really make sure to sell the right board to the customer and take time to figure out your skill level before pointing you in the right direction. They'll even suggest the lower priced used boards if it is really the best bet for you! On certain weekdays (I don't remember which days) you can even demo the stand up paddle boards with a group, plus with any board rental if you decide to take it the rental cost is deducted from your total. Check out North Beach Grill next door and Secret Spot for some munchies too!
google avatar

Sian L.

Yelp
Best surf shop we've ever been in (including ones in Hawaii). Huge selection with friendly and helpful staff. It was worth the hour drive from Maine.
google avatar

Alina M.

Yelp
My favorite local surf shop. Very helpful and super friendly staff. Russ, had my boyfriend and I all hooked up with our first boards and 3 season wet suit get-ups this spring and we've gone back for kids wet suits as well as clothes, stickers and wax and we will continue to go there for our surfing gear in the future. AND I LOVE THE NAME :)

Matt B.

Yelp
I visit cinnamon rainbows, 10 to 20 times a year. the service is the best... the prices phenomenal and the product is the best. If you want expertise, go to Cinnamon Rainbows. Of course they are busy, they are the best... but it is the best place to get your surf gear and clothing. Plus they take care of you if you have any issues and they don't beat you up on the little stuff, which can be expensive in this sport. Best place to shop for the whole family.
google avatar

Trevor B.

Yelp
The people there are so kicked back and relaxed willing to help with any need. Awesome experience buying two boards.
