We stopped at Circa for dinner, the building is a styled homestead with a dining room that has a lovely wood fireplace. The food had some great tastes and all produce was very fresh. One recommendation would be to make some slight changes to the menu with flavours specifically the lamb shoulder, whilst it was delicious the seasoning lacked a little.

Very nice venue, old world charm meets sophisticated yesteryear. Takes you back to first settlers of the region. Food was lovely, very flavoursome, my duck was delicious, perfectly cooked with sweet flavours. We sat by the huge fire place adding a romantic warmth. A delightful experience made better by being a short stroll back to the Convent.

Came here to celebrate a birthday, and the food didn’t disappoint. Beef cheeks for the mains, was delicious and the selection of desserts were impeccable being a desert snob! I can definitely say they were a 10 out of 10. My favourite was the nectarine pastry. We went for a wander around outside after dinner and it’s actually magical.

Thank you to the Head Chef and team for the dining portion of our experience (5 star). If everything else had followed suit my review would have been very different. The remainder of our experience has been discussed directly with Matt Curran - Retreat Manager, Convent Hunter Valley. I am confident Matt has followed up with the front-of-house team and will ensure that they are run through the sequence of service and customer service thoroughly. BIG shout out to Avril. We plan to take Matt up on his offer to let him know when we're back in the area so he can ensure that we are looked after and experience the true Circa 1876.

Set dinner option had fabulous choices. I chose quail for entree & duck for my main course. Both sensational. Finished with a orange polenta cake which was delicious & beautifully presented.A perfect evening for an anniversary. Quite special. Many thanks to the chief & staff.

This beautiful restaurant is fine dining. Don’t expect piles of fries or Parma, this is cuisine and chef knows proper portion sizes that leave you satisfied but not stuffed full. The food was varied and delicious, the service by the trainee server from Argentina was attentive but not overbearing (thank you!), and the surroundings are just gorgeous and very historic. A beautiful treat.

What a experience, an absolute gem! My partner and I visited for dinner to celebrate her new job, from the moment we arrived there was a smile our faces. The atmosphere was unique and service was first class. We chose from the 3 course menu and our taste buds joined in the celebration . The beverage selection is extensive and wide in variety. I personally had Ardberg on the rocks, and also tried the Circa Refresher (highly recommended) If you are looking for something different that will not let you down and delivers great value for outstanding quality, look no further.

Came here for the experience. It did not disappoint. Quality service, quality food, quality wine and what a special venue. Loved this restaurant. Love that they utilise fresh herbs and vegetables from their gardens. Loved the run down from servers with what went into cooking the delicious food.
