Visited here for the All you can eat catfish night. I really enjoyed it. The crust on the catfish is a little thick for my taste but it is definitely crunchy and seasoned perfectly. The fish moist and very clean taste with good size pieces. The fries here are not good. They are fresh cut but Soggy,cold and cooked with no crunch or crisp at all. The Cole Slaw was pretty good and the beans were exceptional. The value is very good at 12.99 I think. I’ll definitely be back and give the Onion Rings a shot, I hear they are great.

Went for Thanksgiving Dinner first time. Greeted by owner at the door. Family run place that made a great effort in preparation for the Thanksgiving Buffet. Turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, Mac and cheese, green beans, yams, stuffing, cranberry relish, gravy and a selection of desserts all appeared to be home made. Very old building remodeled very tastefully.

Circa 1880 is a hidden gem! Outstanding food. Chicken fried chicken was perfectly cooked, the gravy the best I’ve had in years. Hamburger steak (so good he wiped up anll the gravy with his roll) and bbq burger (so good she ate the entire thing) both excellent choices according to my family. It was a little weird that when we asked for butter the waitress looked stunned and said they had never served butter with their rolls before and no one had ever asked for butter before and she never brought us any- so bring your own butter! But you absolutely HAVE to order dessert. The fried pies and homemade vanilla ice cream are out of this world! Strawberry is actually better than peach but you can’t go wrong with either. So perfect I actually want to go back to this little hole in the wall town! Owners are so friendly and down to earth. You won’t regret stopping here!

My wife and I came here for dinner and enjoyed our experience here. The food was great and prices were pretty reasonable. We liked the old timey feel and the little shop in the front selling jewelry and a few other things.

Made a 630 reservation for Valentines Day. The special was an appetizer of your choice followed by 2 Bison ribeyes, with roasted potatoes and Asparagus. And to finish off your meal, a red velvet cheesecake brownie! The steaks were grilled to perfection! The potatoes and Asparagus were phenomenal! we selected the jalapeno poppers as our appetizer and let me tell you, they did not disappoint! The brownie was amazing too! We traveled out of our way to go by and eat here. It was well worth the trip! My husband loved the ribeye and my chicken fried steak was so yummy. We will definitely visit again next time we are in the area.

Went to Circa 1880 in Baird yesterday for lunch. We both got the chicken fried steak special and it did not dissapoint. Special comes with the steak, real mashed potatoes, gravy and fried okra. No substitutions allowed. The steak was well seasoned and cooked perfectly, very tender. Okra was well battered and flavorful. Potatoes were a little cool but very good. Sweet tea was perfect and our glasses did not run low even though the place was very busy. Our waitress was running between tables. Two specials, a tea and a soda after tax was just under $32. Definitely will return.

Me and my wife went here for the first time today because we wanted something different. We only live 45 minutes from here and never knew this gem existed! I ordered the 6 piece fish and 8 piece shrimp with 2 sides for $11.95. my expectations were that the fish would be around 2-3 inches in length, oh boy was I wrong! As you can see in the pictures these fish are huge! The hand rolled cheese sticks are out of this world and about 2 to 3 times bigger than regular cheese sticks and taste so much better! The taste was amazing and real mashed potatoes!! Michelle our waitress was the absolute best waitress we have ever had, extremely friendly, prompt on taking your order, and was running back and forth to take care of all her customers. The restaurant needs to make sure that they show her how much of an asset she is to the place! If you are ever in Baird you need to stop here for sure! I have enough food left over for a day or two!
